(warning, detailed gore and violence in this chapter, you have been warned)
Bell is 7 and in his handmade play house with 3 cups of tea filled, he was waiting as his aunt and her friend walk in as they are going to say goodbye to Bell with concerned look's in their eyes needing to neal down due to the place being small as Bell offer's them both tea before they go, to wish them good luck.
Alfia:" I don't know if I should or not"
Zald:" why not, we're going to go away for a long time, so we might as well, what's the harm in one drink before we leave"
Bell:" yes... a fell well drink to send you both off"
all 3 then drink their tea as Bell then set's his cup down after drinking it and then tell's them both something the two of them feared him finding out.
Bell:" I know what you're going to do, your plan to kill many innocent people to be an obstacle in order to make someone stronger, how you both are dying now and won't be here long, how you plan on dying"
Zald:"... well shit"
Alfia:"... Bell... if we had better options than this, we'd take it, but... we don't have much time"
Zald:" we won't be around for more than a month, we can't help any more than this, we need to make at least one last act to help make Oranio stronger now that our Familia's no longer stand"
Alfia:" if you wish to hate me, say I am a disgrace to our family... I won't blame you"
Bell:"... will you kill me now that I know"
Zald:" no, if anything, we wanted to avoid you if at all possible because of this... I'm sorry, we have no choice"
then something happened, Zald and Alfia coughed up blood as the two of them felt weaker, and looked at Bell as he walked to the window.
Bell:" and I had no choice either if you plan to die killing innocent people... then I'd have to make sure you couldn't, normally, the poison shouldn't affect you both, however, in your weakened state, it should amplify the poison already in you and make you die today within minutes, the medicine training paid off, after all, making sure for poison's also make's you know how to make them all to well"
Alfia:" I see, this was never about saying farewell to us, it was about killing us before we left to join Evilus"
Bell:" tell me this, who betrayed whom first, me for poisoning you, or did you both betray me and all of Oranio first by willingly moving to kill many innocent lives"
Zald:" come on kid, we both know we betrayed you and every one the moment we considered joining Evilus"
Bell:" again, will you kill me for poisoning you and making sure you die now rather than later, I used your absolute trust in me to ensure I poisoned you without suspicion after all"
Alfia:" no, even now, we understand why you did this, and I am even proud of you for this"
Bell:" I got the names and pictures of the gods and most of the members, it won't work out the way they hope, I already sent the messenger 3 days ago, so all that was left to do... was take care of the biggest problems here... why... why would you do this, was there even a point to your actions if you succeeded"
Zald:" to be honest, I had no idea if it would have even helped, however, I hoped at least one adventurer who survived would have made a difference in-... (COUGHING BLOOD VIOLENTLY)"
Zald died as the poison finally took him, and Alfia was following closely after as she laid down to giggle a little to herself as she used her last word to tell Bell an important message in her dying breath.
Alfia:" Bell... don't change, you were willing to kill your family to do the right thing, never change from that Bell, don't end up as I had.. be the person the world needs now more than ever... don't be a disappointment like I- (COUGHING BLOOD VIOLENTLY)"
as the 2 died, Bell left the little play hut by crawling out the window and then setting it ablaze with a match he had in his pocket, he headed to his grandfather's side as he saw the whole thing, not saying a word as Bell just went to his side and rested his head on his grandfather's shoulder.
Bell:"... did I do the right thing"
Zeus (and no, Bell isn't aware of this fact):" based on what I saw, yes, they were going to do this no matter what... we had to stop them, they wouldn't have trusted me, but you, they would have never even raised an eyebrow let alone a hand to you... you were the only one who could do this"
the fire engulfed the entire playpen as it was made with hay and wood, especially since the walls were made with linen soaked in tar and long strings of hemp on the outside, the excuse was to keep it warm in the playpen when really, it was to make the fire burn that much more as this playpen was built in a day specifically for this reason and that only made it worse with the fact Zald and Alfia helped in making it, which would be where they died.
Bell woke in a cold sweat, remembering that event in his past made him more than remember why he wanted to be an adventure, he wanted to be strong enough to make sure something like what his aunt, her friend, as well as the likes of Evilus, would never happen again, he was looking to get stronger for that, as such, he got up as it seemed like the crack of dawn, he got his gear ready as he then whispered that he was off to his still sleeping goddess as and headed to the dungeon for the first time, he knew he would be in for a ride as he would head down till he reached the dungeon, he felt it's power, the dungeon gave a radiance that felt as if it was death itself, and it even became slightly harder to breath as well, but Bell headed in anyway, descending the spiral staircase, the lower he got, the heavier his breathing seemed, he looked around and say it wans't just him, level 2's and 2's were also huffing somewhat as it seemed the dungeon passively effects you in many ways physically and mentally.
the dungeon is undeniable and unarguably a place filled with death and mayhem incarnate, and is as close to eternal suffering, pain, agony, and misery as one can come across in the mortal world that even the gods themselves fear, it has a special magic barrier within its interior that messes and alters with the minds of all who enter that causes psychosis, so while inside, a person without a Dunamis to protect them will suffer from
Violent and vivid hallucinations (typically of one's worst fears, regrets, or nightmares)
violent tendencies and outbursts even if you are alone
severe drowsiness and insomnia to ensure the mind is not at full capacity
Severe amnesia (fall's between forgetting between 5 to 10 minutes of what happened at a time between a 10 or half-hour period)
imprinting of false memories (normally, they are set up to invoke and implant either regrets that aren't there or alter their perception of location and time to confuse their sense of direction)
loss of muscle memory and implanting of muscle twitching (in the most severe cases forget how to breathe if they spend too much time in the dungeon)
it increases your base gravity by making you weigh 10 to 25 times your own body weight upon entering (this is to force you to use more energy and a majority of your strength just to walk let alone fight)
also messes with your semicircular canals giving you vertigo
make you lose your sense of depth perception to walk either too close or be too far from something
cause temporary if not permeate deafness
dulling of your other senses such as sight and smell (temporarily or permanently)
while within the dungeon the very concept of time and space are also altered constantly with no end in sight, so while inside the dungeon, you can stay inside for years at a time in the dungeon while seemingly, on the outside, it has only been a second or 2 in the outside world
the floor of the dungeon will slowly melt off skin and even melt bone as if it was paper being dipped into water
the draining of life force, Mana, and soul from mortals as well, making them weaker and easier to kill (for a normal person, their soul, Mana, and life force would be removed within 2 minutes flat)
thanks to the effects of the Dunamis, many of these effects are either nullified or completely removed, but as far as Bell knows, he has a long way to go before he will get used to some of the effects the dungeon brought onto people who dare to enter, he saw that many other adventures were not affected, he assumed being stronger, they were just immune to the effects, and as he entered, he saw the dungeon's entrance was a black glob of a black tar-like substance that didn't stick to him, upon entering, he found himself in a room where he was nearly able to see anything, seeing his vision was blurry entering, he was also swaying as he felt his balance somewhat off, he felt sick, tired, and sleepy but unable to sleep, he also felt angry, angry that all of his family was gone, he then regained his composure and moved ahead.
for 4 minutes, Bell walked down the dungeon hallway when he saw a small group of goblins that seem to have not noticed him, he then got his bow out and shot at it, but he missed as he only hit the shoulder of the monster instead of its head like he intended, his blurry vision made long range combat ill advised for now and then got out his hunting sword, got in a stance, and got ready for battle, the first goblin charged at Bell as he stepped back to have the monster's attack miss and then stabbed it in the throat, severing the artery in its neck and the monster coughed up blood, the goblin then swung it's club again as Bell noticed and dodged that attack only to be attacked by another goblin as this goblin manages to land a hit on Bell with it's claws, cutting into Bell's left arm getting 2 inched deep into his arm as Bell cried in pain, he then kicked the goblin and with the goblin he wounded in the neck, grabbed it in a rush and chucked him into the other goblins to force them to fall down, while this was happening, Bell's medical instincts kicked in as he uncontiously used his good arm to get bandages and a herb medicine and wrap his injured arm in less than a second in a seemingly single motion from an outside view, then without leaving any breathing room for the goblins, bell with brute strength stomped their heads in till they were 100 percent dead, blood, brain matter, and parts of skull laced the dungeon floor around as it flew everywhere as bell was stomping there head's in as they all turned into a black myst and left only magic stones behind, the last goblin alive that managed to hit Bell, as it came t attack bell, with his crafted sword, he cut the goblin in half as it's upper body flew off and it's lower body fell down, the upper body's organ's and gut's slightly pulled out as it bleed and spinal fluid leaked from the severed spinal colom, the goblin was alive as it even in it's state charged Bell with reckless abandonment and like with the other goblin's, Bell gave a sqift kick to the Goblin's face to stomp it's head in as well.
By the end of this battle, bell's boots would be covered in goblin blood, brain matter, and pieces of skull, bell picked up his earnings, and he even found a dropped item, a Goblin Fang, a dropped item sell's for a lot more so Bell knew he'd make a good amount of money from this, but as the battle ended, he felt his body become unbelievably heavy, he was exhausted and gsaping for air, he was angry and though he saw his aunt again looking at him, he then decided to leave, he picked up the magic stones and the fang and then left, pon getting outside the dungeon, he was better, gasping for air as many who say Bell didn't even act surprised of his state, he also wasn't the only one, as bell looked around, he saw many adventurer's gasping and panting as well, he knew this was normal, so now he had to be careful since if he stayed in the dungeon as he was, he would have died, so he decided to call it a day and headed to the guild.
