Disclaimer I do not own the rights to Mario characters or One Piece Characters. As for how I determined the worth of Mario's money there was a article that determined if Mario's gold coins were real they would be worth more than half a million dollars so I chose an even 500,000 dollars for them and in a One Piece guide book it said that 30 million belli would be 300,000 dollars. So I used these statements to determine how much belli Mario could trade his gold coins for. Thank you and enjoy the story.
Chapter 4: Starchild vs. Logia
After getting some rest the Straw Hat Pirates, having obtained three new crew members, board the Going Merry. Mario and Usopp help Nami set up potting areas for the tangerine trees Nami brought with her from Bellemere's tangerine fields.
"Are you sure about this Nami?" Usopp asked their money loving navigator.
"What do you mean Usopp?"
"The money you saved up. Are you sure you want to leave it behind? After all you spent eight years gathering it all." Usopp stated while putting the finishing touches on the boxes the tangerine trees are going to be planted in.
"Yeah, I'm sure, they all had to endure a lot because of Arlong giving them the treasure I gathered is the least I could do." Nami said while examining the planting spots for the trees. "Besides, I only left half of my treasure behind." Nami stated giving Usopp a wink.
"Wait, how much treasure did you say you had?"
"About 80,000,000 belli."
"So, if you had 80,000,000 belli saved up and you only left half, then that leaves you with 40,000,000 belli!" Usopp exclaimed while Nami gave him an affirmative nod. "Alright! We have 40,000,000 belli!" Usopp cheered until Nami pinched his cheek.
"What do you mean "we" that's my money. If you want spending money, you'll have to earn your own." Nami stated, letting go of Usopp's cheek. "But I'll be more than happy to lend you some money for supplies or weapons." Nami said while glancing over at Zoro, much to the young swordsman's annoyance.
"Uh-huh, and what's the catch?" asked Zoro, who was leaning on the railing.
"Oh, no catch, you just have to pay me back with interest."
"Interest?" Zoro and Usopp questioned.
"Yeah, just a modest interest rate of three hundred percent." Nami explained while giving them a greedy grin.
"YOU SHE-DEVIL!" Usopp and Zoro screamed in unison.
"Excuse me Nami." Mario said as he pulled out a bag of coins. "Would it be possible to exchange my currency for this worlds currency?"
"Oh right, you're not from around here, so your money won't be of use at any shops." Zoro said, wondering what Mario's money looks like.
"Well let me see your money, it might be exchangeable at Logue Town." Nami stated, holding out her hand.
Mario then pulled out a large gold coin that seemed far too big for the bag he pulled it out of. Everyone just gawked at the size of the gold coin until Nami rushed up and grabbed it. "Wow is this real?" Nami asked, giving the coin some taps, scratches and various other tests to make sure it was real gold. "It is! It's a real gold coin and a big one too!" Nami exclaimed, clutching the gold coin to her chest.
"So, I take it that I can trade my money in for some belli." Mario said to Nami snapping her out of her money trance.
"Yeah definitely, I'd say for a gold coin of this size you can easily get around 50,000,000 belli." Nami explained, eyeing Mario's bag of coins. "And how much coins do you have on you Mario?" she asked.
"One hundred." Mario answered.
"One hundred! That makes you the richest person here Mario!" Usopp shouted.
"Well, I have to exchange these first, right Nami?" Mario asked Nami.
"Yep, don't worry I'll go with you, so the shop keepers don't rip you off." Nami answered, handing the coin back to Mario.
"Alright, off to Logue Town!" Luffy shouted, jumping onto the sheep's head at the front of the ship.
At the ports of Logue Town
After a day of sailing the Straw Hats finally drop anchor at the ports of Logue Town. As they are getting off Nami gets everyone's attention.
"Okay guys, we're here to get supplies, gear and food for the journey. Mario, you're coming with me to the local jewelers, they're bound to give you a good price for your gold. Everyone else try not to get lost, oh and I expect to be paid in full for the money I loaned you." Nami stated, causing Zoro and Usopp to grimace at how much they would have to pay her back.
"Now hold on everybody." Mario stated, pulling out his suitcase. "Okay Stuffwell, do your thing." At Mario's words the suitcase sprung to life.
"Of course, Mario." Stuffwell said, sending out two small probes from his handles into the sky.
"What! Your suitcase can talk!" Everyone shouted in surprise.
"Hello Straw Hat Pirates, I am Stuffwell. A portable near infinite storage unit designed by Professor E Gadd to assist Mario in his quest." Stuffwell explained.
Nami then approached Stuffwell, "Wow, what a nifty little guy." Nami stated before asking, "So, how much would you sell him for Mario?"
"I am not for sale young miss!" Stuffwell exclaimed while his probes returned. "The mapping of Logue Town is complete Master Mario." He said as six sheets of paper are released from an opening near the handles.
"Mapping, what does he mean mapping" Usopp asked while grabbing one of the sheets of paper.
"It's as it sounds sir Usopp, I have just scanned all of the Logue Town area and have printed maps for each of you." Stuffwell explained, offering the rest of the maps to everyone.
"Wow, now that's really useful." Sanji said while taking one of the maps.
"It sure is, and we'll make excellent use of it in the future. Now that everyone has a map let's gather everything we need and meet up back at the ship in a few hours." Nami ordered taking Mario to the nearest jeweler to sell his gold coins. But, unknown to them, a nearby marine was watching them.
"Red Cap and Straw Hat, this is not good. I must let Smoker know immediately." The marine said to himself, running off to let this "Smoker" person know of his discovery.
At an unknown location, the marine burst into a smoke filled room. "Captain Smoker! I have urgent news about some pirates that have just docked at the ports!" the marine said, coughing as the smoke in the room was too thick for him.
"Oh really, must be here to resupply before entering the Grand Line, and who are they?" Smoker asked.
"It appears to be Straw Hat Luffy and Red Cap Mario sir." The marine stated, still coughing.
"And why so tense?" Smoker asked, confusing the marine. "You're not afraid, are you?"
"No sir! It's just that these pirates seem to be stronger than the usual riff raff sir." The marine nervously said.
"Oh please." Smoker stated opening a window letting the smoke out and revealing a tall well built man with white hair and smoking two cigars. "Ever since I have taken up command, have I let a single pirate escape?" Smoker asked the marine.
"No sir!"
"Then pull it together your stress is useless in a fight." Smoker ordered putting on a jacket with cigars strapped to it like extra munition. He also picked up his weapon, a jitte, and holstered it to his back.
"How do you want to proceed sir?" the marine asked.
"The same as always, we will capture these pirates and bring them to justice. Now what are their bounties?"
"30,000,000 for Straw Hat Luffy and 50,000,000 for Red Cap Mario." The marine stated while holding up the bounties for Smoker to see. But Smoker just walks by him without giving a glance towards the bounties.
"Those are some impressive bounties. But it doesn't matter, on my honor as a marine I will not let these pirates enter the Grand Line." Smoker stated walking out the door.
Outside we see a young girl and her father walking down the street. The young girl was happy with her triple ice cream cone. Until she ran into Smoker and spilled her ice cream all over Smoker's pants.
"Captain Smoker, I'm so sorry sir!" the father said in terror.
Smoker then bent down to the little girl and put his hand on her head, "I'm sorry little lady, my stupid pants ate all your ice cream. Here buy yourself five more scoops." He said to the young girl as he handed her some money before continuing his mission to capture the Straw Hat Pirates.
On the other side of Logue Town
We see Mario and Nami walking out of a jewelry store with bags of money.
"I told you they would try and rip you off." Nami stated with a smug smile.
"I guess your-a right, I just wasn't expecting how much they would try to rip me off." Mario said, thankful that Nami came with him to help with the sale of his gold coins.
The jewelers tried to give Mario only 10,000,000 belli per coin, after some persuasion and haggling from Nami( though it looked more like Nami just causing a fuss) they finally managed to get a good price of 50,000,000 belli per coin.
"So, we sold six coins which leaves you with 220,000,000 belli after my small helpers fee." Nami said winking at Mario.
Mario just nodded in agreement "So, where to now?" he asked.
"The clothing stores!"
"Oh okay, have fun." Mario said as he was about to walk away. But Nami pulled him back immediately.
"Oh no, you're coming with me." She ordered.
"What, why?" Mario asked.
"We need to get you some new clothes. I mean, no offense, but your clothes make you look like a plumber." Nami stated, pointing towards Mario's outfit.
"But I am a plumber."
"Not anymore, at least not while you're with us, you're a pirate now. So, we need to get you a new outfit and I'm going to help you out with your wardrobe choice, free of charge." Nami stated with confidence.
"Really? Free of charge?" Mario asked, giving Nami a nervous look. He may have only known her for a few days, but he already had a grasp on her personality.
"Oh, don't give me that look. Just consider this my way of giving you a proper thank you for saving my village." Nami said giving Mario a shrug.
"Well, if that's the case I gladly accept." Mario said while giving a thankful nod to Nami.
"Alright let's go!" Nami cheerfully said while pulling Mario to the nearest clothing store.
Nami chose a variety of outfits for Mario to try on and offered helpful and not so helpful critiques. After an hour of trying on clothes Mario finally decided on an outfit he liked. It was a yellow shirt with a blue trench coat over it and with white open fingered gloves and blue jeans, with a red scarf and his red hat tying the whole outfit together.
(Look up Fire Team Leader Mario by loveandcake for where I got the idea of what Mario would look like.)
"Perfect!" Nami exclaimed giving Mario a thumbs up. "Now you look more like a pirate." Mario just nodded as he went and paid for the clothes.
As they walked out Nami asked, "By the way Mario, why did you change your gloves? I thought they were special and gave you powers."
"Oh, they do, which is why while I was in the changing room, I had Starlow use a power star to fuse these gloves with my bottomless gloves." Mario explained while pulling on the cuff of his new gloves and turning his clothes a tint of light blue and producing a blue fire ball in his hands. "So, these are basically the same as my old gloves."
"Aren't you abusing the power stars?" Nami questioned.
"It's-a okay, it didn't take up too much power and the star should be charged up by tomorrow morning." Mario stated while pulling on the cuff of his gloves again, turning his clothes back to their normal color and growing wings on his cap. "I'm going to go sightseeing for a bit and maybe find a restaurant, what are you going to do?" Mario asked Nami.
"More clothes shopping, now that we took care of your wardrobe, I need some new clothes myself." Nami stated giving Mario a cutesy smile.
"Okie dokie, see you back at the Merry." Mario said as he flew off.
Back with Smoker a Marine came running up to him, "Captain Smoker sir! We have just received reports that Red Cap Mario was seen at the clothing stores near the town square."
"Did you now, that's where the execution platform is and where Straw Hat should be." Smoker said remembering how he met a boy with a straw hat who was looking for the execution platform, giving him directions to said platform. "Men set up a perimeter around the town square and prepare to capture the pirates on my command!"
"Yes sir!" the marines answered back, running off to prepare the trap.
Back with Mario, he lands near a spot where the map says a restaurant should be. As he looks for it, he notices a strange building nearby. "That's strange the map Stuffwell made doesn't show this building." As he was examining the map a strange woman comes out.
"Hello and welcome Mario, come in come in." she beckoned.
"How do you know my name?"
"I am a fortune teller; I know many things that may or may not happen. And right now, I know you need to have your fortune read Mario." She stated with an aura of mysticism.
"Uh, no thanks. Not looking to spend my money on a palm reading." Mario replied waving his hands in a rejecting fashion.
"Oh no Mario, I won't be charging you. After all this reading will be about your quest for the power stars, the fate of your brother, and about an enemy you thought you would never see again." She replied walking back into the building.
"Wait, how do you know about the power stars and my brother. Wait come back here!" Mario shouted as he chased her into the building. As Mario entered the building, he saw only a small light in a room. When he approached the light, he saw a crystal ball on a table and then a bright flash engulfed the room. When he opened his eyes, he saw nothing but the crystal ball, the table it sat on and two chairs on opposite sides of the table. He turned back to where the entrance should be but saw nothing. It was as if he was in a separate space from the rest of the world. Mario then began to look around for an exit when the fortune teller appeared in one of the chairs.
"Do not be afraid Mario, nothing is wrong, we are simply in the proper location so I can read your fortune, now sit down please." She requested making a motion for Mario to sit in the other chair. He was hesitant but took the seat as he had to know what she meant about what she had said earlier.
"So, how do we do this?" Mario asked
"Simple, you ask me questions and I will peer into the crystal ball and seek out the answers." She replied placing her hands unto the crystal ball.
"Okay, first question what do you know about the power stars?"
The fortune teller then began to wave her hands around the crystal ball and a bright light came from it. "I can see the people who have them and their general locations. One is in a desert kingdom, held by a warlord of the sands. The other is at an island where dark justice rules and is held by the executioner of said justice. And the last two are in the possession of a genius doctor who is trying to unravel their secrets, their location ,sadly is hidden from me."
"Alright then, now what do you know about my brother's fate"
The fortune teller began to wave her hands around the crystal ball again and another light came forth. "Unfortunately, that he and the companion he will have with him will suffer a fate he has lived through before. They will become unwitting puppets to a dark master."
"What! No! I won't let that happen!" Mario shouted.
"I am sorry to say that you cannot stop it. You can only save Luigi and his friend after they are controlled." The fortune teller replied with sadness in her voice.
"Well, we'll see about that. Now about the third thing you said, what enemy will arrive from my past?" Mario asked her.
The fortune teller once again waved her hands around the crystal ball, but this time a dark light came forth. "AH! He is a dark and powerful foe. One whose ambition spells disaster for all worlds. He is a twisted jester with mastery of dark magic and reality." She answered straining to keep her focus on the crystal ball. Mario thought about this before a shocking revelation came to him.
"Dimentio. No that's not possible we destroyed him along with the chaos heart, he can't come back." Mario said in a panic. "Hey, how is he supposed to come back?" Mario asked the fortune teller.
But then the light from the fortune teller's crystal ball faded away and the room returned to normal.
"I'm sorry Mario. But my powers are drained. I'm afraid I cannot see into your fortune anymore." She said in an apologetic tone.
Mario took in a deep breath and then turned to her. "It's-a okay, at least I know where the power stars are, and as for Dimentio, well I just hope your wrong about that. If he does come back, it truly will be a disaster for all worlds." Mario stated remembering how dangerous Dimentio was. As he was walking out, he was suddenly surrounded by marines.
"Red Cap Mario you are under arrest!" one of the marines shouted.
"Oh Mamamia, you have me surrounded." Mario stated counting the twelve marines that surrounded him.
"That's right pirate, now come quietly your friends will be captured shortly." One of the marines replied.
"Really, how?" Mario asked grabbing the lip of his cap.
"We have a trap set up for them in the town square." A marine responded receiving a smack from his fellow marine. "You idiot, don't tell him."
"Really? Good to know." Mario replied.
"Don't try any-" the marine was interrupted when Mario threw his cap at his and his compatriots guns disarming them. Then before any of them could react Mario lunged at them and knocked them all out.
"Oh my, most impressive Mario." The fortune teller stated clapping her hands at Mario's feat of battle prowess.
"Thank you miss…" Mario left off for her to answer while catching his cap.
"Clairvoya, Madame Clairvoya."
"Clairvoya, hmm, why does that sound familiar." Mario thought.
"Questions for another time, now shouldn't you go help your friends Mario?" she asked.
"Oh, your right thanks." Mario replied grabbing the cuff of his gloves and growing wings on his cap before taking to the skies to search for his fellow Straw Hats.
"You are most welcome Mario, and I hope and pray for your success in your quest or else all of existence is doomed." Clairvoya said to herself as she walked back into the building.
As Mario looked down, he saw Zoro and Sanji fighting off a group of pirates. He then divebombed to them, "Look out below!" he called out making Zoro and Sanji back off as he blew away a group of enemy pirates with his attack. "Am I late?" Mario asked.
"Nope, right on time. We need to save Luffy." Sanji replied pointing towards the execution platform where Luffy was trapped and about to be beheaded by a clown themed pirate named Buggy.
"Mamamia."
"Yeah, our thoughts exactly, so we have to hurry." Zoro said while fighting off two more enemy pirates.
Then Luffy called out, "Zoro, Sanji, Mario, Usopp and Nami sorry, but I'm dead." Luffy said, smiling as Buggy brought his blade down. Mario was about to pull the cuff of his glove to activate a time stop power-up when.
KRAKOOM!
A bolt of lightning came down and struck the executioners platform, lighting it ablaze. Everyone in the town square just stared in awe at the event when the platform fell. And soon rain began to fall as well, and a straw hat landed on the ground only for Luffy to pick it up.
"I'm still alive, that's nice." Luffy stated carefree as ever.
Sanji and Zoro just stood there in awe, but Mario was okay with this remembering many of his own close calls with death only to be saved by a miracle. But then Zoro broke the silence, "Hey we need to get out of here now."
"Attack! Capture the pirates!" Smoker yelled from the balcony of a nearby building. Suddenly marines poured into the plaza and a huge fight broke loose. A group of marines came charging towards the Straw Hats when Mario stepped out in front.
"HA!" he yelled as he sent a huge fire ball towards the marines, blowing them away and clearing a path for him and his friends. "Alright, now let's-a go." Mario said to the rest of his group.
They began to run down the street where Mario just was. As they passed by the building where the fortune teller was it was gone. Mario looked to where the building should be since the marines that he had knocked unconscious were still there, but where the fortune teller's business was there was nothing, just an empty lot.
"Hey Mario, is something wrong?" Sanji asked
"No, it's nothing lets just keep going." Mario replied, but was thought to himself, "Madame Clairvoya, where have I heard that name before?" He kept pondering until they were stopped by a young woman with black hair, glasses and a sword. This was Tashigi, Smoker's subordinate.
"I didn't know you were Zoro the pirate as well. Liar, your just another liar!" she said in anger.
"Oh great, what'd the hell you do to that girl?" Sanji asked while raising his fist at Zoro.
Zoro just ignored and walked past him to address Tashigi, "You never asked for my name, did you? So, I never lied did I."
"You know there's no way I'm going to let you leave with such a legendary sword! Give it to me, the Wado Ichimonji, right now!" Tashigi demanded
Zoro then pulled out his sword, "Then come and get it."
Tashigi then pulled out her own sword and charged at Zoro, their blades clashed as the battle started.
"What a jerk, you can't fight a girl!" Sanji yelled
"I can take care of myself! This is a fight between the two of us, I don't need any help so backoff!" Tashigi yelled at Sanji.
"You heard her, get out of here." Zoro told Sanji.
"Come on, let's go." Luffy said while pulling Mario and Sanji away from the fight.
"Hey Zoro if you hurt her, I'm going to kick your ass!" Sanji yelled as they ran by.
They continued running until they came across someone else blocking their path. "Straw Hat Luffy, your finally here." Smoker said ready to face the straw hats. "I already told you didn't I, you can't get to the Grand Line without beating me first."
"Oh yeah, I forgot." Luffy said with a smile.
"You're really stupid." Smoker replied while moving his gaze over to Mario. "And Red Cap Mario, I never imagined you and Straw Hat would be on the same crew. So, out of curiosity who's the captain of your merry band of criminals?"
"He is." Mario and Sanji said in unison while pointing towards Luffy.
"So Luffy is the captain, but Mario has the bigger bounty, so how does that work?" Smoker asked Mario.
"It's-a complicated." Mario replied while shrugging his shoulders.
"Well, it doesn't matter, since I'll be taking both of you down." Smoker stated as he got into his fighting stance.
"Sanji, go ahead we'll catch up." Luffy said while grinning at Smoker.
"I don't know about that; this is the end for you two." Smoker declared as Sanji ran off. Mario was about to start fighting Smoker, but Luffy put his hand in front of him.
"Hey, let me go first Mario." Luffy said while cracking his knuckles.
"Feeling confident Straw Hat." Smoker said while turning his hands to smoke and shooting them at Luffy and Mario. Mario dodged the attack, but Luffy was trapped in a smoke cloud. He struggled to get out but couldn't as he could not grab the smoke.
"Hey, what's happening?" Luffy cried out.
"I ate the Plume-Plume fruit and became a smoke man. Now my body can become smoke whenever I want." Smoker stated as he slammed Luffy into the ground. Luffy then got up and launched his Gum-Gum Gatling attack, but every time one of Luffy's punches would land on Smoker's body he would turn to smoke. "My turn, now Smoke Screen!" Smoker called out as he sent his smoke arms towards Luffy, pinning him to the wall.
"Gum-Gum Pistol!" Luffy yelled as he sent a rubber fist towards Smoker's stomach only for his body to turn into smoke again.
"Don't you see you have to go through me to get to the Grand Line, I told you." Smoker said as he lifted Luffy into the air and slammed him into the ground and pinning him. "You're not worth 30,000,000 belli, your luck has run out." Smoker stated as he was about to pull out his jitte, only to move out of the way as a fire ball came flying towards him.
Mario then jumped in between Luffy and Smoker. "Okay Luffy, it's-a Mario time." Mario stated while getting into his fighting stance. Smoker just stared at Mario, annoyed at his confidence.
"What makes you think you'll do any better Red Cap?" Smoker asked, irritated that he had been interrupted. "Do you think you can actually hit me?" Mario just nodded while beckoning Smoker to fight. "Cocky bastard, White Haze!" Smoker yelled as he sent two smoke fists towards Mario.
Mario dodged the attack, but they turned around and caught him in a cloud of smoke. "Not so cocky now." Smoker said as he was about to slam Mario into the ground, only for Mario to spin rapidly shaking off the smoke cloud. "Didn't even use his devil fruit to escape." Smoker thought to himself. Mario then charged at Smoker launching a punched aimed at his face. Smoker was caught off guard when Mario's fist made contact and sent him flying.
"Whoa, how did you do that?" Luffy asked Mario.
"Well, I punched him the same way I punch Boos." Mario explained.
"Boos?" Luffy asked, tilting his head in confusion.
"Ghosts Luffy, I can punch ghosts." Mario said.
Luffy just stood there in amazement as Smoker was getting up wiping the blood from his nose. "He hit me, he managed to hit me. What the hell did he do? Was it some sort of Haki?" Smoker thought as he got back to his feet. "No, it didn't look like any kind of Haki I've seen before. But it doesn't matter I still have an advantage." Smoker thought to himself as he drew his jitte.
He then launched himself towards Mario and Luffy, turning into a big cloud of smoke. "It's over you two, just because Red Cap can hit me doesn't mean you'll win. And do you know why?" Smoker asked as Luffy, and Mario were surrounded by smoke.
"Why?" Mario asked while pulling at the cuff of his glove turning his clothes a light blue.
"Because of two things, experience and this!" Smoker shouted as he thrusted his jitte towards Mario. Mario caught the jitte with his hand as the tip of it touched his nose. "It's over Red Cap." Smoker declared, certain that he had just attained victory.
"Oh really?" Mario asked as he brought up his other hand to the arm Smoker was holding his weapon with and began to freeze him.
"What!?" was Smokers thought as his arm began to freeze. He tried to pull his jitte from Mario but found Mario's grasp too strong. In the end he had to release his weapon and turn his arm into dead smoke before he was frozen solid. As he reformed his arm, he looked at Mario and yelled, "How the hell did you do that, what kind of devil fruit do you have!?" Smoker demanded from Mario.
"Oh, I don't have a devil fruit. I'm a star child, I naturally have all these abilities." Mario explained while examining Smoker's jitte. "Now what about this weapon made you think you've won just by touching me." Mario asked, only getting a silent glare from Smoker.
Then Luffy grabbed it and instantly fell to his knees, "Luffy!" Mario shouted with concern that his captain may be seriously hurt. "What happened to you Luffy?"
"It's that weapon, as soon as I touched it, I lost all my strength." Luffy said while leaning onto Mario for support.
"Oh, so that's why. Interesting, a weapon that is strong against devil fruit users. Well, in that case, Stuffwell!" Mario called out as Stuffwell jumped out of his pocket.
"Yes Master Mario?" Stuffwell asked, waiting for a command
"Hold onto this for me, would you kindly." Mario requested as he dropped Smoker's jitte into Stuffwell.
"Of course, Master Mario." Stuffwell replied before jumping back into Mario's pocket.
"My jitte! Now you're going to steal from me you dirty pirate." Smoker said as he got back into a fighting stance. "That's the last straw you criminal scum, I won't let you make a mockery of me!" he yelled as he launched himself at Mario and Luffy.
Mario just parried Smoker's attack and punched Smoker into the ground, knocking him unconscious. "Looks like we beat him, now we can go to the Grand Line." Mario said as he and Luffy run towards the docks to get on their ship. Unaware of a man in a green cloak watching them.
When they got to the docks, they saw Usopp, Zoro and Sanji there and the Going Merry drifting away.
"Help! Hey, Luffy!" Nami called out from the ship.
"Nami!" Luffy answered back.
"We got to go the ship will be gone soon." Sanji stated. "Right!" everyone else replied as Luffy began to run in the opposite direction.
"Now Gum-Gum…" Luffy began to say as he jumped on a rail and stretched his arms.
"What the?" "No, he can't." "I'm not going to like this." Usopp Sanji and Zoro said one after the other.
"Rocket!" Luffy shouted as he launched himself, slamming into his friends and sending them flying onto the Going Merry.
"Guys, you made it." Nami said with relief until she looked around. "Wait, where's Mario?" everyone looked around to find Mario until they heard a splash and a "Wahoo" from the side of the ship. Everyone turned to see Mario land on the ship wearing a frog suit.
"Umm, what's that?" Usopp asked, squinting his eyes at Mario's new outfit.
"Oh, this?" Mario replied while pulling the cuff of his glove returning him back to his original outfit. "It's my frog suit, it allows me to swim really fast and breathe under water." Mario explained while turning to Luffy. "Sorry Luffy, but when I saw what you were about to do, I chose and alternate way to get here." Mario said while everyone, except Luffy, nodded their heads in agreement.
Later, onboard the Going Merry
"Hey look a light." Nami said while looking at the approaching lighthouse.
"Is that a lighthouse?" Usopp asked while clutching the mast of the ship.
"It's a guidepost, the entrance to the Grand Line is somewhere ahead." Nami explained.
"The Grand Line is somewhere just out ahead." Luffy said with a smile
"But do we have to go there in the middle of a friggin hurricane like this?!" Usopp asked still clutching to the mast. Everyone just gave him a smile and a nod.
"Okay then, I think we should say something to mark the occasion." Sanji said with everyone agreeing. He then placed his foot on top of a barrel.
"I'm going to the Grand Line to find the All Blue." Sanji declared.
"I'm going to become the King of the Pirates." Luffy declared placing his foot on top of the barrel.
"The worlds best swordsman." Zoro declared placing his foot on top of the barrel.
"I'm going so I could draw a map of the entire world." Nami declared placing her foot on the barrel.
"I guess I'm going to be a brave warrior of the sea." Usopp declared placing his foot on the barrel.
Then everyone looked to Mario. "Oh, well I'm going to find all the power stars and bring them back home." Mario declared placing his foot on the barrel.
Then all together, they lifted their legs and dropped them back onto the barrel as Luffy announced "Now, to the Grand Line" as everyone cheered with him.
