Chapter 15: Ending Part Six
Previously on What If:
Sharpay went into labor leaving her in the capable hands of the girls. Troy and the other guys weren't answering their phones. Gabby met Gabi Dawson and her husband Matt Casey.
After Troy finishes telling Matt that story all Matt can think is poor guy.
"Yikes, that sounds bad but how long did it take for your wife to forgive you?"
"Right until we started college." Troy says.
"Ouch and when did you get your alone time back?"
"Right after I asked her to marry me and she said yes." Troy said.
"Whoa."
"Yeah, it took a lot of convincing to get her to give me at least some type of early paroral."
"I don't know how to respond to that one."
"Yeah, and believe me when my wife is mad, let's just say if I had to choose between staying here or being in Russia. I would choose to run to Russia and only come back when I know it's' safe."
"Smart choice there." Matt says.
"Tell me about it but you should see her whenever she is angry at her brother. Now when that happens I would rather be in the army and deployed."
Matt doesn't say anything else and both guys just look around to see if there was a nurse or doctor to find out information about Sharpay.
Finally after what felt like to be an eternity Troy finally heard, "I'm looking for the family of Sharpay Evans-Bolton."
After hearing that Troy immediately jumped up and walked towards the doctor. "I'm her husband." Troy responded, "How is my wife and the babies doing?" he asked before the doctor could get the chance to talk.
"Mr. Bolton, the babies are doing really well especially for being born prematurely."
"Did I have sons or daughters?"
"You have a baby boy and a baby girl."
"That's wonderful news and what about my wife? Are the babies with her? Is she okay?"
The doctor takes a deep breathe before responding, "Mr. Bolton….."
Before the doctor could continue Troy cuts him off, "Please just call me Troy."
"Okay, Troy as you know your wife's pregnancy was high risk." The doctor started saying. But Troy could only nod his head. "As I was told while your wife was on the way here to the hospital, she coded and didn't regain conscious while in the ambo as well as in the ER. In order to save not only her life and that of the babies we had to do an emergency C-section. But however I have some bad news, your wife has slipped into a coma."
Troy trying to find the right words to say could only respond, "What do you mean by my wife is in a coma? She will come out of it right?" he asked while trying to keep his tears at bay.
"Troy, I wish I could tell you if and when she will come out of the coma. It's up to your wife now to come back. However I will be honest with you and that is the longer she stays in that coma the more likely you will have to make a choice…"
"What type of choice?"
"The choice that you would have to make is, whether or not you choose to keep your wife on life support or take her off. As her husband you are her next of kin."
"So you mean in other words I have to choose to whether or not I keep my wife alive or let her die?"
The doctor could only nod his head seeing how heartbroken Troy was becoming. Ryan and Gabby in the meanwhile are watching and listening. Ryan turns to his wife and starts crying in her shoulders while Gabby holds him while crying too.
"Can I see my babies?" Troy asks the doctor.
"Of course, a nurse will be with you soon to take you to see them."
"Thank you." After the doctor leaves Troy turns to Ryan and Gabby and starts crying. Gabby lets go of Ryan and goes up to Troy to hug him.
"Shar, is going to be okay. Plus you know how stubborn she is." Gabby says trying to reassure not only herself but everyone else as well.
"Yeah my sis is very stubborn and no way will she ever leave you and the kids here by yourselves." Ryan adds trying to be positive.
"I know you guys are both right, but what am I going to do if she doesn't make it? How would I ever go on in life without her?"
"You will go on with your life and raise those kids the way that you guys talked and dreamed about before you ever got married."
"Yeah," Troy can only respond with before a nurse comes up.
"Excuse me are you Mr. Bolton?" the nurse asks Troy.
"Yes."
"Are you ready to meet your babies?"
Troy nods his head and the nurse nods her head as well gesturing for him to follow her to where the twins are. He does and the go up to the NICU where the nurse then turns to him, "Now because they were born prematurely you won't be able to hold them yet. Their lungs aren't still fully developed but were given some medicine to help speed that along. You can however still touch them through the incubator."
"Thank you."
"Did you and your wife pick out names yet for these little angels?"
"We did pick out a few but were waiting until we saw them to name them."
"I understand my husband I did the same thing with both of our kids when they were born. Do you have any other kids?"
"Yes, a little girl." Troy responds to the nurse.
"Aww that's really cool."
"Yes, my little princess and daddy's girl at least now she is. For the first two months all she wanted was my wife. And I admit I was jealous, but now I would give anything in the world for my wife to be here with me right now."
"She is and I bet you more than anything she is fight her way back to you and your family right now as we speak."
"You really think so?"
"I do, so don't give up on her just yet and who knows right when you least expect it your wife will be telling you the names for these angels right here. The lord will always work in mysterious ways that we will never know. Don't lose faith in your wife and the lord yet but keep on believing and praying no matter what."
"I will thank you."
"Your welcome and just let any of these nurses here know when you are leaving. Someone should be by to let you know when you can see your wife."
"Thank you and I will."
After that the nurse that brought Troy to the twins leaves the NICU and Troy looks over at his newborn son and daughter. He thinks about the names that he and Sharpay had both picked out and realizes that he had the perfect names for both.
Gazing down at his son," You my boy are defiantly will be a heartbreaker when you grow up. You will hopefully have your mother's eyes and your looks I can see come from me. While your sister will be more like your mother and stay beautiful. Your name is: Zachary Ryan Jack Bolton. You are named after your uncle, grandfather and a famous actor whose name by the way your mother loved and always voted for." Troy says while trying not to laugh at the argument that took place about two months ago when he and Sharpay were going over names. Troy then turns to his daughter and glazes down at her as well. "You my little princess, boy between you and your big sister I am going to be scaring away boys forever. Since no boy will ever be good enough for my princesses. You and your sister are both going to be like your mother in looks and beauty. Your name my angel is: Ariel Melody Lisa Bolton. You are named after two Disney Princesses just like with your sister with only it being her first name but I can already tell that you are the melody to your mother's and mine lives. You are also named after my mother who has shown me no matter where life takes you that a parent's love will always stretch wide. So my promise to you and your bother here is that no matter where life takes you and your big sister your mother and I will love you no matter what."
While he is saying this Troy didn't realize that a nurse had come in to take him to see Sharpay. The nurse not having the heart to interrupt just let him continue talking to his babies. Troy at this point looks up and sees the nurse and she comes over.
"Sorry I didn't want to interrupt you, but I just wanted to let you know that your wife's room is ready. And I came to take you to her whenever you are ready."
"I'm ready." Troy responds and looks to the twins again and goes to follow the nurse out and to Sharpay's room.

I know it was a short chapter but I will hopefully have the next chapter be a little bit longer.
