Hello there, my fellow Rangers to the next chapter of Power Rangers Legacy II: Dino Hope.
I hope your going to enjoy it and now story time.
It was Monday morning, Henry was in his office at the Dino Museum. It was a rather nice room, lots of space, decently furnished. He had almost figured Kendall would have just put him into some broom closet.
To his left was an entire wall window which overlooked the entrance hall, and behind his desk was an entire window giving a great view of Amber Beach.
Henry was currently sitting in his chair behind his desk, setting up his computer when he heard a knock on the see through door.
Looking to his side, he saw that it was Tyler. "Hey, Henry." he said as he opened the door, "You busy?"
"No, just setting up the computer to my liking, changing my wallpaper, setting up my VPN, installing important things like Minecraft." Henry said, gesturing to the seat across his desk, "What's up?"
"Just wanted to ask about what happened in the woods." Tyler said as he sat down, "How we moved from the forest to the museum in an instant?"
"Would you believe me if I said I had superpowers?" Henry said casually, "As in Super Speed, like The Flash?"
"Really? Your not being sarcastic, right?" Tyler said and realizing he was honest, he smiled, "That's so cool! Did you got it when your Energem bonded with you?"
"No, I actually had it long before." Henry said as he thought about it, "I think I was born with them. I've been breaking the sound barrier ever since I could walk, nightmare for my parents honestly."
"Now that's impressive." Tyler said.
"If you think that's impressive, you should hear this one." Henry said with a laugh, "I had this annoying teacher back in middle school. So I pulled a few pranks on him, he knew it was me but he couldn't prove it. He even put a hidden camera in the classroom and then my parents where called to school to review the tape."
"Did you get caught?" Tyler said.
"Sort of. All they had was me slightly leaning back and suddenly thumbtacks appeared on the teacher's chair." Henry said with a grin, "My dad was impressed, being filmed and still getting away with it. Though my mom scolded me, I could tell she was having a little chuckle about it."
"Wait, your parents know?" Tyler said surprised, "Do they have superpowers? What about your sister?"
"Of course, they know. Yeah, I believe they do." Henry said, "As for Ana, yeah she does too. Not sure about my older brother though."
"Older brother?" Tyler said, "How many siblings do you have?"
"Two, Ana is my older twin and we have an older brother or at least we use to." Henry said, scratching the side of his head, "I was very young, all I remember was that he was suddenly not there anymore. Neither my parents talk about it."
Suddenly, he received a call on the phone sitting on his desk. He looked to see that the display showed the name 'Ms. Morgan'. He held up a finger indicating he needed to take the call, which he did by picking up the phone from the horn.
"Hello? Kendall!" Henry said cheerfully as he held the phone to the side of his head, "Just a quick note, there is something wrong with my phone. It showed one Ms. Morgan but you called. I know, weird. Yeah, I'll be down in a second."
Down in the Command Lab, Kendall was putting up the finishing touches on the Ranger's new vehicle, the Dino Cycles. Kendall had her back turned and was leaning over the Dino Cycle when Henry just came through the doors.
"...God." Henry said mesmerized, "Your beautiful."
"Morgenstern!" Kendall snapped at him as she stood up, "That is highly inappropriate to say."
"Why?" Henry said with a smirk, "I was talking about to motorcycles."
"What? Yes, of course." Kendall said quickly, her cheeks becoming a bit pinker, "Will you stop smirking?"
"I assure you, that I am not smirking. No smirking here." Henry said with a laugh but he was quickly distracted, "Oh, what is that?"
He walked over to a nearby table where he saw a machine with a glass case, in the middle was one of the Dino Chargers, small, battery-like devices used to harness the immense power of the Energems. This one had a pink color along with a bunch of chemicals inside the case.
"Don't touch that!" Kendall said immediately.
"I'm not!" Henry protested, holding up his hands, "I'm only looking!"
"I'm making a new Dino Charger." Kendall said as she stood next to him, "I call it the Dino Cupid Charger. Once I get it to work, it will make a target fall in love with the first person they see."
Kendall went on a small speech on how she made the Dino Chargers, how much work went into them and the difficulties she had getting this one to work in particular.
"Of course, creating real love, the one that makes people go to hell and back for one another, is impossible to create artificially." Kendall explained, "It would be more scientifically accurate to say the Dino Cupid Charger removes inhabitations and creates a strong obsession."
Even though he found her bitchy and a more than a bit rude, he did found her adorable, he couldn't help but smile a little when he saw how in her element she got.
"Maybe there is a person under all that bitchiness." Henry thought as he just listen to her explain.
"...In short, it's very sensitive equipment." Kendall said, "If the security system detects a breach of the chemicals, it will put the Command Lab in lock down for twelve hour's, nobody enters or leaves while... Where did he go?"
Henry had suddenly disappeared from next her, and was now suddenly standing on the other side of her room.
"Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't want to be stuck here for twelve hours." Henry said with a shudder, "Especially with you."
"How was I suppose to take that in any other way?" Kendall said, "But how did you do that?"
"Would you believe me if I told you I have Super Speed?" Henry said, leaning against a desk.
"That's highly improbable." Kendall said annoyed as the other Rangers sans Koda arrived from the door.
"This talk isn't finished." she said before she began to explain to the Rangers about their Dino Cycles.
As she talked about the features of the bikes, which Henry happily noted where mostly yellow. Kendall explained about the laser blasters, and the energy scanners as Chase decided to rev up the engine of the bike.
After a few tries of it, Henry looked over his shoulder to see Koda, again shirtless, wielding a large tree wooden stick in a defensive posture.
He wasn't the only one who noticed as it was Kendall who spoke up first, "Sorry." she said surprisingly gentle, "We didn't know you were still sleeping."
"Okay, there really is a person underneath all six feet of bitchiness." Henry though, "Good to know."
"Kendall." Shelby began but at once she received a glare from Kendall, "I mean... Ms. Morgan was showing us our new Dino Cycles."
"Come on over!" Chase said gesturing to the bike, "Take a squish."
"A squeeze?" Tyler, Riley and Shelby said confused.
"A squish?" Chase repeated as if they hadn't heard him the first time, "You know? A look?"
"English, Chase!" Henry said, "Do you speak it!?"
"Of course, I do." Chase said as he sat up on the bike, "I'm wondering if you do."
He revved the engine and in a reflex, Koda gave the front wheel a great strike with his stick, the force nearly sending Chase flying off the bike. Tyler attempted to calm him down, only to quickly jump back as he nearly avoided Koda's swing.
"Relax!" Tyler said holding up his hands, "Easy."
"Good grief!" Kendall said, just now noticing that Henry had pulled her and Shelby behind him, acting like a shield for them.
"Sorry." Koda said, letting out a deep breath, "My instincts say danger." gesturing to the bike with the stick
The other Rangers relaxed as Henry stepped away from Shelby and Kendall.
"No apologies. I totally get it." Shelby said walking over and patting the caveman on the shoulder, "Where you're form, anything that makes a strange sound is a threat."
A ringing sounds went off on one of the nearby tables, and in a single movement, Koda turned around and hit the object. It went flying through the lab and hit the opposite wall, before the part fell on the floor of what once was a pink smartphone.
"I'm sorry, Shelby." Koda said awkwardly.
"No apologies, mate." Chase said as he leaned against the bike, "She totally gets it." getting an annoyed glare from Shelby.
"He's grown accustomed to morphing into a Ranger." Kendall explained, "But..."
"Some modern things still give me." Koda said, trying to think of the right word, "Nervous?", looking to Kendall who gave him a nod.
"Look, you just need a few pointers." Chase said, walking over to Koda and throwing an arm around his shoulder, "You just need a few pointers. I've ridden everything from roller coasters to kangaroos, if anybody can teach you how to ride, it's me."
"Shouldn't Henry do that?" Shelby said gesturing to the man in yellow, "After all, he's the only one with a motorcycle license."
"I know how to drive one." Henry said confused, "But who said I have a license?"
"Hold on." Riley said having realized something, "There aren't any kangaroos in New Zeeland, those are in Australia."
"There is a difference?" Henry said surprised before turning to Shelby, "So we're still up for lunch later?"
"Yeah sure." Shelby said as she picked up the pieces of her phone, "Mind if we stop at the mall? I need a new phone."
"Sure!" Henry said giddily, "Yay! Shopping!"
Later that day, Henry's BMW was parked near the beach. The sound of waves breaking on the shores as the wind had that fresh sea salt feeling to it. Henry, wearing a pair of aviators, was sitting with Shelby with the roof of his car open as the two where eating their lunch while from the car radio came Huey Lewis and the News.
Well, he was eating as Shelby was reconfiguring her new phone.
"...I got phone difficulties myself." Henry said as he munched on his sandwich, "Every time Kendall calls me, my work phone displays the name 'Ms. Morgan'. I really need to look into that."
"You do know her name is Kendall Morgan right?" Shelby said, making him lower his glasses and giving her a look, "Just checking."
Henry continued to wolf his sandwiches down. He was eating enough to feed an army, which he claimed he needed the calories to run and react as fast as he does.
"Can we put some different music on." Shelby asked.
"You don't like Huey Lewis and the News?" Henry said surprised, "I mean, I get it. Their early work was a little too New Wave, even for my tastes. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically."
"Hey, Henry." Shelby said suddenly, "Can I run something by you?"
"Sure thing." Henry said finishing up another sandwich, "What's up?" before taking a sip from his drink.
"So Keeper gave twelve Energems to twelve different dinosaurs, right?" Shelby said.
"Eleven dinosaurs and a three headed dragon." he pointed out, "What's your point?"
"We got six Energems and those will only be found near fossils of the pterodactyl, ankylosaurs, pachyosaurus, plesiosaurus, titanosaurus and spinosaurus." Shelby said, "The Museum has been digging at places we already found bones but we shouldn't dig there just because."
"Okay, I see. But where should we dig? In my back garden?" Henry said before adding quickly, "That's a joke, because I don't have one."
"I got this idea. If we combine the known areas where the remaining dinosaurs lived with the energy signatures from each dinosaur's Energem then we can pinpoint more accurately where to look."
"You might be on to something." Henry said, looking on his watch, "We need to get back to the museum. Once we do, you should talk with Kendall about your idea." turning the engine on, he pulled out of their parking spot before driving back to the Museum.
"What? Can't you do it?" Shelby said a bit nervous, "I mean... She doesn't like me very much."
"And she likes me better!?" Henry exclaimed, "I don't think she likes anyone... Except Koda."
"Well everyone likes Koda." Shelby said with a laugh.
"Of course, but it's almost uncanny with her resting bitch face." Henry said the two shared a laugh, "But I still don't understand why she is such a bitch to us though. I mean we're both awesome!"
"Yeah." Shelby said with a nod.
As they drove, the screen on his dashboard suddenly displayed an incoming call from 'Kendall'.
"See? My car knows what's up." Henry said gesturing to the name before he pushed a button on his steering wheel, answering the call, "Kendall. We're out of sandwiches but we can do a quick stop on our way back."
"I don't need anything." Kendall said, "I'm calling because Chase and Koda are late."
"Chase is always late." Shelby said.
"Yeah, and does Koda even know what time is?" Henry said, resting an arm on the car door, "No offence to my favorite caveman."
"True, but they aren't answering their Communicators." Kendall said, "My scanners are picking up a magnetic field near a set of caverns."
"Maybe it's stopping them from communicating with us." Shelby said.
"Maybe even from morphing." Kendall said, "I'm sending coordinates. We'll meet you two there."
"We'll see you there." Henry said before she hung up and the coordinates where send to his phone, "Now let's hit the road before I hit one of those fools in front of us!" as he put the paddle to the metal.
Henry came to a stop near the beach where Kendall's purple Audi was already parked there. She was standing with Tyler and Riley, each of them with one of the new Dino Cycles. Coming to a screeching halt, Henry and Shelby got out of the car and run up to them.
Before they could talk, out of one of the caves came Koda, his outfit ruined and he was carrying a young boy in his arms. The boy didn't look so good.
"Koda." Tyler said, "Everything alright."
"He need." Koda said, referring to the boy, "Doctor."
"I'll get him to a hospital." Kendall said, taking the boy from Koda before carrying him to her car.
"So, what happened?" Henry said.
"Chase teaching me to ride bike. Slammer ambushes us we got captured, along with Peter. He hurt his leg, but his bike was taken too, leaving hole in the cage we escape from." Koda explained, "Chase is still in the cave. Trapped by..."
Up on a hill, the alien named Slammer called out to them, wielding a small cage at the end of a long metal chain.
"Rangers! Thanks for coming." Slammer said, "How about you stay awhile or in this case, forever!"
He threw the cage in their direction, which grew to a larger size but Koda jumped up and caught it with his bare hands. With his caveman strength, he threw the cage aside, dragging Slammer with it.
"It's Morphing Time." Koda said as the others joined in, "Dino Charger, ready!"
As the Rangers morphed, Slammer called forth a group of Vivix. "It's about to get wild!" Red Ranger said as the Rangers rushed forward as the aliens came at them.
Blue Ranger slams his fist against a Vivix, sending it flying into another one. "Don't underestimate." Blue Ranger said, throwing a Vivix against the cliff side using grapple, "With caveman strength!" while striking two others as he turns around.
Green Ranger was send back by a blast of energy from Slammer, though it was blocked by his Dinosaber. A Vivix tries to attack him from behind, but was run through by Yellow Ranger, leaving them a white mush on the ground.
"Thanks, Henry!" Green Ranger said.
Yellow Ranger gives a thumbs up, before he joined the fight against the Vivix with Pink Ranger.
"Let's go for the big guy." Red Ranger said as he and the Green Ranger charged forward.
Slammer growls and fires off multiple energy blast, but Red and Green, using release a flurry of bladework, deflecting the attack into the ground, creating explosions as they rushed forward. The duo charged forward, Slammer throws a punch, but is shocked when both Red and Green evade the attack and slash him across the chest with their weapons.
Stunned by their combined attack, the two Rangers struck him two more times each, sending him flying into the air before crashing down in a fiery explosion.
Yellow Ranger stood among the remains of the Vivix, they weren't much of a trouble especially with him and Shelby working together. And with his Super Speed, there was no challenge at all. He let out a sigh, when suddenly a beam of green energy comes down from the heavens and hit the spot where Slammer had landed.
The alien laughs as he grows to giant size.
"How is that possible?" Green Ranger asked, "We destroyed him!"
"Then we'll do it again." Red Ranger said as he, Blue and Pink Ranger summoned their Zords.
The T-Rex, Stego and Tricera Zords combine into the Dino Charge Megazord.
Yellow Ranger felt a wave of energy come over him before finding himself sitting in the cockpit of his Zord.
"So Ghidora is my Zord." Yellow Ranger said, as he took command, "Awesome."
Slammer tries to hit the Zord mid transformation with an energy blast, only to be blown back by the Yellow Dragonzord's wings as it landed and unleashed a mighty roar.
Dragonzord followed it up by firing three continues streams from each of its three mouths, knocking Slammer off his feet.
"Can't believe I am really flying a dragon." Yellow Ranger said with the excitement of a child riding a rollercoaster as his Zord took to the sky to evade the recovered Slammer's attack.
"Hey, Henry." Red Ranger said over the from the Megazord, "Why don't you join us? Combined your Zord with the Megazord?"
"Don't think Ghidora wants to." Yellow Ranger said, as he blasted Slammer with another blast of energy, "I call it a feeling."
With Slammer distracted by the flying Zord, the Megazord charged forward and attacked with a vicious overhand, before unleashing a flurry of attacks and rapidly gained ground on Slammer, driving him back.
Slammer attempted to rally, working his way around the Megazord, though he was blasted by a continues stream from Dragonzord's right most head. Megazord punched him soundly in the chest, sending the alien flying backwards.
"Let's finish this!" Red Ranger said, as the Megazord charged up.
As the Megazord managed to land a vicious strike with the Tricera Blade, destroying Slammer once and for all.
"Yeah!" Red Ranger said, "Monster extinct!"
With help from the Tricerazord, they drilled to Chase's location, freeing him from his cage.
It was near the end of the day, Kendall was in the Command Lab. The brunette was tinkering with a device hooked up to her computer. Using a tool to make some modification to it, she was completely focused on her work that it startled her when she suddenly heard someone say her name.
"Jesus..." Kendall said as she turned around to see Henry and Shelby standing behind her.
"Kendall, I'm flattered, really." he said with a grin, "But it's just Henry to you."
"Morgenstern." Kendall said, "How did you get in here?"
"The elevator?" he said, pointing over his shoulder as if it was obvious, "So everything is arranged for the Zandar Exhibit. Also, Shelby got an idea and I got some good news, some bad news and more news."
"Hold on. We're getting an exhibit from Zandar?" Shelby said and he nodded, "That's so cool."
"Really?" Kendall said, sounding as if she was almost impressed, "You've managed to strike a deal like that so quickly."
"Well, people do find me very charming." Henry said, "Did I mention I have actually traveled to Zandar?"
"I didn't know you where well travel, Morgenstern." Kendall said with an approving nod, "It's really a beautiful country..."
"I'll take your word on it." Henry said with a smile, "Because I can't remember a thing from my stay there. Spring Break was wild."
"And why am I not surprised." Kendall muttered, turning to the girl in pink, "And what did you have Shelby."
With an encouraging nod from Henry, she took a breath before saying, "I came up with an idea for how to find other Energems."
"Oh, really?" Kendall said, placing her tool down, "I think you underestimate how difficult it is to find an Energem." turning away from the two and back to her screen as she shook her head as if she couldn't believe her.
Shelby look at Henry, who gave her and encouraging nod to continue. Looking away from Henry, she turned to Kendall.
"And I think you underestimate me." she said, making the brunette look up from her screen and turn towards her with a surprised look, "Ever since I first got here, I've been waiting tables, mopping floors. I'm being a pretty good Pink Ranger, if I do say so myself. But I've also got a lot of ideas going on up here. The problem is no one will listen."
A silence followed as Shelby turned away from Kendall as the museum director looked at her for a few moments.
"Okay, Shelby." Kendall said, crossing her arms, "I'm listening."
"Oh..." Shelby said surprised but she noticed that Henry suddenly wasn't in the room anymore, so she just went with what she wanted to say, "We can by known facts about the six remaining dinosaurs. Climate, known breeding grounds, food sources. Stuff I know with a global scan of the energy signatures for each of those dinosaurs Energems. That is stuff, maybe you could help me figure out."
"Global scan of energy signatures. Highly doubtful." Kendall said with a derisive laugh as she turned away. Not even a second later, she piped up, "Unless of course we... Yes!"
She walked away from her computer and went to the other side of the lab, "But that would require DNA samples." she said, more to herself than Shelby, "And the processing power required would limit us to just one dinosaur at a time."
"Guess it went well." Henry said, holding a cup in his hand, starling Shelby when he suddenly stood next to her.
"Wha-what?" Shelby said surprised, "Where did you go?"
"You had it and I was getting thirsty." Henry said, showing the cup, "So I went to get something to drink.", before taking a sip from his cup through the straw.
"Oh, your back." Kendall said turning to Henry, "So what was your news?"
"The good news is, I found a quarter." Henry said, flipping the coin in the air before catching it, "His name his Phillip."
"What is the bad news?" Kendall said.
"Phillip is a girl quarter." Henry said making her sigh and turn away from him, "The other news is, I might know the location of an other Energem." making Kendall turn to look at him so quickly she would almost gotten whiplash while he took another casual sip from his drink.
