The Loss of a Child...

.

.

I have experienced loss before: the loss of a brother that has plagued me for years, the loss of a father which I have come to realize I never knew at all, even the loss of Tara for the 10 years she was away at school.

The temporary loss of a son who was ripped from his mother's arms only later to be returned.

The loss of a beloved best friend I've known since birth and loved like a brother, the loss of a man who I looked up to and loved like a father after mine was gone.

The loss of respect and love for a stepfather and a mother I felt like I knew, but now I realize I never knew them at all.

But this... the loss of a child; my child, is by far the greatest loss of all.
