The door to the atelier was still locked when Nathalie knocked against it. She was hoping to find the door opened, so she could speak to Gabriel eye to eye. There was no reaction from inside, then Nathalie knocked again. She heard him through the door, mumbling some curses under his breath, before he opened the door to look at his assistant. "Was I not clear enough when I said I don't want any interruptions?", he said the second the door opened. Nathalie put her foot between the door and the frame, so he couldn't close the door on her again. "You have to talk to her", Nathalie sounded harsh and that's exactly what she wanted. Gabriel needed to come out and listen.

The man huffed in disbelief before he stepped back to his computer, allowing Nathalie to enter. The woman stepped inside and closed the door behind her. She stepped up to stand opposite of him. His eyes avoided hers and he stared at his sketches, in the hope that Nathalie would simply disappear and save him from this conversation. Nathalie gave him some time to state some opinion, but Gabriel just ignored her and scrolled senselessly around his sketchbook. "You have to", Nathalie stated calm and yet firm into the silence. Gabriel still looked at his screen.

"There's nothing left to say to her.", he answered shortly. His posture was as elegant as ever, but Nathalie heard a hint of insecurity in his voice. She watched him for a few more moments, before sighing heavily. "Gabriel. She has come all the way here. If you don't talk to her now, it'll be over. "You'd lose her.", Nathalie tried to sound a bit more empathetic now and she stepped closer to her boss. She tried to make him look at her, to which he finally gave in after some more moments of heavy silence. "What do you expect to tell her?", he asked her softer now. They looked into each other's eyes and the woman took in a deep breath. She thought about this question. There was so much for them to speak about.

"Tell her why you have sent her off to America. Tell her what you went through but listen to her telling you what she felt. You two have a lot to unpack and it's time now. Try to make things right with her and… maybe she'll forgive you.", Nathalie explained to him, trying to sound soft now. Gabriel looked away from her again, staring at his sketch of a beautiful dress. "I know you don't want to do that but if you're not doing it for yourself, do it for Adrien and me.", Nathalie added softly and looked at his face, his eyes traveling up to hers one last time. He sighed defeated and massaged his nose bridge with his fingers. "Fine… send her in", he finally gave in and looked in Nathalie's eyes, who was now smiling widely at him. She was obviously happy about him giving in.

"Go, before I change my mind", he muttered and waved her off. "Of course, Sir", Nathalie smiled and walked up to the door of his office, where Gabriel said her name out loud once again. She turned to him and expected his words. "Never call me Sir again, when we're alone.", he didnt wait for her reaction, instead he turned his attention back to his screen. Nathalie looked at him, smiled softly and then just left the room silently. She knew that he knew how Important it was for her, that they at least talked to each other.

She went back up the stairs and up to the room of the girl. At the top of the stairs, Nathalie had to stop and catch her breath again. She felt her heart pounding in her chest and it became harder to breathe again. It was a harsh reminder, that she still suffered from the effect of the Miraculous. Nathalie took a few seconds to calm down again. Her breathing became slower again and the pain from her chest became less. Once her body had calmed down again, she made her way up to the room. She pulled herself into a preasatable state, before she knocked on the door.

A few moments went by, before the girl opened the door. Genevieve stood in front of the woman and smiled softly. Once she looked into the eyes of the older one and that's when Nathalie saw her face shift. Genevieve knew what the woman wanted to tell her. Her shoulders were pulled back again and her eyes became smaller. Her whole being changed into a more formal, more cold manner. She nodded and said a simple "I'm coming". Nathalie wanted to stop her and comfort her, to relax her, but she didn't. She let the girl pass and went down the stairs to her fathers office. The woman watched her knock on the door and step into the atelier of Gabriel. The girl disappeared and now she knew that whatever happened, was out of her reach of power. Nathalie now had to hope that Gabriel wouldn't mess this up. That he'd finally become something similar to a remorseful father.

Genevieve closed the door behind herself. Gabriel just shot a glance at her, over the edge of his screen. The girl stepped a few meters into the atelier, watching his father with a big distance between them. They stayed silent, just looking at each other. She had her hands folded in her lap and her posture was straight and clear.

"How's the US?", he then asked simply and looked at her, without any emotions in his face. "Still there", she answered in the same manner. It was a bizarre picture, how they stare at each other and no one moves. "Why are you here now?", Gabriel's voice cut through the silence. The girl huffed silently and shook her head. "I'll leave again in no Time, don't worry about it. I'm not here for you. I'm here for Adrien and Nathalie, cause these are apparently the only people in this house with some sanity.", The girl answered harshly.

Gabriel raised his face to look at her completely. "Excuse me?"he asked, confused and surprised by her boldness. "Do you know what it's like to sit in the States just to hear that you've gone completely mad over here?", she continued asking and she walked up to him. They weren't looking away from each other, silently challenging each other to look away first. "Think about your words carefully, Genevieve", Gabriel said warningly to her, he didn't step away from his screen. The girl on the other hand stepped closer to him, just a few steps but it was enough to make Gabriel feel threatened. "You think i'm scared?", she answered with a daring tone. She crossed the arms in front of her chest and looked up at her father, raising an eyebrow. "It's not like you cared about me the last few years, not to even mention the amount of communication we had, so i don't really see any reason for me to listen to you"

Gabriel pressed his teeth together, while putting away the pen of his screen. "If that's all you'll say to me, you can leave as well.", he answered her and shook her head in disbelief. He turned away from her, giving her the sign to leave him alone. "You don't get to do that to me. You don't get to turn away from me. You'll listen to me. I didn't come all the way out here, to have you turn away from me. Be an adult and listen to your mistakes, Gabriel!", she said harshly, her words becoming louder with every word she said. She stepped closer to him, nearly threatening him with her loud voice and how her heels clicked with every step. "Stand your man and listen to me!"

Gabriel heard how she stepped closer, how her heels clicked louder. He turned around to see her. Locking eyes with her, she was basically in reach of him. He could reach out his arm and touch her hand. And yet he didn't. He just looked into her eyes and there were so many emotions in them, he couldn't comprehend. She felt the same. She saw so much in him and yet they couldn't verbalize what they saw. But what they both saw was their deep hurt and fear. There were so many words hanging in the air, so many words that should be said. So many emotions kept inside their heads and hearts.

"How dare you say that to me?", he finally said in a more quiet voice, his voice sounded way more intimidating now. He nearly stared her down and yet she didn't give in. "How dare you turn your back on me?", she whispered back and looked into his eyes. 'Listen to the pain you put your family trough"
