Harry POV
It's Christmas day and the sun had already set. We got home from school a week ago it had taken us awhile to settle in, especially since the Weasleys were staying with us for the Christmas holidays. Arthur was still recovering from his attack and Molly was constantly fretting over him.
If I hadn't had that vision…
It didn't matter anymore; Arthur was safe and alive. So what if Voldemort and I had some kind of connection? If we didn't then I wouldn't have been able to warn Dumbledore that Arthur was being attacked and he'd have died before anyone found him.
I'd deal with it like I dealt with everything else…
"So what did you say your boyfriend's name is?" Molly asked her daughter not looking happy.
Boyfriend? Since when?
"Michael Corner?" Ginny answered and Ron grunted from beside me.
"He's strange and a creepy git," Ron said a second before Hermione smacked him across the arm while Ginny pulled out her wand and pointing it at her brother.
"Language Ronald! Wand away Ginny!" Molly shouted and after a short pause Ginny put her wand away while shooting Ron an angry look. "Well that's nice dear."
"Leave your sister alone," I heard Hermione whispered to Ron. "You know why Ginny's doing this."
"So she's using him," Ron questioned in a whisper as I sat confused. They all suddenly stopped talking when they realised I could hear. I brushed it off still confused. I didn't even know that Ginny had a boyfriend as I felt the jealousy bubbling in my stomach.
"How long have you and the creepy git been together?" I asked Ginny.
"Language Harry," Sirius barked at me while I could feel Ginny glaring a hole in my head.
"And to answer your question a couple of weeks," she answered with a snap.
"Oh," I uttered dumbly. "Okay."
I'd met Michael Corner in passing at Hogwarts, I'd even sparred him a few times when we attended Sirius' DA meetings. From what I saw of him he was kind of creepy in a—I'm better than you—kind of way though he was definitely different compared to the likes of Malfoy or his father. Less in your face pompous and more lurking in the back watching you kind of thing.
He kind of reminded me a bit of Snape actually…
"So when are we going to meet the young lad?" Molly asked the question.
Suddenly a felt a pit appear in my stomach…
"Not anytime soon," Ginny answered with a shake of her head. "We're not anywhere near me bringing him home yet."
"Okay dear," Molly said kindly. "Just give me a little warning before you do so I can make some treacle tarts."
I'd better not spar with Corner again or I might end up killing him by accident…
Sirius POV
The rest of the night passed in a blur as the kids played games—though Fred and George seemed to disappear about halfway through. I dread to think what havoc those two were causing since Molly seemed to be agitated by their disappearing act.
"I thought you had gone to bed" I said.
"I couldn't sleep, Ron snores," Harry answered he looked deep in thought. I took a seat at the table. "When did my parents get together?"
"Why do you ask?" I answered his question with question. I had feeling it had something to do with before.
"I just want to know," Harry sighed.
"In our Seventh Year but your father liked your mother for years," I told him.
"Why didn't they get together sooner," Harry asked.
"You're asking a lot questions Harry," I said but Harry didn't speak. "Your father wasn't very mature back then, none of us were. It was only in our Seventh Year when he cut back on the pranks and started getting better that Lily gave in and accepted when he asked her out. Honestly, you're more mature now than he was at your age."
I couldn't imagine it…
"So what happened then?" he questioned further.
"Well your parents started dating and that continued throughout all of our Seventh Year. After we graduated they got married and then you came along. Honestly it was kind of a whirlwind romance between the two of them," I explained.
"So my dad liked my mum for years," Harry mused looking confused. "So why didn't she like him before that?"
"Like I said James was immature," I replied with a sigh. "It's not a pleasant story but if you want to know I'll tell you."
"…Maybe some other time," he shook his head in reply. "What about you? Have you ever been in love like my parents were?"
Where did that come from?
"Me?" I blinked in surprise and with no small amount of confusion. "Not really no," I answered truthfully. "I mean I've tried a few relationships over the years but I've never felt that wayabout someone before. I'm going to be a bachelor until I die, I know it."
I mean it's not like I haven't tried to make a relationship work and fall in love. I'd seen how happy James and Lily were together. I'd wanted that for myself but it had never been in the cards for me. I could show a woman the time of her life for a night and the next morning too if they were up for it. But beyond that? I couldn't give them anymore, and that wasn't fair on either of us.
"What's with all the questions Harry?" I asked.
"I was just asking," Harry answered.
"…Harry is there someone you like?" I questioned and his cheeks went bright red.
"Mmmm….kind of …yes," he stuttered not looking me in the face.
"Let me guess, Ginny," I asked and the blush spreading to his ears.
"How did you know?" Harry asked surprised. The poor boy is so dense when it comes to girls.
"You looked like you had been kicked when you found out about her and the creepy git who I swear could be the son of Snape," I said with a knowing look.
"Well it's too late now," Harry sighed getting up from the table.
"It's never too late," I said but he just grunts and leaves the kitchen. I sighed but turned and got up, grabbing the drink I came in for. I walked into the room next door where a smiling Molly and Arthur were sat.
"Poor boy," Molly smiled as I handed the drinks to them and took a seat. "The sooner Ginny dumps that Michael boy the better."
Ginny POV
"So how long are you going to stay with Michael?" Hermione asked bringing me out of my own world.
"What do mean how long am I staying with him?" I asked confused.
"I know you don't really like him; you're hoping Harry might finally notice you and get his act together," Hermione told me.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Harry is so dense he wouldn't notice me if I was right under his nose," I said though she was right. That was exactly what I am doing…
"I wouldn't be too sure of that, he seemed bothered when he found out," Hermione pointed out.
"I don't think so, he's probably annoyed because out of all of our friends he's the only one that didn't know," I sighed. I would like for it to be true, but I think Hermione was wrong.
"We will see," Hermione said as she lay down turning off the light beside her bed. I turned my light off too.
We certainly will see…
I wasn't getting my hopes up…
The rest of the holidays went over quickly and we were now back sitting on the Hogwarts Express. Harry had hardly spoken to me, only when he had to. "Is everything okay?" I asked after we sat in a compartment with Ron and Hermione.
"Yes, why do you ask?" Harry asked not looking away from the window.
"You have hardly spoke to me," I answered feeling a bit hurt.
"Plus you have been a moody git," Ron spoke up.
"I don't know what you are both on about," harry responded as he got up. "I'm going for a walk."
He walked out the compartment, Hermione give me a smile that I could tell meant 'do you need any more proof?' I still wasn't convinced if she was right…
Why didn't he just talk to me?
"How's Michael? Are you looking forward to seeing him?" Hermione asked and there was the answer. Michael, I was still with him.
"Shut up," I said annoyed.
"She only asked a question," Ron piped up but Hermione just laughed.
