CHAPTER 26

Elizabeth felt her head moving up and down, it was strange but it felt like her pillow was moving slowly. She felt a breath on her head. I must have been going crazy. His eyes looked down and he noticed a body next to him, wrapping his arms around his waist. She wanted to scream, but her voice felt caught in her throat. It was when she decided to be brave, she decided to look up and...

— Nathan... His mouth was dry, his throat was crying out for a glass of water. But she spoke softly...

— Nathan... My love...

Nathan opened his eyes slowly and was surprised to see those blue eyes staring at him; "It would be a dream..."

But Elizabeth, raised one hand and touched his unshaven face, and smiled beautifully...

Tears rolled down Nathan's face, his arms squeezed his wife in his grip, he couldn't lose that woman, because he wouldn't know how to live without her. Closing his eyes, he said a silent prayer in his heart, thanking God that she is alive and awake.

Nathan was incredibly relieved and grateful that his wife had woken up from her coma. The uncertainty and worry he faced during the time she was unconscious finally gave way to hope. The reunion with his wife was one of the happiest moments in Nathan's life. Seeing your wife wake up and be conscious is a source of indescribable joy. Nathan explained everything to her about his illness and surgery, and that he couldn't leave her or their son alone...

— Your son, Nathan? She looked at him with those sea-colored eyes, they were confused.

Nathan knew that everything had to be well explained, so he started talking about who gave her baths and did her personal hygiene, so she wouldn't be embarrassed or think badly of him.

Nathan's explanation of why he married his wife while she was in a coma, so he could take care of her and their children, and that their love is enormous and that they just brought the wedding forward, may bring more clarity to the situation. He could explain something like this:

— Dear Lizbeth. I know this revelation may have been surprising and confusing for you, and I want you to understand why I made this decision. My love for you is immense, and when you were in a coma, I faced great uncertainty and worry about what the future might hold for us. The idea of getting married while you were unconscious came from a desire to take care of you as best as possible, as well as our children.

I didn't want you to wake up from your coma and find out we were in a complicated situation legally. One of the reasons I made this decision was to prevent gossip or malicious people from damaging your reputation and potentially affecting your employment situation or my employment, as it is where I will support our family. I was worried that our family would face legal difficulties, or social problems if we were not legally married.

I was concerned about the well-being of our children and our family as a whole. I wanted to ensure we had all the resources and support we needed to face any challenge that lay ahead.

It is important to me that you know that this early marriage was not an attempt to deceive you or force you into something you did not want. My commitment to you and our love is genuine, and I was acting with the intention of protecting our family to the best of my ability. Please understand that everything I have done; I did it with the greatest love and care for you and our children. Our family is what matters most to me, and I am willing to face any challenge by your side. I am willing to discuss this situation further and listen to your concerns. If you have any questions or would like to discuss what this means for us, I am here to support you and find the best solution for our family. And if in any way you think I was wrong, I will accept the decision you make. Whatever you decide in this regard, my love for you remains unwavering.

Elizabeth looked deep into his eyes, and with some difficulty she pulled her head and pressed her lips to his, it was the best response Nathan could receive.
