Spell 13: The Magician's Grandmother
"I see...So will you help out? Gremlin?" Medusa asked.
Sora chuckles as he walks to Medusa and changes into his Phantom form.
His Phantom form has green armor on his arms, chest, and head with a black face that was covered in green scales. He also has silver shoulder guards that have a pointed downward tip, and silver horns on the sides of his head. He also had black legs with matching boots.
This is the true form of Sora, the Phantom known as Gremlin.
"I think that I would be more useful than Yuugo." Gremlin told her, and that really got Medusa's attention.
"Were you the one responsible for Phoenix…" Medusa said in suspicion.
"I didn't do anything!" Gremlin assured her as he played innocent.
Medusa smirks but then frowns as she changes into her Phantom Form as she fires an attack from her eyes which Gremlin dodges in time.
"That was close!" Gremlin said as he checked his body for any damages.
"I don't trust you." Medusa told him as she turned her back at Gremlin.
"That puts me in a pickle." Gremlin said as he twiddle his fingers before he moved closer to Medusa. "What do I have to do to make you trust me?"
"Let me see you do the work. We'll talk after that." Medusa said as she left, leaving Gremlin to ponder.
"The work, eh?" Gremlin said as he wondered what to do.
(Days later)
Rinne, now fully healed of her wounds, was seen walking on the streets of Tengu City carrying her lacrosse equipment on her shoulder as she was going to meet up with her lacrosse club for some practice.
As Rinne turns to the corner, she accidentally bumps into someone as they drop their bag.
Rinne looked and saw the person she bumped into was an elderly woman, in her mid-to-late-60s with short white hair with some black hair on the sides and was wearing glasses over her eyes. She was also wearing traditional Japanese clothes.
"Oh I'm so sorry, ma'am." Rinne told her.
"No, it's alright. I should've paid more attention." She told her as she was about to pick up her bag but Rinne picked it up for her and handed it to the elderly woman.
"Here." Rinne said.
"Why thank you, young lady." She said in gratitude as she grabbed her bag.
"You're welcome." Rinne said before she noticed the map in her other hand. "Are you lost or something?"
"Well...Yes, I am. I just arrived here, so I'm having trouble finding the police station." She answered.
"Oh I see." Rinne said before she looked at the time on her watch. "If you want, I can show you the way to the closest one."
"No, I can't. I don't want to take your time." She told her.
"It's alright. I'll be more than happy to help. But why were you going to the police station?" Rinne asked.
"Well...I'm here looking for my grandson." She said before she went into her pocket and brought out a picture and handed it to Rinne. "Perhaps you've seen him. This is a photo of him."
"Sure." Rinne said as she accepted the picture and looked at it. She looks at and recognizes the person in the photo. "Wait? This is…"
(Later)
Shido along with Mikie and the Spirits decided to have a snake in the donut shop. When they arrived the Manager soon noticed them as she waved at them.
"Oh, Shido-kun, welcome. Today's speciality is…" The Manager said as she showed them two plates of her latest donuts.
"Plain sugar! The girls will eat your new recipes." Shido told her and his friends nodded in agreement.
They then heard a familiar voice screaming behind them. They turned around and saw it was Nitou seated on a nearby table, wearing a tie around his neck and his hairstyle was changed into a gentleman hairstyle with a rose in his hand and was holding a hand mirror in his other hand to hide his face from Shido and the others.
"Nitou?" Shido said as Nitou waved at them. "What are you doing?!"
The Manager moved beside Shido to tell him.
"He's waiting for...Rinne-chan~" The Manager told them.
"Eh?!" Shido and his friends gasped in shock.
"Shock: Did you hear about this Shido?" Yuzuru asked and Shido shook his head.
"It's the first time I'm hearing about it too." Shido told her.
Nitou laughed in joy as he stood up and spun around.
"She suddenly called me up! You get it, so I'm saying no more!" Nitou said as he stopped and pointed his rose at them. "I can't believe Rinne-chan likes me! I know you two were childhood friends, but don't be jealous. It's hard to be popular with the ladies!"
Nitou took a moment to check and fix his hair.
"Ni-tou-san!"
Nitou smiles to hear that voice as she turns around and sees Rinne standing behind him as she smiles and waves at him, and Nitou smiles back at her.
But then Rinne steps aside to show the eldelry woman she met was with her as she sternly stares at Nitou.
"Kousuke!" The eldelry woman said to the young man in front of her.
Nitou was both shocked and horrified to see the elderly woman as he slowly shouted…
"B-Baa-chan!"
"Baa-chan!" Shido, Mikie, Yoshinon, Ryu, and the Manager repeated as they were surprised to hear that while the Spirits blinked in confusion.
(Trust in you by sweet ARMS)
(Instrumental) (As the song begins the screen lowered to a metallic tree with seed-shape devices attached to it, and the tree itself was attached to a shipe.)
(Next we see Tohka, Yoshino, and Kotori wearing their Astral Dresses gently falling and landing on the ground as they turn to the screen as it zooms to their faces.)
(Next we see three more Spirits falling and landing to the ground, as it zooms to their hair as we couldn't see their faces.)
(Next to appear is Origami and Mana wearing their Realizer suits, as it zooms to Origami's mouth and to Mana's face.)
(Next to appear is Kurumi wielding both of her guns as she is surrounded by her clones, as it zooms to her face as she is smiling and her bangs cover her eyes.)
(Next to appear is the Fraxinus crew as the screen zooms to Kyouhei and Reine's faces.)
(Next to appear is Isaac Westcott and Ellen Mathers, before it zooms to their faces but their eyes are covered as Isaac had a smile on his face.)
(Last but not least, Shido appeared as he wore his Flame Style Ring and scanned it on his Driver and transformed into Kamen Rider Wizard, as the screens zoomed out as he transformed and showed his Ring, before it zoomed out further as his friends were standing beside him.)
(Fate subete wa hitsuzen? Hikare au you na deai (Deai). Tsunagaru sutourii) (In the city, Tohka was jumping off of her as her name appeared on screen before she runs forward and Yoshino and Yoshinon notice her running past as Yoshino was kneeling on the ground talking to her puppet friend as their names appeared one at a time and Yoshino soon stands up and followed Tohka.)
(Ne kono mune no kodou. Rikai dekinai nara (Up to you). Kono mama ochiteyuku dake) (Kotori was watching as she was leaning on a tree while enjoying her candy as her name appeared before she pulled her candy out and took her leave. Across the street, Origami was walking forward as her name appeared on screen. Then we see Koyomi, Rinne, and Mikie in Omokagedo talking to each other as their names appear, next we see Wajima bringing them some tea before he trips and falls as his name appears on screen.)
(Saa erande suriruna deto hajimemashou) (Kurumi was seen standing on top of a building as her name appears as she was looking up at an airship as its shadow appeared on the building. Shido was seen on street level as he was adjusting his Flame Ring before his name appeared on screen, and he soon noticed something flying in the air and saw it was the AST as they headed out to deal with a Spirit.)
(Hanasu tabi fureru tabi warau tabi mezamete. Ku kono omoi kesshite yuzurenai kara) (Next we see a flashback where Shido and Tohka were walking together as she was enjoying her kinako bread. Wizard was then seen riding his Machine Winger forward as the zooms out from his face, before it changes to Shido and his friends having breakfast together, and then they are setting up for a party with their classmates, and then to them looking at Tengu City on their favorite park. Soon following Wizard was Kotori and Yoshino with their Angels out as Kotori was flying above the Rider and Yoshino was riding on Zadkiel beside him. Then it changes to Shido and Tohka riding in a tram together as Tohka leans her head on his shoulder.)
(Hajimete konnani sunao ni soba ni itai to omou kimi ni deaetakara) (Then it changes to Wiseman along with his Phantom Generals, Medusa and Phoenix. Then as Wizard, Kotori, and Yoshino were moving forward, the Yamai twins flew above them forcing them to split up, next we see Miku riding on a road in the shape of a piano keyboard, next we see Mana flying above them. Next we see the silhouette of a new Kamen Rider and behind him was a giant lion with wings, and changes to the mysterious Phantom Sora as he was chuckling. Then Origami was seen clashing swords against Ellen.)
(Then finally we see the backside of an unknown Spirit that resembles Tohka as Wizard armed with Sandalphon stood in front of her.)
(Then we see Tohka falling towards Wizard as they grab each other's hand in a finger lock.)
(Shinjitaino Date A Live) (Tohka was smiling at Wizard and he was smiling under his helmet as he gently helped her land on her feet, and then the title appeared on screen as everything turned white behind it.)
Nitou's grandmother, Nitou Toshie, was seated with her grandson on a table as Shido and his friends were watching them on two other tables as they ate and enjoyed their donuts, while the Manager and Ryu were watching them as they stood close to their food truck.
"You didn't return from the ruins...and now I find you in Tengu City. Just what happened? Explain!" Toshie demanded as Nitou flinched.
"Oh, well…" Nitou mutters as he tries to figure out the right words to explain to his grandmother. "I was busy."
"His grandmother seems strict…" Shido said as he added some sugar to his coffee.
"Yeah…" Mikie nodded in agreement.
"Hey, Shido, I've been wondering, but does 'baa-chan' mean?" Tohka asked, and Shido turned to her.
"Wait, you don't know what that means?" Shido asked and Tohka shook her head. "Well, the correct term for it is grandmother. That's what you call the parent of one's parents."
"Oh I think I get it now. So she's the parent of Nitou's parents." Tohka said as he somewhat understood that.
"Right, which would make them grandson and grandmother." Shido said.
"Hmph...even I know that." Kaguya said with a smug tone as she took a bite of her donut.
"Doubtful: You were wondering what it means as well." Yuzuru stated and Kaguya almost choked on her food.
"T-That's not true!" Kaguya said.
"Also despite his appearance, apparently Nitou-kun is a rich boy." Rinne told them.
"Really?" Yoshino said a little surprised to hear that.
"Well, that's a shock, given he lives in a tent! Hahahaha!" Yoshinon laughs.
"What about college?!" Toshie shouted which caused Shido and the others to flinch as Nitou lowered his head. "If you're just playing around, then return to Fukui this instant!"
"Ummm…" Mikie calls out getting Toshie's attention as the former AST soldier was standing beside her grandson. "Nitou-san actually-"
"Ah, Mikie-chan!" Nitou shouted as he stood up and covered Mikie's mouth. "What's the matter?! Do you need more doughnuts?!"
Nitou then drags Mikie away from his grandmother with his arm on Mikie's shoulders as he whispers to her.
"Please. Don't tell Baa-chan that I'm a mage."
"Eh?" Mikie said a little loudly and Nitou shushed her, and Shido soon stood up and walked to them. "Why?!"
"He can't tell her that he'll die unless he devours Phantoms." Shido told her.
"If she found out. I'm sure...she'd be so mad!" Nitou said with a scared face, and Shido and Mikie nearly facefaulted to hear that. "She's super harsh. Please keep it a secret."
"Fine." Mikie said as the three of them turned to her and soon turned away from her. "What'll you do?"
"It's obvious." Nitou said, sounding calm and collective as he soon smiled. "Run for it!"
Nitou soon runs away as his grandmother and the others stand up.
"Kousuke!" Toshie calls out but is ignored.
"Hey, Nitou-kun!" Rinne said as she stood up and followed him.
"Mikie, take care of his grandmother. You girls help her." Shido told Mikie and the Spirits as he followed Nitou as well.
Toshie was left saddened by this as she sat back down which Mikie noticed as she turned to her.
(Meanwhile)
A bald man wearing glasses along with a black sleeveless shirt and black leather pants was inside of a building.
The bald man was seated on a chair inside of an abandoned building lifting his usual weights, and that weight was three big and heavy sandbags on a wooden pallet while using a metal chain to lift it up and down several times.
That is when a familiar woman walks into the building.
"You're working hard, Weretiger." Said Medusa as she walked to him.
Weretiger smiles as he stops lifting and stands up to greet the Phantom General.
"Medusa-sama." Weretiger said as he kneels before her with his arms crossed, he then swung his arms and transformed into his Phantom Form.
Like his name states, his form was based like a tiger with a white body and black stripes around it. He had a black visor with orange colored hands and feet. He had dark color armor pieces on his shoulders, arms, and legs. He also had a large opened mouth with sharp teeth around his head.
"I found a Gate this morning. Will you help me?" Medusa asked.
Wanting to cheer up Toshie, Mikie and the Spirits decided to take the elderly woman sightseeing around Tengu City. They brought her to Tengu Square.
Toshie was looking up at the large building in front of her while Mikie aimed a digital camera behind her.
"I'm taking the picture!" Mikie calls out and Toshie turns to her. "Alright, cheese."
Mikie soon takes the picture as Toshie was smiling. Mikie smiles at the photo as she lowered the camera and looked at the elderly woman.
"I'm glad you're feeling better." Mikie said.
"Eh?" Toshie said in confusion as Mikie walked to her.
"Since you're here from Fukai, you might as well go sightseeing around Tengu." Mikie said.
"Yeah, I agree." Kaguya said. "Now let's see where we should go next…"
"Oh how about the arcade!" Tohka suggested as she raised her hand and Yuzuru sighs to hear that.
"Statement: Tohka, we can't bring an elderly person like her to a place like that." Yuzuru said as Tohka blinked in confusion.
"Why not?" Tohka asked.
"I'm sorry for troubling you girls. That grandson of mine is totally useless." Toshie told them.
"No…" Mikie mutters before Toshie remembers something.
"I've got it. Please take these…A charm." Toshie said as she went into her and brought out an origami paper frog for each of them and gave it to the girls. "It's a frog, so it helps you return safely. It's very effective."
"Thank you very much." Mikie said as she accepted the paper frog while the Spirits looked at theirs as Tohka was amazed by them.
"Oh wow! These are so cool! Where did you get these?" Tohka asked.
"I made those myself. They're known as origami." Toshie answered and Tohka flinched to hear that.
"What?! So Origami gave these to you?!" Tohka asked as Toshie blinked in confusion.
"Explanation: She wasn't talking about Master Origami, Tohka. She meant the paper." Yuzuru explains as she shows her paper frog. "This style of folding is called origami."
"Oh I see now." Tohka said with a smile as she looked at her paper frog. "Well I definitely say that these are a lot cuter than the other Origami. Especially since they can't talk back."
That is when a man appeared and they soon noticed him, and it was Weretiger.
"So you're the Gate?" Weretiger said as his eyes were set on Toshie.
"Eh?" Toshie said in confusion.
Weretiger swung his arms as he transformed into his Phantom Form.
"Fall into despair and give birth to a Phantom!" Weretiger demanded as Toshie was frightened to see him as Mikie and the Spirits moved in front of her to protect her.
"Quickly! Run! This way!" Mikie said as she grabbed onto Toshie's hand as they and the Spirits ran away.
They had to run slowly due to Toshie's old age.
"It's okay." Mikie told her as they hid behind a stone wall. "It's okay. We'll keep you safe."
Mikie soon brings out her phone to call Shido.
Nitou was seen hanging on a tree refusing to let go as Rinne tries to pull him off of it and drag him back to his grandmother. The two were arguing as Shido's phone was ringing as he brought it out and answered it.
"Hello? Eh?! His grandmother is a Gate?!" Shido gasped in shock, and Nitou heard it as he let go of the tree and Rinne fell to the ground as he was shocked to hear that as well.
"Nani?!" Nitou gasped.
(Back with the girls)
The girls managed to get away from Weretiger as he lost sight of them and were now in different squares of the city. Yoshinon brought her head out from their heading spot and saw that the coast was clear as Weretiger was nowhere to be seen.
"Alright, we're clear." Yoshinon told her friends as they walked forward as Mikie was armed with a stick to attack the Phantom with it in case he showed up again.
Weretiger soon found them as he ran in front of them.
"We're done playing hide-and-seek." Weretiger told them.
Mikie roars as she charges at the Phantom and attacks him with the stick in her hands, but it easily breaks in half the moment it hits his shoulder. Mikie looks at the broken stick in her hand before Weretiger grabs hold of her and picks her up on his shoulders and throws the former AST soldier across the ground.
"Mikie!" Tohka shouted in worry as Weretiger set his eyes on Toshie as Tohka and Kaguya moved in front of her to protect her while Yuzuru and Yoshino ran to Mikie to check on her.
"There's nowhere to run." Weretiger told the elderly Gate as she and the Spirits in front of her backed away, and just as Weretiger was ready to attack he was fired upon on his back.
Everyone looked and saw it was Shido armed with his gun as he arrived along with Rinne and Nitou as they followed him.
"Baa-chan!" Nitou shouted to his grandmother.
"Kousuke!" Toshie shouted back at him.
Both Shido and Nitou's belt change to their Driver Forms as Shido flips the switches on his own Driver.
[SHABADOOBIE TOUCH TO HENSHIN]
Both Shido and Nitou put on their respective Rings ready to transform, but Nitou stops himself as he can't transform in front of his grandmother as she was a little confused on what he was doing.
"Henshin." Shido said as he flipped the visor on his Ring and scanned it on his Driver.
[FLAME, PLEASE: HI HI HI HI HI]
Shido transforms into Wizard while Nitou hides his Driver. Wizard's gun changes to its sword mode and soon charges at the Phantom and Weretiger does the same.
Wizard parries a punch from Weretiger with his sword, and Weretiger punches at Wizard a few times as he dodges them and blocks his last punch with his sword and pushes the Phantom's arm down as they stare at each other.
"You should respect the elderly!" Wizard tells Weretiger as the Phantom manages to push him back as Wizard runs to the side and Weretiger follows him.
Wizard jumps over a nearby table and kicks on it to throw it at the Phantom as Weretiger stops running and catches the table with his hands as he soon throws it at Wizard as he ducks under it.
Nitou watched as Wizard's battle was going well so far.
Weretiger parries a slash from Wizard's sword as the latter flips to the side and lands a stab on the Phantom forcing him to stumble back. Wizard stands up and slashes at Weretiger two times but the Phantom manages to block his attacks with his forearms before Wizard does a flip and lands two slashes on Weretiger.
Rinne runs to Toshie to check on the elderly woman.
"Are you okay?!" Rinne asked and Toshie nodded as Mikie had stood back up as she, Yuzuru and Yoshino had moved to their side.
"Just who is he?" Toshie asked as she continued to watch Wizard's battle against Weretiger.
"Shido-san...is a mage." Mikie told her.
As Wizard dodges another punch from Weretiger the Phantom broke a statue that was behind the magic-theme Rider.
Weretiger then picks up the base of the broken statue and throws it at Wizard and he breaks it by slashing it with his sword.
Weretiger charges at Wizard and attacks him and Wizard dodges and slashes at the Phantom but Weretiger is able to catch his wrist and grabs hold of Wizard as he moves his hand behind his back and grabs onto his shoulder.
"Yubiwa no Mahōtsukai, don't get in the way!" Weretiger told him before he threw Ghoul Stones in front of Toshie and his friends as they soon fully grew in size.
Tohka and the Yamai Twins move in front of the Ghouls to protect Toshie and their friends as they back away as the Ghouls walk towards them. Seeing that Nitou growls in frustration.
"Ah, mou…!" Nitou then saw his grandmother's attention wasn't towards him, and using that chance he ran away and found a hiding spot behind a nearby stone railing as he sat down.
Nitou then looks around for any people, and seeing that the coast was clear, he soon spun his arms in a smaller rotation than he usually does.
"Hen...shin." He said quietly as he inserted his Beast Ring into his Driver.
[SET, O~PEN! L-I-O-N: LION]
Nitou soon transforms into Kamen Rider Beast and pokes his head above the railing to see the situation.
Toshie and Wizard's friends are now back against a wall and as Toshie looks away in fear, Beast soon comes to their aid as he jumps at the Ghouls and lands a slash on one of them as the others turn to them while the girls are surprised to see him transform.
Beast soon begins to battle the other Ghouls as he slashes two of them, and lands another slash on a Ghoul followed with a kick, and as one Ghoul thrust its spear at Beast he caught in time and lands a slash on it, and slashes on the other Ghouls around him and finished the last Ghoul with an overhead slash.
As the Ghouls fell to the ground they exploded and their mana was devoured by Beast's Driver.
"Is he a mage too?" Toshie asked.
"U-Ummm...Well…" Mikie mutters as she wasn't sure how to explain since Beast wanted to keep his identity a secret to his grandmother.
Wizard and Weretiger were in an arm lock as they watched Beast's battle against the Ghouls.
"So you're the one who devours Phantoms to avoid dying?!" Weretiger asked and Beast turned to the Phantom and pointed his finger at him.
"That's right!" Beast answered before he stopped and turned to his grandmother. He then coughs and jumps and lands on top of a pathway.
"I'm the famed Magical Girl Beast~." Beast told them with a higher pitch voice to make himself sound feminie and did a few girly poses as light reflected on his golden armor.
"Eh?" Rinne, Mikie, Yoshino, and Yoshinon said.
"Wait...He was a girl this whole time?" Tohka blinks in confusion and the Yamai Twins nearly facefaulted.
"Tohka, come on. It's obvious that he's only acting like that to fool his grandmother." Kaguya said.
"Laughable: But you have to give him points for his acting though." Yuzuru said.
"Magical girl?" Wizard said in confusion before Weretiger pushed him aside and the Phantom turned to Beast.
"I could just eat you up~!" Beast declared with his high pitched voice.
"You're really creeping me out." Weretiger told him.
"I'm so vexed~!" Beast said as he jumped down while squealing like a girl.
Beast landed in front of Weretiger as the Phantom charges at him to punch him and Beast parries his punch with his sword and lands a slash on the Phantom in a graceful movement as he stabs on Weretiger while sticking out his bottom before he chuckles like a girl.
Weretiger then punches at Beast several times and he dodges his punches while spinning like a ballerina.
"Spin spin spin~" Beast said before he parried a punch from Weretiger and landed a few smacks on him using his sword before he struck a girly pose.
Beast then skips at Weretiger and kicks at him as the Phantom parries it. Weretiger punches at Beast once again and Beast parries his attacks with his sword and lands a slash on Weretiger as he stumbles back.
"Is he serious?" Wizard mutters after watching Beast's girly fighting style.
Wizard then runs in to assist Beast as he lands a slash on Weretiger, and Beast followed with another slash on the Phantom, and then both Riders land a double stab on Weretiger as the Phantom was forced to stumble back while Beast sat on the ground and blew a kiss at the Phantom.
"He's serious…" Wizard sighs as he looks at Beast as the latter waves at Weretiger.
As the Phantom stops stumbling he looks up at the two Riders in front of him.
"Tch! Two against one is unfair." Weretiger said.
Not liking his chances here, Weretiger retreats by jumping in the middle and to the top of a stairway and then on top of a nearby building and continues to jump away using the rooftops.
After Weretiger had gotten away, Beast sighed as he fell on his hands and knees as he was exhausted by his acting as Wizard changed back into his civilian form.
"That was tiring…" Beast mutters as Shido turns and heads towards Toshie to check on her.
"Are you okay? You're not hurt, right?" Shido asked.
"No. I'm fine." Toshie told the young man before she set her sights on Beast, and the latter flinched as he could feel his grandmother's stare at him.
Beast turned to her as he stood up and said this with his high pitched voice.
"Okay~. I'm going~! Bye bye~" Beast told them as he used this chance to leave. "Later~"
Unknown to them is that the Phantom, Gremlin, was spying on them on top of a pathway as he chuckles and smiles.
"I see. So this Gate is Beast's Grandmother." He said before he chuckled as this gave him an idea.
After Weretiger had retreated and Beast had run away to change back into Nitou, they brought Toshie to Omokagedo where they explained the situation to her.
"I see…" Toshie said with some understanding. "So that's why the monster attacked me."
"Yeah. That's right." Shido nodded.
"When people live long lives, they experience so many different things. I can't believe that I'd be saved by a mage." Toshie said as Wajima walked out of the kitchen carrying a tray with a teapot on it.
"I'm sure you're surprised. Plus your own-" Wajima said as he was about to pour some tea in Toshie's cup, but then Nitou ran to the Ring maker.
"Wait! Just where is the toilet again?!" Nitou asks as he grabs onto Wajima and drags him away from his grandmother.
Toshie was a little confused by her grandson's behavior before she spotted Koyomi behind the counter looking at her crystal ball, and noticed the Ring on her finger.
"Are you possibly the Magical Girl Beast?" Toshie asked.
"Eh?" Koyomi said in confusion before she shook her head. "I'm not a mage. Anyway, Beast is-"
Nitou screams as he runs at Koyomi as she turns to him as he grabs onto her arm.
"Koyomi-chan, you're so cute today." Nitou states as he drags Koyomi out of the counter. "Let Onii-chan buy you a new hat. Let's shopping!"
"Hey!" Koyomi said as she tried to pull her arm free.
"Let's go! Let's go!" Nitou told her with a smile.
"Kousuke! What are you doing?! How obnoxious!" Toshie shouted at her grandson for his behavior.
Nitou let's go of Koyomi as he and the others turn to the elderly woman.
"What the hell?! This wouldn't be a problem if you hadn't come to Tengu, Baa-chan!" Nitou told his grandmother.
"Just how does that make sense? Give me a proper explanation!" Toshie demanded.
Everyone in the antique shop was silent while a few of them were a little worried before Nitou gave his grandmother this answer.
"Just go back to Fukui already...Please." Nitou turns away from his grandmother.
"I'll gladly return at any time as long as you're with me." Toshie told him, and that only annoyed Nitou.
(Later)
It was now night time in Tengu City. Nitou had set up camp in a park that was close to Omokagedo to make sure his grandmother was safe, he started a campfire as he ate a cup of instant ramen.
Nitou then noticed that Shido had arrived as he was standing in front of the Primordial Mage.
"What are you doing?" Shido asked as he walked to Nitou. "You should've eaten with us."
"I didn't want to be there." Nitou told him.
Toshie was in a guest room that Wajima prepared for her, she was seated on a chair as Mikie was giving her a shoulder massage.
"I'm sorry to put you through this trouble." Toshie told the girl.
"It's no problem. I like doing these sorts of things. I'm a grandma's girl. Although she passed away when I was in middle school. She really pampered me." Mikie told her.
"I see. So you really loved your grandmother?" Toshie asked.
"Hai." Mikie nodded.
"I'm envious. My grandson doesn't like me." Toshie said.
"Ever since I was a kid, she's been strict. She's always angry with me." Nitou said as he recalled his childhood memories with his grandmother.
(Flashback)
In his family's estate, a young Nitou was seen swinging on a rope that was hanging on a tree as he was yelling. That is when his grandmother, a Toshie with black hair and without her glasses, had arrived.
"Hey, Kousuke!" Toshie calls out as Nitou turns to her. "Stop it!"
Nitou was standing on a ladder that was leaning on a building, the child Nitou was admiring the view around him.
"Sugoi." He said and his grandmother had arrived again.
"Hey, Kousuke!" She calls out to him as Nitou lowered his hand and looked down at his grandmother. "Come down!"
The young Nitou was standing by a river as he threw rocks in it out of frustration towards his grandmother's attitude towards him.
Nitou clicks his tongue before he spotted something that was on the ground as he picked it up and saw that it was a fossil.
"Wow. A fossil!" Nitou said.
"Hey, Kousuke!" Toshie shouted at Nitou when he returned him as she shook her grandson's shoulders which made him drop the fossil he found. "I told you not to visit the river alone!"
(End of flashback)
"She was against everything I did." Nitou said as he recalled another memory shortly after he graduated high school.
(Flashback)
Both Nitou and his grandmother were seated in a room of their house, where he told his grandmother on what course he intends to take in college.
"Archaeology?!" Toshie said.
"I already talked to Mom and Dad. Adventures are romance for men! I want to excavate the world's ruins with my own hands!" Nitou told her.
"I won't allow it. What a naive thought-" Toshie started before Nitou interrupted her.
"Say no more! I've already made my decision!" Nitou shouted at her before he stood up and left.
(End of flashback)
"He was such a reckless child…" Toshie said as she told Mikie the same story. "That I couldn't help being strict. I suppose it's only natural that he'd distance himself from me."
"That's not true. Nitou-san told you to return to Fukui for your own safety. And he saved-" Mikie said before she stops in order to hide Nitou's secret as Toshie looks up at her. "Oh, never mind."
Mikie moves in front of the elderly woman and shows her an assured smile.
"At any rate, I don't think Nitou-san wants to distance himself from you." Mikie told her, and Toshie couldn't help but smile but she then wondered what her grandson's feelings towards her were.
(Back with Shido and Nitou)
Shido had sat down next to Nitou as he listened to his story.
"Shido. Can you see Baa-chan off to Fukui? Please." Nitou requested.
"Guess I have no choice." Shido said as he stood up.
(Meanwhile)
Weretiger, in his Human Form, was seated on a chair as he was in his hideout. He was wondering how to drive the Gate, Nitou Toshie, to despair.
"How can I drive that Gate to despair?" He then heard the door opening as he turned to it.
"Looks like you're stumped...Igawa-kun." Said a man with a familiar playful voice. But being called his Gate's name only angered Weretiger.
"Who dares...to call me by that name?" Weretiger asked as he stood up and changed into his Phantom Form.
His visitor chuckles as he too changes into Phantom Form as he walks to Weretiger and reveals himself as the Phantom Gremlin.
"I'm Sora. I guess this is your first time meeting me in this form." Gremlin said.
"So you're a Phantom? Just what do you want?!" Weretiger asked.
"Beast doesn't want his grandmother to know that he's a mage. I think you can take advantage of this." Gremlin answered, and that got Weretiger's attention.
(Next day)
Morning had arrived, Shido and Mikie were walking with Toshie to the train station as Shido was carrying her luggage bag.
"I'm sorry you have to return with us, Toshie-san." Shido told the elderly woman.
"I find you much more reliable than my good-for-nothing grandson." Toshie told him.
"Nitou-san should have at least seen you off to the station." Mikie said.
Unknown to them, is that Nitou, wearing a disguise, was following them in a distance. His disguise consists of a black suit with a hat, a long hair wig, sunglasses, and a fake mustache.
Nitou was hiding behind a stone base as he poke his head out and spy on them.
"To the station...to the station…" Nitou mutters as he continues to follow them in a distance.
Shido, Mikie, Toshie, and the Nitou in disguise had arrived at a bus stop as a bus soon arrived as it stopped and opened its doors.
Nitou walks into the bus first along with a few civilians, and lastly were Toshie, Mikie, and Shido as the elderly woman and high school girl walks into first as Mikie made sure she was being careful.
"Toshie-san, be careful." Mikie told her as they walked inside as Shido stopped for a moment to look for any signs of Weretiger or Ghouls. "I'll pay."
Seeing that the coast was clear of any Phantoms and Ghouls, Shido was about to enter the bus but then the door began to close in front of him.
"Eh?! Hey! Driver! Let me in." Shido calls out to the driver as he knocks on the door, but is ignored as the bus takes off without him as Shido watches it leave. "No way!"
Mikie then noticed that the bus had left Shido behind.
"Wait. Wait. Someone else wanted to board." Mikie calls out as she turns to the bus driver.
"Sorry, but he can't board." The bus driver stated as he turned to her to reveal himself as Weretiger as Mikie recognizes him.
"You're…" Mikie gasped.
"Seriously?!" Shido shouted as he chased after the bus.
Weretiger roars as he changes into his Phantom Form, and seeing him transformed surprised Nitou as he was seated on the far back of the bus, and Shido saw him transform as well as he continued to run towards the driving bus.
"The Phantom!" Shido said.
"This time I will take you to the depths of despair!" Weretiger swore as he pressed harder on the gas pedal which made the bus drive even faster leaving Shido behind as he stopped running.
Weretiger then made a few sharp turns which frightened the passengers on board as they held onto something. Mikie, Nitou, and Toshie did the same.
Then as an extra insurance, Weretiger throws three Ghoul Stones to the floor of the base as they soon grow in size. The passengers screamed in fear of the Ghouls while Mikie and Nitou were worried to see them.
The Ghouls slowly walk towards Toshie to attack, Mikie turns to the elderly and soon brings out the frog origami she had given yesterday as she looks at it.
Mikie bravely roars as she stands up and charges at the Ghouls and grabs onto one of them to hold them but the Ghoul easily shakes her off and smacks her in the head which sends her falling next to Toshie as she catches her.
"Mikie-chan!" Toshie said in worry for her.
The Ghouls continue their march towards Toshie as she gasps in fear. Seeing the situation here, Nitou couldn't sit back and watch anymore as he stood up and kicked one of the Ghouls away.
Nitou then dodged an attack from another Ghoul and pushed it aside, and dodged another attack from a Ghoul and pushed it to the ground, but then the Ghoul he pushed aside soon stood back up and pushed Nitou back on the wall.
'If I could transform…' Nitou thought but he couldn't transform in front of his grandmother.
Then the Ghoul used this chance to smack Nitou on the head which knocked his wig, hat, glasses, and mustache to the ground, and Toshie soon saw her grandson's face.
"Kousuke!" Toshie said in surprise that he's here as Nitou slowly turns to his grandmother as he soon notices that his head disguise is now gone as he attempts to hide his face.
The Ghouls soon turned their attention back to Toshie as they moved towards her and Mikie, and Nitou soon noticed this. Nitou growls as he stands up and runs through the Ghouls as he pushes them aside and away from his friend and grandmother.
"Outta the way!" Nitou told them as he stopped in front of his grandmother as she was looking at him. "Baa-chan, save the scolding for later."
Nitou then scans his Driver On Ring on his belt.
[DRIVER ON]
Nitou soon puts on his Beast Ring as he raises it and swings his arms.
"Hennnnnnn~shin!" Nitou shouted as he struck his pose and inserted his Ring into his Driver.
[SET, O~PEN! L-I-O-N: LION]
Nitou soon transforms into Beast which surprised both his grandmother and Weretiger.
"You again?!" Weretiger said in annoyance.
Beast soon begins to battle the Ghouls as he grabs onto the railings on the ceiling and kicks one of them, he then dodges the second Ghoul's attack as he pushes it aside, and lands a knee strike on the third one and elbow strikes it on the back.
Beast then turns at the Ghoul behind as he dodges its attack as he falls on an empty seat and kicks on it, and kicks on another Ghoul in front him, and dodge another Ghoul's attack as he stands up.
Beast then grabs onto the railing on the ceiling and grabs hold of a Ghoul's neck with his legs as he throws it to the ground.
Beast then dodge that Ghoul's spear thrust and lands an elbow strike on it. He then grabs onto the railing again to land a somersault kick on the Ghouls in front and behind him before he knee strikes the Ghoul in front of him.
"What a cheeky thing to do." Weretiger said as he spun the wheel around which spun the bus as well, and with that Beast was having trouble maintaining his balance as he was about to fall on the door, as Weretiger flips the switch that opens it. "Fall!"
The door soon opens behind Beast as he manages to stop himself from falling out as he grabs onto the wall railing beside him. Beast was about to pull himself back inside, but then one of the Ghouls moved in front of him and thrust its spear at him which he dodged in time but was left hanging on the door.
Beast was able to dodge another thrust from the Ghoul in front of him before he managed to grab onto the Ghoul and throw it out of the bus as the Ghoul rolled on the ground.
Beast soon moves back inside of the bus as he kicks on a charging Ghoul and dodge the other one's attack and grabs onto its spear before that Ghoul pushes him down a seat.
As the bus continues to drive forward on the street, Shido, now as Kamen Rider Wizard, soon arrives riding on his bike as he jumps over the bus and lands in front of it as he faces the incoming bus.
Weretiger was confused why he stopped but didn't care as he pressed harder on the gas pedal as the bus drove faster with the intention of running over Wizard.
Wizard wasn't intimidated by this as he put on his Big Ring and scanned the Ring on his Driver.
[BIG, PLEASE]
A magic circle appeared in front of Wizard as he thrust his arm through it which enlarged it as Wizard stopped the bus using his giant hand as Weretiger's head fell on the steering wheel, and Beast quickly stood back up and dragged the Ghoul away from the people.
"Quickly, run!" Beast told the passengers as they ran out of the bus and away from it as Beast kicked on the Ghoul.
Mikie and Toshie were the last to run out of the bus as Mikie helped her.
"Quickly!" Mikie told her as she grabs hold of Toshie as they run behind the bus to hide.
One of the Ghouls was thrown out of the bus as Beast jumps out of it as well as the other Ghoul followed him to attack him, and Beast dodges its attack and that Ghoul was fired on the back by Wizard now armed with his gun.
Beast turns to Wizard as he dodges another Ghoul's attack and kicks on it and kicks another Ghoul as more start to appear around them.
Beast lands a reverse spin kick on a Ghoul behind and parries another's attack towards him as he grabs hold of its spear, and Wizard fires on that Ghoul as the two magic-theme Riders continue to battle the Ghouls before they do a back to back.
"So you came after all!" Wizard told Beast.
"I was just seeing her off!" Beast stated. "Anyway, let's quickly finish this!"
Then both Wizard and Beast charge at the Ghouls to battle. Both Mikie and Toshie continue to watch their battle from their hiding spot.
Beast lands a kick on a Ghoul while Wizard fires on one. Beast dodges another Ghoul's attack, and Wizard did the same as he fired on another Ghoul before he kicked on a Ghoul that was behind him.
Beast soon changes to his Chameleo Ring and Wizard changes to his Water Style Ring. Wizard soon scans his Ring on his Driver and Beast inserts his Ring into his own.
[WATER, PLEASE: SUI SUI SUI SUI]
[CHAMELEO, GO: CHA-CHA-CHA-CHA CHAMELEO]
Wizard changes into his Water Style while Beast now wears his Chameleo Mantle.
Wizard soon changes his gun to its Sword Mode as he charges at the Ghouls as he slashes on them as he dodge and parry their attacks before he stabs one which was behind him.
Beast was kicking on some of the Ghouls as he dodge their attacks before he stops as the Ghouls surrounded him and was going to attack at all sides but Beast soon stretch out his Mantle's tongue to attack the Ghouls as he stabs two of them and grabs onto the other four and crushed them to destroy them as the Ghouls around him exploded and Beast soon devoured their mana.
"That mage is...Kousuke." Toshie said as she was still stunned to learn this.
"Alright." Beast, now armed with his sword, said as Wizard walked to them.
"All that's left is you, main dish!" Beast declared as he pointed his sword at the bus.
Weretiger soon opens the door and walks out of the bus.
"Who are you calling a main dish?!" Weretiger asked.
Wizard soon pulls out his Hurricane Style Ring and Beast brings out his Dolphi Ring. Both Riders were about to put on their respective Rings, but Weretiger stopped them as he fired a few energy shots in front of their feet which created small explosions which made both Wizard and Beast lose their footing and let go of their Rings as they flew in the air.
Both Wizard and Beast manage to catch the Rings, Beast soon puts his on and was about to insert it into his Driver but it wasn't able to fit.
"Huh?!" Beast said as he looked at the Ring on his finger and saw that it was Wizard's Hurricane Ring. "This is your Ring, Shido!"
Wizard, now wearing Beast's Dolphi Ring, resets his Driver and scans the Ring on it.
[BEAST, PLEASE]
Wizard then notices he had the wrong Ring as well, but then a purple magic circle appeared in front of him and water splashes appeared by his feet as he looked down.
"What's this?" Wizard said in confusion.
With his guard now down, Weretiger uses this chance to charge at Wizard to attack him, but then Wizard's body changes into water as he dives into the ground.
Weretiger was stunned by this and wondered where Wizard had gone as the magic-theme Rider had jumped out of the ground behind Weretiger like it was made out of water as he lands a slash on the Phantom as he dives into the ground again.
Wizard once again jumps out of the ground and lands a slash on Weretiger as he dives into the ground. Beast saw this as he sat up.
"Why are you able to use mine when I can't use yours?!" Beast asked as he attempted to use Wizard's Hurricane Ring two times.
Wizard jumps out of the ground in front of Weretiger and lands a slash on him as he dives into the ground.
"Plus your spell is cooler than mine!" Beast said as Wizard jumps out behind Weretiger and slashes him before returning into the ground. "No fair!"
Wizard jumps out in front of Weretiger as he lands two slashes on the Phantom as he lands on his feet.
"This is awesome!" Wizard said as he was amazed by what he just did. "Hey, Nitou! Can I have this Ring?"
"Ah...mou!" Beast said in frustration as he stood up and replaced Wizard's Ring with his Buffa Ring as he inserted it into his Driver.
[BUFFA, GO: BU-BU-BUBUBU BUFFA]
Beast changes to his Buffa Mantle as he charges at Weretiger to slash at him but the Phantom dodges his attack as Wizard steps aside.
"Shido, leave the finisher to me! I rarely get to devour Phantoms!" Beast told him as they both slash at Weretiger as he dodges their attacks.
Toshie had heard that before she remembered the Phantom's words yesterday.
"So you're the one who devours Phantoms to avoid dying?!"
"Fall to despair and give birth to a Phantom!"
Hardening her resolve, Toshie walked out of her hiding spot much to Mikie's shock.
"Hey. Toshie-san!" Mikie calls out to the elderly Gate but is ignored as Toshie walks towards the Phantom Weretiger.
Weretiger continues to dodge the sword of attacks of both Wizard and Beast before Toshie calls out to her pursuer.
"Hey, Phantom!" The Riders and Phantom stop fighting as they turn to Toshie as she stops walking. "Drive me to despair."
"Hey, what are you saying, Baa-chan?!" Beast asked in shock, on what his grandmother was doing.
"I won't run or hide. Just do it quickly." Toshie said, and hearing that really impressed Weretiger.
"Well said!" Weretiger said as he was about to move towards the elderly woman.
"Hey, stop it!" Beast said as he grabbed hold of the Phantom.
Weretiger tossed Beast aside, Wizard slashes at him but the Phantom parries his attack and lands a punch on his chest sending Wizard away.
Weretiger soon turns his attention back to Toshie as he walks to her.
"Let the fear of death drive you to despair!" Weretiger said as he charged at the elderly Gate and attacked her…
"No!" Mikie shouted as she ran out of her hiding spot and to Toshie.
As Weretiger throws a smack at Toshie, Mikie pushes the elderly woman aside and takes the attack instead as she was sent flying and rolled on the ground as Weretiger's attack had knocked her out.
Beast and Toshie notice this as Beast helps his grandmother stand back up.
"Mikie-chan!" Wizard said in worry as he stood on his hands and knees.
Wizard soon stands back up and runs to his friend to help her, but stops as Gremlin walks to her side.
"This is getting interesting." Gremlin chuckles.
"You again?" Wizard said.
Gremlin turns at Wizard as he changes into his Phantom Form.
"Hey, want to trade?" Gremlin asks as he walks over Mikie before he looks down at her. "This girl for that granny."
Toshie was about to move in to intervene but Beast stopped her as he placed an arm in front of her.
"No!" Beast told her as Toshie turned to her grandson as he shook his head.
"Beast-kun, bring your grandmother to me, alone. Oh, of course…" Gremlin said as he picked the unconscious Mikie up. "She's dead if you don't come. I'll contact you later. Let's go, Igawa-kun."
"Hey!" Weretiger said as he ran to him.
"Wait!" Wizard said as he was going to run towards Gremlin as well.
But then Gremlin fired several energy shots around him which created large explosions, as Wizard stopped running and knelt down and Beast protected his grandmother from the Phantom's attack.
As the explosions had died down the Riders and Toshie saw that both Phantoms were now gone along with Mikie.
"Mikie-chan!" Wizard shouted in worry as he stood up.
While Beast was left pondering on what to do as he turned to his grandmother and to the spot where the Phantoms and Mikie had disappeared.

(Sore wa sore wa hatenai tabi. Kimi wo sukuu yūsha no monogatari.) (The screen showed the starry night sky above Tengu City, and then it lowered to Wizard's back as he was standing before it moved to his face as Wizard raised his head as the sun rose in front of him.)
(Aru otogi no kuni Tabidatsu wa yūsha) (Next it changes to the park where Shido and Tohka had their first date, as we see two Wizards striking a pose in Flame Style and Flame Dragon Style before we Yoshinon holding the Water Style Ring appearing on the screen as it change the background.)
(Sōgen kakenuke Mezasu wa ohime-sama) (Next we see Arubi Island and show two Wizards in Water Style and Water Dragon Style striking a pose, and next Tohka appears as she wears the Hurricane Style Ring as the background changes.)
(Makkura na dōkutsu kaze fuki-areru yama koeteku) (Next we see it was night time in Tengu City as the screen showed DEM's Japan Branch, and two Wizards in Hurricane Style and Hurricane Dragon Style standing on top of another building striking a pose, before Origami appeared wearing the Land Style Ring as the background changes to Tenguu Square and showed two Wizards in Land and Land Dragon Styles also striking a pose.)
(Tsurugi wo kazashite) (Sandalphone appears as it changes the screen, as we see Shido wounded and kneeling on the ground with the very same Angel in his hands as he had in front of him)
(Hitomi ni utsuru yūki no honō) (As Shido's powers healed his wounds, he looked up and stood on his feet.)
(Yami no te wo furi-harai kimi no te wo nigiru) (Next we see two hands appearing as they reach out and grab onto each other in a fingerlock and a brought light appears between them as it changes the screen white.)
(Ima datte yume datte tsurugi wo te ni. Kimi no koto mitsukeru yo yami wo saite. Taore tatte tsuraku tatte makenai kara. Kono te wo gyutto tsukamaete) Then it changes to a black sword floating in the starry night sky as the screen moves down, as it did the Yamai Twins appeared, then changes to Kotori in her commander outfit licking her candy, then we see Miku smiling at the screen, then change to Yoshino and Yoshinon smiling as well. Next Tohka appeared on screen but she was wearing a dark and different Astral Dress and had an expression that made it seem like she was a different person. Next we see Kurumi's face appearing on screen as she moves away from it.)
(Kienai yūki no honō ga (Dead or Alive) (Then as Kurumi fades away, flames appear out of nowhere as it covers and changes the background.)
(Sekai terashite-iru) (It changes to Tohka and Shido standing on a beach as they watch the setting sun while holding hands.)
