Chapter 74
[Plat KH2 OST Lazy Afternoon]
Sora, Izuku and Inko all sat at the table. The two boys ate the dinner that was prepped on the table, and were enjoying every bite, while their mother happily watched her sons eat up. Sora ate a little slower than usual, but both Midoriya family members could easily chalk that up to the Keyblade wielder still being in a process of recovery, meaning that he would have to do a few things slower than he normally would.
By the time that Sora was halfway through with his meal, Izuku was finished with his. Inko took his plate and went to wash it, leaving the two alone for a bit. Sora then decided to ask the young Midoriya something. "By the way, what did I miss while I was gone?"
"Huh?" Izuku replied.
"I know you and the others couldn't have done nothing while I was away, so what happened?" The Keyblade wielder said.
"Oh, well I couldn't really tell you. I was out for a few days, then the class visited me when I woke up, and then we talked about you and Kacchan before some of us...you know." The One For All user informed him.
"Got it." Sora understood. "I'm going to need to thank the others when I get back to U.A. and also make sure that the rest of my friends know I'm okay."
"Do you want to use my phone and talk to them right now?" Izuku offered.
"Thanks, but I'll use my phone when I get it back from Moogle." Sora said.
"Wait. Moogle has your phone?" The young Midoriya questioned.
"Detective Tsukauchi found it and he told me that he sent it to Moogle to check if anything happened to it." The Keyblade wielder explained. "So when school opens up again, I'll get it from him."
"Hm...I guess that's okay." Izuku was a bit unsure about that.
Sora noticed that and added another reason why. "Plus, I think telling my classmates and other friends in U.A. in person will also be a better idea, than just sending a message on a phone. Just a feeling, you know?"
The young Midoriya figured out what Sora was saying. He implied that there were some students that wanted to see him in person, most likely referencing the letters that he and a certain four others wrote, without directly mentioning it. Izuku nodded and replied "Yeah, I can see that."
Inko had come back Sora soon finished his dinner, letting her take his plate to wash it. The One For All user then spoke up once more. "So Sora..."
"What's up?" The Keyblade wielder replied.
"Are you...going to be okay, after all you went through?" The young Midoriya asked.
"You're talking about the videos, aren't you?" Sora guessed.
"Well...you went through a lot and...I just..." He really couldn't figure out how to say what he wanted to say.
"I'll be fine, Izuku." The Keyblade wielder assured him. "I admit, having all that happen to me sucked. But I'm not going to let it get to me."
"I'm sorry, but how?" Midoriya bluntly asked. "How in the world can you just move past that, like it's just another day for you?"
"Two reasons." Sora said. "One, always having that on my mind will distract me from getting stronger, so I can beat him in our rematch. And two, Vanitas gets stronger through negative emotions, and dwelling on that is just going to help him out. So that's why not only am I going to move past it, but so will you and everyone else who knows what happened to me."
"Is that why you're waiting to get your phone back? So that way you know who you need to talk to and reassure that you're fine?" Izuku realized.
"That and sending a message on my phone will be both easier and more effective for me." The Keyblade wielder said.
Inko came back and then spoke to Sora. "The couch is ready for you, Sora."
"Thanks, though I doubt I'll be sleeping tonight." He replied.
"Why's that?" She asked.
"I kind of slept for the entire day today and woke up at sunset, sooo yeah." The guardian of light stated.
"Honestly, me too." Izuku spoke up. "When I got home earlier today, I passed out, then woke up a little while earlier. I doubt I'll be able to sleep either."
"Well that's good. Maybe you can help me with something then." Sora suggested.
"Help with what?" The young Midoriya asked.
"Well, I already have a LOT of things that I want to get done tomorrow, but I have no idea how to go about it." Sora said. "You know how to plan for stuff, so maybe you can help me plan how to do all the things I want to get done tomorrow?"
"Wait a minute." Inko spoke up. "Don't you even think about going off and working yourself to near death again before you've even recovered, young man."
"It's not work." Sora told her. "I just want to get some things like clothes and some ingredients for recipes."
"Recipes?" Izuku repeated. "For what?"
"After all that Yuga did at the camp, I am making him the full menu at the Bistro that I worked at." Sora pointed out. "Not just for him almost saving Katsuki, but for him also sticking up for Momo when Minoru begged to switch partners, and other things."
"Jeez." the young Midoriya replied. "Always so considerate, even when it's at your own expense."
"Like you're any better." Sora retorted.
Izuku couldn't argue with that. "Fair point."
The Keyblade wielder smirked before speaking up again. "And about the clothes, I want to get another set of the clothes that I had at the summer camp, since the set I had got kind of, you know, burnt to dust."
"Really?" The One For All user asked.
"Yeah. Come on. You've got to admit that I rocked that look." Sora said.
"Well...You're not wrong." Izuku replied. "But are you sure you can afford getting another set of those clothes and also getting ingredients for a whole restaurant menu's worth of food?"
"Wouldn't you also need containers to store all of that food too?" Inko added.
"Oh, yeah. Good point." Sora admitted. "Well, I'm sure I can figure something out."
The three of them continued this discussion for a while, until Inko began to feel tired and excused herself to go to bed and sleep, leaving the two boys to quietly plan for tomorrow throughout the night.
[Silence]
The next day came, and over at U.A. High, Principal Nezu was in his office, and had Vlad King, Aizawa, and Toshinori there to discuss the future of the school, but not before giving his appreciation to the now retired Number 1 Hero. "Thank you, All Might." He said. "You've saved thousands of peoples lives over these many years, though it cost you your body and strength."
[Play Boku no Hero Academia OST From Me To You]
He turned to face Yagi. "As a citizen, a Hero, and the principal, I cannot express how grateful we all are to you." He picked up a news report. "However, given everything that's happened, there are many who do not believe you should continue as a teacher in U.A. Some are pointing out that our troubles began when you started working here. They're worried that the children will continue to be caught in the crossfire, and that you can't protect them anymore. It is a delicate situation. Nevertheless, I believe I know what we need to do to ease the concerns the public has expressed. We must strengthen the faith people have in the Heroes we have left. It's true, the threat we face is still troubling, but we will protect and train with more focus and diligence than ever before." He then pulled out another sheet of paper. "That is why we're going to implement a plan I've had in my mind for a while." He presented the paper to the three, showing that it was a notice of introduction to a Dormitory System for all U.A. residents. "I'm counting on you to convince the student's families." The three teachers each received a copy and soon left the room.
[Silence]
While Vlad King and Aizawa both went to the entrance and entered their cars, Toshinori went to another room in U.A. first, to check up on something.

Inside of the Development studio, Moogle was busy looking into something when he heard a knock on the door outside. "Who is it, Kupo?"
"It's All Might." Yagi answered.
"Come on in, Kupo." The chibi merchant said.
The door slid open and Toshinori came in. "So, what's the status on Sora's phone?"
"Well, Kupo..." Moogle began before turning back to the device in question. "Whoever Vanitas gave this phone to was smart enough to bypass the security measures on the phone and disable it's locking software, effectively allowing anyone to peek at whatever they wanted on here, Kupo."
"We figured that much." Yagi replied. "Otherwise Vanitas wouldn't have been able to record those videos and send them to everyone on Sora's contacts."
"Well, he also had the first of those videos uploaded onto the phone from a different device, Kupo." The merchant added. "But that's not even the worst of it, Kupo."
[Play FF7 Remake OST The Pursuit - The Man in the Lab Coat]
"What is?" Toshinori asked.
"The worst part is that I can't tell if anything was taken, Kupo." Moogle replied. "We both know all of the sensitive information on this phone, if shown to the wrong people, could cause as much mass hysteria as All For One beating you around did, Kupo."
"I understand that, but how would you be able to tell if anything was copied or downloaded from there?" Yagi wondered.
"Because I linked my phone to it when you gave it to me, Kupo. And when I did, it showed me the history of the data present on it, Kupo." Moogle answered. "And the history shows that there was no data copied or downloaded from it, Kupo."
"Wouldn't that mean that nobody downloaded anything then?" Toshinori questioned.
"Normally yes, Kupo." The chibi merchant replied. "But then there was an inconsistency that I noticed while looking through the history, Kupo. It also showed no data being uploaded to the phone, nor did it show the deletion of the locking software on the history, Kupo. All it has is the history of the latter two videos being recorded and sent, Kupo."
"Are you saying that whoever tampered with Sora's phone also managed to wipe off parts of it's upload and download history?" Yagi realized.
"Effectively covering their tracks and simultaneously giving themselves a trail to follow, if they did in fact upload something else along with the first video, Kupo." Moogle confirmed. "I've been looking through every single file on this phone, all the way down to it's lines of code, and I'm only about halfway done, Kupo. I am not taking any chances, Kupo. Until I can say with absolute certainty that nothing has been added onto the phone, aside from that one video, this stays with me and me only, Kupo."
"Understood." Toshinori said. "Can you give me a possible time frame to expect you to be finished?"
"Three days at most, Kupo." The merchant answered. "After I check for and remove any and all added contents to the phone, I will also need to reinstall and upgrade the security measures on this thing, Kupo. Once that's finished, I'll personally deliver it to Sora and explain to him how to unlock his phone, Kupo."
"Got it." Yagi replied before heading to the exit. "I hope it goes well for you."
"And I hope that the dorm discussions go well for you, Kupo." Moogle gave the retired Hero his best wishes before going back to his extremely thorough examination of the Gummiphone.
With that, Toshinori left and went to Aizawa's car to accompany him on the 1-A student's parent meetings, with the two making a silent bet at how many parents would take some serious convincing, with Aizawa saying almost all of them, to Yagi saying not that many, but probably Katsuki's.
[Silence]
The first stop was the Jiro household, as it was the closest. The pair were let inside and when they explained the Dorm plan, Kyouka's father was the first to reply. "I don't know. It sounds pretty out of tune to me. I get that you guys don't want to keep talking about what happened, but moving the kids into dorms isn't going to change the fact that my daughter was injured."
"What you're saying is quite true, Mr. Jiro." Aizawa said. "However, I'd like to assure you that this is not a matter of U.A.'s pride. We thought long and hard on the issue and believe this to be the best course of action. I hope you will give us the honor of continuing to teach Kyouka. I believe wholeheartedly that U.A. can help her grow into the best Hero she can be."
Speaking of Kyouka, she walked into the room with drinks and heard that last part. "Whoa. No need for you to be all formal, Mr. Aizawa. We decided what to do right after we got the notice in the mail. I mean, you should have heard my old man during All Might's fight." She then did an impression of her father. " 'My daughter's teacher is so hardcore, man! That battlefield is a stadium and he's rockin it down!' Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was crying."
"KYOUKA COME ON!" Her father responded to that. "I WAS TRYING TO ACT ALL STRICT AND STUFF TO THESE DUDES!"
"Oh chill, dad." She replied.
"Hey, cut it out, you two." Kyouka's mom spoke up. "Save the aggression for your music." Nevertheless the answer was yes from the Jiro family, so the two teachers left to continue their task.
Next up, they visited the Aoyama household, which also had no issue allowing Yuga to move to the dorms. In fact, they heavily encouraged it, along with the Kirishimas for Ejiro, the Tokoyamis for Fumikage. The Mineta, Iida, Koda, Sato and Sero families were also willing to let their respective children move into the dorms, expressing slight concerns, but still having faith in the Heroes that work at U.A. The Asui family expressed more concerns, but were still willing to let Tsuyu go. The Hagakure, Ashido, and Yaoyorozu families all also expressed these concerns for their respective daughters, but were easily convinced nonetheless. And now there were eight people left to interview.

While driving to the next house, Aizawa noticed something. "You know. I thought the parents would come down on us a lot harder. I suppose I owe you a drink."
Yagi let out a chuckle. "No thanks. I can't drink. Besides, it's not a contest. Plus, the next family probably won't be so easy." He referred to the Bakugos, as they were on their way to their household.
When the pair arrived and explained what U.A. was planning, the reaction was honestly the most unexpected. Mitsuki inadvertently slapped the back of Katsuki's head as she cheered. "You kidding!? Hell yeah, get this kid in a dorm room!"
"YOU HAG!" Katsuki roared out. "HIT ME AGAQIN AND I'LL KILL YO..." He was cut off by Matsuki slapping him on the back of the head again, this time on purpose.
"OH HUSH!" She barked back. "IF YOU HADN'T BEEN SO DAMN WEAK, YOU WOULD HAVEN NEVER GOTTEN CAUGHT AND CAUSED ALL THAT TROUBLE!"
As the two aggressive blondes were at each other's throats, Masaru, the father of Katsuki, was the only level headed one here. "Come on, you two. Please, no fighting. We don't want to frighten the teachers, do we?"
"SHUT IT, YOU CLOWN!" Katsuki barked at his father. "MIND YOUR OWN BUISNESS!"
"YEAH! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO NEEDS TO BUD UP!" Mitsuki stepped in again, then she noticed her son's palms begin to glow, prompting her to angrily pinch his ears. "OH DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT USING YOUR QUIRK, KATSUKI!"
[Silence]
As the two teachers saw this unfold, Aizawa eventually managed to say what he wanted to. "So...you're saying you give us your consent?"
Mitsuki brought her attention back to the teachers, before slapping the back of Katsuki's head again, grabbing him there and making him bow his head with her arm. "Oh, the dorm? Actually, we're grateful." She let go of her son. "Katsuki's fearless and good at everything he tries, especially since he's got that stupid awesome quirk. People were always fawning over him, whether he deserved it or not. It's probably why he ended up like this."
[Play Boku no Hero Academia OST Can't Look In The Eyes Of Serenity]
"That's why I liked what you said at the press conference." She brought up Mr. Aizawa seeing Katsuki's drive and albeit shaky rivalry with his fellow student Sora. "See, that's when I understood that the school was watching him closely. I was worried about the kid obviously and didn't know what would happen. But he's back now, safe and sound so it worked out. I'm sure U.A. will face harsh criticism from some people. We still trust you though, so we'll leave him to you. Right?" Masaru nodded to that. Mitsuki gently rubbed her son's head before making him bow with her and Masaru. "He's a hot-tempered brat, and we know he's a pain, but please train him hard and make him a good Hero."
Toshinori then lightly nudged at Aizawa, before whispering "I owe you a drink for this one."
[Silence]
The two of them left the house and were about to reach the car "Let's see. Midoriya's house is close by, isn't it? And Sora lives with him, so we can deal with both of them at once."
"All Might." They heard Katsuki's voice, and saw the boy approach Toshinori. He stopped at the edge of the property. "I've got to know. What exactly is Deku to you?"
After a brief moment of silence, Yagi responded. "He's my student. Just like you. A fledgling Hero with bright prospects."
Mitsuki's voice was heard. "DAMN IT KATSUKI! THE POLICE SAID NOT TO GO WANDERING OFF BY YOURSELF!"
"Yeah sure. If you don't want to tell me, that's fine." Bakugo calmly began to walk back to his house. "Oh, and thank you."
"KATSUKI!" His mom angrily called him again.
"I HEARD YOU!" He annoyingly called back.
After that, Toshinori and Aizawa drove over to the apartment that the Midoriya family resided in. Yagi exited the vehicle and then proposed the idea of splitting up. "You sure you'll be alright by yourself?" The 1-A Homeroom teacher asked.
"Yeah." Toshinori replied. "We need to sit down with everyone in class A by days end, right? So we'll divide and conquer. I'll take this place, and you move on to the next person we have to convince."
Seeing the merit of that logic, Aizawa left to go to the next house, while Yagi made his way to the Midoriya house. When he knocked on the door, he saw two people answer it. Inko and Izuku stood there, trembling for a moment while the Midoriya mother spoke up. "Oh, please come on inside. We're so honored."
"Thank you." Toshinori replied.
Both Midoriya's turned around and let him come in, both feeling a bit overwhelmed. "I can't believe All Might is in our home." Inko muttered.
"Be cool, mom. It's totally fine." Izuku muttered back.
While walking to the living room, Yagi noticed Izuku's door to his room was open, and he also noticed the many MANY All Might related products and posters that decorated it. He simply smiled and walked past the room, focused on the task that he came here to do.

As the three made their way to the living room, Toshinori noticed one more person. Sora was in the middle of going through what seemed to be a multi-layered checklist, seeing what he needed to get, where to get it, and how quickly he could get these things. Then he heard Inko's voice. "Sora, we have a guest."
"Hm?" The Keyblade wielder looked up and recognized who was with her and Izuku. "Oh, hey. Nice to see you again Yagi. Welcome." He said with a calm smile on his face.
"It's nice to see you again too, Young Sora." Toshinori replied. "How's your recovery?"
"I'd say after one more batch of Inko's cooking, and one more good night's rest, I'll be good to go." Sora answered.
"That's good to hear." Yagi said.
Sora then gestured to the seat next to him. "Go ahead and sit."
Toshinori looked over to Inko, who then spoke up. "Please, take a seat. I'll get some refreshments."
"Thank you, ma'am." The former Pro Hero said to her, before sitting in the chair next to Sora.
[Silence]
Inko brought refreshments and then she and Izuku sat on the opposite side of the table. Yagi then got down to business. "You probably already know why I'm here." He said. "You received a notice that U.A. is moving our students to dormitories?"
"Yes. About that. I read the letter." Inko stated. "I technically don't have any legal custody over Sora, so the choice for him moving will be left up to him." She pointed out. "As for Izuku..." She paused for a brief moment. "I won't allow it."
This actually shocked Izuku and Sora, while the former spoke up. "Wait, what? But yesterday, you said…" he was cut off by his mother.
[Play Boku no Hero Academia OST From Me To You]
"I've thought about it since then, and I've changed my mind." She spoke up before talking to Toshinori. "Izuku has admired you for so long, even though he never developed a quirk as a kid. And then, miraculously, one suddenly appeared. But ever since enrolling at U.A. both of these boys just kept getting hurt. Just look at Izuku. Do you know about his arms? If he injured them any more, he might not ever be able to move them again. And I don't even need to bring up the three videos that showed Sora being tortured, molested and beaten to near death. Even if you didn't see those videos, you saw the aftermath of them when Sora's broken body was slammed to the ground in front of you. I watched you on TV and I saw what that mad did to you, and what the boy after him would have finished if Sora hadn't caught him off guard. As a regular citizen, I'm so thankful for your bravery, but as a mother, I was beyond terrified. Izuku wants to be just like you, and Sora promised me that he would help him do that, but if they follow your path, their futures will be filled with blood, so I'm sorry, but Izuku is my son." She held back tears, and struggled to say what she wanted to. "Forgive me, Izuku. Back when you were quirkless, you were always so happy just watching the Heroes do their jobs. Maybe it was better that way, I don't know."
That last line made the young Midoriya speak up. "That's not true!"
"Honey...I told you that I'd support you, but that I wouldn't stop worrying. Do you remember that? And I know that all you want is to keep going to U.A. but, I can't take it anymore." Inko reminded him. "And after what happened with Sora, I know that he can't keep you safe without getting himself even more injured than you, which only makes me feel worse, as we've come to treat him like a member of our family."
Izuku couldn't say anything against that, and while Sora probably could, he stayed out of this, as this wasn't about him. Inko then spoke to Yagi again, while some tears left her eyes. "I'll speak frankly, sir. As Izuku's mother, I don't have the nerves I'd need to entrust my son to U.A. Not with everything that's happened to your school. It doesn't matter what a wonderful Hero you are. When the Villains attacked, every class had to be canceled, and you couldn't stop your students from getting seriously injured, almost killed. I won't put my son in danger. It's my duty as his mother. To keep him safe."
"Ma'am." Yagi was about to respond to her, but her blood related son beat him to it.
"It's not like that mom!" He told her. "It's my own fault that I kept getting hurt! The teachers warned me over and over again, but I didn't listen!"
"So you're saying you didn't learn? Don't you think that means the school is responsible?" She pointed out.
"Young man...sit down." Toshinori said to him.
"I might be acting like an overprotective parent, but I'm at peace with that. And while I don't want to steal my son's dream away from him...he can always go to a different school. There are lots of other Hero courses out there, besides the one at U.A." Inko finalized. Izuku looked over to Sora, who didn't say anything. The One For All user then ran to his room. "Izuku!" She called to him, but he slammed the door behind him.
[Silence]
Sora stood up and was about to go talk to the young Midoriya, but Yagi put a hand on his shoulder. "I haven't heard your answer yet, Young Sora."
The Keyblade wielder watched as Inko got up out of her seat and went to the door, so he knew that she would go talk to Izuku. Sora then spoke up. "I..."
The door slammed open and Izuku was back with a piece of paper in his hands. "Mom. It doesn't have to be U.A." This actually surprised everyone in the room, before the One For All user showed the paper in his hands to them. "Here, look at this. You too, All Might, Sora."
[Play Boku no Hero Academia OST Surpassing You]
It was Kota's letter. "I got a letter at the hospital. It's from the boy I saved at the training camp. Kota, someone who hated Heroes and Quirks, wrote to thank me for saving him. I know I'm hopeless and make you worry all the time, but still...when I read this note, even if it was just for a moment, it made me feel like a real Hero. I was so happy." He had a determined look in his eyes. "I know who I'm meant to be, and that's what I'll train for! At U.A. or not, I swear it!"
Toshinori was so taken aback that he didn't care about keeping his goal for Midoriya a secret anymore. He buffed up to his muscle form in front of the three walked to Inko, kneeled in front of her and told her straight. "I believe I haven't been up front, ma'am. Please allow me to try again." He said. "I believe that Young Izuku is the right person to succeed me. That is, he is my choice to become the world's next Symbol of Peace."
That statement shook the two Midoriya's to the core, while Sora watched from where he was standing. "Hold on." Inko responded. "What are you saying, All Might? What is this?"
"It's an apology." All Might answered. "As the one who held that title, I allowed myself to remain his Hero, rather than give my all as his teacher. I'm sorry." He began to steam up before losing his muscle form, slightly freaking the two Midoriya's out. "As a U.A. teacher, I implore you to forgive my past weakness. It's true that my path has been filled with blood, but that is what makes me the right person to help him find his own way, free of the mistakes that I made as a young Hero."
"Don't do this, All Might." Izuku uttered, as he and his mother were both getting overwhelmed from this.
Yagi didn't stop and continued to speak to Inko. "The Heroes at U.A. know that things can't continue as they have been. We're committed to ensuring the safety of our students from here on out. It's our top priority. Look not at the current U.A. but toward the future. Will you allow me to devote myself to young Izuku? Together we will go beyond. I will lift him up. And I will protect your son, even if it costs me my life."
[Silence]
That last statement made Inko drop to her knees, startling Izuku and Sora. "Are you okay?" They both said as the Keyblade wielder rushed to her side.
Inko looked at Toshinori and uttered out. "I can't...I mean...you are Izuku's reason for living." Yagi looked at her as she continued to speak. "It's not that I hate you or U.A. It's just...I want Izuku to be safe and happy." Her expression changed to a more calmed one as she gave one demand. "All Might, don't give up your life. He needs you, to protect him, raise him. And as much as I know Sora can do that, I don't want the burden to be placed on him anymore."
[Play Boku no Hero Academia OST Feeling of Paring]
"If you can promise me that, then...he can return to U.A." She told him.
Izuku had tears in his eyes. "Oh mom..."
Toshinori put his head back down. "I promise."
"Izuku, if you're going to go back to this school, you have to be SO careful." Inko told her son.
Izuku wiped away his tears. "Of course. I won't make you worry."
Sora then stepped in. "I'll make sure to call and keep you posted on what we're doing."
"I guess that means that you're going back too, Sora?" Inko noted.
"I know that Vanitas will come back for me, no matter where I go." The Keyblade wielder told her. "I have to get stronger, so that I can be ready for when he does come for me again, and U.A. is the best place for me to do that. Plus, there's a lot of people who are going to want to see me after what happened recently. So yeah, I'll move into the dorms."
Inko then spoke to Yagi. "Mr. All Might...please...take good care of my boys."
With their mother's approval, Sora and Izuku escorted Toshinori out of their living space and to the roadside, where the teacher called for a cab.
[Silence]
While the trio waited for the cab to arrive, Yagi spoke to Midoriya. "You have a really good mother."
Izuku had a modest smile on his face. "I do." Sora smiled too.
"You know, she reminds me of my predecessor." Toshinori noted.
Both boys were surprised by that. "She does?" Midoriya spoke up. "Wait. How so?"
"It's the hairstyle." Yagi answered.
Sora held in a chuckle before replying to that. "Ok."
Toshinori then did a weak flex. "And she's got the heart of a Hero."
"Ew. Look at that walking skeleton." A random pedestrian commented on Yagi's appearance, before realizing who that was. "Wait, hold on. You don't think that's All Might, do you?" She said to her friend.
Before any more people could walk by and have the chance to recognize the former Pro, the cab he called arrived and he hurriedly entered it. "Well, see you both at school."
"Right." Both boys said together, as they watched Toshinori leave.
[Play KH Project Destati: Awakening -Treasured Memories-]
Sora and Izuku looked back at their shared home, seeing Inko look at them with tears in her eyes, as she was still worried about them going, even after she gave her permission. The Keyblade wielder then gestured for the pair to go back inside, which Midoriya was fine with, as he needed to start packing anyway. As the pair made it back inside their home, both began packing their things, while Inko assisted both of them when they asked her.
After that, the Midoriya's helped Sora out with his checklist, heading to multiple grocery stores to get all of the ingredients and a few coolers to store them, and over to Kiyashi Ward to get the set of clothes that would replace the set that was destroyed during and after the training camp incident.
Meanwhile, the teachers went through the rest of the students throughout the day and got their answers. The Kaminari, Shoji and Ojiro families were fine with letting their respective sons move into the dorms. Ochako's parents weren't living with her, but she called them up and when they heard about the idea, they were willing to let her move to the dorms, though they were still worried for their daughter. And lastly, Endeavor granted the request of U.A., as he was not in the mood to talk, and just let them do what they wanted, so Shoto was allowed to move out.
As the other 20 members of Class 1-A began to pack up their things, most of the parents had the same mixed feelings about their children moving out. On one hand, they were justifiably anxious, and sometimes would recommend things that wouldn't really be necessary to take to the dorms, like Momo's mom recommending a massive tea set and evening dresses, or Kyouka's dad recommending a few more instruments than the ones she already planned on taking. Another thing that most of them justifiably felt was fear, as now that their children were leaving their homes to live in the dorms, the parents won't be able to see their kids that often, or be able to check up on them whenever. The extra layer of both assurance and security that the children had was no longer going to be filled in by the parents, and it made said parents worry.
But those same parents didn't only feel negative about their children leaving. In fact, it was actually the opposite, as while the anxiety and fear were present, they were greatly overshadowed by one more, very positive feeling, and that feeling was pride. The parents were proud of their children, having been able to watch and help their children grow up and become their own people. It was also going to be a new chapter in their child's life, and even though it would be without them at their child's side, they were confident enough in their child to know that they can take care of themself.
As the next two days went by, everyone had packed up their things, taking the necessities and a few extra things as either memento, said extra item could serve a practical purpose, or personal reasons. Some people, like Momo and Yuga, had a lot of things in their luggage, while others, like Ochako and Mezo didn't bring much at all. Though everyone all had the same mind when it came to packing their things. When they were finished, they knew that they were finished. There was no second guessing, there was no unnecessary clutter, and there was no item in the boxes or cases that was going to stay in there. Everything that was chosen had a purpose, be they actual tools and bare necessities, or decoration for their rooms to give said room personality.
On the morning of the third day, Sora and Izuku had gotten themselves dressed into their school uniforms and went through one final checkup on their lists of what they were going to bring. They both planned on bringing multiple sets of clothes, bathroom supplies, and whatever hair and skin care products they used on themselves.
For Midoriya personally, he was going to bring his training gear, his plethora of notebooks and writing equipment, his All Might posters, figures, curtains, basically any All Might memorabilia he could take that wouldn't clutter up too much space.
And for Sora, well he didn't really have much to take, aside from two coolers worth of ingredients he is going to go through when he finds a kitchen at U.A., the pictures and notes that were sent by his friends in that chest that washed up Dagoba Beach way back near the beginning of this journey, and a few decorations and furniture that he managed to buy with some reserve savings that Inko allowed him to use.
As the two of them mentally checked off everything on their lists, they looked at each other and nodded, both prepared to walk out of the entrance to Inko's home, but not before saying goodbye to her.
The Midoriya mother walked with the two boys to the entrance and helped them with getting their stuff into the moving vehicle. The two boys faced her and they both hugged her, which she reciprocated. When they broke their hug, Inko spoke up. "Goodbye you two. Be safe."
"Goodbye mom." Both boys said in unison, which surprised all three of them.
"U-Uh, sorry. I didn't mean..." Sora stuttered.
"No. It's fine." Inko stopped him. "I actually...liked that you said that."
"Oh...well..." The Keyblade wielder was a bit unsure of what to say after that.
"You can go ahead and call me that from now on." She gave him permission.
"I-I...I..." Sora struggled to respond to that. Inko then hugged him again, and he hugged her back a little tighter. "Thank you...for everything."
"And thank you, for everything you've done for me and Izuku." The Midoriya mother replied to him. When the two eventually broke their hug, the two boys began to leave and she repeated what she said before. "I mean it. Be safe you two. Especially you, Izuku. Be extra careful."
"I will, mom." The young Midoriya told her.
"I'll make sure he does. You don't have to worry about that, In...I mean, mom." Sora corrected himself. "That's going to take some getting used to."
And with that, the pair left for U.A. High, prepared to start a whole new chapter in their lives. And it wasn't just them. The other 19 students of class 1-A had also left their homes, along with the students of 1-B, the second and third year Hero Course students, the Support Course students, the students in General Studies, the Management Course students, every student that was learning at U.A. had left their homes and were all on their way to the school, fully prepared to start this new chapter.
And here we go. It's time to say goodbye to Inko for a while. And while Sora will of course keep her posted, he's not going to see her for a time, just like how most of the other students won't be able to see their parents for a time as well. Now that we're here, it's time for another school briefs book to begin being covered and adapted into this fic. This time, we're going into Volume three, as that one covers the first few days in the dorm rooms. And we'll also be covering the dorm room shenanigans in the anime as well, so for anybody who thought that the dorms was going to be one or two chapters, I'm sorry to disappoint, but it will be at least four, but those four chapters will still be entertaining. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and until I decide to upload again. ;)
