I know, I know, I'm a story starter, I'm aware, I really need to work on it, but for this idea It wouldn't go away.
This has been on my mind for a long time ever since I saw the first chapter of a crossover story of MHA and PPGZ a long time ago.
If any of you remember a fellow writer (I'm pretty sure for fanfiction, its been far too long that I've long forgotten the name) wrote a story where Izuku acquired the powers of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup from a Z ray hitting him while protecting All might from getting hit (as far as memory goes I only read the first chapter from there, maybe a little bit of the second too, like I said it's been so long that my memory isn't too good).
If you know which story I'm talking about and who the writer is, please let me know who it is so I can chat with them because it seems they've long since deleted their story from the site, as far as my search goes I can't find anything on my end.
Here's the thing, if you guys don't know already, while I like the idea concept I have one nitpick that I cannot ignore... I am not into crossdressing (not what so ever)!
That part was what disturbed me the most, I would've preferred if Izuku was born female instead for that particular idea.
I'm not trying to backlash anyone as we are all entitled to our own opinion and preferences, I'm just saying for me a Crossdressing Izuku really puts me off and does Not play well in my book.
I've actually wanted to do this kind of idea for a long time after reading the first chapter, but I didn't want to seem like I was plagiarizing or stealing someone's idea (I ain't no thief I can promise you that, Thievery here is NOT good in my book). However, since it seems that story no longer exists I think its alright for me to go for it, but with my own adaptation of how events would go if Izuku was born female and got the girls powers.
So obviously the story will be different, and I'm even adding my own set of what ifs to this formula to make this more diverse. I hope you all enjoy this.
BTW I've posted a poll on my profile on fanfiction some time ago on which past story I have on hiatus I might like to do a rewrite on, if any of you are interested please check it out, this poll will be running for months unlike the last few so this will give me time to wait for a bigger set of results to come in.
Thank you Mr/Miss writer for the crossover story idea and I'm terribly sorry for forgetting your name thus making it harder for me to find you! If you see my story, know that this was out of pure inspiration from you.
If you all are ready, let's get started!
For Izuku Midoriya, a quirkless girl born in a world where 80% of the world is born with some kind of power known as a quirk while only 20% of the minority is born without one and thus are unfairly treated like garbage because of it unlike everyone else, It was just a typical early Sunday morning as she was at Dagoba beach once again removing garage from it in her training to acquire One for All from her hero and mentor, All might, whom had chosen her to succeed him one day.
Before their meeting that fateful day, Izuku was treated badly by everyone except her mother for not having a quirk.
Bullying, name calling, favoritism towards quirked students while being completely antagonistic towards students who don't have one (she being the only one in her neighbor), The teachers blatant disregard towards the bullying And some even going to encouraging it, some even giving her punishment for things that the other students had caused (She tried fighting back a few times in the past and it didn't end well).
She wouldn't be surprised at this point if the staff was purposely manipulating the profiles of her and other students just so particular favored ones can have an easier time getting into a future hero school and the school itself getting credit for producing such heirs, so to speak, since the reputation of her school was anything but stellar well also degrading other students unfairly even though they were working diligently and hard to get good grades so that they themselves could get into good schools one day.
No matter what she did, no one paid her any mind nor defended her when she was abused.
She never even told her mother because she knew that she would worry, And she knew from the past that her mother had tried time and time again to get to schools to acknowledge that her daughter was being bullied and to get it to stop only for her words to fall on deaf ears which led to her mother crying her heart out which broke her heart. So she thought it was better to just hide it and treat her own injuries herself.
Despite all the abuse and her quirkless status she wanted to become a heroine, No matter how much pain she faced and no matter how much beating she endured she wouldn't give up on it, she even started writing notebooks full of quirks from heroes listing pros and cons and how they can be improve upon ever since she was a little girl.
This however she chose wisely not to show to anyone fearing that the bullying would only get worse if anyone knew or even worse if any villain somehow got their hands on them then this would spell doom for other heroes and innocent civilians out there.
Especially not to her main bully, Katsuki Bakugo, who was once her dear childhood friend but then turned on her the moment that it was revealed that she was quirkless.
Despite how badly he treated her, She always admired him for his confidence and for his quirk and for his determination to get stronger and to become a hero, but even she was aware that he wasn't perfect, far from it in terms of his personality and how he treats others, She can acknowledge that his attitude was anything but stellar, and was most certainly aware that he hated her, no matter how much admiration she had for him and how much she genuinely complimented him he always yelled at her and antagonized her.
It almost seemed like he was completely blind to the fact that she admired him and looked up to him, like in his eyes she was actually belittling him and looking down on him when really that was never the case.
The old saying you can admire someone but can still find faults in them, really ring true.
The final straw that broke the camel's back was what happened that faithful day, as she was about to leave the classroom after class got out when Bakugo, who at the time she still called Kacchan, had snatched up to her hero notebook, Which thankfully both he did not read and the fact that the title of the book was dubbed "HNFTF #13" and thankful still that he didn't question the title or made any indication that he knew what it meant, and used his quirk on it to burn the cover before tossing out the window.
He made his own threat that if she attempted to enter the UA exams then he would destroy her, And his final words before leaving was what stung the most.
"If you want a quirk so badly then here's what you should do, make believe you'll get one and take a swan dive off the roof."
Suicide baiting.
He really did it.
She was pretty sure that he wasn't even aware of how much those words can truly affect somebody, and could seriously get someone in trouble should their victim commit suicide after that.
Before it was death threats and him hurting her with his quirk, doing everything he could to belittle her, But in all the years she had known him he never said such vile words like that until that day.
Before a part of her kind of hoped, even if The concept seemed worthless, that he would one day realize his actions and be her friend again.
But that day, He really crossed the line, he went way too far.
Any hope of them being friends again, any admiration she had towards him, was completely turn to dust in an instant.
That day, she broke in tears, but she didn't break down in front of him completely as her only words to him after he said those words were this:
"It's a wonder how your parents can still love you despite how much you act more like a villain than a hero."
After that she shoved past him and his small posse, and ran out of the classroom as fast as her legs could carry her, not wanting to stay and face any sort of backlash from him after saying that.
The thing she had said was awful but she knew it was the truth, it was a very hard pill for her to swallow but she knew that after he had said those despicable words, words you should absolutely never say to an abuse victim, she knew that she couldn't look up to him anymore.
True heroes never bully nor abused anyone, let it be other heroes, civilians or even villains. She already knew this, she especially also knew that they especially absolutely never tell someone to go kill themselves.
Doing so would only make you no better than a villain yourself.
What he said... was anything but heroic.
Before she would (painfully) shrug off all of the beating as a part of her still hoped that he would come to his senses, but now after those vile words came out of his mouth... the potential hero she once saw in her eyes was replaced of that of a villain.
She always knew that, why she didn't really and truly accept that full fact before that day would elude her but she's, heartbreakingly, willing to acknowledge that she had been a fool for not accepting the fact that with his attitude becoming a hero was not ideal.
But even if she could tell someone what he had said, a part of her figure that no one was going to listen to a quirkless girl.
Only her mother would listen but even then it broke her heart with the mere thought of telling her mother and risking breaking her heart more.
Don't get it wrong She had tried a few times to tell Kacchans parents, who she saw as an aunt and uncle to her due to the fact that Mitsuki was a dear friend of her mother's ever since childhood, about him treating her badly, and while the parents did listen and punish their son accordingly, their son on the other hand didn't take it too well and thus attacked her for it, threatening to hurt her worse if she did it again.
That and she didn't want to risk destroying the friendship that both the mothers had for each other.
If She tried it again now? After what he had said, She believed that it would be the absolute last time as this time she feared that he really would kill her.
After fishing her notebook from the fish pond and checking how its condition was Which thankfully was rather good as only the cover suffered more the damage and the edges suffered a bit of the pond but everything else was still intact including her writing and her drawings inside, And after taking time to try her notebook, She made her way home deciding to take a shortcut so she could avoid running into Kacchan, briefly wondering at that point if she should even still call him that after what he had said.
She was determined to continue following her dream despite what had happened, she would be like All Might and stand strong with a smile and She was going to work harder in her training as soon as she could.
For years she had tried to go to an actual professional gym to do training but more often than not she was turned away by the mere fact that she was quirkless, no one wanted to train her, and the martial arts dojos she tried to attend before, while they had accepted her, she was immediately treated like garbage as she was made to be a target by the other students plus forcing her to drop out all together. So she instead tried to do her own set of training without telling anyone, not even her mother.
Mostly it consisted of running all the time, trying to get notes on each hero fight she encounters, which really helped to build up stamina, And she did work outs in her bedroom mainly setups and push-ups and the like, when it came to weights she had to use the smaller training weights as getting more heavier metal ones were while affordable were kind of pricey and she didn't want in trouble her mother in getting some for her.
And She tried to self-teach herself martial art lessons but that was tricky.
Her training was rather mild but she at least was getting her body into decent shape even though she was still rather scrawny looking.
She was determined to become a hero even if she didn't have a quirk, she would fight quirkless if she had to much like the Erasure Hero Eraserhead, whom she found inspiration from to do her training, as despite him having a quirk that wasn't battle oriented that didn't change the fact that he was still an efficient hero that could fight even villains that had muting quirks. But she understood that for him he had to use his brains as well as his brawn.
It was wiser to choose how you battled and wiser still to make sure you wouldn't become a one-trick pony as The underground hero always had more than one tactic to use to take down his opponents.
Really it was both All Might and Eraserhead respectfully who inspired her to follow her dream.
But then everything changed when she was attacked by the Sledge villain and almost killed via suffocation with him attempting to use her body to try and escape the heroes trying to find him. But thankfully to her shock and surprise, All Might appeared and saved her, granted the attack knocked her out but mostly it was from having almost suffocated to death but thankfully she was resuscitated and the villain was captured and placed into two liter bottles (Which was clever as due to him being out of uniform he had to use something to try and efficiently contain the villain without the proper restraints to do so).
All Might had even signed her notebook while she was recovering from the whole thing. But as he was about to leave She clung onto his leg as there was something important she wanted to ask him, Which was a bad idea as she almost got killed the second time as she clung to him for her life as the two of them went flying across the city.
After landing on a building, She asked him if it was possible for someone like her to become a hero even without a Quirk, But in the midst of her telling him the shorthand version of her story (Hiding how bad the bullying actually was) And how much he had inspired her to follow her dream to be hero who can give hope to others with a smile on her face, It was revealed to her what All Might true condition was and him revealing that he had actually been badly injured 5 years ago and that the true nature of the battle itself that caused it had been kept out of the public just so people wouldn't panic, and He had asked her to not say a word about this which she promised that she wouldn't.
He had even explained to her that the reason why he smiled was to hide his own fears and pain and insecurity, the smile was just a mask to give people hope and to make sure that they wouldn't worry about him and trick his own fear into believing that there was nothing to worry about, he understood that being a hero was tough and it was pretty dangerous, gently telling her that No he didn't believe that she could become a heroine but had encouraged her to try becoming a police officer as they too were just as important as without them heroes would have a harder time trying to arrest criminals as he himself had a buddy in the police force who he trusted and he had worked with several times on different cases over the years, telling her that while it wasn't wrong to dream that she had to dream a little more realistically but at the same time to work hard if she wanted to obtain such a dream, it all depending on her.
It stung, deeply so, but at least on the bright side, her hero was willing to give it to her straight and unlike everyone else he didn't belittle her or made fun of her dream and instead try to encourage her to try a different career so that she wouldn't risk getting herself killed early on.
He was kinder to her unlike everyone else. Which was a nice change of pace, though his words were the only things she had to fight off the overwhelmingly dark thoughts despair that still whirled in her heart viciously after what had happened at school as she made her way home, letting her legs take her, Which led her to unknowingly come to a hero fight subconsciously as it become body instinct at that point after having done it for so long.
At first she was going to just ignore it but her own curiosity got the better her and she wanted to see what was going on, only to be met in horror as not only did the sledge villain somehow escape All Might but also that he had a hostage.
Immediately she blamed herself as she recalled that the bottles were in his pants pockets when she had clung onto him earlier, believing that she was the one responsible for setting him free unknowingly and causing another innocent person to get caught in this madness because of her. With All Might out of time and the other heroes not having the right quirks to handle this, it would only be a matter of time before the victim died of suffocation like she almost did.
What shocked her the most was seeing who was being held hostage, it was ka-eh, Bakugo, what happened next felt like it all happened in bullet time. Her body had moved before she even had a chance to think, She went towards the conflict trying to think of something, anything to save him, quickly using her backpack as a distraction to throw it straight at one of his eyes causing him to flinch and release Bakugo, around his mouth, allowing him to breathe Even if only temporarily as she clawed desperately trying to dig him out as her bully had demanded to know why she was there and she in Hysteria screamed that she didn't know and that her legs had moved before she could think, after thinking about everything that happened she then told him that despite how badly he had treated her and all the horrible things he did to her, she couldn't just stand there and watch him die.
Thankfully this provided enough of a distraction to allow All Might to be able to regain his muscle form and jump in just as the villain was about to knock her away, using a Detroit smash to splatter him while hanging on to the children so that they wouldn't get blown away by the whirlwind caused by a smash which also caused the weather to change as it rained briefly Which helped put out the fires caused by Bakugo's explosions while he was trying to use desperately to escape but to no avail into a nothing but causing property damage and making it harder for the heroes trying to save him.
After getting chewed out by the other heroes while all Might was surrounded by the press, She made her way home, But before she could even reach her neighborhood she was stop twice by two people She didn't think she would encounter again that day.
First was Bakugo, who told her that he didn't need any help and that she should have just minded her own business and screamed that she would never become a hero And that she would always be a Deku (which was a nickname he had called her since childhood, and always called her that since then, which literally meant worthless) before trotting back home himself but in a different direction.
The second almost immediately after was All Might himself, who is still in his muscle form before changing back to his original form after finally having escape the media as he stood for justice not sound bites.
He told her that he was sorry for earlier and wanted to thank her for if not for her he would have been a worthless bystander in the crowd.
At first she told him that He shouldn't thank her as she was the one responsible for accidentally letting the villain escape The first place and that all she did was cause more trouble, but he stopped her telling her that despite her being quirkless she unlike the other heroes there actually did something to try and save Bakugo which was really inspiring and allowed him to push past his limits to save them both.
He told her that there were many stories out there about how heroes came to be, but most had one thing in common, that their bodies moved before they even had the chance to think. And that, She was one of those people.
Which brought tears to her eyes as she recalled her mother's words, her apologizing and wanting for things to be different after her daughter had asked her if she could still be a hero despite not having a quirk, which broke her heart as those were not the words that she wanted to hear.
But that day he said the very words that he wanted to hear from anyone all her life:
"Young lady, you too can become a hero."
Which made her break down as tears of relief and joy flowed down her cheek as she collapsed on her knees, clenching her chest, finally hearing the words that freed from her despair.
And it was All Might, her number one hero, who had said those words to her.
After that he had decided to choose her to become his successor and told her the truth about his quirk that he was not born with but instead was like a torch that was passed on to him by somebody else (Which understandably shocked her and left in disbelief but if this was coming from All Might of all people then it had to be true), And that the reason why it was kept a secret was because this quirk was made to fight against villainy, And If anyone knew that it could be passed on to someone else that it could easily be abused and use for evil as villains would stop at nothing to get their hands on it from the current user.
After thinking about it briefly she accepted without hesitation, which he anticipated with a big grin.
Of course obtaining the quirk itself was going to be anything but easy, as first she had to train her body so that it would be strong enough to contain it as the quirk itself would essentially kill her if it was passed down to her in the state she currently was in.
And while Her training before was decent he knew that there was always room for improvement especially as she was going to need all the help she could get.
So All Might chose to use the beach, which was once a popular tourist destination had long since become an unofficial city dump as people dump their garbage illegally there so much to the point that It couldn't be visited for fun anymore, To train her as it would be her task to clear the beach of the garbage for the next 10 months before the UA entrance exam.
He even gave her scheduled meal plan and exercise plan so that not only would she be able to get enough work in but also be able to allow her time to be able to rest in between and not overwork herself.
He had told her early on that while he understood that she needed to hustle And work harder than anyone else to achieve her goal, she should not disregard the fact that she absolutely should not overwork herself to the point of exhaustion as that would be extremely dangerous and detrimental to her own physical health, as himself had learned the hard way when he was young, granted he had been a little younger than her when he started training but nonetheless he understood all too well how bad overworking oneself can truly affect them, and told her that if she wanted to add more work into her workout going forward she should talk to him first so that he can make the appropriate adjustments needed to do so.
And even told her that in public she should call him Mr. Yagi so that no one becomes suspicious and she doesn't accidentally expose him, Which shocked her as she now knew her mentor's name, which was Toshinori Yagi, But nonetheless accepted knowing it was a wise choice.
So for the past 7 months she was hard at work, devoting her time to training and following her mentors instructions and plans to the letter, and yes on some days going beyond but the same time making sure that she didn't overdo it as she kept her teachers warning to heart, Her workouts becoming harder and harder but In an appropriate way so that not only she could get more work in but at the same time she wouldn't do harm to her own body because of it.
At school, things were still rough but for some strange reason Bakugo didn't pick on her during the time, I mean sure he would glare at her more often than not but he didn't yell or attack her, which made her rather weary But she nonetheless was grateful so that she could focus on her schoolwork and her training without issue, hoping that he was just focus on getting his own work done before the end of their last school year before the exams so he had less to worry about later.
At home, while her mother was a bit suspicious of her training she nonetheless decided not say anything and instead supported her daughter training and even followed the meal plan she had given her, Which was her mother's way of trying to make up for making it seem like she had given up on her dream years ago after she had been diagnosed as quirkless, and was willing to give it her all to help her daughter succeed even in her own small way. When asked about why the change, her daughter had told her that she realized that if She wanted any hope of being able to pass the exam She needed to start training more vigorously If she wanted to achieve that. Of course her mother was suspicious that her daughter wasn't doing her training alone but her mother decided not say anything and decided to let her daughter tell her in time, And if things went too far she would step in to stop it.
Of course Izuku herself never told her mentor how bad the bullying had been over the years and how things really were at school outside of basically how her day was (Just telling him that things were well without going into full detail which made him a little suspicious but he nonetheless bought it), which made her feel guilty but focused only on getting her training done in an attempt to combat that.
All in all, everything was going well.
But little would she know that on this supposedly normal Sunday, it would be the day that everything would change, for better and for worse.
What did you all think of the first chapter? Please leave your comments and share with me your thoughts on the chapter when you have the chance. And yes I am still working on my other stories, hopefully I can get The next chapters for them in before the end of the month. until next time, TTFN!!
