The ocean is beautiful this time of day. The waves are peaceful and the sky is clear. A perfect day for fishing. If only a Scauldron wouldn't mess with Berk's fishing lanes. That's why we're here, flying over this beautiful ocean. I wonder what life would be like if I was aqualitic dragon instead of a Night Fury. Well we can't do the 'What Ifs' now. We have a dragon to catch. "All right, gang, we'll buzz past the Scauldron and draw its attention so Astrid, Ruff, and Tuff can net it from behind and drag it out to sea, got it?" Hiccup asks as I nod but Snotlout had other ideas. "I still think we should blast it!" He yells as Hookfang flames up. "We need to safely take the Scauldron away from Berk's fishing lanes, so I don't want any crazy ideas on harming the dragon, Snotlout." I growled annoyed at Snotlout's thinking on harming the dragon we want to relocate. "Yeah, but uh, sorry. Crazy is what we do, Matt! Duh!" Ruffnut says as she gets closer to me only for me to fly farther away from her. I shudder at the thought that Ruffnut is still attracted to me.
"You guys realize that a Scauldron's hot water blast can rip the scales off a Screaming Death?" Fishlegs asked us fearfully as I rolled my eyes. Always the fearful but smart viking. Never change Fishlegs. Then we heard nearby roaring before the Scauldron revealed itself from the ocean's surface. "There it is. Let's focus guys." Hiccup says as I added, "Time to net the fish eater." Everyone stares at me weirdly as I chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah, not the best words I picked. I know." We got behind the Scauldron, unaware that we're ready to snag it with the net that we brought with us. "One…" Hiccup starts counting. My nose itches and I noticed that Fishlegs was holding in a sneeze. "Two…" My nose itches more and Fishlegs is trying to hold his sneeze. "Three!" "Ah-choo!" Me and Fishlegs sneezed, alerting the Sculdron. 'You had to sneeze, didn't you?' Wolf roared in alarm before the Sculdron dodged out of the way and instead of the dragon we caught, we accidentally caught Snotlout and HookFang. "Aaah! Help me!" "Get this thing off of us!" Snotlout and Hookfang exclaimed as we dodged the Scauldron's attacks. "Watch for his blasts!" I yelled before sneezing again. 'What is wrong with me?' 'I would like to know as well.' Wolf growled as I sneezed again.
The Scauldron sets its eyes on Snotlout before its cheeks starts filling up with scalding water, signalling its attack. "Uhh! I knew I hated this mission." Snotlout says before Toothless plasma blasts the Sculdron away, but unfortunately for us, it escapes in the process.
"Oh, I see how it is. You're allowed to blast it." Tuffnut says, disappointed that he and his sister didn't blast the dragon. We returned back to Berk and once we landed and I shifted back to my human form, Me and Fishlegs started to itch everywhere. What's wrong with us? "You and your Snot-rockets almost got me killed" Snotlout yelled at us but we didn't pay attention because of this constant itch. "Calm down, Snotlout, you lived. Yay us." Astrid jokingly said which I would have laughed at but this itch is killing me! "No thanks to Itch-legs and Icher Shifter over here." Snotlout says pointing at me and Fishlegs as we continue itching profusely. "It's so weird." Fishlegs started as I continued to itch. "I mean, I never…" He starts to sneeze before groaning. "...Get sick. Ohh." Fishlegs started itching again as I said my response. "I been sick sometimes but my immune system as a shifter made me only get slight colds and fevers until it's gone the next day! But, ah, not at, ahh, this ahh-CHOO!" I sneezed and knocked my friends to the ground accidently. "...This magnitude." I awkwardly chuckled before I started itching more and more.
"Dig deeper, see if you can draw blood." Tuffnut encouraged me before I glared at him. "Not helping." I growled before scratching my arms and accidently drew blood with my unsheathed claws. "Oops." Hiccup approached us and grabbed our shoulders. "Well, something's clearly not right with the two of you." He said before we got out of his arms. "I don't see what the big deal is, okay? Everybody sneezes and scratches sometimes." Fishlegs said as I shook my head in disagreement. "This is not natural Fishlegs." I growled itching my back with an axe. Thank you scales. "Not like a honey-covered yak on an anthill." Tuffnut says with a smile before noticing our strange looks. "What? You've never seen a honey-covered yak on an anthill?" He says amused before looking disturbed. "Well, those things scratch. It's terrifying. The horrors haunt my dreams."
"I really don't feel sick, okay?" Fishlegs says annoyed. "I promise I'm fine." FIshlegs then used Meatlug as a back scratcher as Hiccup looked away. "Ugh. Well, maybe you both are just allergic to something." Hiccup guessed as I snorted before sneezing again. "That's impossible. My immune system wouldn't allow it. And allergies also don't run in the Ingerman family, according to him anyway." I say before pointing at Fishlegs then scratching my sides. "Yeah, I'm clean, serene and…" He couldn't finish his sentence and Ruffnut finished it for him. "And an itchin' machine!" She says, pointing at both of us. Then Tuffnut came up with a prideful stance. "Might I interject?" He asked before continuing his sentence before we could answer. We, at the Thorston house, have a very simple allergen detection system. It has never failed." Ruffnut looks at his brother in confusion. "That's a system?" "It is now." Tuffnut confirmed with a whisper as I rolled my eyes and coughed.
We were in the academy which used to be the fighting arena to fight dragons but me and Hiccup turned it into a training area to train dragons. Tuffnut showed us two eggs and I couldn't help but gagged at the smell. That's nasty! "Thousand-year-old eggs.. Slam these down your gullets." Tuffnut says with a smile. Me and Fishlegs looked at each other before shrugging in acceptance and took a bite out of eggs. Surprisingly, it tasted good despite its age. "Oh, it could use a little sea salt." Fishlegs added as I took another bite from my egg. "And a little pepper too." Tuffnut looks down, disappointed that his test has failed. Ruffnut approached us with something behind her back. "What about this?" She says before slapping us with the thing. "Aah!" Fishlegs yelped as I grunted in surprise. "Yak hair. Takes itchy to a whole new level." She sas, brushing the yak hair on our faces before stepping back. Me and Fishlegs stared a bit before slightly itching. "Not really. Feels kind of like my old Aunt Gerta. You know she used to…" I interrupted Fishlegs by kicking him in the knee slightly. He yelps as I got the yak hair off my face. "I'd like to be able to sleep tonight." I growled before sneezing again.
Tuffnut steps up with two mugs full of… I actually have no idea. "Spoiled, coagulated goat milk with just a pinch of hoof jam. I find it changes the whole experience." Tuffnut says handing us the cups as we shivered in disgust with the mention of spoiled coagulated milk. Me and Fishlegs looked at what's in the mug before shrugging and lifting it up to our mouths. The goat's milk stays there for a moment before dropping into our mouths. It would look disgusting outside but to us. "Oh, that is… cheesy and delicious!" Fishlegs exclaimed as I gulped my milk. "I am disturbed that it is actually really good." I said as Hiccup, Astrid and Snotlout groaned in disgust.
Fishlegs feeds Meatlug a rock and leans on her while I lean on Toothless. "I'm telling you, I've never been allergic to anything. Ah-choo!" Fishlegs sneezes on Meatlug as I accidentally sneeze on Toothless. "Ugh! Watch where you point that thing!" "Sorry." I apologized to my brother before noticing the strange look Hiccup was giving me and Fishlegs. "What? What is it?" Fishlegs asked as I listened as well. "Fishlegs? I think you might be allergic to… Meatlug while Matt is allergic to Toothless." Hiccup revealed as me, Toothless, Fishlegs and Meatlug looked at him surprised. "What?" "Why would my brother be allergic to me?" Meatlug and Toothless said as Astrid asked for them. "Why, all of a sudden, would they be allergic to Meatlug and Toothless?" "Perhaps it's just a simple case of adult-onset allergies." Tuffnut guessed as we looked at him strangely besides Ruffnut. "Ah, I concur with your diagnosis, Dr. Nut." Ruffnut says. "I concur with your concur-ation." Tuffnut replies back to his sister before she starts explaining what she and her brother are talking about. "Adult-onset allergies develop in your elder years when your immune system mistakenly identifies a dangerous substance."
We looked at them weirdly before I shrugged in acceptance. "They're right. The more you age, the weaker your immune system. Doesn't explain it to me though since I'm younger." I said as Fishlegs shook his head. "Don't be silly. There's no way I'm… allergic to Meat-" Ruffnut forces Fishlegs head into Meatlug's side and he starts sneezing hysterically. "Oh, yeah, diagnosis confirmed." Ruffnut says as I snorted before glaring at Tuffnut who tried to sneak behind me. "Don't." I snarled knowing that he'll force my head in Toothless's side. Tuffnut chuckled nervously before running to his sister's side as Hiccup walked in front of Fishlegs and I. "Fishlegs, Matt, there's only one person that might actually be able to help." Hiccups says as we start walking to Gothi's hut.
Gothi moves her arms silently as we circle her and the sand as Snotlout chuckles. "Oh, I gotta see this." He says as Wolf rolls his eyes in amusement. Gothi's arms stop and she opens her eyes before starting to make pictures in the sand with her walking stick. "What's she saying?" Fishlegs asked as I nod, wanting to know as well. "Huh." Gobber says confused as I tilt my head. "What? What!?" Fishlegs yells anxiously. "She wants to paralyze you two." Gobber finally says as I widen my eyes and Fishlegs gasps in horror as Snotlout cheers in excitement. "Yes!" Snotlout yells before Gothi smacks Gobber in the back of the head with her stick. "Aah! Check that. Hypnotize. Sorry, she wants to hypnotize you two." Gobber apologizes before Gothi waves her stick in front of Fishlegs and I. Fishlegs chuckles as I focused all my attention on the stick. "Unfortunately, guys, this is never gonna work on me and Matt because we're way too…" Suddenly everything went black. What do you know? It works.
"Unconscious? Ha! Quick, put their hands in warm water." Snotlout laughs as I shake my head immediately. "We're not going to do that." I said as Gobber translated more of Gothi's pictures. "Okay, now that they're under, she wants us to tell them, separately, that they're not allergic to Meatlug and Toothless." He says as Snotlout looks at me confused. "Does that really work?" He asks as I approach Fishlegs and Matt's sleeping bodies. "I guess we'll find out. Here goes." I said before waving my hands in front of Fishlegs and speaking eerily. "Fishlegs, you are not allergic to Meatlug. You are not allergic to Meatlug." I then turned to Matt and did the same to him but this time he's not allergic to Toothless. "So, that's it?" Snotlout says slowly. "Hypnosis is very powerful. Okay, let's bring them out of it." I said, turning to Gothi who nodded.
"Now, now, now, hang on a second. We've got an opportunity here." Snotlout interrupts as I look at him. "We can rebuild Fish-face. We can turn him into a worshiped Viking, a fearless godlike here as strong as three yaks! A Viking who commands attention! In other words, a Viking worthy of my friendship. And Matt can be a baby for all I care." Snotlout laughed, touching his chest with a smile. "Uh, yeah, sorry, Snotlout, we're not doing any of that. You can bring them out of it now." I said, turning to Gothi who got in front of Fishlegs and Matt before snapping her fingers. Fishlegs stands up and surprisingly cracks his joints and we look at Fishlegs confused. "Fishlegs?" I questioned. "Fishlegs?" Fishlegs says with a haughty accent. "There's no Fishlegs here." Fishlegs then pushed me and Snotlout away and approached Meatlug who smiled at him. "Who is this pudgy little reptile?" Fishlegs rudely says as Meatlug whimpers. "W-What?" I heard Meatlug say as Gobber replies, "Well, that was a bit harsh." I looked at Fishlegs worriedly and took a step in front of him. "Fishlegs, are you all right?" I asked before Fishlegs glared at me. This is not like him at all. "Are you deaf, skinny, one-legged boy?" Definitely not Fishlegs. Fishlegs looks at Gothi's stick before grabbing it. "The name's Bonecrusher. Aah!" He grunts and breaks Gothi's stick in half. "Thor Bonecrusher."
How did this happen, then I realized that Snotlout was the one that said those things. "Snotlout, do you realize what you've done? You fool, you've created…" "My very own super-Viking… Thor Flipping Bonecrusher! I love it!" Snotlout exclaims as the now hypnotized Fishleg takes a knee over a sheep which bleeps. Astrid looks behind us to check on Matt before gasping. "Hiccup! Fishlegs isn't the only one different!" We turned and widened our eyes. Right in front of us is a baby night fury! "Wow! A baby night fury! I saw it first, it's mine!" Tuffnut exclaims causing the baby night fury to whimper in fear. "Tuffnut! It's Matt! Somehow Snotlout's idiotic voice during Gothi's hypnotysm turn him into a baby!" Astrid growled, angry at Snotlout.
Tuffnut was about to reply before we heard a screech and a black figure landed between us. "Hello friends! Wow so this is Nightshift's home! Although why the house up in the mountains? It will be a drag to walk up and down those steps!" The figure says taking off her cloak to reveal… "Tyse!" I say surprise. "Brother Hiccup! I missed you!" Tyse says, giving me a tight hug. A bone crushing hug. "T-Tyse… Can't… Breathe!" I gasped out before she let go, making me fall on my back. Shifters have so much strength! "Oops! Sorry! Anyway, where's Nightshift? I need to speak to him about something-" She notices Matt and gasps, somehow producing sparkles in her eyes. How is that possible? Illusions? "A baby! A baby Night Fury! You're so adorable and cute!" She squeals, picking up Matt and spinning him around. "I thought Nightshift and Toothless were the only ones?" Tyse tilted her head at us as we rubbed the back of our necks. "W-Well Toothless and Matt are still the only ones. And the thing is…" "You're actually holding Matt." Astrid finished causing Tyse to blink.
Tyse looked at Matt with a new perspective before nodding in conclusion. "I'm surprised but I can see it. Same green eyes, almost innocent look, a very powerful Fury's Fire within him. How did this happen exactly? And what's with Fishlegs? His aura is a bit different." She asks curiously as Fishlegs scoffs in aggregation. "Who is this Fishlegs this beast shifter speaks of?" He says, causing Tyse to growl. "Not to mention rude! Beast? At least I don't weigh 400 pounds! Or is it 600 for all the fish you eat!" Tyse snarls. Oh boy this is getting out of hand. "Ok! No need to fight. And to answer your previous question? Snotlout hypnotized Matt to be a baby, but I didn't expect this." I said pointing at Matt's new form. "Hypnotism? I guess that makes sense, although it is only temporary. Once you hypnotize a Shifter it doesn't last long. Our Fury's Fire begins repairing the mental damage or reconstruction of our memories, snapping the Shifter back to normal." Tyse explains but it doesn't explain why Matt is suddenly a baby dragon. "And him being a baby?" I asked for clarification. "Not sure. I suppose that while the Fury's Fire reconstructs his original self, it changes his form to better suit his current situation. Him acting like a baby equals to turning into a baby! Science! Or is it math? Maybe neither? I was not educated during my childhood as a bloodthirsty demon." She says with a creepy smile. We stayed silent at that. "Kidding!" She exclaimed. "Honestly, loosen up."
Wow! Berk looks so cool! "Hello Mr. Viking! Hello Mr. Viking! Hello! Mrs. Viking" I greeted as we passed by a couple Berk's residents who gave me the weird eye. I don't blame them. I haven't had human contact in over thirty years. 'These vikings are more friendly than the ones we encountered.' My spirit dragon, Reghi, spoke through our bond. 'Yeah! And they let dragon's have homes here! It's so amazing that coexistence does this!' I squealed externally causing more vikings to look at me funny. But I think Fishlegs is getting the most attention. "And Gothi can't just turn him back?" Astrid asked, holding the baby Nightshift, as Fishlegs greets the vikings with a hearty accent? Is it hearty or haughty? I need to relearn my social skills with humans again.
Boring!
"Not without her staff, which Thor Bonecrusher crushed and threw off the cliff." Hiccup says as I growl. Thor Bonecrusher is a meanie! I want the lovable and gentle Fishlegs back! Always knowledgeable for every dragon secret he finds and gladly expresses his love for knowledge! I hope he turns back to normal soon. I can hear the mumbles of the vikings concerning Fishlegs new attitude. No he isn't Fishlegs. Until he's fixed I won't consider him the Fishlegs I know! As I thought about him, Snotlout asked Fishlegs a question. "So, TB, you're not afraid of anything, huh? Aha!" Snotlout pulls a sword but Thor catches it between his hands. "Oh." Snotlout says before Thor throws the sword to the side. "Ha! Child's play." He grunts as I snort. Arrogant and cocky eal-eater. "How about fire?" Snotlout brings out a torch of flame, but Thor smacks it away which lands into a house and catches fire. "I scoff at fire!" He says with a smirk but I was focused on the flames. "Cool! The house is on fire!" I say before realizing what it actually is. "Oh scales! The house is on fire!" I screamed and went to find a plentiful source of water.
I came back with a giant bucket of water only to see the house no longer on fire and the villagers cheering for Thor Bonecrusher. My eye twitched erratically as dark thoughts enter my mind and an urge to torture someone, specifically Thor. 'He thinks he's so cool. I wonder how he'll sing when I cut my blade right THROUGH HIS SKIN!' 'Tyse. Calm yourself.' Reghi spoke as I breathed in deeply before sighing. I sometimes wonder why I have a psychotic sadist inside of me. It's probably all the torture I went through as a child. No child should ever experience what I seen. Rape, torture, pain, blood, blood, BLOOD, BLOOD, BLOOD! 'TYSE!' Reghi exclaimed, suddenly snapping out my phase. 'Huh? Did I do it again? Sorry.'
"People of Berk!" I hear Thor yell to the surrounding crowd. "It is with great pleasure that I announce the arrival of me, Thor Bonecrusher. The most universally feared and loved Viking in all the land is here to enchant you with my presence." I stared blankly before hearing the sounds of crying and saw an apple cart rolling down towards a baby! Before I reacted, Thor suddenly front flipped multiple times startling both me and everyone else. "What!?" I heard Hiccup shout in surprised before Thor landed in front of the rolling cart and stopped it merely with his hand while tossing the baby to his mother then threw an apple to a homeless viking, before he put the apple in his boot and ate it. Disgusting!
"Did you see that? That was incredible!" Snotlout exclaimed as the vikings cheered to Thor. "He ran, and then did a flip and then a toss and then a thing, and then flipped into the other thing! Ooh! He's amazing." "Is it me, or did Snotlout just fall in love with Fishlegs?" Astrid asked amusedly while holding baby Nightshift. "Bonecrusher! Bonecrusher! Bonecrusher!" The viking chanted before we heard a baby yak cry "Shh, everyone! Thor hears the sound of a baby yak in trouble." Thor spoke before jumping with the agility of a shifter and bounced away. We watch Thor land in front of the baby yak and pinched it causing it to go to sleep. The viking applauded Thor while I scowled with slits in my eyes. "Hahaha! Thor, you have got to teach me that Viking yak pinch." Snotlout exclaimed before Thor put his hand on Snotlout's neck and did the same thing to him. "All in the wrist, Snotman." Thor replies before walking away.
We followed both Thor and Snotlout to Gobber's blacksmith seeing Snotlout showing a dagger to Thor. Thor examined it and said, "Oh, that's perfect… for removing splinters." Then he throws it perfectly near my feet. I didn't flinch but my eyes became more slitted. "Hahaha! What about this one? You can use it to annihilate your enemies." Snotlouts puts a sword into Thor reach who grabs it and examines the blade. That's a nice handle, I suppose… if I had wee lady hands. Hahaha!" Thor laughs before throwing the sword near Gobber's head. 'Can I kill him?' 'No.' Irritated, Gobber approached Thor with a scowl. "Huh. I made that handle with my best leather." I then noticed Gobber holding an axe and it looked beautiful. It's not Shifter made but I must respect Gobber's craftsmanship.
That all stopped when Thor took it from him. "No, this. This is an axe for a Viking." Then he started slashing the air and almost cut Snotlout's head off. "That's Stoick's axe." Gobber said. "Correction: this was Stoick's axe." Thor said smugly before walking away. Hiccup tried to stop Thor. "Uh, okay, uh, Fishlegs?" Thor stopped and glared at Hiccup. "I-I mean, Bonecrusher." He stuttered. "Stoick isn't exactly the kind of chief who likes to share his things, especially his axe." Hiccup explained. "Neither do I. If this Stoick fellow wants it, he can always try and take it back from me." Thor says and walks away. "Oh man! He just totally called out Stoick! How much do we love this guy?" Snotlout says and follows Thor. "Fishlegs." Meatlug groans sadly as Hiccup looks at her before at the direction where Thor and Snotlout left. "Okay, this is getting out of hand. We need to get Thor Bonecrusher back to Gothi before we lose Fishlegs forever." Hiccup says as I nodded. "I totally agree. Just one question. Where'd he go?" Gobber asked as I answered him. "The Great Hall. I met people like him before and they always loved the attention. What better place to get the attention but the Great Hall itself?"
We followed Tyse's advice and looked into the Great Hall seeing Fishlegs telling stories to the surrounding village. "So there I was, Thor Bonecrusher, perched on an inferior dragon," "Fishlegs?" Meatlug groaned sadly making me frown. "As we approached the vicious Scauldron, faster than Odin on his eight-legged horse." "You could have Hookfang next time. He's a Monstrous Nightmare, scariest dragon of all." Snotlout offered. "Monstrous Nightmare? Sounds like my post-mutton trip to the outhouse." Everyone laughed except me and the others. Embarrassed, Snotlout laughs nervously. "Good one." He says before Hookfang snarls at him.
I walked over with Gobber, Tyse next to Meatlug and see her sadden without her saddle on. "Poor Meatlug. Wouldn't even wear her saddle. Look at her. So lonely. We've got to do something with her." Gobber says as Tyse rubs her hand to Meatlug's head. "I will take care of her. You'll focus on getting Fishlegs back." She says before focusing her attention on Meatlug's well being. "My chances of survival were slim. I only had one option." Fishlegs continues. "Ah, ooh, oh, oh! Fly away?" One villager suggested but that was turned down with a glare. "I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that." "Sorry." The villager apologizes. "No, I had something very special in store for that Scauldron." Fishlegs then told that he stood on Meatlug fearlessly facing the Scauldron, while me and the other dragon riders cowered on Toothless's back. Fishlegs charges the Scauldron and jumps for a downward swing, destroying a table in the process.
"He narrowly escaped. However, next time, victory shall be mine!" Fishlegs exclaimed as everyone cheers. "Put me in your next story! Just as the background. But please?" Snotlout asked before my dad walks in. Oh boy. "Fishlegs! Is that my axe!?" My Dad asked as the villagers look at him in fear. "Oh, he's got his axe." They realized muttering and back off between Fishlegs and Stoick. "Uh, Dad, that's not Fishlegs Fishlegs." I stuttered in the end trying to explain what was happening. "Don't be daft. I'm looking right at him, holding my axe, by the way." Dad says pointing at Fishlegs. "Ah, you must be Stoick the Vast-ly overrated." Fighlegs says threatenly holding the axe as it shines. Oh boy. "What did you call me? What did he call me?" He says turning to me irritated. "That's what I'm trying to tell you. He's not himself." I tried to explain. "Give me back my axe!" Dad demanded. "Don't you mean my axe?" Fishlegs challenged
Dad snarled and crushes his fist in anger. "He was just polishing it for you, Chief." Gobber says, trying to ease Dad's anger. "Let me handle this. I will get your axe back to you, I promise." I added. Fine, but make it quick, or I'll take it from him myself." Dad growled threatenly before Gobber led him away. "Chief, let's get out of here. How about a nice piece of mutton?"
We were back at Gothi's and watched as Gothi made a potion for Fishlegs. "I hope this won't take long, sorceress. I like to nap after a feast of wild boar and mead." Fishlegs says sitting on the chair. "Thanks, Gothi, we really need Fishlegs back." I said as Tyse nods. "Yes, please get rid of Thor Bonecrusher so I won't skin him and hang him off a branch." We looked at Tyse disturbingly before she noticed. "What? You think I'm joking? What do you think these curved blades of mine are for? Entertainment?" She says showing one of her black blades.
Suddenly Gothi shoves her potion into Fishlegs mouth and he reacts badly to it and starts vomiting into a barrel. "Ugh! What was in that potion?" Astrid asks as my brother crawls near her and my feet. Gothi writes in the ground and Gobber translates. "It wasn't a potion. Just spiced yak bladder. She says that'll teach him to break her staff." Gobber says as Gothi smirked evilly. Fishlegs pulls out of the barrel and pants. "Not the most delicate delicacy." He says, wiping his mouth. "What about getting Fishlegs back?" Astrid asks as my brother jumps on her shoulder. Gothi writes and Gobber translates. "She can't re-hypnotize him without her staff." "Which Thor broke." Tyse added with a blank look.
"Great, now what?" Astrid asked before giggling when Matt licked her cheek. I turned to Tyse. "How much longer does Matt need to get back to normal?" I asked as Tyse rubs her chin. "Who's to say? It could be a day or a week at the most. Worst case would be a month. Unless something snaps him out of it. Like fear for example." Tyse says as Gothi writes. "Tyse is right. Fear. Only a true feeling of terror will shock both Fislegs and Matt back to normal." Gobber translates. "But Mr. Thor Bonecrusher over here isn't afraid of anything." Astrid says before Fishlegs put his hand on Astrid's shoulder. "Truer words were never spoken, my fair Viking lady." He says before Astrid groans in disgust. Fishlegs claps his hands together and walks away. "Now, where is that snotty fellow? We have business to discuss." "Hiccup, you may want to swing by the old homestead. Your father is in bit of a…" Gobber pauses for a moment for the right word. "...state." I looked at Tyse in confusion. "Don't look at me. I have nothing to do with anything." She says with a bright smile before cooing at Matt.
I follow Hiccup and Toothless to their home and honestly, I thought his home would be a bit bigger with his father being leader and all. We landed and walked to the door before hearing A man's voice yelling, "Get this dragon off me!" 'That must be Stoick, Hiccup's father.' I thought to myself as we went inside to find Meatlug licking his face. 'Wow, Hiccup's father is big. He must of got most of his traits from his mother.' I thought while looking amused of the Viking getting licked to death. "Dad, she's just lonely." Hiccup says as I giggled. Stoick was not laughing the slightest though. "If she doesn't get off me, we'll be having Gronckle for breakfast." Stoick threatened as I burst out laughing at how funny this is to me. "We need to get Fishlegs back before this gets any worse." Hiccup explains as I stop laughing and scowl at the thought of Thor. Scaleless eal-eater. "Hiccup!" We heard Astrid and turned to find Astrid running inside.
"Let me guess. It's Thor." Hiccup guessed. "You think?" I snorted as Astrid replies. "Yeah, and Snotlout. And you're not gonna believe where they're headed." I groaned tiredly before freezing in realization. "Astrid?" Hiccup and Astrid turned to me. "Where's Nightshift?" I asked worriedly, concern in my eyes. Astrid's eyes change to anger as she growls. "Those idiots grabbed him from my arms saying that they needed a 'witness' for their ultimate battle! Don't they realize that's he vulnerable right now!?" She yells. "Oh for the love of Thor!" "WHAT!?" Hiccup exclaims facepalming as I screeched at the same time. 'Thor! By the time I get there, I will put your head on my wall alongside the rest of my trophies! And Snotlout! You will be my experimental plaything!' 'Tyse-' 'SHUT YOUR MOUTH REGHI!'
"Ohh! Can't this overgrown lizard fly any faster?" My idol, Thor Bonecrusher, growls out of impatience. I laughed nervously before glaring at my dragon, Hookfang. "Come on, Hookfang, you're embarrassing me." I said as Hookfang snorts. I heard a cry and turned to see Matt doing it. "Shut up, Matt!" I yelled. He stopped and glared at me before biting my nose and holding on. "OW OW OW!" I yelled in pain trying to get him off. I heard Hookfang laughing as if he thought this was funny! "Onward, Snot-man. We must find a dragon worthy of my command. My destiny awaits." Thor ordered as I continued screaming in pain trying to get Matt to let go of my nose! Stupid baby dragon shifter!
"Bonecrusher is going after the Scauldron! Bonecrusher is going after the Scauldron!" One of the Vikings exclaimed. "Oh, he's going to tame the Scauldron!" Another says in awe. "He's gonna get killed by the Scauldron." Hiccup says while running to Toothless. "Not after I kill him and Snotlout first!" I screeched before jumping into the air and turning my body into a swarm of Night Terrors and flew off following Hiccup and the rest of the gang, leaving Meatlug behind. I'm sure she'll follow.
We approached where the Sculdron might be located but we can see that a storm is brewing ahead. "They have to be down there somewhere. What was Snotlout thinking?" Hiccup asked us as I and the rest of my swarm snorted. "He wasn't." Astrid says before starting baby talking. "He's in love. He'd do anything for his big hunk of bone-crushing love." My swarm and I laughed. "Well, we'd better find them before they find the Scauldron." Hiccup says as we haste our flight.
"Just think, Snotlout, at any moment, the giant beast will emerge from the water and I will tame him. Or he'll kill you and the baby." Thor said with a smirk as I smiled nervously and Matt whimpered. "Ha! You're funny, TB. Ha ha ha! Listen, let me throw something out there. What if we… I don't know… head back, call it a day, relax at the Great Hall, tell some more really cool stories. You know, I've heard that a Scauldron's hot water blast can rip the scales off a Screaming Death." I said, trying to tell Thor to turn back since I don't feel like dying today. Maybe I shouldn't have brought Matt with us. Knowing Astrid she already wants my head for taking him.
"What gutless fool told you that? Thor says not amused and slamming the axe handle on my helmet making me grunt. "Nonsense. Thor Bonecrusher cannot return to Berk dragon-less. Negative, Snot-man. I am not leaving these waters without my prize." Thor says with determined and stubborn eyes. Suddenly the water in front of us exploded as the Sculdron were looking for rises in front of us roaring. As I gulped while Thor smirks. "Aha! Time to engage my quarry. Dive, dragon, dive!" Thor orders forcing me and Hookfang to dive as I screamed with Matt holding onto my back. "Aah! My super-Viking's gone rogue!" I yelled as Matt screeched in fear. "Fire!" Thor yelled and stomped on Hookfang, forcing him to spew flames out to the Scauldron. Most of the flames missed but the last one struck it on the face making it growl. "Okay, that ought to do it, right, TB?" I asked before Thor suddenly jumped off Hookfang and towards the Sculdron, dodging the water blast in the process. The blast however made Hookfang jerked me and Matt off and into the waters below. We screamed before falling into the sea.
We finally arrived only to find Thor manhandling the Sculdron. "There they are! Come on!" Hiccup ordered as we flew after them. I watched Thor trying to force the Scauldron to yield only to release the axe in the process and into the water. "Well Stoick won't like that." I said to one of my replicas as she nodded before I noticed Snotlout in the water. Astrid noticed it too and told the others. "Snotlout's in the water!" Then her eyes became fearful. "And I can't see Matt anywhere!" My eyes widen and I erratically searched the waters for any sign of Nightshift. "You guys grab them. I'll go after Fishlegs." Hiccup says as his and Toothless's eyes show concern and fear for Nightshift's wellbeing. "Go find Snotlout! I'll find Nightshift! Girls scatter!" I commanded as my swarm split up to find Nightshift. Most of them looked above while some even went into the waters for seeing any sign of Nightshift. My breath hitched. Looking through the many eyes of my soul there was still no sign of him! What if he already drowned!?
Suddenly, I hear a faint cry. I gasped and looked the part of the water I haven't searched yet. I flew as fast as I can looked around before gasping. Nightshift was holding onto a piece of wood and he was losing it! The rain and water of the ocean made it difficult for Nightshift to hold on even with his claws. He cried one last time before his body disappeared within the water. "NO!" I screamed in terror and dived down to save him. The ocean's salty water stung my eyes, the cold made my scales shiver. I looked around erratically before finally spotting him going deeper into the deep. I swam with my wings and feet and reached him but fear deepened when the only thing I see in his eyes was nothing but blankness. My fear skyrocketed and with a pushed of my wings I zoomed to the surface.
My body broke out of the ocean and next to Astrid causing her to yelp in shock. "Tyse!" She yelled with a glare before paling at the sight of the unresponsive Shifter. I quickly handed Nightshift to her and she was shaking. "No no no no! Matt! Wake up! Please Wake up!" Astrid cried as she holds Nightshift in her arms tightly. "W-What happened!? I-Is Matt alright!?" I heard and see the real Fishlegs back to normal with his face concerned for Nightshift's wellbeing. I shook my head with tears. His face paled as he covered his mouth in horror. The twins were deathly silent and shaking their heads like they couldn't believe this was happening. Snotlout looked guilty and tried to speak but was greatly cut off. "I SWEAR SNOTLOUT! IF MATT DOESN'T COME BACK I WILL KILL YOU! YOU HEAR ME!? I WILL RIP YOUR ARMS OFF AND FEED YOU TO A SCREAMING DEATH!" Astrid screamed glaring tearing daggers into Snotlout's eyes as I coldly looked at him with no emotion. Snotlout stayed quiet while Hiccup went closer to Astrid and took Nightshift from her. "Me and Toothless will quickly get back to Berk in hopes that we can save him in time! Come on bud!" Hiccup said urgently to the Night fury. "You got it! Just hang in there brother!" Toothless roared and flew as fast as I had ever seen before.
I looked down at the Scauldron trapped in the net looking guilty and ashamed. All dragons respected the Shifters both for their power and compassion to dragons. A Shifter's death can cause even the most aggressive of dragons to mourn for their death, they can even stop some conflicts temporarily. For example, when dragons fight for the right to mate both the challenger and defender will stop fighting and mourn for days in sadness of the shifter dying. But if a shifter dies because of another dragon, purposefully or not, many will attack that same dragon for revenge for that shifters death. Some don't even survive the encounter. I raised my hand to the Scauldron's snout and he leaned to it, looking for compassion and comfort knowing what he caused. "It wasn't your fault young Scauldron. The only one to blame is the idiots that came after you, although one was hypnotized to be a different person, so he isn't to blame, only the one that brought the Shifter in the process. He will survive, I hope. Only our goddess, Noctis, shall bring him back to living again. May her Wings guide you and her flames warm you, my friend." I said as the Scauldron coos in my hand. 'Please be alright, Nightshift.'
I groggily woke up and opened my eyes only to find myself on a cloud. "What the hel?" I say in confusion and looked around to find a beautiful golden city full of dragons. My eyes widen in awe as I see many dragons fly through the air and hatchlings running around chasing each other. 'There must be millions of dragons here!' I thought to myself. "Actually there are as many as the stars itself." I heard behind me. I turned to find the white scaled, featherly winged, blue crystal covered, forested green eye fury herself, Noctis. "It has been sometime, my child." The Dragon Goddess said in a motherly tone. "N-Noctis! Y-Your holiness!" I stuttered with a bow. My bond-brother and the rest of the dragons made sure that I remember the history of dragons including how we were created by Noctis. "Enough with the holiness, my child. I am just known as Noctis or Mother, understood." She says with a motherly smile. "Y-Yes, N-Noctis. W-Where am I? What is this place?" I asked, looking around.
Noctis smiled and walked towards the end of the clouds, gesturing to me to follow her. I quickly skipped to her, coming next to her before she told me to sit. Me and her sit and watched the dragons flew into the sky. "This is my realm. The Realm of Dragons. Paradise. This was where I first created my children right in that temple you see in front of you." Noctis explained pointing with her snout and I see a beautiful temple covered in diamonds and gems. "This is also where dragons go when they die." My eyes widen and my breath hitched as I looked at her. "I-I'm… dead?" I asked. She smiles, shaking her head before looking at me. "No. Not yet. Your time hasn't come yet. You still have many centuries to enjoy and as my future champion I expect you will continue living for me." I looked at her in shock causing her to laugh. I shook my head to clear my head before focusing on what questions I wanted to ask her. "If I'm not dead then why am I here?" "To see a glimpse of what there is to come. You were curious where dragons go to die when their time is over. This is it." Noctis said with a smile. "What about the bad dragons? Those that abuse their power or do bad things like the Dark Shifters. Where do they go when they die?" I asked as her warm motherly aura changed to a sadden and slightly emotionless look. "They go to the Realm of Curses. A dark place where only the darkest and evilest of dragons go to suffer for the sins they have caused. It was once governed by my brother Cronyx, but now its duties go to my dear friend, Death and his daughter, Hel. Yes the Viking gods are real but some stories aren't true like Loki being Hel's father. That's just a prank that Loki did to try the other gods and goddesses, like myself, believing he was the father. Guess it somehow reached the mortal realm and that started the story of Hel being his daughter. That was a good humorous day." Her eyes shined as she recalled the day.
"Who is Cronyx?" I asked, causing her to look at me suddenly. "As I said before, he was my brother. When we were first created, we were inseparable. I was mercy, compassion, and knowledge. While he was justice, order, and light." She smiled in memory before frowning. "But one day, our children were attacked by humans and gods that were jealous of us. They killed so many. They didn't even care for the youngest of them. Cronyx was enraged and gathered those that supported him for war. I didn't support him and told him that violence wasn't the answer. We argued until Cronyx had enough and slapped me telling me that I was weak for not protecting my children. He ran off after that." Noctis said seemed to rub her cheek before continuing her story.
"Many humans and dragons died that day. Cronyx even used the darkest of his powers to kill his enemies. I seen him used them before but he used it differently then. That day he enjoyed watching his enemy die in his hand. He enjoyed the blood dripping from their wounds. And he enjoyed killing their families along with the children. That decision itself made me intervene. I told Cronyx to stop but he would not listen, he told me that the humans deserve to die and the rest our slaves. In the beginning, the dragons supported Cronyx in his 'rightful' goal but his actions made most of them fear him and for his victims. Some dragons even saved human families from his wrath. In the battle, Most of the dragons supported me for my compassion and mercy while the rest sided with Cronyx's dark and evil acts of vengeance and bloodshed. We fought and many died that day until I finally had the upper hand and struck him down. But I couldn't kill him. He was still my brother." Noctis said as a tear fell from her eye. I look at her in sadness. A sibling should never kill a sibling.
"Instead I banished him and his followers from the Realm of Dragons and into the mortal world forever. You asked me who Cronyx is? Cronyx is the Dark Dragon God of Blood, Curses and Darkness. His evil has no reign and one day you must fight him to both protect the humans and dragons alike." She said as we look upon the sun, or the equivalent of what the sun looks like here.
I tried to speak about how sorry I was but I didn't want to make Noctis feel any worse. So instead I asked another question to get off the subject. "You said that you were 'created', what did you mean by that?" I asked with a bit of confusion. Noctis' eyes widened a bit before looking at me. "Well, there was a theory me and the other gods and goddesses made. We believe that there was a higher being that created each of us for them to observe and what would we do with our godly abilities. Of course this theory was never proven, until a selected few started having visions of traveling through multiple universes. Some humans call it the Multiverse." I looked at her gobsmacked. 'Multiple universes! Wow!' "I was one of those select few that gained this ability and along with more power. There are three types of gods in the power spectrum. The first is the normal god with amazing abilities of life and creation, common in all gods. The second is the gods able to travel through the Multiverse and have the authority to create life there but there are a few limits on what to create. Like something… or someone limited our powers. That goes to the third type, and only one can become it, which we believe is the being that created me and the other gods. We called them, 'Creator' or 'Maker'. There was a third name we gave them but it didn't fit their description." Noctis explained.
I was beyond shock. I mean who wouldn't be knowing what Noctis explained. The gods are real! Of course, I was raised into it but still this is beyond what I imagined. And to learn that their was another god that created the other gods and to travel through different universes. I was so shocked that I think I tinkled a little bit. I SAID I THINK, NOT THAT I DID! I turned back to Noctis to ask another question. "Why did you call me your future champion?" I asked with a hint of curiosity. Noctis smiled as the light around us get brighter. "I'm afraid I cannot tell you quite yet. You must find the answer yourself. Just know that you're meant for great things. Good bye, my child. Until we meet again." Noctis said with a smile before the light consumed everything.
The sun shined on my face before I yawned and smacked my lips together. I got up with a crack of my spine and opened my eyes only to find Hiccup, Astrid and the rest of my friends looking at me in shock. I looked behind me to see if anyone was there but no one. I looked back at them and blinked. "Did Gothi's hypnosis work?" I asked innocently not knowing what happened the past day. Suddenly I was pulled into a group hug with everybody squeezing me to death, mainly Astrid. "MATT, YOUR OK!" She said, squeezing me tighter. "AIR, YOU IDIOTS! I NEED AIR!" I screeched trying to breathe. Everybody let me go and swatted my normal clothes for being wrinkled. "Now what in Noctis's name happened after Gothi knocked me and Fishlegs out?" I asked, wondering what happened during my time. Hiccup explained to me that after Gothi knocked me and Fishlegs out, Snotlout had a 'brilliant', note my sarcasm, idea to turn Fishlegs into a godly viking and me into a baby. Fishlegs looked sheepish as Astrid told me that Fishlegs or Thor Bonecrusher, who sounds to me that has a bigger ego than Snotlout, did these things and also went against Stoick. I laughed at the ridiculousness that Snotlout forced Fishlegs into before I scowled at the end of the story.
"So let me get this straight." I said with a growl. "You're telling me that my and Fishlegs allergies and trouble we caused in the process was because of Gobber's EAR WAX!" I roared causing everyone's hair to fly back. "Yes?" Hiccup stuttered before I turned my glare on Snotlout. "AND YOU!" Snotlout jumped back as I lumber to him in rage. "YOU TURNED ME INTO A HATCHLING AND FISHLEGS INTO SOMEONE HE'S NOT! BUT DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE WORSE IS!? THE WORSE IS THAT YOU MADE ASTRID CRY! NO ONE MAKES MY SISTER CRY!" I roared as Snotlout screams loudly and runs away with me behind him in night fury form. "COME HERE, EEL EATER!" I roared in fury.
"Should we stop him?" Fishlegs asks, terrified of my rage. "Nay, Fishlegs. For the show must go on!" Tuffnut exclaims dramatically. "Let his rage be a lesson to those that crosses him!" Ruffnut adds just as dramatically. Hiccup turns to Astrid sternly and she turns to him. "What? Oh don't worry. Matt won't kill him. He's just going to… injure him a little." Astrid chuckled as she watched me pumble Snotlout. "Can I have a turn, Nightshift!? I want to test my new blades on some human flesh!" Tyse laughed psychotically pulling out her blades as the dragons stepped back in fear. "Oh don't be a bunch of scaleless reptiles. I'm not gonna kill him. I'm a sadist, not a murderous psychopath. I only do that to my enemies." She laughed again before turning to my beating. "Shifters are scary." Stormfly squawked. "As long as we are out of sight of her rage we should be fine. Can't say about her victims though." Toothless crooned as everybody continued watching me beating Snotlout.
