A/N Firstly I do not own Harry Potter, Twilight, or other cameos that may or may not appear in this story. They belong to their appropriate companies, writers, authors, and such.

This is AU, as such I will make some small changes in the initial set up, but some stuff will happen as canon, at least initially, but will make changes bigger as the story progresses. This is not a retelling, per se. But I will use story and canon elements to move things around. Other events simply won't happen as it was cancelled by something else, or some new event takes it's place.

With that out of the way, I wanted to point a couple things out before you read. This story is going to be a bit of action, some hopefully serious fluff moments to make people feel good, and some world and character building. I want to point out that before you even start reading there are some changes to canon in both universes and I will point them out here.

HP universe Changes

1 Harry is not an untrained lucky kid who wins a war by disarming his opponent. The basic background would be that Harry sometime before 3rd year decided to train hard and often, including martial arts and various branches of magic. No he was not a god mode, but in this he was powerful and learned how to use that power. So this leads to some serious OOC for him.

2 Harry got away from the dursleys before 4th year. You can decide how. This helps with his confidence and therefore explains, along with point 1, how hes OOC a bit.

3 Harry had emptied his personal vault, and family vault before the Hunt started, so if you see mention to it, or something he had in 'storage' just assume I pulled it from there. I won't be really abusing this option too much, but it allows me put a few things into the story without having to do crazy stuff. Take away that Harry comes from old money.

Twilight Universe changes

1 Jasper left the cullens years ago. If you are a jasper fan, and I have nothing against him, then I'm sorry. But it was the best way I could write a Harry x Alice pairing without turning him into a jerk, causing a lot of drama, or having to write him a new romance on a character that I am not going to spend a lot of time on. He'll pop up here and there, but he is, for the most part in this story, a side character.

2 Rosalie, as you will see, is still a stuck up bitch at times, and will not like bella right away. But she is also very big on helping those who are family. She considers those who are mates to family to be family.

General Info. Mostly canon pairings

Harry x Alice Rosalie x Emmett Carlisle x Esme Edward x Bella

Future pairings of side characters to come. This is not a Harry fixes everything in the world type story. But he is powerful and isn't afraid to do something about it. The Volturri will not like him really, one because he won't serve them, and two, because, this is Harry with a backbone and is still a gryffindor.

Harry will have a vampire gift, but for now that's a secret as to what it is.

Finally, for now at least, Harry and Alice's relationship will appear to move fast. This is for a couple reasons. First, I don't want any real angst, things are going to change as the story moves forward. But the big part of that is the True Bond. It is explained a bit here in the first chapter and there will be more in future chapters that touch on things that are important IMO.

The battle had been waging for a long time. Hours, days, a full week maybe, maybe longer. Bodies littered the ground, but that didn't matter right now. All that mattered was making their sacrifices mean something. Battle raged all around him but it didn't matter. Him and Voldemort were fighting it out. Two huge powerhouses, the strongest of the strong, flinging spell after spell. That was until they locked wands. The brother wand effect.

He was sure Voldemort was saying something, what he didn't know. It didn't really matter. This was it, the end. One way or the other. Magic arced from them, from the beam from the shield. Neither was going to back down, and so they poured more magic in. It was like a large magical sphere that was growing bigger and bigger. And then the lines disappeared. It pulsed, once, twice, and then, nothing. His world was white. It took him a moment to realize that the magic had erupted, violently, and he had been at the center.

'Shit, guess that means I'm dead.' He could feel his body as he seemed to be flying away from the explosion. And boy was he in pain. And then, his world exploded.

"Harry, shh don't worry." a soothing voice drifted to him. It was calm and relaxing. Filled with love, worry, and hope all in one. "Don't worry. I know you can't move, but you need to listen." Trying to open his eyes didn't even work. Well, I'm either dead, in some in between life and death, or I finally went crazy. He was definitely worried which one it was, though he also was just glad it was all over. If that blast killed him, then It killed Voldemort.

A soft tinkling laugh was all he heard. "You are and aren't dead. Think of this as a true in between. The basics I can give you are bare, and you will have quite a bit of a learning curve, but you have always been chosen for greatness. The problem was others got in the way. For example, Dumbledore, although he truly did mean well, he was held down by his past and therefore pushed his ideas onto others. Living through both world wars, Korea, Vietnam, the first blood war, the death of his sister, wife and children during war. He truly was a man who had lost too much. And as such, pushed the idea of redemption onto so many to the extreme, because he could not condone killing anymore. He did see trench warfare at its worst after all."

Harry thought about that for a minute. It made sense, though he didn't agree with it, he could realize he might have gone down that route if he lived Dumbledore's life. "That is just one example though. Mrs. Weasley saw so much loss in the first war, and dedicated her life to being a mother. It did not matter to her whether you were her child or not, she truly did not want to lose anyone else to war, and expressed it the only way she could. The point is that even good intentions can sometimes lead things awry, which is why we are here. The war was won, but the amount of loss on both sides will require decades, if not centuries to recover from. Though another magical war will never happen again."

Again Harry thought on this, though he was grateful that at least others would never go through what he had. It atleast made it all worth it in the end. "The problem is you were not supposed to die yet. But luckily there is a solution. We can't send you back to your world, as you are dead there. It is against the rules and would require us to rewrite too much. However, we can reward you. Another world, very similar to your current one with minor differences awaits you. But that in itself is not necessarily a reward. We will be sending you to a family that needs you, though they don't quite know it yet." And so she went on to explain the basics of this new world. Vampires, no magicals, the idea and draw of mates and what it truly meant, the Volturi, and the clan that would be his new family, the Cullens.

It was also made clear he would still have his magic along with a new gift for his vampire heritage. Harry had been more than a bit upset initially about not having a choice in that particular development. But when an image was put in his head of the full extent of the damage to his body and that the powers that be would only do so much, well, he grudgingly agreed that there probably was not much that would save him otherwise. He did figure that they were leaving him mostly injured so he would be changed. "Most likely Harry. However, there are reasons."

The simple point of the matter is that they had originally set up one of the vampires there, Alice Cullen with a man named Jasper Hale. However, he had left, though on good terms, because he couldn't adjust to the lifestyle. He had left and they had lost most contact with him. Alice had taken it hard at first and had apparently gone into depression. It wasn't so much they had a huge plan for her, free will and all. But they also realized that without her, the Cullens would be much worse off. They were taking this chance to put things into motion to stop a vampiric civil war that would cause catastrophic damage.

"Finally, when you wake up, you will be surrounded by the Cullens. You will have gone through your change. Just to remind you, your wand was merged with you. You don't need it anymore. You will have also received an increase in your magic, nothing so crazy as world ending power, but definitely an increase that you'll have to do some work to regulate how much you put into your spells. Good luck, young Harry, and remember, even vampires have souls."

And with that, Harry woke up.

Alice was sitting in her room, surfing the web at a speed that most would consider impossible. Then again, most people aren't vampires. Alice loved her family, she truly did. She also knew she was loved back by them. Carlisle was their dad, stern but fair. He would hear them all out when there was an issue. As long as the clan was safe, that's all that mattered in the end. Esme, his wife, and the coven mother, was just that. She loved them all, listened, had a huge heart full of love for all of her 'children' as she called them. Rose was the annoying older sister. She was very self centered, but she would also stand beside the family no matter the consequences. She simply had to figure out if the family would be in trouble or not. Probably to do with her history.

Emmett, the big and strong, almost impossibly for a vampire, was Rosalie's mate and husband. He was also the goofy big brother, and for the most part was always good for a laugh. Though she also knew he took his role as a protector of the clan seriously and there were very few who were as vicious in a fight when it came to it. Then there was Edward. She had a connection to him, not because of any romantic attachment. They were both just alone. Edward because he still had issues with the idea of whether they were monsters in human skin, whether they had souls or not, and any number of things. He was soft spoken and intelligent.

Though he cared for the family, he was also very stubborn and it came out occasionally. She knew something there would change soon, though she didn't know what. No, Alice Cullen was lonely because the man who was supposed to be her mate, had left. It was amicable, but she couldn't leave. She had seen her future and it was with the Cullen's. Originally she had seen herself with Jasper, however, that vision had changed when he left. In time it had changed to be a man similar yet different to Jasper. The man's hair was darker, he had vibrant green eyes, and that confused her, was a bit taller than Jasper had been, not by much but still there.

As time had gone on, she had confided in Edward and then the rest of the clan what it could mean. They all knew what it meant to be a mate, and that there was always only one. Carlisle had been the one though to come up with a theory, and it really was her only lifeline. Alice needed a mate, she was tired of being alone and though she never truly considered leaving, she knew, just knew that she wasn't supposed to be alone. She had her family, but she wanted, no needed, something that was just hers, that focused and cared solely about her.

Carlisle had surmised that she and Jasper may have been able to develop a mate bond, but was not her true mate. And as such, the vision had changed. "Come in." The door to her room opened, allowing Rosalie to enter. Alice knew that she may be stuck up at times, but she did care. She was just truly careful about things to the extreme. "Hey Alice, how you doing?" "Good, just thinking about stuff." Nodding along, Rose sat down in one of the chairs. Noticing that Alice's room had two chairs, desks, and part of her closet always had space for another person's wardrobe, she internally sighed to herself again. "Thinking about him, whoever he is?"

Alice simply nodded. "If he's meant to be here, he will come. But it will be a big change no matter what. I just worry that if you see him right away, you're going to go straight for the change. I'm not against it, per se, just…." she had trailed off, hoping Alice had caught what she meant. Alice laughed and then stopped. Going rigid and her eyes going white nearly rolling back in her head, she shook a bit, almost spasming.

As soon as it happened, Rosalie had shouted, rushed forward and caught her before she could fall out of her chair. The rest of the house was there in an instant, shouting over each other till Carlisle yelled at them all to quiet down. Edwards eyes were going wide, a remarkable feat as not much startled him, and he grabbed Emmett and rushed out of the room, dragging him to the living room. Emmett saw him toss a couch out of the way, and quickly joined him in clearing the space there. He definitely didn't know what was going on, but he KNEW that Edward had seen something.

They had finished just in time as Alice came running in, stopped in the center, and, after an explosion of light, dust and particles, caught something, or rather someone. It was only a span of a few seconds, but it appeared to last much longer. Then, before anyone could say or do anything, she bit down.

Alice had not left the young man's side at all in the past 3 days. She once again listened to the argument her actions had caused. She truly didn't care. If they continued, she'd just take him after he awoke and leave. She didn't want to, but the smell was unmistakable. The pull had been intense, and her instincts to claim what was infront of her had over ridden every single other impulse she had. "Rose, you're not making any sense. She didn't wait, she didn't ask, and she didn't hesitate. She just bit him, and then expects us to accept it. Normally you would agree with me on this!" "For someone so intelligent, you're being awfully stupid Edward. That … Is… Her… Mate!" Punctuating every word with most likely sounded like pokes to Edwards chest.

"Edward" came Emmett's voice, a bit harder than usual, "calm down. Bare your fangs at her again though… " the threat was left hanging. "We don't know anything about him, where he came from, how he even got here! He literally just appeared out of thin air, covered in wounds that I have no idea how he survived. What if he's dangerous, a threat. We can't hurt Alice like that. And what's worse, I can't read him to find out." That brought everyone up short it seemed.

"What do you mean Edward?" There's Carlisle, true to form, he was trying to piece it all together and keep everyone calm. Hear all sides and make a decision. She would not let them hurt him though. "Just that. I can feel where his mind is, but it's like a wall is there, stopping anything getting out, or going in. Best I can explain it." Alice smirked at that. Oh she knew he was listening to her, and that it wasn't really his fault. He really couldn't control his gift, just like she couldn't control hers at times. Maybe he could teach her, or Edward how to control it, or their minds at least. A little privacy never hurt anyone.

"Maybe thats his gift. His mind is his own or something. As for his wounds, it really does look like the poor boy was tortured." Esme, the ever worrying mother entered the conversation. No one would raise their voice at her. She was mom, and that's all there was to it. "I have stepped up and looked at him a few times, and well, he has scars all over his body, they are disappearing, but some of them seem decades old. They remind me of some of the stories of the tortures people did to others in the old days." It was soft but everyone heard it. It was true, they had all seen them. Emmett had even said the first thing he wanted to do was find out who did that to him and deal with them.

It was a good sign, it meant Emmett, and by extension Rosalie, had already accepted him. The future shifted slightly, and Alice smiled. He would wake soon, a few more minutes. The worst part about all of this had been that he hadn't made one bit of noise. No tensing of the muscles, no screams of pain, not even a twitch. She had worried she hadn't moved fast enough to help, but the sound of his heart, and seeing his wounds closing up, faster than she remembered most would heal from them, had put her mind at ease.

"We will talk to him, once he has had a chance to feed, to ask questions, and that he is calm enough. We can find out about him and him, us. But remember, he is Alice's mate, and she will be very protective of him, and vice versa. So unless he gets aggressive, do not make any aggressive moves ourselves." Carlisle finished off the meeting. He had made sure it was loud enough for her to hear, just as they had. She understood that they were worried, she really did. It was time.

His eyes opened. Oh sure, he had been told about the new adjustments to his senses and body, but to see dust particles and motes floating through the air, the smell of others in the room, hearing what sounded like animals outside and the trickling of a brook. Well, it was one thing to hear about it, it was a whole other to experience it. The second thing he realized was that someone was holding his hand. It felt soft yet firm, smaller than his, and definitely feminine. Having again been warned of the extra speed he would have, he slowly turned his head to take in the view of a beautiful young woman.

She had short hair that was a dark brown with a hint of red. Golden eyes that looked at him as if he was the most important thing in the world, red lips that he could tell somehow had a clear lip gloss on them. He could tell more, but the most important part was her smile. He had a very good idea who this was and why she was here. He could also hear others entering the room and a throat clearing. Before doing anything else though, he simply brought her hand up to his lips, though laying down still, and kissed them. "My lady." he whispered. "My good sir, it is an honor." she had replied. Oh he liked the sound of her voice.

It reminded him of the sound of fairies, something he had met a handful of times before the war had truly gotten out of hand. Light and happy, with a soft tinkling of bells almost. Making sure to move slowly as he stood up and looking at the others in the room, he saw 3 males and 2 other females. Still standing by the young lady's side, still holding her hand, he bowed his head in respect. "Good evening, my name is Harry Potter. Might I know the names of those whom I have the pleasure of meeting?" The large one suddenly boomed a laugh across the room.

"Sorry, allow me to introduce everyone. I would assume you have questions, and I will be more than happy to answer them, though we do have questions ourselves." receiving a nod from the newly named Harry Potter he continued. "My name is Carlisle Cullen. This is my wife Esme, our sons Edward, who is currently unattached, and Emmett, who is the mate of one of my daughters. This is Rosalie, Emmett's mate and standing beside you is.. " "Alice Cullen, yes. I'm sorry to interrupt, but before I awoke here, I had a, let's say a visitor. Or rather I was a visitor in their realm might be more accurate. However, now that introductions are over, perhaps we can speak normally without all the sophistry that the dance of etiquette might entail?" raising an eyebrow that he just knew somehow appeared perfectly manicured, he received a nod.

"Well the basics of it are thus, and then I really think I'll need to feed, and yes, I am aware of your diet and fully agree with it. Now onto the basics, I can explain more later." Harry proceeded to explain the very basics of the war he was in, that he came from another version of earth, that he was a wizard, the basics of what that meant, and that he had a good basic idea of the supernatural world here. "I, of course, have several questions that I am going to need to have answered as I know you are. But I have just woken up and am quite thirsty, so…" The rest had been nodding along in astonishment, but upon hearing that last part, Carlisle motioned for the window and said they would talk later.

"I'll take him out there." Alice had simply stated, not that anyone would have argued at this point. "Yes, of course Alice. Please ensure that there are no humans around." "Of course Carlisle." Shortly after they were both outside the window and running off into the distance.

Carlisle had brought the rest of the family into the living room. After they all sat down he started their conversation off. "I don't think any of us expected that. And frankly, with him changing the bed into a tiger and back, among the other things he did during his brief explanation, I really can't say I don't believe him." They all nodded for a moment. "Just saying, no matter what else there are two things we should notice." Edward said. He was thoroughly confused, but atleast was able to go along with things. He couldn't think of anything else to explain what had happened.

"First, we have to be ready to deal with the Volturri. No matter what we say his ability or gift is, even two gifts if that is what we go with, they will want him to join. They wont care that he is mated, that will actually make them work harder because it would mean Alice would join them. They will eventually find out about him, and I guarantee it won't be long till they either summon him, and by extension us, or pay a visit." He let that sink in first before moving on. "The second point is if we should stay here. I know we haven't been here long, relatively speaking, but whatever abilities he has, it doesn't change the fact he is a newborn."

They all sat around waiting for Alice and Harry to return.

"Harry, I know you said you had some information before you woke up, but, would you mind answering a few questions?" They were sitting on a sofa he had conjured for them. "Sure, as long as I can ask you a few also." Nodding her head she took a moment to decide what she really wanted to ask. "Do you know what it means to be mates, true mates like us?" She looked at him, seeing him shake his head and motioning for her to explain.

"Mates, generally, are two vampires that agree to be with each other. Like a husband and wife. They aren't necessarily the best match for each other, but over time they develop an emotional bond, connecting each other. They'll be more sensitive to each other's moods, likes and dislikes, growing to be protective of each other. It's common for a vampire that loses their mate to either go insane trying to achieve revenge, or to simply let themselves fade away." "I get that. It makes sense too. What's the difference between that and True Mates?"

Alice took a breath, she didn't really need it but it did help her to focus. She was glad he was here finally, but she was worried it would scare him off. She desperately hoped that wouldn't happen. "In a sense, it's the same thing, just more intense. It's said that every vampire has a mate out there, alive and waiting. Someone who is perfect for them. Others, that it's our base instinct that screams for us to be with this person, for whatever reason. There are other theories too, of course. The big difference is that even if one of them is a human, no one can touch them. To harm a true mate is to harm both. It's our second highest law, though it's not often talked about."

Alice had looked away for a bit, she didn't want to see his face after this next part in case he got angry. "The initial connection could be something as simple as sight or smell, but it could also be something more. Time spent together for example, or going to school, mundane stuff. It could also be if one saves the other's life. The point though is that sooner or later, they are joined. It's more than emotional or physical. It's…. Almost spiritual. Some may disagree there but, anyway. Once they are both vampires, as we are, it's more than a simple mate bond. It's more like the world shifts a bit. I mean, we are always going to be our own people, and we will of course have our own pursuits, but it's also wanting to make sure the other is happy. I've heard it's different for each pairing and it's not too common. Neither will ever be happy really with anyone else either. I… I…"

At that point, she felt his hand on her chin as he turned her to face him. She could see his eyes, as they filled with concern, but also care. "It was told to me from, well, from between, that it was important. You will know me better than the others, you'll see me up and down especially as I deal with the aftermath of the war I just finished. But I am not going to leave you. My magic feels…." making a scrunched up face as he looked at the sky for a moment, "happy, would be the best description, when I am around you. I know I haven't really been around anyone else, but I can feel it." He smiled and stood up. Reaching out his hand, he waited for her to take it and they went back to the house.

He still had questions, but they would answer in time, and he definitely didn't feel like changing the atmosphere just yet.

After they got back to the house, a conversation happened and it was decided after a bit of talking that Harry would share a room with Alice. She already had the space portioned out. And with them being True Mates, it was considered the right way as the bond would push them to be closer, especially in the earlier stages. Harry also found out that they had just started summer vacation. That had cracked him up when they explained that they moved around and, to be able to stay in a place longer, they usually started in highschool. Harry quickly offered to do some research on enchanting some rings, bracelets, or something that would allow them to appear to age, albeit with amazing grace, slowly over time. He had shown them a glamor spell by changing his eyes back to Emerald green.

Alice had quickly decided that he should not change after. Other things discussed was the usefulness of his magic and how he would be able to practice it to keep his skills. They also found out that he practiced a form of martial arts, Kung Fu Viper Style. Though with his new speed and strength, he knew he would have to practice to regulate his strength and speed. He also said that he would work on enchantment to see if he could remove the sparkle from them when they walked in daylight.

The questions had come up of where he would do the research, and he simply asked for the holster that had been on his wrist. In a small square slot on it was a small box that appeared to look like a trunk. When he unshrunk it, the girls squealed in delight declaring that if he could shrink and unshrink things, he was going shopping with them. After a good bit of time and a few more demonstrations of harmless spells, and promising that if they could go somewhere really isolated with no one or amounts of civilizations for miles, the farther the better, he would really open up and show them what he could do, They all separated there own ways.

In the privacy of their bedroom, Harry simply looked at Alice and said, "Just to let you know, I plan on courting you properly. You deserve the experience. I don't know if they do weddings and stuff in the vampire world or if…." his voice was cut off quickly as she jumped on him and pressed her lips to his. Several minutes later they both surfaced, not for air but because she felt she should clarify something. "Yes we do, or rather we can. If you want one, we definitely can."

Chuckling, Harry simply responded with the only thing he could think of. "Well, then I am going to court you, propose properly, and then we can have the wedding of the century. I want you to have it all. Like I said earlier, my magic is thrumming very happily. And happy magic is a very good thing." Promising to explain more later they both simply laid on a bed she had in her rather spacious room. She didn't need it, nor had a real use for it, but she did appreciate the chance to lay down occasionally and just think. Now she could use it for cuddling.

End Chapter 1.

Final Notes. I realize there are parts that need to be expanded upon. Keep in mind this is a first chapter and more will come later. Next, I hope you enjoyed. Please leave a review of what you think, but I do ask that if this is just not your cup of tea, hey i get it. My style or story may not be for you and I get that.

I have looked and looked for some good Harry x Alice xover fics and I simply cant find many or really any that are completed. I think there was one, but it started really bashing Hermione, not just once but repeatedly. I can't stand Hermione bashing really, not repeatedly and as a trope so I left it. Anyways, I get that many people read Twilight fanfiction and Twilight x HP xover expecting it to be a slash story for the most part. I spent an hour trying to find ones that weren't. This is nothing against slash. If thats what you like, all the more power to you. However, it is not my cup of tea. With that being said, I figured since I could not find the story type I really wanted, I would right my own, and hope that it would go somewhere. Maybe it will inspire others to write there own stories no matter what genre or pairings they are. Hope you enjoyed the first chapter.
