Chapter 3 – Wotan
?
It had been watching her for some time now.
She would become its Master.
Studying her habits.
Learning about her nature.
It would be born from her nature. She needed to observe.
…
Further time is needed to better observe.

It was now she.
Her link to her Master revealed that her Master needed her. Her time of awakening was now.
Her purpose was to grant her Master power and the means to wield that power.
[Name: Maiden of Metal Runic Script, Wotan]

Mechanic, Crescent Rose
After having to kick the hatch open -several times- Crescent rushed toward the kids. Rather than scared, it was more that they hadn't managed to process what exactly had happened. From their perspective, a robot just stood up before 'warping' in between them, and a big lizard just disappeared.
Now she knew how Yang felt that time she jumped out of that tree when she was five.
Checking children for injuries- and thankfully finding none- Crescent looked at the Marshall II for the first time since defeating the monster. What was grey metal and patches of rust was solid red with a red energy cape fluttering behind it. If she looked closely enough, she could see writing all over the chassis and limbs.
Suddenly, in a burst of light, the cape and the red coloring vanished, and in front of the Marshall II was a short young girl. For some reason, she was wearing what looked like black wolf footie pajamas complete with a hood that looked like her face was sticking out of its mouth. On her back looked like a small pair of blackbird wings. As for her face, she had porcelain skin with a few curled blonde locks sticking out of the side of the hole for her face. She had piercing blue eyes- well eye- the other was covered with a black eyepatch.
"Greeting Master, I am your Embryo, Maiden of Metal Runic Script, Wotan. A Type: Maiden with Arms." She introduced before casually walking over to what looked like a pale yellow box of some kind. Scooping it up, she walked over to Crescent and the kids and handed it to her. "I believe this belongs to you."
When she looked at the box, it said it was Twin-Headed Lesser Chameleon Basilisk Treasure Coffer.
"I think you might need this." She- Wotan- said somewhat shyly.
"Why would I need this, er, actually, what is this?"
She had heard the word 'coffer' somewhere, but couldn't remember what it was.
"It's an inventory with treasure in it that you bust open." One of the kids said cheerfully while looking at Wotan like she was some amazing thing they had never seen before.
"SO I just break it?" Crescent asked trying to open it by crushing it in her hands…only to fail spectacularly. What was it made of titanium?
"Master I think there is a better way."
"Oh, and what is that?"
"This," Wotan said as he hit it with a wrench that she found on the ground. Her impromptu launch flung all of her tools everywhere.
She hoped she didn't break any of her tools. Being tossed probably didn't break anything, but she wasn't sure the Marshall II hadn't stepped on any of them.
Once struck, the box burst into mots of light and…
Acquired Lesser Chameleon Basilisk Skin Leather Suit
Acquired Dragonscale Ward
Acquired Ementerium
Acquired Antidote
Acquired Antidote
"Wow…that's a lot of stuff." She said absentmindedly as Wotan and the children nodded in agreement.
"You could have just put it in your inventory, opened the item list, and selected to open it to." Said one of the children.
Crescent eye and now sheepish-looking Wotan who was trying to hide the wrench behind her back.
"I think you kids should head home now. And maybe don't play so far from the city again." She said absentmindedly as she collected her drop items.
"Okay." They said in unison. They were such good kids…Was this how Yang felt?
Now all those times she caught her sister smiling at her were starting to make sense.
/-/
On a nearby hill, a woman with curly orange hair and a humanoid black wolf in a lab coat with bone spikes piercing through the coat looked on at the scene.
They had been chasing that thing and its kin for half the day, killing most, and damaging those few that managed to flee until about a tenth of their health or less. But it kept getting away due to its mutated skills that allowed it to increase its normal Camouflage to Partial Intangibility.
"Well, I wasn't expecting that." The wolfman said more surprised than he had intended. While the young woman had indeed helped him out of a potentially dangerous situation, the fact a level 0 Mechanic had taken out a monster, that if not for its focus on stealth and debuffs would have had stats putting it just below a pure dragon class, in a single attack, even if it was severely weakened was more than a little surprising.
"Agreed." The woman hummed as her green eyes glowed against the backdrop of her black sclera. If one looked closely at her, one would see her arms and legs were jointed like that of a doll under her clothing that made her look like a typical schoolgirl. "I think the guild master will find this rather interesting." She said taking out a magic item and forwarding the pictures she took to their guild master.
"I'd say she's done a sensational job, we should congratulate her." She went to walk forward, but the wolfman stopped her.
"I think she's had enough excitement for today. Let us not give her any more grief in knowing that not only were there more of the Twin-Headed Lesser Chameleon Basilisk surrounding them but also that we still have more to clean up."
Sighing, "You're right. She just seems like she would make a good friend."
"I see." He said absentmindedly stroking his chin before taking out what looked like sunflower seeds and swallowing a handful in one gulp. "She seems to have completed the guild master's quest, so I'd imagine you'd get a chance to see her sometime soon." He tried to reassure her as his body began to shift and twist before a massive fly-type head attached to a circular toothy maw sprung from his right shoulder and six pairs of giant insectoid wings burst from his back.
"Now let us make sure those children she cares about don't have to worry about any more monsters interrupting their play time."
"Yeah." She said as her hands shifted into what looked like claws made of curved swords.
However, as they left, they weren't the only ones. Three more sets of eyes had seen what had happened and the full scope of which would not be known until much later.
/-/
"So…" Crescent began once the kids had left.
"So…?" Wotan asked.
"You're my Embryo?"
"Yes, yes I am, Master."
"And the name Wotan?"
"It is another name for the Norse God Odin."
That had Crescent through a loop. She had heard Embryos take names from mythology, folk tales, and even works of fiction, but she wasn't exactly expecting the All-Father of the North.
"How did I get Odin of all people…er mythologies?"
Wotan simply chuckled as she helped Crescent begin picking up the tools that were scattered after preemptively launching the Marshall II.
"Well, first and foremost your desires for knowledge- your curiosity about all things in this world-, the desire to protect no matter the cost, and your desire to wield the weapon you have to always win, much like Odin and his Gungnir."
"Isn't Odin more known for like magic and stuff? Does that mean I need to switch to a Mage job or something?"
Wotan chuckled again. "No, no. Embryos gain their themes from different aspects of the legend. Why a person could get the Embryo Zeus and only get the ability relating to Myrmidons despite him being far more commonly known for things like hurling lightning. (1) Or a person could have Lugh as an Embryo and only have abilities relating to crafting despite him being a warrior, king, and a hundred other things."
"In my case, my theme is more aligned with Odin wielded Gungnir. In fact, I might have been named Gungnir if not simply for the fact my function relates to 'wielding' a weapon rather than being a weapon."
"I see." Was all she could say, still processing things. "…and the outfit?" she asked eyeing the girl in the wolf costume.
"Odin is known to be accompanied by wolves and ravens, add in your personality, and you get a girl in wolf/raven pajamas." She said smiling and showing off that she was somehow able to wiggle the tail on the back.
Not like shaking her hips, but literally, wiggling it like it was part of her.
…okay, she was kind of cute when she did that while making a begging pose.
"Do you have any skills?"
"Yes, you can see them by opening your menu." She replied. Doing so Crescent observed that not only had she leveled up she was actually at level 20. Just how strong was that thing?
She also noticed she had a message stating she had completed her Job Quest and received experience points on top of the EXP she got from the monster.
Despite her surprise, Wotan began explaining her skills, "Firstly, like any Embryo I provide status corrections. In my case it is C rank for both MP and DEX."
"C rank?"
"Status corrections are buffs to one or more of the eight stats a player has. The more focused the Embryo's skills the higher the status correction, but at the same time the less diverse their abilities."
"you mentioned Resource allocation before, so does that mean Embryos have a set amount of Resources they can use and the number of skills and their focus determine how powerful they are. Like picking one really powerful skill or picking a dozen weak skills?"
At that Wotan smiled, "As expected of my Master. You got it in one. Status corrections are passive and technically don't count as skills. They are ranked from a 10% increase at G rank to A rank with a 200% increase. C rank is roughly 100% by the way. There are also those hyper focused Embryos with S rank which is 300% and even EX which is more than double S rank. Of course, these are just a rough guideline as different Embryos can have different correction amounts even in the same rank depending on the minute differences in their status corrections."
"Oh, okay. And your skills?"
"My first skill, Master the Swaying Weapon, comes from Gungnir as its name means 'swaying'. It is a passive skill that grants you, my Master, the proficiency to use anything that is designated as a weapon. That's why you could suddenly move the Marshall II so much better. It also turns the weapon red."
"Even a giant robot?" she asked incredulously despite having already seen it herself.
"Especially a giant robot."
"So cool, but wait? If you were the one who spoke in my ear during that time, what was that other skill?"
"Runic Script, a skill derived from Gungnir having runes inscribed on the tip, is an active skill of mine. You might not have noticed this, but the Marshall II was encased in runes that allow me to enhance the damage it does by fivefold."
"FIVEFOLD!" she all but shouted. "That is insane. I thought first forms were supposed to be weak?"
Wotan simply chuckled, she had a rather pleasant laugh to her, "Master there are two reasons for this."
"The first", she began holding up one finger which also showed that her pajama-like suit included gloves with fingers tipped with what looked like soft wolf claws, "is that I am a Type: Maiden Embryo. All Maiden Embryos are styled after the concept of 'giant killing' which means we excel at defeating foes typically stronger than our Masters. My Resources were allocated to helping you not only use your weapons but also enhance their damage potential. The latter will potentially evolve into an 'Advance' category in the future."
"Evolve?"
"Embryos have their five basic categories, but each category has two potential High-End forms they can possibly evolve into. Such as a Type: Arms evolving into a Type: Weapon whose function is focused on being used as a weapon or Type: Calculator which is focused on using advanced calculations."
"Additionally, it is completely possible for an Embryo to gain additional typing such as becoming an Advance Calculator or Weapon Gear. Type: Advance and Type: Gear are also High-End forms of the Type: Chariot."
"But I thought you said you were a Maiden with Arms?"
"I am."
"Then how is that different from Type: Advance? You mentioned you might evolve into it."
"That is very simple and this goes into my second point." She said raising the second finger, "Simply put Type: Advance enhances the parameters something in some way such as making it move faster or granting it some passive ability, whereas I just enhance the damage output while in my Arms form. A.K.A. the energy cape."
"I don't get the differ-" She began to say before the right arm of the Marshall II groaned and creaked before snapping off and clattering to the ground.
"Never mind. I get the difference now." Crescent sighed as Wotan flashed her an apologetic smile. It was admittedly more balanced when the weapon enhancement deteriorated the weapon's durability. Still, that meant she either needed a way to make her weapons regenerate or just have such absurd durability Wotan's skill wouldn't break it.
"At least the damage wasn't too bad." She sighed…before the hip of the machine groaned as well before collapsing into a heap on the ground.
"You jinxed that one Master," Wotan said only to be on the receiving end of a silvery half-hearted glare. To which said wolf girl burst out laughing.
Shaking her head in a sigh, Crescent was wondering if this was somehow payback for all those times she gave Yang a headache. Maybe the guild lady would be nice enough to give her a discount on some of the materials needed to fix it.
Yeah, she was a nice person, she could definitely help her.
/-/
"I'm sorry, I definitely cannot help you." She replied dryly…while at the same time cuddling Wotan.
She hadn't even gotten a chance to fluff her Embryo. She was hers and she looked so soft.
"Mine." She said partially taking back her fluffy wolf/raven girl.
"So fluffy!" she all but yelled feeling Wotan's suit for the first time as she rubbed her head on her shoulder.
"Super fluffy." The guild receptionist echoed mirroring the younger girl.
"Um…don't you need materials or something?" Wotan asked trying to figure a way out of becoming a body pillow.
""Oh right."" The two said in unison before getting off of Wotan, though neither let go of her hand.
"I'm sorry to inform you of this, but the guild has a set amount they are willing to loan someone so inexperienced. And you already met that limit when I saw you last."
"I know, I know. I was fixing it, then there was this two-headed chameleon thing and some kids were in danger and my Embryo was born and we kind of, sort of, maybe…'broke' the Marshall II saving the kids."
The woman, looking serious for once, eyed her critically for a moment. if I didn't have max level Truth Discernment, I would think you were lying." She said before sighing.
"If I understand you correctly, you were repairing the mech from the quest, a monster appeared, and in trying to protect some children from it, your Embryo awakened and used some type of damage boosting skill which while strong enough to kill the monster had the negative side effect of reducing the durability of the Marshall II to the point it collapsed under its own weight, correct?"
"Yeah."
Sighing again, "Can you please show me the items the monster dropped?"
"Oh, okay," Crescent replied placing the items on the counter. The receptionist took one look at them and gasped.
"I-is this…are these items all drops?" she asked seemingly somewhat shaky.
"Y-yes, but I can only see the items' names. Not what they do."
She put her finger to her chin stroking it in thought. "That is perfectly normal. Unless you have a skill like Identification or one of the more specific variations, you won't be able to see much more than its name."
"Do you have that skill?" Crescent asked.
"But of course and at max level." She said, puffing up her chest.
""So cool."" Both Crescent and Wotan said looking at her starry-eyed. "You like a super receptionist." One of them said.
"Yes, well, since you can appreciate a good receptionist, I'll tell you about the items."
"These." She said gesturing to the two vials, "are common antidotes. You can take them to deal with most poisons and even hangovers. Typically, they run about 1,000 lir each."
"This", she said gesturing to a blue pendant that looked like a lizard scale, "Is known as a Dragonscale Ward. They reduce the damage of a single attack by 90% but break afterward. They are pretty expensive at 300,000 lir a piece."
Crescent's eyes almost bulged out of her head upon hearing that. That was 60 times more money than what she started with.
Giggling at the young girl's over-the-top expression, she then pointed to the ingot of silvery metal with a feint green tint. "This is called Ementerium. When processed, it is used to make high-value coins typically used in trade between nations. An ingot of this size is about 20,000 lir."
"And this…" she said before taking a real look at the leather suit. She seemed to blink while looking like she didn't believe what she was seeing. "You have certainly had a good haul, Ms. Rose." Said the receptionist.
"Is it a good item?"
"Yes, I would certainly say so." She began, "It is a Lesser Chameleon Basilisk Skin Leather Suit and while I have never heard of that specific species it seems to have been quite a powerful one by both the sheer number of rewards you received as well as the quality of the item derived from it."
"It has the skills Appearance Change, Low MP Regeneration, and Petrification Resistance. The fact there are no level restrictions, has two built-in inventories, and MP +200 makes it a very valuable item. I would appraise its value at least around 700,000 lir."
If the Dragonscale Ward had Crescent's eyes bulging, this had her looking like she might die of a heart attack.
"As a representative of the guild, I would like to buy some or all of these items if you are willing to sell." She beamed. "I promise you we will not only meet the market rate but are willing to go as high as 130% of the current market rate."
"O-one hundred thirty percent!?"
Wotan had to catch Crescent to prevent her from falling backward.
"Uh, um, is it okay to only sell the Ementerium?"
"May I ask why only the Ementerium?"
"The potions are a must-have, and so is the Dragonscale Ward." The receptionist nodded. "As for the suit, I still only have my starting equipment, I think I shouldn't pass up the chance on such a rare item."
Sighing again, she seemed to be doing that a lot, "I can understand your reasoning. Can I assume you wish to square your debt with us and buy some more ingots to repair the Marshall II?"
"Yeah, if I can."
"Very well. 20,000 lir at 130% is 26,000 lir. The contract you signed was for 10,000 lir worth of tools and ingots. Based on the damage, you'll need at least 15,000 lir worth of ingots to repair all the damage." She said making Crescent wince. "However, since you completed your first quest with the guild and went above and beyond to save the children, you are awarded 10,000 lir for both compensation and congratulations. Bringing your total to 11,000 lir." She said taking the necessary coins out of her inventory and handing them to Crescent. "I'll be back with the ingots in a moment."
/-/
"Wow, that receptionist was sure nice." Said Wotan as the two walked out of the guild. Crescent had equipped the leather suit and shifted its appearance to a red and white pilot suit with a silver rose over her heart and a red rose on the patch of white on her back. The whole suit included gloves and boots connected to the suit itself.
It didn't change the benefits or offer more defense, but she had to admit, she looked good. She may or may not have taken inspiration from an old mecha anime she and her mom watched when she was little. That Chris character was so cool. (2)
As they began to get further from the guild, a rumbling echoed between them causing them both to blush.
"I guess Embryos need to eat too, don't they?"
"Yep, at least those that can," Wotan replied.
"Then how about we get something good to eat to celebrate our first successful quest!"
"Yeah." Wotan cheered, tail wagging like it would fly off.
/-/
?
The receptionist went into the back office after putting the "Out to Lunch" sign on her desk. She sighed as her appearance changed to a tall lean curvaceous woman with dark tanned skin, flowing blue hair to the small of her back, and a large tribal tattoo that covered the right side of her body that looked like a swirling sun originating from her hip.
As for her attire, most would classify it as a cross between a two-piece bikini and chain mail with high-heeled thigh-high boots and red booty shorts, and a silver cape that was a special reward.
Between her special reward cape with a skill that let her look like someone else and her Embryo's ultimate skill, she wouldn't consider it bragging to be called one of the best players in terms of infiltration in Dendrogram.
She looked at the real receptionist, bound and unconscious. This was not how things were supposed to go, but here she was. That little cutie with the blonde tips caused her to have to improvise a little.
Looking at the receptionist, she was on the attractive side, in a sexy librarian kind of way. Since the woman didn't know who knocked her out, she could probably take her out on an apology date later…without telling her of course.
Moving over to the vault, she took out a special reward in the shape of an old iron key and pressed it to the lock. After about thirty minutes it opened. She sweated with the SP drain. That had been one tough lock.
She took a moment to appreciate how vast the contents of the vault really were.
She had heard about using the theory behind inventories to make a building's interior bigger than its exterior, but this was the first time she had ever seen it in person.
In addition to high-capacity inventories full of lir, there were equally large inventories of numerous rare items.
She saw two inventories with the capacity of a sports stadium filled literally with nothing but Dragonscale Wards and Lifesaving Brooches.
Normally she would rationalize taking some of them as they wouldn't miss them, but in this case, they really might not miss them.
However, on a pedestal in the back, she saw her prize. It wouldn't have appeared to be anything of great interest. It was a brown leather-bound book. It appeared to have been treated with magic to prevent its decay, but even then her Identification had told her it was only just a well-made old book. If anything, someone would be more curious as to why something so plain looking would be in a treasure vault.
She tried reading a few pages just out of curiosity, but couldn't make heads or tails of the language. Was it in a code or something?
Still, if this was what her client wanted. Then this was what he got. Plus, whatever she got for herself.
Her client had helped her escape the Kingdom of Altar after that whole debacle with stabbing Count Gideon to death. He really shouldn't have been so handsy with a woman with a knife.
It probably worked out for the best, his kid, Asch-something, can probably handle everything.
Removing all of the transmitters, seriously, she could applaud their commitment, but who puts a transmitter on EVERY SINGLE PAGE, she stored the book in her inventory before repeating the process for a few inventories of things she would like.
She then replaced everything with replicas made using her High Swindler job class. Thankfully her Embryo's ultimate skill was only temporary on people, but permanent on items so they wouldn't be able to discern they were fakes. At least not unless they had a Superior Embryo with some type of analysis skill working for them.
It was always unclear how to Embryos of the same rank but opposing abilities would react. A more common example would be an unbreakable shield Embryo clashing with a sword Embryo that can cut anything.
Given how diverse the abilities of Embryos are finding opposing directly opposing abilities, let alone ones on the same level, was not an easy task and as a result all such experiments were inconclusive.
But she digressed.
After relocking the vault, she set the receptionist in the break room. The drug she had used on her wasn't anything nefarious. It was something tian mothers used to help their children sleep at night. naturally, she increased the dosage for a full-grown woman.
While to some it might have seemed like it would take hours, and while it did take an hour to open the door, being able to move a supersonic speeds thanks to her Superior Job made things move much faster than what most people would have expected. In truth, the whole operation had only taken an hour and a half.
As for the receptionist, she'll wake up feeling completely refreshed and probably think she just dozed off.
All in a day's work for the Assassin Princess, San Diego.

Mechanic, Crescent Rose
Making her way to the café Sweets, Crescent and Wotan walked in and noticed someone sitting in the corner. "Java?"
"Oh, hey Crescent, who's your friend? and…" Java was having a hard time controlling herself seeing Wotan walking around in wolf footie pajamas. "What's with her…unique choice in fashion?"
Before Crescent could answer, Wotan moved forward, "I am the Maiden of Metal Runic Script, Wotan." She introduced herself. "The ultimate Maiden Embryo." She said puffing up her chest…or at least she thought she did, her wolf suit kind of hid everything. If not for her voice and face Crescent wasn't sure she would have been able to tell if she was a boy or a girl.
'That is a very rude thing to say, Master.' Wotan said into Crescent's head.
She looked at her wide-eyed, "C-can you…?"
Wotan just gave her a cocky smile, "Yes Master, all sentient Embryos can read their Master's mind and surface-level memories." she said. "And don't worry, I won't tell Java you think she looks like a super cool fashion model." Wotan continued giving a fake 'oops' upon revealing the information.
"Well this 'super cool fashion model' as you like to think of me, is very happy that you do. I design all of my equipment you know."
"Really?"
"Oh yeah. I'm the leader of a crafting clan called Coffee Lock."
"That is so cool!"
"Well, first things first. You two sit down with me. Order whatever you like it's on me since you think I'm so cool." The caramel-haired woman said giving a winning smile behind her sunglasses.
"You're the best Java."
"I know I am. But what have you been up to?" she asked eyeing Crescent's new driver suit. "Last I checked newbies typically didn't have that kind of swag until they're at least high rank."
Before Crescent could explain what had happened a familiar golden-haired rabbit faunus appeared out of thin air. "Greeting mistresses."
"AH, it's the scary bunny maid!" Crescent all but jumped at the sudden materialization of the woman, latching onto the top half of Wotan while said wolf/raven girl was trying to not fall over.
"I take it you two have met already." Java chuckled while Bun-Bun just giggled behind her hand.
"Oh, yes, I met mistress earlier today. She had ordered five remberry tarts without checking the prices. I had to… incentivize her to not make the same mistake again." She replied with a warm smile like she was describing an adorable bunny she found cutely nibbling on the plants in her garden before releasing it safely in the woods.
"Threatened her with the giant metal serrated sword?" Java asked seemingly unphased.
Bun-Bun just shook her head, "No, some people have gotten used to that one. So now I use dozens of floating knives aimed at their vitals."
"Ah. Good one." She said watching Crescent begin to climb down sensing nothing was going to happen to her. "I'll have the Chicken Alfredo with Chardonnay and these two can have whatever they want."
"I-I have the burger and fries with a chocolate shake," Crescent ordered having just taken a quick look at the menu for something she would like. When she thought for a moment it was a little weird a café had so many different types of dishes. "medium well on the burger and no veggies." She said more out of habit than intent.
Wotan didn't even open her menu, "I'll have the same."
"Very good mistresses, I'll have your orders out in a moment," she said walking towards the kitchen.
"D-do you know her?" Crescent asked when Bun-Bun was out of earshot. And by 'ear shot' she meant in the kitchen through the double doors.
"Bun-Bun?" Crescent nodded. "Yeah, she's one of my clan members and one of the only three Superiors in the country."
"WHAT!" Crescent shouted before looking around and lowering her voice, "what?" she whispered.
"Bun-Bun is what some people like to call a role-player. She loves being a maid when she's not doing things with my clan and she's at the top of the Imperium's Kill Rankings."
"Kill Rankings? She's a PKer?!"
Java snorted, "No, well, sometimes. No, each country has a leader board broken into three categories; the most number of monsters killed in a month, the Kill Ranking, the clan with the most accumulated points for completed quests, the Clan Rankings, and the rankings for those fighting in the coliseum for PVP, the Duel Rankings."
"The Three Greats as some have started calling them are the three leaders of these three categories and have been so almost since they began playing. Bun-Bun, A.K.A. Endless Armory, as I said is the leader of the Kill Rankings. Pop Quiz, Jenny Frame is the leader of the Duel Rankings and thus far undefeated due to her Embryo's crazy ability. Lastly, the leader of the highest ranked clan in Dryfe, the Clock Tower, the Cybernetic Assimilation himself, Doc Cricket."
"I get the feeling you want to be on that list, don't you Master?" Wotan asked giving Crescent a knowing, if cocky smile.
"Well, then you'll need to first be at least good enough to make it into thirtieth place in one of those categories because that is the lowest rank possible."
"Do you think I can do it?"
She smiled at her and ruffled her hair, "In a world of infinite possibilities anything can happen."
"Now tell me how you got such a fashionable suit." Java inquired and Crescent began telling her the story of her first quest.
(1) I'm looking at you Eashtan. A Master from Infinite Dendrogram who summons giant ants from his Embryo Zeus.
(2) Christina Mackenzie from the 10th-anniversary ova Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.
Crescent now has a goal and a means of accomplishing it along with some possible friends to help her. All she needs to do is perform complex maintenance on a severely broken robot with an Embryo that could break any weapon she uses.
Oh, this is going to be fun.
I figured at this point I should start explaining which character is which.
Crescent Rose = Ruby Rose (if you didn't know this one, you for some reason skipped chapter 1. As for her Embryo, well I think Wotan explained everything pretty well herself.)
San Diego = Carmine Esclados (Some people will always find their way into trouble. Even if they don't always know how big that trouble is. I named her San Diego as a bit of a nod to the fact she was based on Carmine Sandiego so I thought it would fit. Her Embryo is based partially on the fact in the books she was a double agent.)
Javanista = Coco Adel (Coco is a fashionista whether in the real world or the 'virtual' world. What better clan for a person who designs her own gear than a crafting clan? I might have come up with the name based on another Rooster Teeth production, Gen: Lock, or something from DnD. I can't quite remember.)
Bun-Bun = Velvet Scarlatina (I'm likening Velvet to B3 in this case. She wanted to be a different person in ID and chose to adopt the upbeat and sweet (while not a pushover and more than a little scary) persona of Bun-Bun. I'll explain more about her Embryo soon enough.)
Jenny Frame = Xanthe Rumpole (her name is a reference to the Spinning Jenny and Spinning Frame, two types of spinning wheels which are a reference to Rumpelstiltskin (the character she is based on)'s spinning wheel which he used to turn the thread into gold. As for her Embryo, I admit I might have taken inspiration from a few places, but I think it fits her and can't wait to reveal it.)
Doc Cricket = Pietro Polendina (I don't think I was very subtle with this one. For those who are big fans of science fiction, you'll probably like his Embryo.)
