ROSE'S POV
"That is why you shouldn't have had sex. You don't know what kind of people they are," I looked at uncle Pavel as he kept rambling. I glared at him.
"Did it occur to you when you were my age? Because from what I've heard you used to go around all the time," I told him and my father laughed.
"It's different Rose, what I mean is..." I stopped him before he could talk anymore.
"I'm not asking for your permission to have sex with anyone uncle Pavel," I told him.
"So Rose, the guy who you dated was your cousin?" Mason asked. I shook my head.
"Nope, he turned out to be my cousin," I told him.
"It's hilarious," He told laughing.
"Shut up!" I told him.
"So you must be regretting it, huh I mean," I stopped before he could tell anything else.
"I don't regret it," I told him, my gaze on the book.
"What? You don't? How come you don't?" He asked me.
"If it wasn't for him, and my friends, I would've found dead, so if that's all I would like all of you out," I told them. And soon I heard footsteps, probably them leaving the room.
"Good night kiz," I heard my father's voice accompanying a kiss on my head.
"Night," I told him. After he left I thought about everything that happened at the bar.
2 hours earlier
As I've told you before, I'm not a club person, I'm more of a bar person. I enjoy drinking silently.
And the best place for that is "BAR JEREMY". As you guessed Jeremy owns the bar. He knows me not as a regular customer, but I used to hang out there when I was writing my book or when I'm having a bad day.
As I entered the bar my eyes wandered everywhere until I found my father's table. He waved to me and I watched around before making my way towards them. There was someone else seated with them, but his back was faced with me. As I went near them my eyes widened seeing Mr Ivashkov.
"Mr Ivashkov?" I asked and his eyes widened too.
"Rose," I looked at my father in confusion, but he motioned me to sit down.
"What's going on here?" I asked my father.
"Rose, sit down," I sat down beside Mr Ivashkov and looked at my father in confusion.
"What do you want to drink?" I looked at the new bartender.
"Whiskey and Beer?"My father asked me.
"Anything," Mr Ivashkov told hurriedly and I nodded too. After he left I looked at my father.
"Do you drink with your students?" My father asked Mr Ivashkov.
"Cut the crap! What is going on here?" I asked my father.
"Rose, I know him," My eyes bulged out.
"How?" I asked him and that stupid bartender interrupted us again, placing the glasses and bottles on the table.
"He's my uncle,"
"She's my daughter, "
Both Mr Ivashkov and my father told together.
"WHAT?" Me and Mr Ivashkov both yelled together.
"He's your uncle? How? Eddie is the only cousin I have," I told.
"He's your mother's nephew," My father said, bloody calmly.
"You're his daughter? I mean biologically?" Mr Ivaskov asked and my father nodded for me.
We both looked at each other. I averted my eyes from all of them before grabbing the whiskey bottle and pouring a glass to me and gulping it.
"You mean, he is my cousin from my mother's side?" I asked him and Mr Ivashkov cringed at the sound of it.
"Well, he's my nephew so that means yes, he's your cousin, "I flinched as he told me.
"No, No, No," I whispered.
"Give me the damn bottle," Mr Ivashkov told and I passed the bottle to him as he poured a drink I opened my mouth.
"You mean, I had SEX with my BLOODY COUSIN?" Mr Ivashkov coughed before spitting the drink.
"WHAT?" All my father, uncle Pavel, Dimitri and Ivan asked.
"Gosh! we dated Rose, this means you're like my younger sister!" Mr Ivashkov told me, ignoring them before gulping the drink, and I did the same.
"What the fuck?" My father asked. We both looked at them. If a glare can kill we would've been burnt to ashes. I sighed.
"Remember Lissa told you about someone I dated in the past who's 10 years elder than me?" I asked him and his eyes bulged out.
"Don't, don't tell me that this is him," My father said and I cursed under my breath before nodding.
"Mr Ivashkov," I was stopped before I could go further.
"Adrian," Mr Ivashkov told me.
"It started as Adrian," I nodded.
"I met him 3 years ago, It has been 5 months since I came here. We became friends, got to know each other, and started dating. We dated for like 8 months," I told them.
"What the hell?" My father asked me.
"I was accepted to the University of Southern California at first but then LA one needed a professor, so I had to accept it, that's why we broke up. Because I was going to be a professor here," Adrian told.
"It's not that I'm unhappy trust me I'm more than glad but why did you break up because of that?" My father asked us. Dimitri looked at my father as if he was going crazy. I sighed.
"It was me who broke up. At that time I was selected to graduate early in both literature and music and he just got his job. If we continued this it would've been a risk. And I didn't want to take that. If we got caught, he would've gone to jail, lost his carrier and I would've lost so my scholarship," I told him.
"So which means if he wasn't changed you two would've been together?" Dimitri asked and Adrian and I looked at each other.
"There is a possibility for that," I told him and flinched.
"Imagine we having this conversation, in that situation," I told Adrian and he cursed under his breath.
"God no!" He told.
"It could've been worst," My father muttered. I cringed.
"I feel like I raped you," Adrian whispered and I looked at him instantly.
"No, never," I told him. All looked at me.
"We didn't know. And you know what? No matter if we're cousins or whatever, we can't change the past. And I don't regret it. I don't regret a little bit of it. I don't regret being your friend, dating you, living together with you, or having sex with you," I never did back then after we broke up, and I don't regret it now I don't think I ever will," I told him and he looked at me like I've gone crazy. I know I sounded like that too.
"Do you regret what happened? If I'm not his daughter, your cousin?" He thought for a bit and smiled.
"No," He told. I sighed and rest my head on his shoulder.
"We didn't know. And as much as shitty this sounds I'm glad that we didn't know. I wouldn't have trusted you. I would've left America if I knew my cousin is here. We healed each other remember. We had a good relationship. Yes, that wasn't, love even though we thought it was, but it was nice," I told him and he nodded.
"You're right," He told me.
"It was nice back then but nothing like I feel with Sydney," I smiled as he mentioned her.
"How's she?" He smiled.
"Excited of marriage," I chuckled as he told me.
"I can't wait to be her maid of the honour," I told him.
"You two are confusing. You had a thing between you but still maid of the honour?" Ivan asked.
"It's thanks to her I met Sydney," Adrian told.
"What?" My father asked.
"That's a story for another time. Let's go, old man, I'm tired," I told and stood up.
"See ya tomorrow Mr Ivahkov," He nodded as we parted.
"Seriously? Your professor?" Ivan asked after we arrived.
"He wasn't my professor then," I told him.
Present time
I flinch at the memory. I mean come on, the first guy you dated, your first kiss, and the first person you had sex with turns out to be your cousin. I shook that thought away from me and concentrated on my studies back again.
After all most five hours, my eyes started to give up.
"Wake up, don't go to sleep, wake up," I told to myself.
"You have to be like Kang Sol A. She didn't give up," I told to myself again.
After another 30 minutes, I wanted to sleep so badly. My hair was all over my face. It feels like even my hair wants me to sleep.
"Don't go to sleep not until you finish making your notes," I told myself. I heard a knock in between making me snap out of my thoughts.
"Come in," I told trying to make my hair go away, by blowing it. I heard a sigh from whoever came inside before I felt my hair dragging back. I nearly jumped.
"It's me, kiz," I heard my father's voice.
"Gosh!" I mumbled.
"Do you have a hair tie?" He asked me.
"Other cupboard, second drawer," He took his hands off and came again with the hair tie.
"Ponytail, braid, or bun?" I looked back at him with wide eyes.
"You know how to do those?" I asked him. He smiled.
"Your mother. I did her hair whenever she's studying," He told smiling. I smiled too, a very unnoticeable one.
"Bun," I told him averting my gaze again.
Do you want a massage too?" I bit my lower lip.
"A little bit," I told him.
"Wait here," He told and left the room. I blinked my tears back. He came again quickly. I felt his fingers on my hair again, and then a cool substance was poured onto my scalp.
"It's a cooling hair oil," He whispered and started running his fingers on my scalp massaging softly.
I bit my lip hard again, my fingers gripped the pencil hard. I lowered my head. I was moments away from breaking down. I know that he noticed them all, I know that he knows I'm going to cry and I know that he knows he's the reason.
"I'm sorry," He whispered and I broke down. My tears started running on my cheeks and I sniffed.
"I'm so sorry kiz." He told and a sob broke through.
"I... I needed you. I needed you so much. I was a child," I told him.
"I know, I know sweetheart I know, you have no idea how many times I want to kill myself," He told. His guilt was all over his voice.
"But I promise, that nothing happens to you again," He told me and started pulling my hair back ever so gently bringing them all to a messy bun.
"Thank you," I whispered. He turned my chair towards him and leaned down to kiss my cheek.
"I'm so sorry," He whispered and left. I looked at the closed door after he left. I wiped my tears.
Flashback when Chloe's 3 years old
"May Jae, look, baba BABA," I screamed noticing my father coming out of his big grey room with his uncles.
"yes, Ms Rose now come," Mae Jae tried to drag me but I pushed her hand away.
"Nuuu, baba BABA" I screamed and he stopped walking.
He stopped. HE STOPPED! He slowly turned around and spotted me and I stopped struggling. He was looking at me. He took a deep breath and let it out. I smiled. I gave him a huge smile. As I got away from May Jae's hold, I started sprinting towards him screaming "baba", giggling, and laughing.
But he turned around and started walking away. Away from me. I stopped for a second. My smile faded away and as I tried to run again two arms held me not letting me go to him.
"NUUU, I ONT BABA," I screamed thrashing wanting to get away from whoever was holding me. I screamed and cried but he didn't turn back. As if he can't hear me. (No, I want baba)
"On't chu lo... love Rose? Rose not chu's little baby?" I screamed and I heard several gasps and he stopped again. (Don't you love Rose? Rose is not your little baby?)
"On't go, Baba, Rose... Rose ont chu," I told him hiccuping. But he started walking away again. (Don't go baba, Rose wants you)
Flashback ends
I sobbed harder. Why? Why me? Why wasn't he there for me?
...
ROSE'S POV
The week flew away as it came. Soon it's Saturday again. The thing I love about Saturday is that I get to sleep as much as I like. Also, I got used to the atmosphere. I hang out with girls around here, made friends, and also met new men of my father's. They all are nice to me. But other than that I didn't get to hang out with them much, I had to make notes and most importantly study hard for my finals.
"Rose, so what are your plans for the weekend?" Mason asked me suddenly drifting me off my thoughts.
"Umm, nothing much, I have to make copies of my notes, practice, and..." He stopped me before I could go furthermore.
"I mean what are your weekend plans?" I thought about that.
"I can't waste time enjoying, Mason. Finals are coming pretty much soon, so basically studying," I told him.
"Anyway, Rose for how long have you been single?"Kevin asked me.
"For like 2 years" I answered.
"Do you like it?" Mason asked me. I nodded.
"Super independent and I don't have to share my food, my bed, and I can buy anything I want. I can talk to any guy I prefer, it's kinda amazing honestly," I told eating my chocolate-dipped churro.
"Kinda?" I smiled as my father asked me.
"Yup, as much as I love being single, I miss cuddling, and other sweet things too, and sex," I told with a wink earning a groan from elders.
"Get over it you guys," I told them laughing.
...
"Do we have a printer here?" I asked my father who was discussing something with Mason.
"My God! What are those?" Mason asked me.
"These are my special notes for the finals, and there are some of the past question papers," I told him.
"We do have one here. It's in the cabin the same room where we hold meetings," My father told me. I nodded my thanks to him.
"Do you need help with that?" I turned around to see my father looking at me and I nodded.
Mason came to me and took the files that I'm holding.
"Did you write all of these?" He asked me.
"Those are from my second semester. I just didn't think about having hard copies of them, but I have those saved on my laptop. But these are new. I didn't have the time to upload them all to my laptop. There wasn't enough space. I have another four files to upload," I told him as we walked to the meeting room.
"So are you gonna make copies from them?" He asked me.
"I want to do more than that. First I want to take printouts from the ones I don't have, and then I'll upload those four files to my laptop and then take printouts from them. I also want some copies for my friends," I told him.
As we entered the room, there were some men inside. Some of them were playing poker, some were talking, and there were some cooking something. I placed my files on the table and smiled at them. Mason did the same. I thanked him and he left the room smiling.
"Don't you think you're too old to flirt with this girl?" I asked looping my hand over Nico's shoulder.
"Gosh! Rose, you scared the shit out of me!" I laughed as he told. I looked at the maid he was flirting with to find her blushing. I winked at her.
"Playing old are we? Seems like we both are in the same boat," I told her, and she blushed hard.
"I'll see you later," Nico told her and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Same boat?"He asked me.
"I'm into older too," I told him, walking back to the table.
"You shouldn't be into anyone," Another one grumbled.
"Oh come on, have you ever thought about your girl's family's ideas about dating you? No right?" I mocked them and they scoffed. I took my hand away from Nico's shoulder before checking my files again.
"Miss Rose," A Russian nodded to me and I did the same.
"I heard that Dimitri has a house in LA apart from this, is that true?" He smirked.
"He has 5 penthouse apartments in LA," I widened my eyes.
"Can't say I'm surprised," I told him.
"So how are you guys coping with us? I mean no problems right?" I asked the Russians.
"We're fine, apart from little catfights," One of them told, in a heavy accent.
"So have you ever visited Russia?" I nodded.
"Once, I was like 14. I loved it there," I told them smiling.
"What do you like the most about our country and us?" I smirked as he asked.
"Accent. Your accent is the best. It is deep and very nice," They smirked proudly.
"Thank you, so do you need anything?" One of them asked me and I nodded.
"I need some copies from these and, umm... I guess I haven't brought my laptop, let me go and take it," I told them giving a quick smile.
I practically ran in the halls going to my study quickly. But when I was coming back I ran into a wall. But before I could fall I felt it wrap its arms around me, but walls don't have hands. I opened my eyes to see Dimitri smirking.
"Running to my heart Roza? Just like I knew you would," He smirked. I rolled my eyes.
"Roza?" I asked him before freeing myself from him.
" It's your name. What are you..." before he could tell anything, water was sprawling all over us, along with the ringing of a fire alarm.
"The hell!" He muttered and so did I.
"A fire but where?" I asked and then noticed the smoke coming from the meeting room.
"Meeting room," I told panicking before dragging Dimitri with me. Water was still spraying all over the second floor. As we ran through the corridor, I saw my father coming out of his room drenched as we are.
"What's happening?" He asked.
"Meeting room, the fire's in the meeting room," I told him.
He turned to uncle Pavel.
"Check the CCTV," He ordered and Uncle Pavel nodded, running away.
"Go with him, get all the footage of everything that happened," Dimitri ordered Mason.
"Stay here," My father ordered me.
"What but why?" I asked him.
"It might be dangerous," Dimitri told.
"Oh, so you guys can go in and jump into the danger? We're in this together remember?" I told them.
"Just stay the fuck here Rose!" Dimitri shouted making me freeze for a second. He has never done that.
"Stay here with her," He told to Ivan, who magically appeared beside me. Ivan nodded and held me by my arm. I shook my head so fast.
"No, no, don't go," I told panicking.
"We'll be fine," My father told, and with one look at his face, I knew he was right.
"Careful," I told and they nodded before going inside.
...
DIMITRI'S POV
No one dared to utter a word. Pin drop silence was all over the room as Rose went through her now-soaked notes.
"Do you think she'll make them write those?" I heard Mason whispering to Pavel.
"Nope, she never does that," He whispered back.
"But I don't think she'll let this slide away, I mean she has to write them again, can you see how thick those files are, and there are four files she doesn't have soft copies," Mason told again.
"She won't make them write those again. She never let anyone else write her notes, but that doesn't mean she'll let this slide," Ibrahim whispered to both of them.
"Are you gonna hand them to her?" I asked him.
"Do you have a problem with that?" He asked me and I shook my head.
"I've never seen her teaching them a lesson, so it's okay with me," I told him.
"Do you all have any idea of what you've done?" Okay, here she goes. They told nothing but held their heads low.
"All of these are soaked because you burned a toast? And why the hell did you not attempt to shut down the alarm and water?" She asked, getting angrier more and more.
"They would've but they were too busy fighting over something stupid," Pavel told.
"How on earth are you planning to beat that son of a bitch if you can't keep the peace here inside?" She asked sounding irritated.
" ..." She stopped them before they could tell anything else.
"Don't give me a lame excuse anyone of you likes, they started it, we were too shocked to do anything, or we swear that we never meant this to happen," She told imitating them.
For a moment she froze hearing Mason's low, very low chuckle before turning to him with the scariest glare I've seen on her face. Mason visibly gulped.
"Gotta death wish?" She asked and he shook his head fast.
"I'm having enough trouble on the line. And the last thing I wanted was to write those freaking notes again, not to mention that you scared the shit out of all of us. And this could've gotten worse, for god's sake stop acting like freaking children. Why on earth do you think they united? Bought me here? Why do you think I joined again knowing that it'll be so damn hard?" She yelled pointing at us. She's fuming.
"We all are in this together, we can't bring anyone down if we aren't in this together," She yelled and then turned towards us.
"Hand them to me," she told and both I and Leonardo nodded.
"All of the maids, I want all of them here within 5 minutes," She told us. Marco nodded and left the room.
"What are the floors that are drenched?" She asked.
"Only this one, 1st and 3rd aren't," I replied to her.
"And we do have enough rooms there right?" She asked and I nodded.
At that moment, Pavel returned with all the maids.
"Ariana you don't have to worry, we'll clean this mess," Alberta told coming in front. But Rose shook her head.
"I called you to tell get a day off, they started it so they'll end it. And I'm pretty much sure we can order out just for one day," She told leaving all of us shocked.
"I'm sorry what?" Alberta asked again.
"They'll clean it!" She said in a stern voice leaving no other choices. Alberta nodded trying to hide her smirk.
"You can go now," Ibrahim told. And Rose turned back.
"You all will clean every single bit of this mess without help from anyone. And if you mess up you'll start again. I don't care how long it'll take, but hurry up," She told us before turning back to us.
"And if anyone of you wants to defend them, you can join them too," She told giving us a death glare, before leaving the room.
"It's better if you hurry up," We told them, before leaving the room.
...
ROSE'S POV
"As you can see, Jamie was not the only reason, Robert hacked and brought down our last security system," I told them.
After I calmed down, I decided that it's better now than later to take the next step to take Robert down, considering I'll be busy with my studies in the future. We all gathered in a guest room downstairs. I'm currently lying on the floor and Mason is next to me sitting on a puffy couch along with Uncle Pavel. My father is right in front of me, and Dimitri's sitting next to me, Ivan was laying on the bed.
"Then what else?" My father asked me.
"He has a good hacker with him, his name is Boris Petrov. I haven't heard about him," I told them.
"Boris Petrov?" Mason asked and we looked at him.
"You know him?" Dimitri asked and he nodded.
"How?" I asked him.
"He's my best friend," I widened my eyes.
"Well, was my best friend. When I was 5. We went to the same school when we were 15, and we went on a road trip, with his parents and sister. While we were driving, I asked his father to change the song, and as his father tried to change the song, he lost his balance and the car was hit by a tree. In the accident, I and Boris were the only one who survived. He blamed me for his family's death. I think the reason he joined Robert's mafia was me. I'm sorry," He ended sadly.
Ivan walked to him and placed his hand on his shoulder.
"It's not your fault," He told and Mason nodded.
"Continue Kiz," My father said to me.
"So I was thinking that it's time to get your money back. But as I was trying to find the money he has stolen from you I found that he has stolen from various other places too," I told them.
"Get them back," I nodded and stood up to sit beside Mason.
"Cover me," He nodded and we started working fast.
"Done," We both said together after finishing it.
"You both have your money back," I told them.
"What did you do to the money that he stole from others? He shouldn't have them." Dimitri asked.
"What money are they talking about Rose?" Yakov asked me frowning. I did the same.
"I don't know," My father looked at me like I'm crazy.
"You just told us that he stole from various other places," I smiled widely.
"Oh! I think they are talking bout the money Robert donated to cancer hospitals and orphanages," I told Mason looking at him still smiling.
"Oh! That money," We both laughed together looking at others' faces.
"You two are annoying," Uncle Pavel remarked.
"Robert lost billions of money today, as much as cruel this might sound, let's blow up one of his fields, within this week, he'll get into deep shit then," I told them. And they all smirked.
"Fine but for now, let's go have a drink," Dimitri suggested and we all agreed.
This is the 17th chapter. Adrian Ivashkov is here! Leave a review about this plot twist!
Also neither Adrian nor Rose knew that they were cousins when they used to date each other, so please no hate.
Love you sooo much
