I gotta tell ya, waking up from the blackness is a real bitch. The sunlight that was in my eyes definitely made me feel like had a massive hangover. As I slowly blink the spots out of my eyes, the sounds of the nearby forest rock my eardrums. It does make sense, I mean I was born again after all. As I rub the spots out of my eyes, I freeze up. Just thinking about the fact that I quite literally just died, it is really throwing me for a loop. As I sit there in the forest clearing in my new life I think to myself "Am I gonna miss my previous world? Can I truly say I'll miss anything to the point I have regrets?" I feel my blood pressure rising as I sit in that clearing, listening to the sounds of the forest. It's simple in and out breathe Logan, breathe. Like in all those fanfics you've read, calm yourself. Breathe in, breathe out, listen to the calming sounds of the forest.Take in the sights of trees that look familiar but are so different. Hear the sounds of a creek that you cannot see. See that goblin that's jumping at you with a stick…. Wait what? "Ahhhh…Holy shit!!" I scream as I just clumsily dodge a swipe of the stick.
As I get my bearings, I look at the first monster of Danmachi universe I encountered. It is well and truly ugly with its green skin scar riddled face. The anime and LN do not prepare you at all and it was an eye opener. The goblin recovers from the missed strike and turns to face me. It picks it's stick up and charges me.
As I'm watching the goblin come closer, I feel panicked. It's like watching that truck-kun that killed me coming at me again. My heart is racing and I don't know what to do…. I dodge the attack a little more surefooted than before, not much but enough to take a look at the surroundings. There is a path leading away from the clearing and it looks like my best shot right now. I turn tail and run as fast as I can. The forest around me is a blur as I run. The goblin in hot pursuit.
As I'm running I remember "Wait a minute, I'm in a new world with powers. Why the fuck am I running?" Jeez if my friend Dennis could see me now. He would facepalm, start laughing at me and go "This is what we do Logan? God this is too funny seeing Mr. cool, calm, and collected acting like a little bitch. Haha this is too good." I stop running and face the goblin, it's still about 50ft down the winding path. That gives me enough time time to figure out my time manipulation skill. My mind racing, i try the most basic command to do with time. I yell "FREEZE" hoping that it makes the goblin stop. Apparently I rolled a d20, the goblin froze in mid jump.
I fall on my ass and give a huge sigh of relief. Thankful that I paid attention to movies and games with time manipulation. Slowly standing in the shadowy trail, I walk towards the goblin with purpose. Now I need to kill it to end this. I'm looking around for anything to kill the goblin with. There on the path is a glint, if I wasn't looking I wouldn't have seen it. As I go towards it I realize it's a worn dagger. It has to have been here for a long time due to the rust on the blade. I pick it up and turn back to the goblin to realize the time field is wearing off. Shit I can't waste this moment so I charge the goblin and I clocked it in the head, heh time pin for the win, I then take the dagger and stab it in the heart. The goblin looks at the dagger, then looks at me in shock before exploding into a dust cloud. A little think could be heard as the stone fell to the ground.
I did it.. I DID IT!!! I killed my first monster. Omg I killed a fictional monster from a anime I like. If this is a dream, I don't wanna wake up.
I pick up the stone and put it in my pocket. Funny enough I could hear my old friend Dennis say "About time you figured it out!" I can't help but go back to my previous question of do I have regrets? Sure do, everyone does. Do I regret never seeing my earth again? Yes I sure will, but if my plans come together, hopefully I'll be able to overcome it and make the best of a new situation. As I turn and walk down the forest path I say " I'm not sorry I died. I did I something that made my sad life worthwhile. Saving those kids will be one of 2 things I won't regret, the other is the awesome friends I had. I'm sorry that I made you guys sad with my death, just know that I'm at peace and happy with my choices. Best wishes for you guys, and I hope that they wished the same for me." The only way to move on is to make the best of this fresh chance and try not to waste it.
The forest trail was thick with vegetation, but the rusty dagger made short work of the branches. I'm hoping to q come up on another clearing to take inventory or a tall tree so I can see exactly where I am. Whichever comes first cause Evie did say I was gonna be close enough to Orario to see the Tower of Babel. Even though I'm in the shade, these trees are killing me with the humidity, I think I lost like 10 lbs running from the goblin and this heat. Is that… it looks like another clearing so I will get to take stock of my progress and look at my skills hopefully. I feel like I will need it sooner than later.
The forest clearing was awash in sunlight. A light breeze swept through, picking up the loose leaves and swirling them on the ground So I look around the clearing that I stumbled upon, quite literally thanks to the giant fucking tree root I didn't see. It seems like even in the new life I'm still clumsy. As I look around watching the birds flying around, I feel like I put off looking at my skills long enough and decided to start with ' get creative'. A screen fills my vision showing me a 3d image of myself, I noticed that I looked younger than my actual age. This means I get the chance to grow with my character but I have to go through 'shudder' puberty again. I rub my hand on my face thinking it's gonna be rough with all the guaranteed hotties in this world. As I'm in my own little world, I look at the screen again noticing that in addition to my 3d image it also has a list for my attributes and for skills. "I wonder how much LP I start with?" I'm in shock cause over the box of skills shows an LP box with the number 20k. I check the log for the reason why I have twenty thousand points. Using my hand to scroll down, the reason was that I seduced an powerful being of death and survived.
I realized I really am a lucky son of a bitch. Heh well this will be a big help. Looking at my stats show a basic character sheet for rpg except a abnormal amount of luck. I face palm and sigh heavily, of course I would have protagonist's luck. That's a problem for future me, let's make skills. Let's start with the 'item box.' That's self explanatory, and I plan to make item storage boxes later and get real rich, heh heh. So a small box costs 500 LP and stores 30 items of small size i.e daggers, gloves,cloaks. It could also just hold monster stones only in which case it holds 100 depending on the size. I'm gonna go with 2 for now and upgrade to the bigger ones later.

I also need the skill 'discerning eye' like the anime. It would obviously help me with my goals of blacksmithing, and it costs 300 LP. "Score, this is perfect, now what else will I need?" Item boxes, discerning eye... oh I know,the blacksmith skill would be nice so let's see how bout master class? My hand subconsciously rubs my head as I see the cost for master class (14,000), if I get this (18700-14000) I'll be left with 4700 LP. Legendary class costs too much right now (30,000) and with me using my other perk of geneticist, I won't have to use LP to start my HP and mana regeneration. I shake my head and take master blacksmith I'll get the points back and I can start making equipment and items to further boost my income.
GROWLLL... my hand flys to my stomach and I realize I haven't eaten yet. That's when it hits me, I'm gonna be an explorer I'm gonna need survivalist and herbalist which cost 700LP all together bringing me to 4000 LP. I look at my inventory screen and see the beginning armor and weapon, as well as camping gear with rations. I take out the rations and start to come up with a game plan. Do I want to go straight to Orario and get in a familia? Or stay out here for a bit and tackle the monsters I've been avoiding? Either way moves me towards my goal but one helps build my excelia and LP. As I finish my rations, I stand up and dust myself off and get ready for monster hunting.
I equipped my starter armor with was light plate and leather,and weapons which makes me think Evie had a sense of humor cause she gave me a war hammer. This thing is slightly taller than me at 5'11 (hey I'm in a 14 year olds body sue me)the best part is I can wield it with one hand. The hammer looks like medieval Spawn's as well as his sword. Both of these weapons are basic for now but they serve their purpose. As I walk into the forest, I notice it's gone quiet. On the left! A kobold jumps out at me howling for blood. I dodge in a roll to avoid the crude sword it had. 'Swoosh' went the sword just missing my head. That was soo close I could see my reflection in the blade. Damn it, it's time to stop playing around. I blocked the next swipe of the blade, then swiped the legs out from under it. The kobold had a look of stunned disbelief on its face as I swung the hammer down on its head, crushing it and promptly exploding into ash as a stone lays on the ground. Huh, a flashing in the corner of my vision? Oh it must be an alert to tell me how many LPs I got. I click on it and it flash the usual spiel about killing a monster due to decapitation earned me 50LP. Sweet and now it.. oh wait a drop? I stare at the item in the grass not realizing it a first but then I say 'discerning eye'. Hmm a kobold nail? Super sweet, more money for me.

That will be a nice extra bonus. As I stand there catching my breath, I start looking around the pile of monster stones and drops when suddenly to my left someone says "Hello there". I did not scream like a little bitch as I jumped and fell on my ass. I also didn't fall cheek first onto a pile of kobold nails in which I promptly roll to the side due to the sharpness. "Son of a bitch! My asscheeks probably look like a pincushion." I suddenly remember why I jumped in the first place when female voice responds "Yes it does, that has to be painful. Do you require help?" I look to the voice and let me say that the anime or LN never give enough credit to the female characters. They are downright beautiful my friend. Using my discerning eye, the person in front of me is identified as goddess Demeter, which promptly makes me bow. Hey I want to be a legendary blacksmith and all around badass, but I still show respect until I have a reason not to. Demeter sweat-drops at my actions and starts waving her hands telling me to "Cut that out, I'm not one to stand on ceremony. Especially if I cause you pain. Like I asked 'do you need help?' Those look like they hurt." For a minute I forgot I was in pain due to...cough well at least the anime had that right. Those divine melons can melt brains man I tell ya. But anyway I reach for the nails sticking out of my ass and pull. "Fuck that hurts." Half of the nails barely broke the armor let alone my cheek . But some did and the holes in my ass say I need to pay better attention.
No matter it'll be ok soon due to my geneticist ability. As I turn back towards the goddess , I realize she had been talking to me and was waiting on a response. "Sorry I spaced out for a minute, could you repeat what you said goddess?" Demeter gave an exasperated look but still managed to give that hot milf look. Heh my mind is destined for the gutter. "May I ask what are you doing here? You wouldn't happen to be here for the quest from the guild would you?" She asks with a cute little laugh and a tilt of her head. I dust myself off before answering her "No goddess, I just happen to be heading to Orario and I stumbled into groups of kobolds and goblins. I could always use fine tuning of my skills so I dispatched them."
Way to go Logan, you totally sounded like a badass. Shit wait a second, can't the gods detect lies? I better 'create' a lying skill able to fool the gods. 'Silver Tongued Devil' is perfect and it is 1000LP, well within my price range. I give a start as Demeter is waving her hand in my face to get my attention. I really need to work on my time manipulation. My face is flushed as I respond "I'm sorry my mind in all over today. I'm new to the area and trying to head to Orario." Demeter gives a bright smile worthy of the goddess of harvest and says "Well that works perfectly, I'm heading back to my familia and I would be happy to show you to the gates." Now at this time I'm thinking I have to be one of the luckiest people in this universe. I have a brunette bombshell offering to help me to Orario. So of course I push my luck and say " I would be a fool if I turned down an offer from from a beautiful lady such as yourself. So there is only one thing to do." I offer her my arm and give her a flirtatious wink. I just about die from cuteness overload as Demeter has an atomic red blush on her face. She stands there mumbling to herself but I catch the words 'cute boy' and '...called me beautiful."
As fun as it would be to watch her embarrass herself more, I spared her by coughing into my hand. Demeter snapped out of it and rubs the back of her head. The embarrassed look really does work for her. So anyway I offer my arm again and say "Shall we?" She looks positively giddy as she accepts my arm and we start walking. As we walk down the path, Demeter was explaining why she was in the forest. "... so those kobolds have been causing havoc for my familia's businesses in the forest and on the plain. I was told by the guild that an adventurer had dispatched the kobolds but it seems like it never happened. I'm glad you were there, if not I would of been attacked." She says this with emotion in her voice. She looks at me with tears in her eyes and says "Thank you Logan, if you weren't here I would be dead and I would see me familia again. I owe you my life so I offer you one favor to be used whenever for anything at all." At this declaration, I stop in my tracks and stare wide eyed at Demeter. A goddess just offered me a favor with no limit and I'm in stunned disbelief. Thank god I'm not a scumbag cause the first thing I said to her was " I'm honored goddess I am, but a favor of that scale seems too much for me. You need to watch the phrasing of that statement, a less honorable man would take advantage of it. I didn't do it with the intention of getting a favor from you."
Demeter looks me in the eyes, grabs my hand,and says " I know, that's why I offered you that kind of favor. I may have just met you but I am a goddess who has been around for a long while, I pride myself on my judge of character. You my dear Logan, have great character and will shake Orario to its core. So save that favor for a rainy day, just know that today, you have won my favor."

Wow, I don't even know what to say to that. I cannot just not say anything. So I take her hand give it a kiss as per custom, and state " You honor me goddess Demeter, I accept your favor and will be respectful with my request." She raises her free hand to her face "Oh my, such good manners on one so young. Be careful Logan, or you will be on all the goddess's radar. We goddesses like to feel pampered you know?" I chuckle as we continue walking. As we come out of the forest, I say to her " I will try to remember that goddess."
After a few more minutes of walking on the path, we break through the forest cover and have the afternoon sun shine bright in our faces. After our vision clears up, Lady Demeter says"Well would you look at that?" She points to the right and says "There it is Logan, Orario and the Tower of Babel no matter how long I've been here, that will always be an impressive sight." As I look at it I have to agree with her. The tower appears to be connected to the sky with how high it actually is. Then there is the view of Orario itself, the city seems to stretch for miles. The wall that Bell uses for training disappears on the horizon. This is where I will be making my fame and fortune. I'm literally vibrating with excitement and can't contain the shout of joy I let loose "YAHOOOO... finally got to Orario." I say to Demeter "Sincerely from the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing me the way here. I promise to stop by your familia home to let you know how it goes with my search." Since I was occupied staring at Orario, I didn't see the atomic blush on Demeter's face nor the classic hand on heart pose. "Heeeeeey goddess, where did you disappear to? We looked everywhere for you. Who's this guy?" We turn towards the voice and see a attractive elf and a older looking dwarf walking up to us. Demeter snaps out of lala land and greets what I assume to be her familia members. As they converse, I go over what my first steps will be. 1) Due to the late hour, rent a room at a inn for the night. 2) In the morning I go to Hephaestus familia and join. 3) Register at the guild and work out how to get stronger without completely relying on 'get creative'. 4) Figure out how to use all my abilities and created skills to change the fate of Orario. That will do for now, like Tony Montana said "Then When You Get The Money, You Get The Power. Then When You Get The Power, Then You Get The Women." My ultimate goal of course is to have a good life surrounded by good women and friends.
As I'm deep in thought, Demeter and her children finished their conversation and came over to talk. The female elf got my attention by waving at me and saying "Thank you for finding our goddess and keeping her safe. You also helped our familia by defeating those monsters. They were destroying our crops that we grow right inside the forest." The dwarf handed me a bag and said "This is a little something for your troubles and as a thank you. You can consider yourself a friend of Demeter familia, by the way my name is Skarg, vice captain of the familia." "My name is Lori, I'm one of the farmers employed by Demeter. We truly cannot thank you enough." Lori says as she bows to me, which immediately has me freaking out. I tell her "None of that now, a pretty lady like you shouldn't bow to me when I was honestly just trying out my new weapons. I was happy to help your goddess so no need for formality." She stands up and smiles at me stating "Thanks for the compliment, and thank goodness cause I don't stand on formalities either. Me and my husband are just really happy that you were there for goddess." Skarg walks up to her and places a hand around her. "I thank you for calling my wife pretty, but she's mine." He says with a hearty chuckle.
Wow, go figure an elf and a dwarf would be married together. I thought in lore that they had a rivalry too strong for relationships but hey to each their own. Demeter comes up to me looking sad. " We're going back home now, it was a great time. I got to say I'm going to miss you already in the brief time we talked." I take her hand in mine and smile at her. "It's ok my lady, I'll be here in Orario so theres a good chance we will run into one another. Plus I'll need to get supplies for adventuring so of course I'll see you again." She looks taken aback at first but she brings out her smile that can make even the hardest piece of earth soft. "I can't wait." She then plants a kiss on my cheek then bolts away. Lori and Skarg just start laughing and wave goodbye.
My hand is on my cheek while my mind is blank. I can't believe my first kiss was from a goddess. YES!!! I'm the man damn it. As the sun is close to setting,I start the walk to the main gates. Wait.. how many LP do I get from that kiss?

I feel like this is a good spot to end this chapter. I'm still not sure about the LP gains and values. I will listen to suggestions about values. As for the Demeter angle, I feel like she isn't used enough and she is an important goddess that's never really used right. Romance will be here eventually.
This is Danmachi so there will be a harem, I'm not sure how many girls to add. I will be trying to use girls rarely used but keep in mind this takes place before main cannon.
