Izuku looked out at his new apartment, and how lonely it felt. All his stuff had been unpacked and arrayed how he wanted. His bedroom was simple while his spare room had been converted into a sort of office. Part of the living room was modified into a functioning workshop area. The kitchen and the rest of the living room remained unchanged.
And it was just him.
Pulling out his phone he took a quick moment to look over the progress on his plans. His civilian projects were going as planned, even better now that he had additional funding. His villain operations were on break as all available Units were busy moving the lair closer to the ocean. He put his phone back in his pocket and sighed. Eri and Inko were probably sleeping by now, so he wasn't going to bug them with a call.
Walking to the kitchen he opened the fridge and pulled out a simple meal. He popped it in the microwave and leaned back. As the machine hummed he sighed before looking back at his apartment.
This is how he'll live when he isn't working, for the rest of his days.
'I wonder if my creations are having a better time than me right now?' he pondered.
A young man held his beloved close in the back alley. Their lips smothering one another as their hands grasped each other's bodies. His belt was being loosened and he could see hearts in his beloved's eyes.
He was about to get lucky.
Suddenly they stopped, the sound of the ground breaking behind them interrupting their steamy session. They both turned to the source of the noise, watching in awe as the cement of the alleyway began to break upwards. A lone figure walking upwards as though traveling on a staircase. The last of the foundation gave way as their feet touched normal ground. The figure only gave them a side glance before turning back to the end of the alley. "Good day." They said before walking out of it.
They both stood there stunned, unable to comprehend what they just saw.
'What a pair of weirdos.' Cell thought as he continued onwards with his disguise. He was wearing the largest clothes that he could find from the left over pile. Any clothing found on his meal's bodies as they were collected basically. He was wearing a baggy t shirt and trousers, his upper body and wings clashing with a trenchcoat that he wore with an open front. His tail remained hidden while a pair of sandals gave his feet the appearance of boots.
Sadly there wasn't a hat for him to wear, so he had to settle for his "natural" helm.
Letting his hands rest in his pockets he could feel all the loose change and bills. He wanted to grab a wallet, but the R and Bs had thrown them into the scrap pile when they arrived. So he just had to lug around all the cash in the deep coat pockets. Still, by his own calculations he had enough money for three of his meals, or about twenty one human meals.
With his own knowledge he wandered down the streets, ignoring the side glances from civilians as he made his way to the nearest restaurant. It wasn't around lunch time, so he hoped they wouldn't be busy. Entering the place he could feel a blast of an A.C. and very few people eating at the moment.
Perfect.
Walking to the front cash register he looked up at the menu. His own curiosity and wonder on the taste influencing his decision. Looking up he could see the teenager at the cash register, the tired look in their eyes. "What can I get for you?" They asked with a fake smile. "I'll have two number nines, a number nine large, a number six with extra dip, a number seven, two number forty fives, one with cheese, and a large soda. Cola for all the drinks." Cell answered as the cashier just sighed. He could hear groaning from the back as well, but he didn't care.
The cashier showed him the total and Cell paid in cash. "Here's your number." The cashier said while handing him a small slip of paper. Cell looked at it, then looked at the number on the screen. It wouldn't take long so he looked out at the dining area.
taking a seat at a table bot far from a pair of boys he leaned back and waited.
"Hey dude, does that guy look familiar too you?" Shuichi asked. Mustard just looked at the guy he gestured too and shook his head. "No one I've ever seen." he replied. "Its just that his appearance rings a bell, I just can't place it." Shuichi said. "You heard his order though right?" Mustard asked. "Yep, he's all alone and he ordered it to stay." Shuichi said. "And he paid all in cash, think we should?" Mustard asked.
"Dude, we may be villains but we're above mugging people." Shuichi replied. "So you say." Mustard replied. "I'm serious man, muggers have the highest casualty rate of all villains, so many of them have the bad luck of running into an off duty hero or villain in disguise. Some of them just piss off the wrong man and they wake up to find their legs were broken while they were asleep. So we don't mug people." Shuichi said while raising a finger to emphasis his point. "Fine, it was just a suggestion anyway." Mustard replied.
They continued watching the man as he walked over to retrieve his order. A blunted tail slinking out of his coat to allow him to carry his extra tray as he plopped back down at his table.
Suddenly they felt sick as they watched the man dig into his large meal with rapid speed. burgers and chicken strips seemingly disappearing in an instant as he downed his drinks just as quickly. The fries didn't fair any better, almost fading away from existence as he ate them.
"I think I'm going to be sick." Shuichi said. "Where does it all go?" Mustard asked. The man finished the last of his large drink and leaned back with a content look on his face. He then took his trays to the cans and threw out his garbage. leaving the trays on the pile before he walked out of the establishment.
"Should we follow him?" Mustard asked. "No, suspicious as he may be he's not our target." Shuichi said while gesturing to a large man who was glancing at the kid's play area with intent. "Ah, single shot?" Mustard asked. "Just keep it quiet." Shuichi said.
As Cell continued walking with his stomach full and his tastebuds satisfied for the time being. His next destination was unknown to himself as he let his legs guide him. He ignored the sideways glances, the suspicious looks, and the fearful looks he got from some people. It's like they didn't live in a world with mutant type Quirks or bizarre alterations made by existing lineages.
Eventually he stopped near a back alley as he heard something loud and violent. Taking a side glance he made his way down the alley it had originated from. Taking a cautious side glance as he hid in plain sight. He saw a lone boy, bloodied and bruised, surrounded by thugs. The boy didn't seem scared, but rather excited, with a feral grin across his face. His fits were stained red as he looked out at the surrounding mob.
"Come on you shitheels, come get me!!!" He shouted as the mob stepped closer. One of them ran behind him and slammed the top of his head with a baseball bat. The boy just buckled for a second before twisting his body and ramming his fist right into the thug's face. Teeth flew and the man was sent to the ground. The boy didn't seem to care that his forehead started to bleed, he just continued egging them on.
Cell just watched with curiosity before he felt something jab into his back. "Hey freak, give me your money." some random mugger said. Cell had to resist a sigh as his tail flew from his coat, the end becoming a sharp needle rather than the blunted end he had before. The mugger didn't even get a chance to scream before the tail stabbed through his chin and up into his skull.
As he slowly devoured the man he kept his eyes on the fight. The boy wasn't the most skilled, but his sheer stubbornness and ferocity was pushing him far beyond what he should be capable of doing.
As the last thug was knocked out the teen pulled out his phone and called someone, probably the police. "Yeah, same gang as you said, fuckers tried it and found out." The kid said before hanging up. As he walked away from the mass of bodies his wounds seemed to catch up to him.
"Fuck, gotta keep myself together." The kid said. He took one last glance down at them before he turned back and started rifling through the gang's pockets. "Just a bit more." the kid muttered before taking to the back alley. He passed Cell, not even given him a piece of mind or investigating the pile of clothes behind him.
Cell took one last look at the mass of knocked out crooks and shook his head. They wouldn't even make a good meal, it be like eating a whole bunch of that same fool who tried to mug him earlier.
Well, the sun is coming down soon, he might want to get back to the lair. Finding a manhole cover not far from him Cell kicked it open. The solid metal lid flying to the sky as Cell jumped down the hole. The light from the surface disappearing as the cover landed perfected over the hole.
