Shadow looked over at Amy who remained in the study. Her eyes were fixated on the papers she held. Around her neck was the enchanted necklace. She didn't seem to notice his entry, and continued looking. The male Hedgehog casted her a curious gaze as he studied her green, captivated eyes.

"Amy?" Shadow finally said.

Amy almost fumbled the papers and caught any that fluttered out of her grasp.

"Oh, Shadow, I didn't see you there."

"Well, it doesn't take much for me to catch up to you. We weren't supposed to separate here."

"Never mind that. Here, take a look."

"What am I looking at?"

"Oh, right." She pulled off the necklace and handed it to him. "You need to hold this in order to read it. It seems to have some sort of magical power."

Without question, he took it from her and glanced at the papers. He watched as the words re-ordered themselves. Not long after that, he held the paper Amy gave him. His red eyes peeked over the paper at her.

"Are these your sister's notes? They talk a lot about getting rid of you. Something about you being a traitor."

Amy frowned. "That's the part I don't understand. Why would she think I betrayed her? I was eight!"

"Normally, I'd suggest questioning her, but I'm not sure about mixing you with this."

"What do you mean? I help fight all the time."

"The mad doctor is one thing. A mage whose power we aren't familiar with is anothing issue. You don't know what she's capable of, Amy."

"Perhaps. But I know that as long as I'm with you, everything will turn out okay. You'll see."

He went silent, amazed at her confidence in him.

"You never cease to surprise me, Rose."

Amy poked his nose and said, "Glad to keep you on your toes." The comment and the cute attitude of hers made him smile in response. Shadow paused and glanced around the room. It made Amy curious and look at his concerned expression. "What is it, Shadow?"

He covered her mouth and looked back at her.

"Someone's here."

The dark Hedgehog frowned. Amy quieted and also looked. They heard a low chuckle and footsteps. Queen Sandy entered the room.

Amy stared like a deer in headlights upon looking at her twin. It was as though looking at a mirror. There was no questioning whether they could be related.

A migraine took hold of her as Sandy approached them, saying, "Bravo for making it this far, dear sister." The two Hedgehogs heard another sound which made Sandy smile more. She pulled out Tails and said, "Oh, and I hope you're in a listening mood. It won't abode well for this little Fox otherwise."

Tails bared his teeth at her. Unfortunately, it made her appear happier rather than intimidated.

Amy dropped the papers and stepped in front of Shadow.

She said, "Alright. You win. What would you have me do?"

Sandy released a chuckle. Tails fur stood up, and he interjected, "No, Amy! Don't do this."

"Quiet!" Sandy hissed.

"Sonic's still here. He's downstairs..."

Sandy yanked on the chain to silence him. She glared at the little boy and said, "I said. Quiet."

His ears sank and his fur stuck up yet again.

Amy tightened her fists and lip. She looked at Sandy in the eye and said, "Let him go. I told you I would listen."

Sandy once again laughed and smiled at her older twin. Amy gasped a little at the warped gaze in her sister's jaded-green eyes.

"That's right. I was getting to the part where I want you to die. So if you want this little fox to leave, you'd better do as I say."

Amy stared. What did I do that was so bad that she wants me dead?
