Author's Notes: Hi, readers. Here's chapter fourteen of "Just Away." Ranger action will return in the next chapter. I have decided that Master Vile will appear in this fic. I will not tell you when it will happen. You will have to find out for yourselves. Stay tuned for chapter fifteen.

Chapter 14: Observations

Zordon and Alpha watched Motha block Rocky's Power Sword with her arm on the Command Center's Viewing Globe. They saw her grab his throat and throw him into a tree. Kat fired an arrow at her. Motha caught in her hand and tossed it back at her. It hit the Pink Ranger in the chest, causing her to fly backward and crash into the ground on her side. Alpha waved his arms about. He looked very panicky.

"Ay-yi-yi-yi! The Rangers aren't doing well against Motha at all!" Alpha cried in a frantic voice.

"I have no doubt that Motha was eager to fight the Power Rangers in battle," Zordon boomed. "She is more aggressive than I thought."

"At some point, Zedd and Rita will probably have her team up with one of their goons. That means twice the aggression," Alpha muttered.

"Exactly," Zordon agreed.

Alpha winced at Motha's striking Tommy with a bolt of lightning. This threw him into a bush. She turned her attention toward Billy as he swung his Power Lance at her. She deflected with her hand and grabbed his throat. She threw him to the ground. She kicked him in the stomach three time before letting out a loud snarl.

Alpha tilted his head as Motha punched Aisha in the face when she tried to hit her with her Power Daggers. The moth backhanded her across the cheek and swept her feet out from underneath her with a swing of her arm. She caught Adam coming up behind her with his Power Axe raised in the corner of her eye. She spun around and blew fire from her mouth. He was hit and thrown down. Alpha couldn't bear to watch anymore and walked toward Zordon. He stared him straight in the eye.

"I find it so hard to watch the Rangers get pummeled by that moth, Zordon," Alpha said in regret. "I hate feeling so helpless."

"I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, we can't do for the Rangers right now. All we can do is hope they make it through this battle," Zordon boomed.

Alpha faced the Viewing Globe once more. "It doesn't look good at all with the way it is going."

Zordon let out a soft sigh. "Still, we can't lose hope."

Alpha cringed as Motha began flapping her wings while staring the Power Rangers down. The wind began picking up. Tommy, Kat, Billy, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha tried to fight it, but it got stronger by the second. They were blown backward in which they crashed into the ground. They struggled to stand. Alpha went to Zordon again.

"When Jason, Trini, Billy, Zack, and Kimberly took on Tommy the first time, he pummeled them without any trouble," Alpha commented honestly. "After Jason went missing, his friends had to fight Tommy without him. They were lucky to escape him and the Sword of Darkness with the Megazord's Mastodon shield."

"I found it incredible the Dragonzord operated so well after being out of commission for ten thousand years. The Rangers had a difficult time fighting it until you brought me back online," Zordon responded. "The Dinozords returned. They were at full power. They had used the lava to heal from the eclipse battle."

"That was one of the most brutal battles they ever fought against our enemies. Rita created a spell to eclipse the sun and cut off the Megazord's solar power. Billy fixed that by creating an alternate power system that can cut on during eclipses," Alpha explained.

"The Rangers never had to use it. It was destroyed along with the Thunderzords during their first battle with Rito. However, Billy invented an excellent emergency system. It allows the Ninjazords and Shogunzords to split from their Megazord formations and go to their hiding places if they are heavily damaged," Zordon pointed out.

"The Rangers can't use the Ninjazords at the moment because Falconzord is being held captive," Alpha said sadly.

"That may be, but the Shogunzords are serving the team very well. In fact, they are even more powerful than the Ninjazords are," Zordon commented with a soft chuckle.

"I have a feeling Billy will find a way to allow him and his teammates to control the Ninjazords and the Shogunzords at the same time," Alpha said eagerly.

"It is possible he already has," Zordon responded truthfully.

Alpha nodded in agreement. He raised his arms above his head before tilting it quite a bit. He lowered them after five seconds. He took three steps backward with a soft sigh.

"It is interesting that Rita and Zedd will attack places at random from time to time, Zordon," Alpha said, giving a shrug. "It often surprises us during very quiet times."

"I do recall Rita's minions attacking places at random occasionally during the first invasion of Earth," Zordon admitted. "It was usually to alleviate boredom. Villains have a habit of getting bored sitting around their base."

"That's true, but that doesn't mean we should never stay on guard," Alpha whispered seriously.

"Of course not," Zordon agreed.

Alpha shuddered. "It is quite probable that Zedd and Rita know about Kimberly's true origins and her pregnancy. They are likely making plans for her and the baby."

"When Master Vile comes—" Zordon started.

"Zordon, you just said when Master Vile comes," Alpha said in shock. "What do you mean by that?"

"I am getting a feeling that Master Vile is on his way here. He wants to come to Earth in hopes of finding Kara," Zordon explained.

"If that is true, then Rita will blab to him about Kimberly being pregnant and his long-lost daughter!" Alpha blurted out frantically.

"That will happen, Alpha. I have no doubt," Zordon agreed. "At the same time, we can't let that stay on our minds. We have to make preparations for his arrival."

"That means telling the others about your feeling," Alpha pointed out.

Zordon nodded in agreement. "Right."

Alpha faced the Viewing Globe again. He made his way to it and lowered his arms. He and Zordon watched Motha punch Tommy in the stomach and backhand Aisha across the face. They swallowed hard when she blocked punches from Billy and Kat with her arms before sweeping their feet out from underneath them.

Alpha tilted his head as Motha formed an energy ball in her hand to toss it at Rocky, who was hit and thrown to the ground. She spun around and punched Adam in the stomach when he tried to sneak up behind her. She threw her arms out and shot lightning from her fingertips. She hit all six Rangers as they made it to their feet. They were hit and ended up on the ground again.

"The Power Rangers may be skilled fighters, but they will have a difficult time fighting Master Vile's monsters," Alpha mumbled dejectedly. "They are even worse than Zedd and Rita's monsters."

"Very true, Alpha," Zordon agreed. "What sets his monsters apart from theirs is his tendency to make them highly aggressive. He views aggression as a perfect weapon against the forces of good."

"He could train Goldar, Scorpina, and Rito to use aggression in battle to fight the Rangers!" Alpha cried. "Ay-yi-yi!"

"Master Vile could choose a place where we least expect to launch an attack. Before Kimberly's Power Coin was taken, Zedd and Rita launched an attack on Angel Grove High School just as the students were letting out for the day," Zordon answered, sighing heavily.

"Goldar and Scorpina did a number on the school! There was broken glass and knocked-over trashcans everywhere!" Alpha shouted.

"After Zedd and Rita made them grow to giant size, the Rangers battled them with the Ninja Megazord. They had a hard time until Ninjor showed up to help them. They managed to defeat them," Zordon added.

"Most of the students and teachers got out of the school safely while the battle was going on. Some did take shelter inside," Alpha pointed out and clasped his hands together.

"They emerged from their hiding places once the battle was over," Zordon said matter-of-factly.

"Yes," Alpha said, nodding. "We are grateful no one got hurt there."

"Mm-hmm," Zordon said, blinking twice. "That is always a concern of ours. There are times when civilian injury can't be avoided."

Alpha looked more closely at Motha's grabbing Billy and Kat's throats and lowering them to throw them upward. They landed on their sides. She formed a lightning bolt in her hand and tossed it at Tommy, who was hit and thrown backward into a picnic table. She shot fireballs from her mouth at Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, hitting them and sending them flying through the air. The trio hit the ground on their backs.

"Hang in there, Rangers. You can come out on top. Zordon and I have faith in you," Alpha whispered in a hopeful voice. He and Zordon continued to watch the unfolding battle.

Rita looked through her Repulsascope on the Lunar Palace's balcony. Goldar and Scorpina chatted to each other while standing in the middle of the throne room. Zedd sat in his chair and tapped his fingers on the arm. His staff leaned against the side. Squatt, Baboo, and Rito were immersed in a game of jacks on the stairs. Rito picked up the ball and bounced it. He grabbed six of the twelve jacks before catching it. He laughed excitedly and pumped his fist. Squatt and Baboo cheered in great joy.

"That was great, Rito," Baboo said.

"Thanks, Baboo," Rito said, sitting tall and proud. "I am a great jacks player."

"You are. You should not brag about it, though. You can get in trouble for that," Squatt warned.

"Yeah, yeah. I've heard that before," Rito said while waving off the duo. "I am not dumb like you two are."

"We are dumb, but we are definitely not stupid," Baboo commented annoyingly. "That fits you to a T."

"Oh, shut up," Rito said and turned to Squatt. "Now, it is your turn, Squatt. Do your worst."

"I am so ready for it," Squat responded with much excitement. He clapped three times. "Yippee!"

Rito handed Squatt the ball before laying the jacks on the floor with a growl. Squatt narrowed his eyes at the ball and bounced it. He managed to get eight jacks. He caught before it hit the floor. He opened his hand and showed them to the skeleton.

"What do you think of that turn?" Squatt said, a laugh leaving his mouth.

"It's great. Remember that it does not mean you will grab eight jacks on your next turn," Rito commented.

"I don't give a damn if he does not catch that many. It's only a game," Baboo answered with a soft chuckle.

Squatt gave the ball to his best friend before laying the jacks down. "It's a fun one at that. I do not give a shit about winning. I just play the game for the fun of it."

"I don't see anything wrong with that," Rito said and cleared his throat.

Baboo motioned toward Goldar and Scorpina. "Goldar thinks something is wrong with you if you don't think winning is important."

"I heard that, Baboo," Goldar hissed and gazed toward the trio along with Scorpina.

"I did too," Scorpina added and became very serious. "I will sting you if you make another wisecrack about Goldar."

Rito rose to his feet. "What you need to do is change your hair. Your look is way outdated."

"Shut up," Scorpina snapped fiercely.

"No, you shut up," Rito retorted while pointing his finger at her.

Goldar waved his hands in the air. "All right. That's enough."

Rito placed his thumb on his nose and wiggled his fingers. Scorpina blew a raspberry at him. He placed his hand on his hip. He went up the stairs as Baboo bounced the ball and grabbed nine jacks. He joined Rita's side. She pulled away to adjust the Repulsascope.

"What have you been looking at, sis?" Rito wondered.

"I just saw a grizzly bear kill a moose," Rita answered.

Rito emitted a soft chuckle. "Cool."

"Maybe I should send you down there to fight the bear," Rita joked and smirked widely.

"No, thank you," Rito responded while shaking.

"What is the matter, Rito? Are you chicken?" Rita asked and began clucking as if she were a chicken.

"I say you are the chicken," Rito commented.

Rita laughed sarcastically. "Sure, I am."

Rita turned back to the Repulsascope and moved it west. She looked into it to see two American robins flying around and a gray squirrel climbing up a tree in a forest. She made a disgusted face.

"I hate seeing peaceful scenes on Earth!" Rita yelled and looked about ready to vomit. "It is so nauseating!"

"Tell me about it," Rito agreed. "How about you check to see how those pesky Power Rangers are doing with Motha?"

"Okay," Rita agreed.

"Great," Rito responded in great delight. "Just don't let the Repulsascope hit you in the head and cause birds to fly around it."

Rita waved her brother off and moved the Repulsascope a little more west. She peered into it with a sigh. She saw Motha toss Rocky aside and kick Billy in the stomach. Motha formed fireballs in her hands and tossed them at him. Billy was hit in the stomach and chest. He was thrown backward into a picnic table. He emitted a loud groan.

Rita smiled as Motha spun around when she caught Rocky sneaking up behind her with his Power Sword held high in the corner of her eye. Motha punched him in the head, knocking him on his back. She slapped him across the face before backhanding him in the same spot. She opened and closed her mandibles. Rita laughed in delight.

"Motha just handed Billy and Rocky's asses to them!" Rita blurted out and clapped twice.

"That's great, sis!" Rito responded happily.

"That is great news!" Zedd said, looking up and rising to his feet. He got his staff and went to the stairs. He headed up them and joined his wife's side. "What else do you see?"

"Hey, wait for us!" Goldar yelled as he rushed to his master's side along with Scorpina.

"We want to know too!" Squatt added as he and Baboo stood up to come to their mistress's side. "Please!"

Rita snorted as Motha delivered three hard punches to Adam and Kat's stomachs. Motha grabbed their throats and lowered them. The Black and Pink Rangers flew through the air in which they landed on their backs. They groaned in a loud way. They rolled over and started to stand. Motha charged her hands with lighting and threw it at them. They were hit and knocked to the ground. Rita pumped her fist.

"Motha just took care of Adam and Kat!" Rita shouted in great joy.

"Wonderful!" Squatt babbled.

"I have to admit Kat was doing well in her first fight as a Power Ranger," Rita said, pulling back.

Zedd shook his head. "Who in the hell cares? At least Motha is doing her job of pummeling her and her teammates before she takes her captive."

"I wish Motha would just take her captive and bring her here now!" Scorpina yelled impatiently. "I want to make Kat pay for her betrayal!"

"Patience, Scorpina. We have to let Motha toy with her prey first," Rita said calmly.

Zedd nodded in agreement. "That is right, my poisonous flower."

Rita looked into the Repulsascope once more. She could see Motha forming lightning balls in her hands and tossing them at Tommy and Aisha. The White and Yellow Rangers were thrown to the ground. They groaned very loudly. Motha walked up to them. She gave each of them a kick to their stomachs. She grabbed their throats and forced them to their feet. She tossed them into the air. They landed on their sides.

Rita took a deep breath when Motha charged her hands with lightning. Motha sent it toward Tommy, Billy, Kat, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. The Rangers cried out in pain as it surged through their bodies. She ceased her assault and watched them stand up. She waved her wings back and forth multiple times. The wind picked up. The Rangers flew backward, crashing into the ground very hard. Rita cackled in a malicious way.

"Good going, Motha!" Rita yelled. "It won't be long before she brings Kat to us!"

"I cannot wait to see her imprisoned in the palace!" Goldar said excitedly.

"I would love to make her dance," Scorpina said eagerly.

"Me too," Squatt commented with delight.

"Me three!" Baboo added while holding up his hand.

"You will all get your chance to play with her," Zedd said and growled softly. "For now, let's have a little fun of our own."

The others voiced their agreement. They and Zedd went down the stairs and proceeded to dance in a conga line.
