"Now," said Jack. "The idea is that the cards should match. If I put down a three of hearts and you have a five of spades, they don't match, but if I put down a nine of clubs and your card is a nine of diamonds, they match. See?"

"HUM," Nosy disagreed.

"Yes they do, they're both nines," Jack insisted. "Look, this is a regular deck of cards where all the cards are different. If we used two decks, there'd still only be one card identical to a nine of clubs, which wouldn't work for this game. But there are four of each card in a deck, they're just different suits. As long as the number of symbols on two cards matches, that counts. With the picture cards, queens match queens, kings match kings, and so on. Okay?"

"Hum."

"Right, let's play. Whoever ends up with all the cards is the winner."

An hour later, Jack stalked into the kitchen and slumped into a chair at the table, muttering to himself.

Ianto paused his dinner preparations. "Beaten again?"

"Six games in a row!" Jack pouted. "Nosy must be cheating somehow! Snap is too easy. Maybe if I taught it chess…"
