Author's Notes: Hi, readers. Here's chapter thirteen of "Just Away." This chapter has Ranger action and Kat's first battle as the Pink Ranger. I am so glad to have finally gotten to this point. It has been a while in coming, but it was well worth it. Stay tuned for chapter fourteen.

Chapter 13: Skirmish in the Park
Screaming and crying echoed through the air as Motha and the Tengas terrorized civilians and tourists at the playground. She threw a chair at a young man as he fled from her. He dove for the ground and watched it fly over his head. He listened to it striking the sidewalk. He got up and resumed running away. He panted very hard. She spotted three fleeing middle-aged women. She fired her eye beams at them, only to miss when they ducked. The women and the man rushed down the sidewalk.
Two Tengas slapped teen boys across their faces. They swept their feet out from underneath them with swings of their arms. They tried to punch them in their faces, only to miss when they rolled aside. They boys jumped to their feet and fled for their lives. The Tengas raced to a knocked-over trashcan. They picked up cups and tossed them at the boys. The boys ducked, causing the cups to miss. They raced after the adults.
"It feels so good to be terrorizing humans," Motha growled in much joy. She eyed a teen girl running toward her truck. "You're not getting away that easily, bitch!"
Motha looked at a tree branch. She chuckled while firing her eye beams at it. They struck the base of it, causing it to fall in the girl's path. The girl skidded to a halt. She ran around it. Motha leapt through the air, turning around and landing in front of her. She grabbed her throat. The girl struggled against her grip, but she couldn't get free. She began to cry.
"Please, let me go!" the girl pleaded, tears streaming down her cheek as she whimpered softly.
"No way!" Motha commented, shaking her head. "I am going to have some fun with you!"
Motha lowered the girl, tossing her very hard. The girl landed on her back, a loud grunt leaving her mouth. She rolled over on her stomach. Motha walked up to her to grab a fistful of hair. She pulled her head back, causing her to cry out in pain. She gave it another pull, this one being harder. She cried painfully once more.
"Let me go! Please!" the girl screamed.
"Not a chance!" Motha said while opening her mandibles. "You will—"
Suddenly, six colored laser beams struck the ground next to Motha. They exploded on impact, causing her to lose her grip on the girl and throwing her into the air. She landed on her back with a loud grunt. She sat up, seeing Tommy, Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Billy, and Kat not far from her. Tommy had Saba pointing at her, as did the other with their Blade Blasters.
"Back off, Wing Breath!" Rocky called as he, Aisha, Billy, Kat, and Adam switched their weapons to sword mode and sheathed them.
"You think torturing people makes you look tough," Tommy said while sheathing Saba. "It doesn't. It makes you a coward."
"We're not letting you get away with it!" Kat blurted out fiercely
"That's right!" Billy hissed in much ferocity.
"Because we're the Power Rangers!" Aisha shouted and gritted her teeth.
"We are not backing down!" Adam shouted in much determination. "No way, no how!"
All six Power Rangers formed fighting stances. Motha stood up, an angry growl leaving her mouth. She pointed her wings at them while emitting a loud hiss. The Tengas gathered around her. Their caws and squawks filled the air as they waved their arms about.
"Zordon may have replaced Kimberly with Kat as the Pink Ranger, but it does not matter!" Motha snarled and curled her hand into a fist. "You will not defeat me!"
"That's what you think, Ms. Moth!" Tommy retorted, a fierce growl leaving his mouth.
Rocky tightened his fist. "You and your Tengas are going down!"
Motha hissed. "No way. Get them, Tengas!"
The Tengas raced for the Rangers, who responded in kind. Rocky front-flipped and punched a Tenga in the beak. He grabbed its arm. He twisted it around and went under it. He rolled over its back before tripping it with a swing of his arm. Another Tenga grabbed him from the side. It wrapped its arms around him. He pushed it away and performed a roundhouse kick. He took hold of its arm. He smirked at it, and it shook its head rapidly. He twirled it around three times before letting go of it. It crashed into a tree. He laughed gleefully and pumped his fist.
"I hope the tree said hello, birdbrain!" Rocky said as he waved at the Tenga. "Maybe you should eat some wood."
Just then, a Tenga jumped on Rocky from the side. It started beating on him with its fists, garbles coming from its mouth. He grabbed its head and pushed it away. He took hold of its arm to kick it in the side. He gave it two hard head butts. He swung his arm at its feet, sweeping them out from underneath it. He jammed his elbow into its chest in which he immobilized it.
Another Tenga leapt on Rocky from an overhanging tree branch. This knocked him to the pavement. It punched him multiple times in the head. He placed his foot against its stomach, flipping it over his head. He rose to his feet, as did it with an angry garble. He made a leap over its head. He bounced off a lamppost to dropkick it in the back. It flew into a charging one. They ended up in a heap on the pavement. Jason landed in a graceful way.
"Never look a gift Tenga in the beak," Rocky joked. He spotted three Tengas charging at him and went to deal with them.
A Tenga tried to grab Adam, but he did a front flip to avoid it. He spun around and kicked it hard in the side three times. He attempted to kick it in the nose, but it caught his foot in its hand. It jerked him forward, and he ended up on his back. It pinned him down. It proceeded to give him multiple punches to the face. He placed his foot against its stomach and flipped it over his head. He jumped to his feet and faced it. It charged at him, only to be knocked down with a chop to the face from him.
Another Tenga tackled Adam to the ground. It started ramming its fist into his neck. He grabbed its face to twist its head to the side. It slammed its fist into the side of his head. This forced him to let go of it. It grabbed his throat and slammed him against a picnic table. He shoved it away with his foot. He leapt into the air with a loud yell dropkicked it in the chest. It was sent flying into the wall of a store. It fell on its stomach. He laughed in victory.
"Talk about running into things," Adam commented with a determined growl. He raced for four Tengas as they charged at him.
Aisha kicked a Tenga in the back. She front-flipped to avoid another one lunging at her. Two Tengas charged at her with their hands outstretched. She cartwheeled and backflipped past them. They skidded to a halt. They spun around with loud caws. They became angry and raced for their quarry. She did a roundhouse kick to their beaks, which stopped them in their tracks. She swept their feet out from underneath them with a swing of her arm. She laughed in victory.
"You two need a nap," Aisha joked. "I hope you have a nice one."
Without warning, three Tengas jumped on Aisha from behind. They beat on her with their fists. She struggled against their grasp at first, but she managed to break free of it. She kicked the first Tenga in the stomach. She grabbed its arm and uppercutted it in the neck four times. She twisted its arm around as she went under it. It punched her in the face, making her let go of it. She caught its fist in her hand. She punched it in the face with a fierce yell. She jumped and dropkicked it in the chest. It flew backward and crashed into a bush. It fell on its stomach with a groan.
The second Tenga grabbed Aisha with a loud squawk. It held her steady as the third Tenga punched her in the stomach multiple times. She kicked it away. She elbowed its companion in the chest. This forced it to let go of her. She did a spinning heel kick to its face. It spun around twice without falling. She performed a roundhouse kick to the chest. It flew into a nearby tree and ended up on its side.
The other Tenga sneaked up behind Aisha. She caught it in the corner of her eye. She spun around, striking it with a fist to the face. It attempted to grab her, but it missed when she jumped back. She took hold of its arm before performing multiple uppercuts. She grabbed it with the other hand. She twirled it around four times and released her hold on it. It hit a bench sideways, flipping over it. It landed on its back. She saw three Tengas charging at her and raced for them.
Kat rolled forward when a Tenga tried to make a grab for her. She made it to her feet and jumped into the air. She headed for it in which she scored a kick to the head. It fell down, but it flipped itself on its feet. She landed and leapt over its head. She bounced off a tree and kicked him in the back. It flew forward, crashing into a charging Tenga. Both of them ended up in a heap on the pavement. She landed gracefully and laughed in glee.
"This is heaps of fun!" Kat blurted out and cleared her throat. "I am loving fighting these Tengas. By the way, Tenga, I hope you love your little nap."
A Tenga leapt on Kat from the side and beat on her with its fists. She tossed it aside while yelling. She backflipped as another leapt at her. Two Tengas jumped on her from behind. They alternated between kicking and punching her. She managed to get out of their grasp. She elbowed the first Tenga in the beak before getting a hold of its arm. She twirled it around five times and let go of it. It collided with a lamppost and fell on its back.
The second Tenga grabbed Kat's throat, a fierce squawk leaving its beak. It lowered her and threw her. She flew through the air in which she hit the sidewalk hard. It went to her and tried to step on her, missing when she rolled aside. She got up and took hold of its arm. She pulled it behind its back. It swung its other arm at her head, but she ducked with a yell. She returned to her full height while clenching her teeth. She placed her foot on its backside and shoved it toward the side of a car. It hit its head on the driver window. It fell on its side and groaned loudly.
"I hate to tell you, Tenga, but I don't run into car windows. Oh, well. Your face print will look good on that one," Kat quipped and snickered to herself. She saw a Tenga rushing at her and headed for it.
Tommy kicked a Tenga in the stomach. He elbowed another in the face. He slammed his fist against the head of one more. He shoved it into a tree, and it fell on its side. Two Tengas sneaked up behind him. He spun around while snarling ferociously. He punched them in their faces. He jumped into the air and double-kicked them in their chests. They flew backward and crashed into a table. He landed gracefully.
Two Tengas took hold of Tommy's arms. A third started punching him in the stomach. He shoved it away with his foot. He pulled himself out of its companions' grasp. He nailed them in their faces with the backs of his fist. He kicked the first into a tree and threw the second into a bush. He wrapped his arm around the waist of the third and rushed it toward a table. He slammed it on the table. It fell on its side after he let go of it.
Another Tenga wrapped his arm around Tommy's throat. It squawked happily when he began to choke. He swung his leg upward. He struck it in the groin to free himself. He spun around to give it punches to the face. He grabbed its arm and pulled it forward. He threw it into a tree. He rushed at it, slamming it against the tree. It ended up in a heap on the ground.
"I guess you shouldn't have come after me, Tengas," Tommy said with a smirk. "I was too fast for you."
Without warning, a Tenga jumped on Tommy from the side. It alternated between kicking and punching him. He rushed his fist upward, nailing it in the nose. He took hold of its arms and jumped over its head. He landed behind it, throwing it upward. It smashed its head on a tree branch. It landed on its back and spread its legs and arms out eagle style. He spotted three Tengas coming his way and rushed for them.
Billy tossed a Tenga aside and backflipped out of the way of another that lunged at him. A Tenga wrapped its arms around him. It tightened its grip on him. He elbowed it in the stomach. This loosened its grip, but it wasn't enough for him to get free. He gave it another hit to the same spot with his elbow. He managed to free himself. He turned it around. He jabbed his thumbs into its eyes. It squawked frantically while rubbing at them. He kicked it into a bush.
Just then, two Tengas ambushed Billy. They took hold of him, squawks leaving their beaks. A third Tenga proceeded to punch him in the face. He kicked it away from him before pulling himself out of its companions' grasp. He gave their heads hits with the backs of his fists. He got their arms and kicked them in their chests. He twisted them around as he went under them. He smacked them together, seeing them fell into a heap on the ground.
The Tengas' companion tackled Billy to the ground. It beat on him with its fists. He wrapped his arms around its waist. He pushed it toward a tree and slammed its back against it. It fell on its side after he released his hold on it. He found himself grabbed by another Tenga. It punched him in the face multiple times. He backhanded it across the beak. He did a leap over its head. He bounced off a tree, kicking it in the back. It flew forward, slamming its head on a lamppost. It landed on its side. He landed gracefully as his teammates gathered around him.
"Talk about hitting your head," Billy joked.
"Great work, you guys!" Tommy complimented with much pride.
Rocky looked toward Motha along with the others. "It's time to deal with you, moth!"
"You six will be no match for me!" Motha snarled while shaking his head.
"That's what you think!" Aisha yelled.
"We will send you crawling back to Zedd and Rita!" Kat blurted out in much ferocity.
"You are going to wish you never messed with us!" Adam added as he punched his hand into his fist.
Motha roared. "No way! Have a little bit of this!"
Motha shot fire from her mouth at the Rangers. It missed when they scattered in different directions. She headed for Rocky, who threw a punch. She deflected it with her hand. She punched him in the face three times. She backhanded him across the cheek. She grabbed his throat, lowering him and tossing him into a tree. He fell on his stomach, a loud groan leaving his mouth. He breathed in a heavy way.
Billy rushed in from the side. Motha turned while forming a fireball in her hand. She threw it at him, striking him in the shoulder. He stumbled backward, but he remained on his feet. She approached him, catching his fist in her hand when he threw a punch. She flipped him over on his back. She put her foot on his shoulder and pressed down on it. He cried out painfully.
"That's right!" Motha yelled in delight. "Cry it out, Power Geek!"
Tommy grabbed Motha in a headlock and pulled her away from Billy. She threw him off. He stumbled off to the side, but he managed to regain his footing. She went to him and backhanded him across the cheek. She grabbed his throat and started choking him. He kicked her in the stomach, freeing himself. He tried to rush his fist forward, only for her to catch his fist in her hand. She flipped him over on his back and slapped him across the cheek.
Kat flipped through their air and dropkicked Motha in the chest. This forced her back a little bit. She landed and punched her in the face twice. Motha slammed her fist into her forehead. She revved her hand with lightning and tossed it at her. Kat was hit in the chest and thrown backward into a tree. She landed on her stomach with a grunt.
Aisha sneaked up behind Motha, who spun around and kicked her in the side. She punched her when the moth tried to swing her arm at her head. She delivered three uppercuts to his chin. Snarling angrily, Motha gave her two rough headbutts. She swung her arm at her feet, sweeping them out from underneath her. She slapped across her the cheek three times before grabbing her throat to choke her.
Adam rushed in and kicked Motha away from Aisha. She stumbled off to the side without falling. She turned to face him, and he charged at her. She formed an energy ball in her hand. She threw it at him, striking him in the shoulder and stopping him in his tracks. She charged her hand with fire and heaved it at him very hard. He was hit in the chest and sent flying backward into a picnic table. He fell on his side. She laughed evilly as her enemies struggled to stand.
"Look at you, you wretched Rangers. You have fallen and are having a hard time getting up," Motha taunted as she rubbed her hands together. "Don't worry. I will help you with that."
Motha flapped her wings back and forth. A strong wind began to blow. It threw the Rangers backward in which they crashed into the ground. Rocky, Adam, Aisha Tommy, Kat, and Billy groaned in a loud manner. They struggled to stand once more. Motha ceased her flapping.
"Shit. This girl is really tough," Rocky said frustratingly.
"You're not kidding, Rocko," Tommy agreed while getting to his feet along with the others.
"I think we need some help," Kat said, panting heavily.
Aisha nodded in agreement. "Me too."
"Me three," Billy added.
"Me four," Adam commented with a fierce growl.
Rocky hissed. "All right. Let's summon our weapons!"
Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Billy, and Kat summoned their weapons. Tommy drew Saba with a growl. Motha laughed while shaking her head in disbelief.
"You are dreaming if you think those toys can beat me," Motha leered.
"We shall see, moth!" Tommy responded in fierceness.
Motha let out a soft growl. "Here I come, ready or not!"
Motha rushed for the Rangers, who responded in kind. They proceeded to duel with each other.
