Azura sat on the platform sniffling softly as Ratchet was working on something and the kids were trying to reach Agent Fowler. She held her toy tightly as she was very upset that Optimus had left. She wanted to finish eating too, as she still felt peckish and needed to fill her tank with low-grade energon. Bulkhead was pacing impatiently, which was not helping to lower the tension in the room. Not was it making jeez feel better. It just made her think that something bad would happen, and Azura was not sure yet on how to feel about that.
Jack walked over to Azura and placed his hand on her back gently, making her jump in surprise and look at him with wide optics. "It's just me, Azura. Sorry for scaring you." She stared at him for a moment and looked away from him. "It will be okay. I know you are probably feeling a lot of emotions right now. I know Optimus was right in letting you come with us in helping you retrieve the energon harvester, but given what happened outside the museum, and that Soundwave saw you…"
"I just want daddy to stay…is that too selfish of me to ask?" Azura asked in a very soft, shy tone when she interrupted Jack. Bulkhead looked towards Azura as he overheard her words. "I…I know he's the leader, and he must lead by example…but I wish he would stay. Plus, I'm still hungry." She sniffled as tears fall from her optics. "But does that make me selfish?"
Jack shook his head. "No, not at all. You're just a baby." She frowned immediately and he chuckled softly. "You already know this to be true, Azura. You're an infant Cybertronian, and it's okay to want Optimus as close as possible as often as possible. It is not selfish. Not is it selfish of Optimus putting the concern of safety for you and all other autobots first, and to engage in a potential risk that could cause his energon to be drained from his body."
"Jack is right, Azura." Azura flinched and looked at Bulkhead with a slight frown. "None of us here are going to tell you that you are selfish for wanting to spend time with your carrier. I guess the downside of having a Prime as a parent is that a Prime is a leader. And leaders must do what they need to do." Bulkhead glanced towards Raf who was still trying to reach Fowler and looked back at Azura. "If you feel guilty for wanting his affection and attention, don't be. Just remind yourself that your carrier is not making an easy choice either. I have no doubt in my mind that Optimus would prefer to be here with you."
Azura listened to Bulkhead and tightened her arms around her toy. "It did not seem like a hard decision on his part. But maybe it is just from my perspective." She sniffled loudly and wiped a tear from her face. "I just…want him here, Bulkhead."
"I know." Bulkhead smiled at Azura before he gasped when he had an idea and leaned down to talk quietly so Ratchet would not here. "Maybe later, you and I can go somewhere and have a little rock and roll. Does that sound like fun?" Azura did not know what he meant by that, but it sounded interesting. "I promise you won't be hurt. Besides…" He lifts his hand and Azura flinched as he wiped his hand on her shoulder. "You will only get dusty like today."
Azura thought about it and hummed softly. "If daddy lets me go with you, Bulkhead, I will say yes." She smiled at him and Bulkhead was pleased to get a smile out of the girl. "I do not know what you have in mind exactly, but it has been a while since we spent time with each other. You spend more time with Miko than you do me."
"Oh, I am sorry. But I guess Miko and I both have a hot head and we enjoy a lot of the same things, so I haven't really thought that it would bother you that much. But I will try to do better. Especially since you see me as…a brother or uncle?" Azura just shrugged with a cheeky smile, and Bulkhead rolled his optics. "Never mind…that reminds of something I have to tell Miko to do." Azura's smile dropped suddenly, and she frowned. "Don't worry, Azura, I will make sure we have fun together."
"So long as it does not involve any kind of rough housing," Ratchet said bluntly as he zoned in on what Bulkhead was telling Azura, and he worked out that Bulkhead wanted to do something with her. "You know very well that Optimus will not appreciate if you take her out and she returns injured. Actually, no, he will be furious most likely."
"I am fully aware of that, doc. I am not as stupid as everyone seems to think I am." Bulkhead shook his head and looked at Azura. "Can you believe it? Do you think that I am stupid?" She shook her head and hid her mouth with the toy. "Ooh, you're just saying that to be nice, aren't you?" Azura smirked and giggled, trying to not laugh too loudly. Bulkhead smirked as he playfully put his hands on his hips. "That is not very nice, Azura. Everybody knows that I am not as stupid as I seem to be. Even though you did watch me get thrown like a ragdoll earlier."
Azura giggled some more, and she shrugged. "I think you're smarter than me at least."
"I don't think so. You're way ahead of your age." Bulkhead chuckled and Azura shook her head. "I am not joking about that, Azura. But you already know the reason why that would be the case. And you should be very happy about it."
"You've reached Special Agent William Fowler, I'm currently on an intensive training retreat and unavailable til Tuesday."
Bulkhead grumbled a little as he heard the repeat of the voice mail as Rafael tried to call him again. The boy looked at Bulkhead with an apologetic expression. "Still no answer."
Bulkhead grumbled again and clenched his fist in frustration. "Fowler's lounging around some poolside cabana while we need his help…"
He groaned loudly and slammed his fist down on a tool, making Azura shriek and jump to her feet in fright. Ratchet looked at the tool angrily and glared at Bulkhead. "Bulkhead! I needed that!" He glanced at Azura when he saw her run behind Jack as she had also been startled by Ratchet angry snap. "And well done for scaring Azura."
"It wasn't just me, Ratchet!" Bulkhead snapped back angrily and shook his head. "It is so annoying that when we need Fowler's help, he is not here to assist us! But when he needs our help…ugh, it is just so annoying!"
Azura whimpered a little and sat on a chair, feeling silly for hiding behind Jack. He did not seem to mind as he rubbed her back gently. "Don't feel bad about getting such a fright, Azura. I feel kind of honoured you would come to me to seek out comfort or someone for protection when needed." Azura looked away as she did still feel a bit embarrassed. "I don't think you should feel that embarrassed."
Azura shrugged without saying anything and looked at Bulkhead as he kept talking. "We can free Miko if we can just return that harvester to the museum."
Ratchet frowned at Bulkhead's idea. "So the decepticons can steal it all over again?"
Bulkhead widened his optics as he realized what he had just suggested. "I am so dumb!" He sighed and looked at Azura. "Now you see why I am no see as the brightest?"
"Making a bad suggestion does not make you dumb. You just weren't thinking straight," Azura responded shyly. "It happens to everyone."
"So how are we going to help Miko?" Jack asked curiously as he kept rubbing Azura's back. "If we can't get a hold of Fowler, we need to figure something out. I know the police will eventually arrive at the museum and deal with her than, and we might have a bigger problem."
Ratchet raised his hand to show what he was working on. Azura quickly noticed what he was holding almost looked like the harvester, but it was unfinished. "We will help her by replacing the harvester with this replica. The construction of which, would be going a whole lot faster if Bulkhead hadn't just mangled my frame welder!"
"We're already trespassers and thieves, why not add forgery to the list?" Jack said in a sarcastic tone and Azura just frowned at him. "I know the harvester did not originally belong to the museum, but no one would have known that until today."
Azura shook her head at him. "Come on, Jack…it's not forgery! It is a weapon that is dangerous! It would only be forgery if it was a piece of art, not a weapon. At least what Ratchet is making will only be a normal sphere, not a weapon that can drain energon out of anything."
"Azura's right, Jack," Rafael said softly with a slight frown. "Especially since the energon harvester was never a human invention."
"Correct." Ratchet huffed as he sat back down to continue working on the fake harvester. "And now I need to work faster, thanks very much, Bulkhead."
Bulkhead groaned as he looked away. "I wish I'd never taken Miko to the…" Bulkhead paused for a moment and seemed to realize something. "The painting of the harvester isn't the only thing we found at those ruins."
Ratchet frowned and looked at Bulkhead with narrowed optics. "I'm sorry?"
"Starscream's not dumb!" Bulkhead continued and Azura knew immediately that Bulkhead was talking about the energon veins that the humans had unearthed at the Greek ruin site. "No matter what kind of tool he has. He's gonna take the easy route." He walked over to the bridge controls to put coordinates in. "And I bet I know he is there right now."
"Bulkhead, Optimus ordered you to stay to help me with Azura," Ratchet said in a warning tone. "And going after Starscream alone, while he has the harvester, is not a good idea."
"I know, doc. That is why you are going inform Optimus and I will meet him there." Bulkhead activates the ground bridge and Azura watched with worried optics. "I will at least observe what Starscream is doing and await his arrival." Bulkhead ran into the vortex before Ratchet could say anything.
Ratchet groaned and stood up from sitting on the crate to open the communication link. "Optimus, Bulkhead has just left the base to return to the location where the painting of the harvester was located. It seems he believes that Starscream will be there. I am not entirely sure why, as the big brute decided not to inform me of…"
"Energon." Ratchet looked at Azura when the girl spoke up. "We found energon veins while we were there. You remember you detected the signal earlier today, and that is why Bulkhead investigated it. And we found…OOOH!" Azura shrieked as the seat of the chair gave way suddenly from under her weight, and her rear slipped between the bars of the chair. "Ack! This is embarrasing!"
"What happened with Azura?" Optimus asked as he heard her shriek.
Ratchet watched as Azura tried to pull herself out of the chair, only to fall forward and caught herself on the platform. "Azura was sitting on one of the chairs, and she must not have noticed she was too heavy for it. The seat broke and she slipped through. But yes, I did detect the energon at the ruins. It seems I had forgotten this fact. Bulkhead left despite me warning to wait for your command. I will bridge you, Bumblebee and Arcee back to rendezvous with him at the ruins."
"Understood."
Azura whimpered as she felt extremely awkward with not being able to move her legs properly. "Ow…this hurts…" Jack and Raf kneel down to grab the bars of the chair. Azura looked at them as she felt awkward. "Ow…you guys better get it off before daddy gets back."
"It's not like he's going to laugh, Azura. I've never seen him laugh, but maybe he does with you." Jack shrugged and looked at Raf. "Alright, we are going to pull the bars to hopefully get them to pull away." He rubbed his hand along the bars pressing against Azura's thighs and sides. "Hmm…they're firm, but hopefully that won't be a problem."
"Let's count to three," Raf suggests and looked at Azura. "Are you able to reach the railing in front of you?" Azura looked at the railing and reached up to grab them, but she was just not able to. She shook her head and Raf nodded. "Okay. I guess we'll try. One. Two. Three."
Jack and Raf pull at the chair bars to try and slide them off the sparkling's body. The metal of the chair and her body groaned as the metal rubbed together. Azura gripped the floor of the platform and pulled herself forward to try and help. But she was wedged rather too well in the bars of the chair. She whimpered as she could feel the pressure of the boys pulling on the chair, and it was hurting. Ratchet was watching as he activated the bridge to bring back the other autobots. He could see they were struggling, and he sighed deeply.
Optimus was the first to drive through the bridge first and transform. Azura widened her optics and was immediately embarrassed as Optimus walked over to the platform. He saw Jack and Raf were trying to pull the bars of the chair off Azura's body, and it seemed not to be working. Azura whimpered as this was not the ideal situation she wanted him to see, but it was an accident. She didn't know she was too heavy to sit on a chair anymore.
"OW!" Azura exclaimed, making Jack and Raf stop. "That hurts…you guys are trying, I know, but…" She gasped as Optimus reached down to pick her up gently. "Ah, daddy…this is embarrassing…I kind of did not know my own weight…I did not realize I had gotten too heavy to sit on a chair."
Optimus smiled at her as he inspects the chair and how her hips and thighs were lodged in the bars. "Do not feel too embarrassed, Azura. It was an accident. You were not expecting to have put on weight like you had. I would not have been able to tell you myself, if I am honest." Azura guessed that. The autobots probably don't know if there is a weight limit to human chairs, but that did not matter. "Gravity has definitely wedged you in rather too well." Azura whimpered a little as she was nervous about what he would do. "Hmm…Ratchet…"
"Yep, yep, yep! I know!" He exclaimed as Arcee drove into the lobby and transformed. "Let me bring Bumblebee here first. I think I can help, but you three will need to go and assist Bulkhead. I know Azura is in a strange predicament, but Bulkhead could already been in deep scrap as we are talking. If you can't get her out, I will."
Optimus understood as he kept looking closely at the chair for a moment. Arcee walked over to see what had happened and she did not know what to say. "Well…least we know she won't be sitting on a chair again. But that is certainly not what I expected to see when I came back." Azura whimpered a little as Arcee gave her a sympathetic expression. "It is okay, Azura. Little things like this happens to the best of us."
Bumblebee sped into the lobby and he was quick to notice as well as he transformed, running over to see what was happening. "Ooh, now that is unexpected. That looks very uncomfortable."
Azura nodded as it was. "It is very…" She gasped as Optimus gently tugged at the chair, and she felt the bars scraping against her body and it hurt a lot. "That hurt…" She whimpered and sniffled a little. "You should stay…"
Optimus sighed and kissed the top of her head gently as he knew she wanted him here, but he had to go. "I know you want me to, but Bulkhead is putting himself in danger by not waiting for us to assist." She groaned as she knew that. "Ratchet should be able to do a better job than me. You will be okay, Azura. I will be back very soon." Ratchet activates the bridge to Bulkhead's location and Optimus walked over to him to pass her over to him. "I am sorry this is interrupting your work on the creating a replica to put in the museum."
Ratchet gently took the girl from Optimus and looked over the girl for a moment. "Honestly, I will get it done pretty quickly, even if the frame welder was just destroyed by Bulkhead. You go and deal with him, and…" Ratchet paused with a hum as he tugged at the chair frame gently, making Azura whimper in surprise as he had not warned her. "I might need your assistance when you get back, Optimus. But I will try to get this off her. It really looks so uncomfortable."
"It is!" Azura snapped as she let out a sob. "Just pull it off me!"
"I can't pull too hard, Azura, it could pull you in half." She tensed immediately at the very idea of that, and she grimace. Ratchet rubbed her back gently as she looked at him. "I have an idea, but again, Optimus might have to be here to help." She understood and looked at Optimus as he, Bumblebee and Arcee run into the bridge to catch up with Bulkhead. "I just hope that they won't take long."
"Couldn't it be possible to try and move her legs enough, so her metal skin isn't pressing against the bars hard enough and make it easier to remove it?" Jack asked curiously as Ratchet looked at him in surprise. "That is what I think you could try."
"It will hurt!" Azura responded quickly.
"It might hurt, but it won't last long." Ratchet looks at her legs and the chair thoughtfully and nodded. "Yes, I believe it might work. Pressing your thighs a little harder against your hips might give the release we need." Azura shivered as Ratchet walked over to the platform and moved her around under her arms were resting between his fingers and his thumbs were underneath her legs. "Jack, Rafael, if you would please grab a hold of the chair." The two boys were quick to grab the bars and looked at Ratchet as the medic looked at the trembling sparkling. "I know you are afraid, Azura. I fully understand. But know that this will not take long. It will hurt just for a moment. I honestly was going to try oil, but Jack's suggestion is better."
Azura swallowed nervously. "Alright…um…j-just...don't break my legs."
"If I did that, Optimus will not let me hear the end of it for a long time," Ratchet said with a slight smile. "Brace yourself for a moment, Azura." He intakes heavily and pressed his thumbs against her thighs. "Let's give it a try." He pressed Azura's thumbs gently to push them against her waist, making Azura let out cries of pain and discomfort. But the movement alone almost immediately made the chair shift and Ratchet smiled. "I think it is loose, Jack."
Jack and Raf nod before they pulled on the chair, and it slipped off. It didn't scrape against Azura's side thankfully, and she was finally able to relax her legs and she immediately hugged Ratchet, surprising the medic as she sobbed into his shoulder. "Thank you."
Ratchet smiled and rubbed her back gently. "You are welcome, Azura. Do you want to stay on my shoulder while I work on making the replica until Optimus returns with Bulkhead?" Azura nodded and Ratchet happily moved her to his shoulder, and she curled against his neck with a sniffle. "You've had a hard day. Hmm…" Ratchet picked up the sphere and looked at Jack. "I think she deserves a hot chocolate."
Azura immediately perked up and Jack was surprised. "I wouldn't think she would. She's not allowed ice cream on the weekend because of something she did, so…"
"That might be true regarding that issue." Ratchet sat on the crate as he began to keep working on the sphere. "But this is not the same. Azura saw Optimus getting attacked and Soundwave has seen her, which is not exactly great for a sparkling to experience. Plus, with knowing what the harvester does and that the decepticons have it, and Optimus needing to leave to try and deal with it, unfortunately, does mean that Azura's processor is overwhelmed. It's partly why she's crying a lot." Azura shrugged with a sniffle, though she was hoping to have the hot chocolate. "And to end the day, she found out the worst way that she can no longer sit on human chairs by falling through one. I think hot chocolate is fine. We still have some available if you want to make her some. And feel free to have some for yourselves."
Jack smiled and nodded. "Alright. I know where you keep all the good stuff. I will go and make up a hot chocolate for you, Azura." She smiled as the boy walked over to the stairs quickly and run down them. "Do you want one, Rafael?"
The boy shook his head. "No thank you. I am going to try Agent Fowler again and see if he will pick up. Hopefully he does this time."
Azura was quite happy that Ratchet had decided that she deserves some hot chocolate. It sounded really nice, and it was something she had not had in a long time. She really was looking forward to having it, and she hoped Optimus would come back soon too. She watched as Ratchet continued working on the energon harvester replica as something for her to focus on, and try to forget what has happened during the day. It was intriguing to her on how Ratchet was able to recreate the orb with having not seen it. But perhaps Ratchet has seen one up close before, so it made sense.
Rafael was still unable to get a hold of Fowler, which was still frustrating, as they still needed his helping regarding Miko. And the sphere too, because the museum will question why it would return suddenly without any notification from law enforcement. Him being away was a rather, very inconvenient time. Especially since they only helped him with the Dingus issue not too long ago. But Azura had faith he would respond, especially since he will notice the many missed calls from the autobots.
A few minutes pass by before Optimus would speak through the com link. "Ratchet, please open the ground bridge. And you are going to need to prepare the medical bay for a patient."
Azura tensed a little in shock as Ratchet was also surprised. "Oh no…w-what does that mean?" She asked nervously as he stood up slowly from the crate and walked over to the controls. "Is Bulkhead hurt?"
"Possibly." Ratchet activated the ground bridge, turning to the tunnel in concern upon knowing that the med bay was needed. "At least Optimus won't need to be worried about you when he gets back, and he can focus on the injured autobot."
"And you can have this to help you calm down." Azura turned her head to see Jack walked over, holding up what seemed to be a large bottle, making her widen her optics in surprise. "I found this bottle with a teat when I was rifling through the cups and mugs for the hot chocolate. I figured you might be okay with it."
Ratchet smirked a little as he thought that was a very nice thing for Jack to do, and the bottle Jack was holding was meant for Azura for when she would be able to have the mid-grade energon. "I am sure she will love it." Ratchet lowered Azura to the platform as the boy walked up the stairs, and he picked up her Stitch toy as well to give to her. "That bottle is for her regardless."
Azura jumped over to Jack excitedly. "Normally I would have been mad about it…" She took the bottle and toy from Jack with a smile. "But…I kind of am happy." She chuckled softly and hugged Jack. "I see you didn't get yourself one."
"Didn't feel like it." Jack looked towards the vortex as he saw Arcee walking through with a worried expression. "And I guess they're back."
Azura nodded and she began to sip the hot chocolate from the bottle while she watched. She saw Optimus and Bumblebee walk through with Bulkhead's arms around their shoulders for support. She whimpered a little as she did not like seeing him like that. She felt very bad for him. Bulkhead glanced over at her and widened his optics when he saw her drinking from the bottle before he smirked as it looked adorable.
Ratchet ran over to Bulkhead after the vortex shut off and scanned him. "Ah, that's why you need the med bay. You are low on energon. Alright, let's get him to the med bay." Optimus looked over and saw that Azura was not stuck in the chair now, and she was drinking something from a bottle. "I figured she could have some hot chocolate."
Optimus smiled. "It is a little late to deny it to her when it is already made and she is drinking it. I am glad she is no longer stuck." Azura smiled at him as she watched them walk towards the tunnel towards the med bay. "I will be back to feed and give you a bath, Azura. You need not worry about Bulkhead, he will recover very quickly."
Azura was happy to hear that. Arcee walked over with a smile. "You are quite adorable." Azura giggled and shyly looked away from Arcee. "You deserve this from a long, hard day. We will make sure that you have a better day tomorrow. I can definitely promise that to you."
Azura had no idea what Arcee had in mind, but she hoped that everyone would be well and recovered by than. She didn't want to feel like she is dragging everyone down simply because they want to make sure she is happy. It made sense, since she is a sparkling, but Azura would be happier if everyone else was happy. That was her priority above everything else, and she was definitely going to take Bulkhead up on his offer to take her out for some fun.
"What in the blazers is this?!" Fowler's voice shouts through the com link, startling Azura and Raf as they weren't expecting him to shout. "I have about a hundred calls from you bots while I am away on an important training trip. This had better be important, Prime!"
"Uh, Agent Fowler," Rafael responded to the man in a soft, nervous tone. "We…we do need your help…it is in regards to something we discovered and we need some help from you…especially since Miko could be in bigger trouble."
"Oh." Fowler sounded extremely surprised when he heard the boy's response. "I am going to need the full rundown on what has happened, because I need to make sure my superiors know that I need to leave to help you guys with your issue. And if it is serious enough, they will let me go. I think they will, given what you have just said, Rafael. Explain it all to me now."
