Pain. So much pain. It was more painful than the arrow in the chest. It was more painful getting electrocuted by a Skrill. It was more painful getting ear raped by three thunderdrum hatchlings. The point is that is the most painful feeling I felt. I felt I was dying over and over and over again for years. Who knew that a single dark purple beam with black electricity sparking around it would feel so much pain?
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed out my lungs as Dagur laughs madly. "HAHAHAHA! Look at him! A weapon we have never seen before is causing that! Is this a Shifter weapon? Is this weapon built for Shifters!? I don't know but I love it! Hahahaha! I'm definitely keeping this! Whoa!" Dagur dodges multiple spines from Sharlene. Sharlene makes a roar of anger as she lands on his ship and sprouts out her wrist blades "Do you have any idea what you have done?! You have no idea what forces you are dealing with, human!"
Sharlene charges and attacks, causing Dagur to turn the weapon and direct the beam towards her in a panic. Sharlene gasps and flips away, dodging the beam and letting it hit one of the Berserkers pulling Windshere. The Berserker soldier screams in pain for a second before his skin melt, then his muscle, bones, organs until there is nothing left but ash. The area was quiet for a moment before Dagur spoke excitedly. "Wow. Hehehe! I love this thing! The destruction! The carnage! HAHAHA!" Dagur chuckles madly before the glow in the middle of the weapon sparks and shuts down, shutting down the beam. "Uh… that's unexpected." Dagur says nervously as Sharlene glares at him.
Back in the air, when the beam was moved I stopped hovering and the pain stopped, but I was too weak to move. I felt myself fall hearing the voice of Heather and Windshear calling me. I was about to hit the water when suddenly I felt myself get caught. "I got you brother!" I heard as I slowly opened my eyes. Toothless appeared in my blurry vision as he smiles happily. "Don't worry, Nightshift! We'll handle this!" He purred with a toothless smile. I put up a small smile before I became unconscious.
"Well, look who the dragon flew in! Glad you could join us, brother! It wouldn't feel like a family reunion without you and Matt. Now, take out that Night Fury!" Dagur yelled out before dodging to the side to avoid a swipe from Sharlene. "And someone take this thing down!" He yelped, avoiding another swipe from my blade. "I'm impressed you survived this long. How long will you last, madman?" I asked coldly, going for another swipe making him scream. He has hurt my future King with a forbidden weapon and deserves punishment! He will die a thousand deaths!
I felt two pricks hit my back and looked behind my back to find two of the madman's men holding two broken spears as they looked fearfully at me. Apparently they tried to stab me, but my metal scales broke their flimsy spears from penetrating me. I simply raised my tail, spiked it up and swiped at them, cutting the two in half. I turned back to my target, raised my left arm out and fired my wrist blade. The blade penetrates his shoulder and pins him to the front of the ship. "Ah! Dang that hurts!" He growls before paling as I stomp towards him. He tried pulling the blade out erratically before I reached his location with a newly regenerated wrist blade. "Ready for your death?" I asked as I raised my weapon in the air to slay him. This is for Heather you eal-eater.
Dagur paled even further as I was about to strike him down only to notice that Hiccup and Toothless weren't able to free Heather from the chains. "The winches, bud! It's the only thing that's not dragon proof!" Hiccup calls out. "Got it!" Toothless roared and tries to shoot one of the winches only to dodge from multiple chains and arrows. 'They need help and fast.' My spirit told me as I looked down at Dagur in contempt before sheathing my wrist blade. "Consider yourself lucky to live another day." I said coldly before turning around and running towards the nearest winch.
Many of the madman's men tried to stop me but a simple swipe from the tail, cut them all in half. I approached the winch and destroyed it with a swipe of my wrist blade causing the chain to loosen on Heather and Windshear. I jumped onto another boat and did the same thing loosening the trap Heather was in before I got stabbed in the side. I didn't flinch because the blade didn't even pierced me and I made quick work of the Berserker by smacking him off the ship with a high kick to the chest. The commotion I caused gave Hiccup and Toothless the chance to finish the rest of the winches and allowing Heather and Winshear to go free.
I noticed I was surrounded and sighed in boredom. "You wish to join the rest of your dead friends? Very well." I say as I lift up my arm and squeeze. Nothing seemed to happen and they laughed but unknown to them I was manipulating the metal they wear to do my bidding. I squeezed my fist harder and one of the hunters hold their chest in pain and coughs out blood. I squeezed even harder and soon the sound of twisted metal and broken bones is heard until… SNAP! The hunters' bodies fell in unison as I barely blinked. "Should have just run when you had the chance." I whispered before turning into my Razorwhip form and flew towards the others.
"You can't take on Dagur and his fleet all by yourself." Hiccup told Heather. "I'm not by myself. I have Windshear, Sharlene and Matt." She argues, but when she glanced at Nightshift she had a worried expression. I took a glance at my future King and cursed. He looks deathly ill and I can feel the Black Flame residing within him. He needs help from the other Shifters. We dodged a chain shot (Don't know what they're actually called) and separated for a bit before reuniting again. "I'm too close. I might not get this shot again." Heather justifies in anger at Hiccup as I looked at her. "But this is suicide!" Hiccup yells in disbelief. "I'm willing to do whatever it takes." Heather says, not moved. "Are you willing to sacrifice my sister, too?" I asked her causing Heather to look away. "Nightshift has already been hurt by this mission. That was my fault, yes, but I did not know we would expect this. We must get back to Dragon's Edge soon. If we don't… he will die or worse, be corrupted by the Black Flame inside him." I revealed causing Toothless and Winshear to freeze in horror as Hiccup and Heather pale.
Heather looks down and sighs before glancing at Nightshift who remains unconscious. "There will be another time, Heather. I promise, we will get your revenge. But please, for Nightshift's sake." I pleaded softly. She groans in frustration and follows Hiccup and Toothless as I follow behind her. We were safe, but at what cost?
It was a couple of hours after the ambush. I glanced, worried at Heather as she didn't seem like to talk while Sharlene had an emotionless face on her, but I could see the worried glances towards Matt. Matt was deathly ill and I couldn't do anything about it. Toothless crooned in worry, seeing him still knocked out before paying attention to the front again. We stayed silent and continued flying before Heather starts speaking. "Blasting the winches, pretty smart." She suddenly complements as I smiled. "Yeah, and a little luck never hurts either." I said smiling. Heather smiles back before frowning and looking away again, still upset. "I talked to Johann. He told me Dagur wiped out your village… and your family. I'm sorry." I said sincerely. "Then you know why he has to pay." Sharlene spoke up in her Razorwhip form. "His crimes deserve punishment, moreso after what he did to Nightshift and using a forbidden weapon. I should have destroyed it before leaving." She growled as her tail spikes up in anger before flattening again.
I flew Toothless closer to the two and spoke to them. "You don't have to do this alone." I said softly. "I don't know." Heather spoke uncertainty. "It seems like I'm destined to be alone. First, when I was a little girl, I got separated from my birth family." Heather revealed surprising me. Her parents we met when we saved them from Alvin were her adopted parents? "Your birth family?" I said in surprise as Sharlene nodded. "Yes, but she doesn't remember them much." Sharlene growls but their was a sadness to it as Heather reached out to pat her neck.
"It was so long ago. Just a few pictures in my mind. I remember my father's hands. They were rough, like sandstone, but so gentle. And I remember the smell of his wooden shield. I don't think I was supposed to play with it, but he let me anyway. And this." Heather pulls out her horn and lets us see it. "He gave me this horn. I don't know if it means something, but whatever I look at it, I think of him. I just wish I knew who he was." Heather replies as she puts it away to her side and clips it on. Toothless and I glanced at each other in sadness as we continued to fly back to Dragon's Edge.
Once we landed back on the island my human friends went back inside while Sharlene took my brother to heal and cure him. I looked worried seeing him so sick with that… disease. Sire told me the story of the Black Flame and how it corrupts even the most purest of dragons if it isn't treated in time.
I must have blanked out because when I got back to focus I finally began to notice my friends surrounding the new dragon, Windshear. "Hey! Stop crowding her!" I roared an order causing them to back away. "Sorry Toothless. I suppose we're curious about young Heather's new friend." Meatlug apologized. "It's fine. Just please give her space. We're not hatchlings after all." I crooned as I walked up to Windshear. "Thanks, I guess." She rudely stated. "No problem." I ignored her rudeness since she had a tough day.
"We haven't properly met. Names Toothless." I purred. "Windshear… you're that Shifter's brother, right? He didn't look too good." She crooned as I purred in worry. "Yeah. Hopefully the other Shifters can fix him. Goddess, his screams… I will have nightmares about it." "What if he becomes a Dark Shifter?" Windshear asked, making me snarl at her in anger. "He won't! Nightshift is strong. He was able to resist the Red Death and this won't be any different." "You do realize that the Black Flame is the essence of Cron-" "WE. DO. NOT. SPEAK. HIS. NAME." I stopped her growling. It is forbidden to speak the name of the dark god and I don't feel like having any misfortunes.
"Okay! Jeez! And I thought the most religious dragons were crazy." She mumbled but I heard her clearly as my eye twitched. "Religious dragons? We all worship the same goddess, Windshear!" I growled causing her to scoff. "Then where is she if she is so compassionate? Why do humans harm us and kill us and she just watches us suffer? I believe that Cro… HE exists because of his corruption but Noctis? She doesn't exist." She retorts as I snarl. HOW DARE SHE TREAT OUR HOLY MOTHER LIKE THIS! "How dare you." I snarled as she whips out her tail blades. We were about to fight but…
"That's enough!" Tyse popped between us with a snarl showing her yellow eyes. We stepped back in instinct fearing that we would anger her. "Do not start a fight. We are all having a bad day. For me, I just found out that Nightshift was afflicted by the Black Flame but you don't see me killing Sharlene over it." Tyse growled as I defended myself. "This hatchling insulted our holy mother!" I growled as Tyse looks at me with narrow eyes. "Noctis speaks that her children doesn't have to worship her. She gives us the choice to either know of her and respect her or completely ignore her. We can't force other dragons to respect Noctis. If we do, it will bring shame to our goddess." Tyse preaches as I look down in shame. Tyse then turned to Windshear. "As for you? You got lucky. A more deeply religious dragon would just attack and kill you for even speaking a single insult to Noctis. Keep your beliefs to yourself or you'll find yourself dead one of these days." Windshear simply looks away causing me to growl. "Toothless. A word." Tyse walks to the otherside of the deck as I follow her.
"I understand your angry, but please control yourself. We don't want any dragon fights." Tyse scolded as I nod hesitancy. "Yes, Tyse." "Good. Now there is good news and bad news about Nightshift." I stared at her in worry. Good news is good but I do not like the bad news. "What's the good news?" I ask, wanting to know if he's alright. "The good news is that he is stable and alright. He's just resting." I sighed in relief before realizing that she still has bad news. "And the bad news?" "While we got to him in time, the Black Flame was able to merge with his soul. For the rest of his life, he will have the Black Flame inside of him." I paled in horror knowing what happens with those in the Black Flame inside them. Nothing good ever comes of it. "He is more likely to become more violent and angry at times when a certain situation occurs, but I'm sure that if we keep an eye on him nothing dramatic will happen. We can only pray to our goddess that this won't change anything."
Nightshift. Brother. Please be alright. Be strong.
"Look, I'm sorry I locked up your dragons. I just didn't trust that you guys would let me go after Dagur." Heather speaks as the Twins nod to each other. "Trust does need to be earned with people and dragons." Fishlegs says in understanding. "Thanks for understanding, Fishlegs." Heather smiles making Fishlegs giggle. "I don't really trust these guys either, Heather." Snotlout says trying to be thoughtful, making us glare at him. "You know, we can hear you." Astrid groans. "Jealousy is an ugly quality, Astrid. But clearly, I understand where it comes from." Snotlout smiles, causing Astrid to look at him in disgust.
"The point is, we have your back, Heather. You're one of us." I said in support. "Yeah, I stocked Windshear's stable with buckets of sea slugs." Fishlegs said as Snotlout groans at him. "And I made room for you in my hut." He says, making me cross my arms. "And I've made it clear to Snotlout that you're not staying in his hut." My response made Snotlout looks away while crossing his arms in annoyance. "Even though you were the rogue dragon rider and you sabotaged our dragons and you snuck away in the the dark of the night and then got Matt got hurt by a dark weird thing. Wait a minute, why do we like you again?" Tuffnut demanded. "I'm truly sorry, Tuffnut." Heather sincerely apologized making him stagger back in surprise. "Whoa! That was… sincere. What am I supposed to do with that?" Tuffnut then starts to breathe heavily from what I'm guessing is shock. I'm a little bit flushed and overwhelmed. Little help here? People!?" "Ugh! Help yourself!" His twin says in annoyance.
"And if you need any help with Windshear-" Fishlegs was interrupted by Snotlout. "Why don't I show you around the Edge? I'm basically chief." Snotlout boasts. I glared at the two as they start to surround Heather. "Thanks, guys, really. I-" Heather tries to back away in nervousness but she was boxed in. "Hey, glad you're back. Your dragon rocks." Ruffnut comments creepily but luckily Astrid saves her by pulling her away. "Let's go have some girl time." Astrid says. "Good idea." Heather agrees as the two girls walked away. While they are away I'm going to see Matt to see how he's doing.
With both of my arms I threw the two axes they hit both of the targets, although I did scare one of the Night Terrors away. 'I'm going to get a scolding from Tyse soon.' I mentally thought before turning to Heather. "Two axes are better than one!" I replied. "True. Unless you have one of these." Heather pulls out her axe and unfolds it, spinning it multiple times before throwing it like a boomerang, spinning before it hits the target on the right. That's an awesome weapon. "You really have to show me how you made that." I said impressed. "Sharlene was the one that made it for me but I made a few improvements to it, but I prefer close combat to throwing…" Heather strikes a nearby tree, digging into the bark and leaving it there. "So I can stare my enemy in the eye. That's Sharlene's best tactic." She said making me smirk in approval. "Not a bad tactic." I take the axe out of the tree. "But don't discount… Hyah!" I grunt as I throw the axe behind her, hitting the tree. "Hmm… The element of surprise. I like that." Heather says. "It's one of Hiccup and Matt's favorite tactics. Though Matt likes the more direct approach." I say in the end sadly, thinking of him.
Heather noticed my sudden change of attitude and look down in guilt. "Astrid… I'm sorry that Matt got hurt because of me. I know how you two are close to each other." Heather apologizes sincerely as I sighed. "It's not your fault. We never knew that Dagur had a weapon that hurt Shifters. If we knew… it doesn't matter. What matters is that Matt is alright. I just hope that he'll wake up soon." I said, hoping as I picked up an axe to throw at one of the targets.
Heather then changed to an subject that made me forget about Matt. "So, you and Hiccup are a thing, right?" I widen my eyes as I completely missed the target and hitting the top of a tree with a Night terror sitting on one of the branches, scaring it. "What? No, just friends." I replied as a small blush formed on my cheeks. "Come on." Heather teased, hitting a bullseye with an axe. "I've seen the way you two are together." "No. Seriously. Friends." I gestured, separating my hands to say that me and Hiccup aren't together. Heather smirks in amusement and replies. "He's kind of cute." "I guess. If you like that unassuming, heroic, dragon rider type." I say, throwing another axe and hitting the target this time. 'Give it a rest Heather, please.'
Heather throws another axe and hits the target right in the middle. "Bullseye." Heather smirks as I then had an idea to tease her with. "Now, you and Snotlout, that's a match made in Valhalla." We both laughed at that. Heather and Snotlout? As if that will happen. "I don't know whether to thank you or feel sorry for you." "I can handle Snotlout." Heather says with a chuckle. "And besides, I'm not into the macho Viking type. I like a little smarts. Like Fishlegs or Matt."
Those two names made me look at her in shock. "Fishlegs and Matt? Seriously?" I asked. Am I hearing this right? Does Heather admire Matt? "What? I think Fishlegs is funny and cute." She admits. "We're talking about Fishlegs, right? The guy with the Gronckle?" I asked making her chuckle. "And what of Matt? You do realize he has a vendetta against you, right?" I asked wanting to know her reason. "I know, but it was for the right reason. I betrayed him and I deserve it. As for why I like him? He's sweet, caring, always protecting his loved ones. He's funny and makes jokes to lighten the mood. He's serious when he needs to be and maybe the most powerful in the archipelago. Not to mention he's quite handsome." She explained with a light blush making me want to tease her more. "Wow. Is that a crush I'm hearing from your lips?" I teased making her blush more. "Okay, all right. Enough boy talk. What else do you do for fun around here?"
Me and Heather were running laughing towards a cliff before jumping off. This would be very dangerous but luckily we have our dragons in case something happens. I land on Stormfly's tail and held on with a smile. That smile dropped when Heather missed Windshear's tail. Heather screamed and was about to hit the rocks below, but she was caught. "Thanks, Windshear." Heather sighs in relief and looks up before giggling nervously. It wasn't Windshear that caught her but Sharlene in her Shifter form, but this time with wings on her back keeping her in the air. I didn't know Shifters could fly without their dragon forms. "I see you're having fun. Jumping off cliffs and making a bloody mess of yourself on the rocks below? I'm glad I interrupted your play time." She says coldly but there was mirth in her eyes, meaning she doesn't mean it.
Sharlene places Heather back on Windshear's back before whispering something to her. Heather looked at her in surprised before nodding. "Want to go two out of three?" I asked causing Heather to chuckle. "No. Me and Sharlene want to show you something. If you can keep up." Her and Sharlene flew away. "Get 'em, Stormfly!" I said as my dragon followed them.
I coughed loudly, groaning in pain before looking at Hiccup. "So I have the Black Flame inside me? That's great. I can already hear the voices now in my head. Oh wait, that's Wolf." I joked before coughing again. "Ha ha ha. Very funny, but this is serious, Nightshift. The Black Flame is inside you and I can already feels it's corruption on myself. We're lucky that it's weak right now otherwise you would turned into a Dark Shifter by the next hour." Wolf growled as I rolled my eyes. 'I know but I rather be joking than focusing on darker parts of life.'
I then noticed Toothless messing around in Heather's bag. "Toothless! Get out of there! No one likes their stuff messed with." I growled as Hiccup takes the satchel off Toothless's head. Something falls out of the bag and we look to see Heather's horn. "Oh she must of left it." I brought my hand out and surprisingly it flew towards me and into my hand. We stood silent in shock before snapping out it. "Another power unlocked for me. Telekinesis." I quipped before looking at the horn more closely.
My eyes widen in shock before turning to Hiccup. "Uh… Hiccup this horn has your dad's seal on it." Hiccup takes the horn in surprise before looking at me in confusion. "Why does it have my dad's seal?" I shrugged my shoulders before I went into another coughing fit. Now I'm curious about Heather. She says her dad gave her this horn but it has Stoick's seal on it. Is it possible that Stoick is her father? No, she doesn't have his scent. Their is multiple scents on a person. Themself, their lover, or their parents. So Stoick being her father is a no go, but then begs the question. How did she get this horn in the first place?
I followed Heather and Sharlene back to their campsite and now I'm curious on why we're here. Did they forget something? "What are we doing back at your campsite? You forget something?" I asked my question as Heather looks around. "Nope." She replies as Sharlene sniffs the air. "Stay put, Stormfly. Keep your ears up." I said as I dismounted, axe in hand, and walked towards the two.
I see Heather and Sharlene looking at the ocean with frustrated looks. "Oh… It must be here." Heather says in frustration. "He's late." Sharlene growls. "Are you going to clue me in on what we're doing here?" I asked as I watch Heather pace around looking for something as Sharlene turns me. "If you see a trader tell us please so I can beat his face for making us wait." Sharlene threatens as I raised my eyebrow. "Trader?" I asked before I heard rustling in a nearby bush next to me. "I think I found your trader." I said before slamming my axe in the bush, pulled it and pinned the person hiding. "Trader Johann?" I asked in surprise and suspicion. What's he's doing here?"
"Miss Astrid, so nice to see you again. Would you mind, please, lowering your axe so my frightened soul might be granted safe passage back to my body?" Trader Johann pleaded as I groaned in annoyance as I stepped off of him. Heather quickly went to his side and got him back up. "Johann! Thank Thor." Heather says in relief as she gets him back up. "Oh. Miss Heather! I'm overjoyed you're not dead." Johann says hugging her before letting go. "When the Terrible Terror returned with the message I sent, I was sick with worry. Then, when I arrived here and saw your campsite abandoned, I feared the worst!"
Okay I need answers. "Someone needs to tell me what's going on." I demanded. "You see, Miss Astrid, if you need exotic spices from a foreign land, or one-of-a-kind cured leathers, or incredibly-difficult-to-obtain information detailing the exact whereabouts of a certain dastardly Berserker, Trader Johann is your man." Johann explains as he shows a map of many x marks on different locations. "Dagur." I said narrowing my eyes. "And if you need a warrior to take care of that dastardly Berserker…" Heather spins her axe and throws it in the air before catching it and getting into a fighting stance. "I'm your girl." She finishes.
"So he's got the info and you've go the axe. Now what?" I questioned wanting to know what their plan will be. "Dagur is set to purchase a fleet of new ships from a group of salty undesirables in the Sea of Despair. But be wary. These new ships for his armada are outfitted with powerful anti-dragon winches and catapults as well as the same weapon that caused Master Matt harm but a more weaker version, not enough to corrupt a Shifter but it will weaken them enough that even a couple of soldiers can bring them down easily. After the deal is done, I won't be able to find him again. Dagur will be back in the wind. Adrift, like a leaf in a stream." Johann blows into his hand like he's holding a leaf watching blow away.
I groaned but I was more worried about those anti-Shifter weapons that Dagur is buying. We wouldn't be a match for them. If they can take out Matt with just one, how will we be able to fight even with Crusher, Tyse and Sharlene in the mix. "And I've used my last grapevine, so I can't offer my invaluable, yet expensive information." Johann finished as Heather thanked him. "Got it. Thanks, Johann. Come on, Astrid." I looked at her for a moment before turning to Johann. "You're not coming?" I asked as he gestured to himself. "What part of this implies 'Rushing into battle on a flying lizard'?" Good point. I turned back and walked back to Heather but I then noticed Sharlene glaring at Johann coldly before walking back to Heather.
So not only Matt doesn't like Johann but Sharlene as well? Maybe Shifter's have a natural distrust of traders, but Matt knows Johann for years now. Why doesn't he change his trust for Johann? Is there something the Shifters know about Johann that we don't?
"Why can't I go with Hiccup? I'm fine." I said before I cough again. Tyse rolls her eyes in amusement as Crusher plays with a spinning toy thing that Tyse invented. She called it a fidget spinner. "You know why. While it is a miracle that you survived and not corrupted it doesn't mean that you are weak. Berk is miles from here and you flying would have consequences. Now shut up and opened wide for your porridge." Tyse takes a spoonful of porridge and put it in front of my mouth. I took a glance at it and almost barfed. It reminds me of Astrid's Yak Nod and it was bad! Somehow this even looks worse than that!
"I'm not eating that." I deadpanned as Tyse narrowed her eyes. "I know this looks bad and I wouldn't eat it but this will quickly make you better. Imagine it being Gothi's medicine." "I just did and now you made it worse." I shudder as her eyes turned slit. "Nightshift. Eat. The. Porridge." She slowly demanded but I refused to open my mouth.
Tyse sighed in disappointment before she hit me right in the head. "OW-" She interrupts my scream in pain by jamming the porridge into my mouth. I swallowed instinctively and shuddered in disgust only… that it wasn't that bad. "Huh? That's it? I'm honestly surprised it was that good." I said in confusion making Tyse smile. "See? Just because it looks bad doesn't mean it's automatically bad. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Even though I'm quite surprised myself." She mumbled the last part but I heard it. "Wait a minute, you thought this was bad? You cooked it!" I yelled, causing her to look away. "I never cooked in my life so excuse me for doubting myself!" She retorts before taking a spoonful of the porridge in her mouth. "What do you eat then?" I asked, curious about how she eats.
"Yaks, a few chickens, don't tell Chicken I'm the reason her cousins were chicken wings, salmon, boars. A lot of animals. I usually eat them raw. I like how their blood flows as I tear the meat off of them like the bloody animals they are! Hehehe!" She starts cackling like a mad woman for a few seconds before stopping. "It was delicious." She finishes calmly as I roll my eyes at her drama. "Yeah yeah. I definitely understand the need to hunt but you never cooked before?" "Nope."
"What friends doing?" Crusher suddenly asked, looking out the window. Tyse and I glanced at each other before she looks out where Crusher is looking before her eyes narrow in confusion. "Seems Heather is speaking to everyone about something, and by the looks of it she's getting frustrated." She says as I cough again.
"We gotta go now. Dagur won't be out in the open for long." I urged my old friends so we catch Dagur and end him for good. "Wait a minute. You want us to go into battle with Dagur and the Berserkers without Hiccup, Toothless and Matt?" Fishlegs questioned. Of course Hiccup and Toothless ain't here at this moment. They would easily be able to help out but they're not. And I'm the reason Matt is hurt. "Guys, I wish Hiccup and Toothless were here, trust me. But they're not. And Matt is too injured to help out. And we can't wait. Dagur's ships are rigged with dragon-proof chains and grappling hooks, And the ships he's buying are even more powerful. But with all of us attacking at once, Dagur won't know what hit him." I ended but I could see the doubt and hestance.
"I have to say any aerial assault of this magnitude would be foolish without Toothless and Matt. And with those weapons that can take out Matt it would be foolish to go against even with the other Shifters. They're the most powerful dragons in our arsenal." Fishlegs says logically before Meatlug groans in sadness. "But you're still my favorite, girl." He coos as Meatlug growls happily.
"Well, it's not like we need Hiccup, Matt and Toothless." Snotlout boasts making Astrid glare and Sharlene's tail to spiked up. "But it's nice to know that we have a Night Fury and Shifter when things get hairy." He chuckles nervously. I'm becoming desperate now and turned to Astrid. "You heard Johann, Astrid. This our last chance. Tell them." I urged her. Astrid looked away in hesitance and I'm beginning to lose hope. "Well…" She hesitantly replies. "Look, Heather-" She stopped herself. I finally realized that I was alone in this. "You, too?" I asked in shock before anger sets in. "Just forget it. All that stuff about trust and having my back, I guess that was just talk." I growled in frustration before walking away as Sharlene follows me. To think I trusted them.
I felt someone watching me and looked up to see Tyse and Crusher looking at me from Matt's window. They didn't hear our conversation but they can feel the tension I bet. I decided to ignore them and continue on to the Stables to grab Windshear.
"What happened?" I asked coughing again. By the goddess this is annoying. "Heather seemed to have a fight with our friends. My guess is she feels betrayed that they're not helping her with her revenge. By the looks of it, she's heading to the Stables to grab her dragon and Sharlene is following her. She's going after Dagur." Tyse says making me groan out in annoyance. Again Heather? I have to save you again?
I tried to get up from my bed but Tyse pushes me down. "No, Nightshift. You're still too weak. We will handle this." Tyse said softly as I groaned. "I can help and besides you don't know what weapons Dagur has and what they are capable of. I can do this if you let me." I plead but she shook her head. "I can't allow my good conscience to let you get hurt again, my alpha. We'll be fine and no anti-Shifter weapon is going to change that." Tyse made a genuine smile besides her sadistic smile. I calmed down but I was still worried about her and Crusher.
"Nightshift not worry. Crusher protect Tyse. Crusher promise." I smiled softly at the gentle brute as he lifts up his enormous hammer. "I'll hold you to that." I said before turning to Tyse again. "Just be careful." She smiles and nods before she takes a hold of my head and kisses it. I blushed madly and shyly look away as she giggles. "I will, Nightshift. Let's go, Crusher!" Tyse runs out through the window followed by Crusher who just goes through the wall and caused a dust crowd. I coughed and gagged before looking at the hole in annoyance. "NEXT TIME USE THE DOOR!" I yelled as I heard the two Shifters laughing. I looked at the damage and groaned. This is going to take awhile to clean up.
"Looks like it just you and me, Windshear… as usual." Heather speaks softly as she pats Windshear as I look at her. I then noticed something that makes me smile. "I don't believe that's the case." I say pointing behind her. Heather turns around and see the Dragon Riders ready. Astrid was in the middle holding her battle axe, Snotlout was holding a mace on the right, Tuffnut was holding a spear between his shoulder blades by his sister and Fishelgs had a determined face between Astrid and Snotlout.
"If we're gonna do this, it has to be a capture mission, not a kill mission. Agreed?" Astrid said making me think. Heather would agree but knowing her, she will discard it for revenge. Using her friends will caused mistrust and consequences but it's Dagur, he deserves death. I'm conflicted if I should stop Heather or not. 'I suppose you'll know when we crossed that bridge.' My spirit, Metalina growls softly as I nod mentally in agreement. "Agreed. We'll sink Dagur's armada, and drag him back to Outcast Island. Let him rot there" Heather lied professionally. "Okay. Then we're with you." Astrid says, not catching Heather's lie.
Snotlout, that annoying scaleless two-leg, boasts that he brought them together to help. I snorted at that. "Well, that's not really my recollection." Fishlegs answers making Snotlout growled. "Quiet, Fishlegs!" Fishlegs though continued. "As soon as she left, your lips started to do that cute little quiver thing." Fishlegs then makes mocking noises making me smirk in amusement. "Quiet! That's a tic! It's a tic when I'm about to fight." Snotlout denied but we all knew the truth.
"So, what changed your mind?" Heather asked Astrid as I watch, curious as well. "Hiccup and Matt. They would never want you to face Dagur alone again. And neither do I." Astrid answered as Heather pulls out the map Johann gave us. I growled at the memory of that name. Something about that Trader makes my instincts go erratic. "Well, I know right where Dagur is." Heather says before Astrid takes the map from her. "Good. Then you won't need this." Astrid pins the map to the Stables. "Now, Hiccup will be able to find us. So what's your plan?" She asks.
Before she answers we here two slams behind us. We turned to see Tyse in her black dark cloak casually spinning her daggers and a large Shifter, I've assume is Crusher, carrying a large warhammer the size of my body on his shoulder. "You think you can go against Dagur without little us?" Tyse smirks as she sheathes her daggers and walk forward until she right in front of Astrid and Heather. "You got another thing coming." She says with a creepy grin that made me shiver. "Crusher help friends fight Dagur. Crusher protect friends." Crusher gruffly speaks as he pounds his fist into her chest, causing a big sound like a drum.
"What about the anti-Shifter weapons Dagur has?" Astrid asks worriedly. "She's already going so why not us?" Tyse points at me as I lean on my Bond sister's side. "Besides, this is personal. No one hurts our future king and gets away with it." Tyse cackles as Crusher nods and punches his fists together. "Crusher crush weapons!" He spoke in glee as I chuckled. "What about Matt? Shouldn't you be watching him?" Heather asked, questioningly. "He's fine. He just needs rest. Nothing will happen while we're gone." Tyse answered.
I placed my hand on Heather's shoulder, making her look at me. I nod, telling her that this is the right move. She nods in agreement before turning to her friends with a smirk. "We're going to hit em when he least expects it." She says smirking as Tyse cackles in delight, Crusher picks up his warhammer while my wrist blade sprouts out.
"Ah. It's a good day to strengthen my armada. Then again it's always a good day to strengthen my armada." I started laughing madly in glee before I started to noticed someone else annoyingly laughing. I turned in anger and see Savage laughing. "What are you laughing at!?" I growled making him stop and scratch his throat. "The gold is ready for the exchange, sir. Should we move it to the deck?" He asked. "No, leave it down below." I instantly said as I turned to the front. "But, sir, when they arrive with the ships, they'll be expecting our gold." My idiot second in command questioned making me turned to him in anger. "Yes!" I stopped rethinking. They're no reason to get mad, Dagur. Savage is an idiot and requires a simple explanation. "And instead of our gold, we'll give them our steel." I pulled out my axe with glee as I watch the gears turned in his head as he smiles back.
It's been a few hours since my friends left and I'm feeling a lot better. Sure I can feel deep anger that they would dare leave me here, but I know what the cause of that anger. The Black Flame is already changing me and I don't like it, but as long as I know who I really am, I'll remain strong. Wolf told me that incase we get corrupted by a dark source.
I walked around the area with a slight limp until I finally reached the Stables, and smiled when I spot Hiccup and Toothless landing. "Welcome back. Did you find information about Heather's horn?" I asked limping towards them. "You should be resting." My brother crooned worriedly as I smiled at him. "Don't worry. I feel much better." I reassured him. "Where's the others?" Hiccup asked. "Heather and the gang is going after Dagur and were also accompanied by Tyse and Crusher, despite the threat of those weapons that shot me down." I answered causing him to widen his eyes in horror.
"We got to stop them." Hiccup says, making me sigh. "Don't worry. It's a capture mission and Astrid left you a map. Though I think Heather would rather kill him along with Sharlene." "That's not it." Hiccup says while shaking his head. I looked at him in confusion on what he means by that. "Then what is it?" I asked as he answered.
"HE'S HEATHER'S WHAT!?" I yelled in bewilderment and shock, trying to wrap around this world changing information. "There's no time. We need to stop Heather before she makes a mistake." Hiccup says as he takes the map off the Stables that I told Hiccup about. "I don't know how to feel about this, but I'll follow your lead since I can't think straight right now."
I changed into my dragon form and took to the air as Hiccup mounts Toothless and takes to the air as well. I follow Hiccup and Toothless so we can stop Heather but, by Noctis, she is going to be shocked and horrified about this.
"There he is." Heather points at the Berserker ship while we were hiding in the clouds so he and his servants won't see us. "Alright, let me guess. You want to attack like the rogue dragon rider that you are. A full frontal assault!" Tuffnut cheered raising his fist up in glory. "No. Element of surprise?" Heather asked as Astrid smiles knowingly. "Heather and I will sneak on Dagur's ship while the rest of you distract him and the other Berserkers from getting our attention." Astrid says but Fishlegs had a logical question.
"What about the anti-Shifter weapons? If it hits one of our dragons or one of us…" "Weapon won't. Crusher distract. Big target. Scary lady and Shiny lady sneak on two-leg ships. Sabotage weapon, maybe destroy." Crusher grunts as I turned to him. "They will hit you easily." I said coldly. Is he stupid that he can dodge those lasers? "Crusher know. But built to withstand big laser." Crusher assured me but I shook my head in refusal. "No one can withstand the Black Flame's power." I growled. "He can. He's a Fonaar. A battle charger. In ancient times, the Fonaar are the only type of dragon that can withstand the power of the Black Flame when the ancient Shifters battle against the Dark Shifters. He's basically immune to the Black Flame like the Gronckle is immune to Dragon Root!" Tyse told me causing me to rethink my choice.
In the end, I sighed. "Very well then. I will believe you. You will distract the humans operating the weapons while me and Tyse will destroy them." I told him making him nod with a grunt. "Great, lets do this!" Tyse giggled manically as she and I went towards the ships sneakily as the others distract the Hunters.
"Dragons! Incoming!" One the Berserkers sounded the alarm as Fishlegs, the Twins, Snotlout and Crusher appear flying. "Prepare the grappling hooks! Ready the chains! Fire the weapons! It's hunting season." I heard Dagur yell to his crew as they start firing at the boys. Crusher changes to his Shifter form with large wings on his back keeping him flying before roaring. "Another one!? First Matt, then that terrifying monster, Heather's friend, and now this!? A giant with a giant hammer!? How is Hiccup and Matt finding these things!?" Dagur yelled in disbelief before he smiles maniacally. "Well, it doesn't matter. FIRE THE WEAPONS!" Dagur roared as the Berserkers aimed and fired multiple dark beams at Crusher.
Crusher dodged many of them, but a few hit him in the chest, but it looked like it had no effect. Tyse was telling the truth after all. "CRUSHER CRUSH YOU!" Crusher roared as he swings his giant hammer vertically. The speed and strength of the swing caused a shockwave of air hitting multiple ships in the process, damaging them greatly. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? FIRE AGAIN!" Dagur ordered as the Berserkers launched more dark beams towards the giant while the other Berserkers fired at the Riders.
One of the Berserkers was about to fire another beam but he stopped shortly when he felt great pain in his chest. He looked down to see one of my wrist blades jammed out of his chest. I pulled my blade out of his back and kicked him off the weapon before turning my attention to the gem in the middle. The gem glowed black with purple lighting sparking from its core as I raised my tail up, spiking it up, before striking it. My tail cut the gem in half and an explosion resonated from it, destroying the weapon as I launched myself away from the destruction.
The explosion destroyed the ship and possibly the humans but I didn't care. I turned my attention in front of me and landed on another ship with a Berserker in front of me. Before the Berserker could raise his weapon, I grabbed the side of his head and twisted it 360 clockwise, killing him. I raised my hands up and caught two maces by the handle from an attack by two Berserkers. I pull the weapons out of their hands and slammed them both in their skulls, crushing them and turning them into a bloody paste.
I let go of the maces and sidestep, avoiding a swing from a sword. The Berserker made another swing at my chest but I simply raised my arm and my wrist blade caught his weapon. I directed the man's sword to the ground, making him lean forward, before I knee him in the face. The force of the attack launched him into the air, I catch him with my tail, squeezed the life out of him before slamming him into the mast of the ship and left him there dead. I noticed one of the Berserkers aiming the weapon at me but before he could pull the trigger, I launched my wrist blade. The shard hits the gem and another explosion happened destroying the ship while I flew away to safely.
'These humans think they can hurt me? That's adorable.' I was surrounded by at least a dozen Berserkers but that didn't concern me. To me this is going to be fun "Come on boys! Let's have some fun!" I giggled psychopathically, making them nervous and hesitant. I smiled, sensing their fear. "No? Well if you won't come to me…" I smiled gleefully before I disappeared in speed and appeared behind one of them. I was so fast, it was like I teleported. "I'LL COME TO YOU!" I screeched and stabbed the poor man in the back and sliced downwards, opening him up. He screamed in pain and horror before I took a hold of him and bit his neck. Once my fangs sinked into his neck, I ripped it out, leaving a giant chunk of flesh and blood mission from his neck.
The Berserker covered his wound in pain and agony but he lost so much blood that he wasn't going to survive. While the Berserkers were watching one of their own die from blood lost, I leaped to another and passed him, dagger in hand. A second later, blood spews out from multiple lacerations appearing on his body before he falls dead. His death caused many of the Berserkers to snap back to reality and attack. I grinned madly as I ducked underneath a mace and a side flip, avoiding a sword. I lifted my right dagger and caught an arm holding a hammer. The Berserker screamed in pain as my dagger pierces his forearm before he was thrown towards some of the other Berserkers, knocking them down.
I laughed more before I slightly turned my head to the right and glanced back. Three Berserkers charged at me but when they looked directly to my yellow eye, it flashed brightly. The three Berserkers found themselves in a dark place on the ship. The waters were not the ocean but blood. The ships were abandoned and broken, with a few on fire. Their crewmates and friends were corpses whispering dark thoughts in their ears. But the most terrifying thing in front of them was… me. In their eyes, I was far from my normal form. In this world, my nightmare realm, I was the demon. It was the same form that I scared Tuffnut with when we first met, but this time I increased their fear. They paled as my bloody face split apart, revealing fresh blood and hundreds of fangs.
I screeched in joy as they screamed in terror as I pounced on their bodies and rip them apart. Limbs, heads, organs and like were spread around the area as I laughed psychopathically before ending the nightmare. The three Berserkers behind me weren't in pieces but they were dead with fear on their faces. A few seconds in my realm of nightmares and I can kill you if I wanted, but not with blades or my natural weapons. Fear. So much fear that you will die from a heart attack.
While I was distracted by my art, a Berserker went for a decapitation. I noticed in time and stepped back but the tip of the sword scratched me in the cheek. My eyes widen in shock feeling pain and touched it, bringing up to my face I can see blood. My shocked state soon became wild and sadistic. I giggled in amusement before bursting out laughing in glee. BLOOD! BLOOD! BLOOD! My mad laughter brought fear to the Berserker but he brought up his courage and swung at me.
I caught his wrist, grinning madly with wide eyes, before crushing his wrist. The Berserker screamed in agony as I watch with happiness as my eyes madly looks at his tearful and fearful ones. "Your screams make me so aroused." I growled lustfully as I take out my blade and began stabbing him multiple times. At the final stab, I used all my force to pierced his chest before ripping it out, with his heart pierced by my dagger. The life left his eyes as soon as I ripped out his heart. I smiled innocently before letting go of the body.
I turned my attention to the other Berserkers as they step back in fear. I smiled as multiple parts of me separated and formed into more of myself. I look at my clones as they look at me in happiness before our predatory gaze at the Berserkers. "So many snacks and so little time." My voice echoes from myself and my clones before pouncing on the soon-to-be-dead humans. Oh blood how I miss you!
"Is Tyse a psychopath or something?" Heather asked me in shock and horror as we watch some of her work. "I don't know but with her being a sadist, I wouldn't be surprised. Besides, isn't Sharlene the same?" I asked as she shakes her head. "Sharlene kills her enemies quickly and precisely. Tyse is just… brutal and slow. She's just enjoying their suffering at this point." Heather says worriedly as I touched her shoulder. "I know Tyse is violent and unstable, but she's good inside and has our best interest at heart." I explained as we climbed onto Dagur's ship, avoiding a Berserker who just went out of his business. Ugh. "I guess you have a point." Heather says as I jumped in front of a Berserker holding a barrel who drop it and making a weird face. "Nice surprise face." I commented before Heather knocked him out with the flat part of her axe. We bump our wrist guards together in accomplishment before sneaking up on another Berserker pulling one of the winches to get the chain back on the ship.
As we silently get closer, I grabbed a nearby basket large enough to cover his head. Once we got closer, I slammed the basket on his head, Heather pulls his feet from under him and then we tossed him overboard before hiding behind a couple of boxes. Dagur turns around in confusion hearing the scuffle before heading off again.
Suddenly a Berserker holding multiple ball and chains walks in front of us and noticed us as we noticed him. A awkward silence follows as he looks at us in confusion while Heather and I glanced at one another wide eyed. The Berserker drops what he was carrying and approaches us only for Windshear's tail wrap around him, slam him into a couple of boxes before tossing him between us knocking him out.
Dagur turns around again hearing the commotion and see nothing since we were hiding again and keeping the unconscious Berserker out of sight. We heard Dagur asked what was going on and was about to approach only for Meatlug to hit the ship. Dagur turned to the sky and yelled. "Come on, already!" He yelled and was about to the throw the chain towards Fishlegs and Meatlug only for my axe to catch it and pull on it.
"Oh no." Dagur said in shock before his body went flying in our direction and Heather quickly subdued him by tying his hands together. "What are you doing?" Dagur asked before turning his body in our direction and realization dawns on him. "You two?" He deadpanned. "Surprise, Dagur." Heather said with a smirk. "Two axes are better than one." I replied. "And twelve ships trumps two axes." Dagur mocks before he sees our dragons land in front of him snarling. "I should've seen that coming." Dagur commented to himself.
We finally did it. We won! Suddenly Heather turned to her dragon. "Windshear, finish it!" She ordered. What? Windshear lifts up her tail and sprouts out her blades. I finally realized what she was about to do. "No, Heather, don't! You promised us a captive mission." I said, reminding her what she promised me. "Sorry, Astrid. I changed my mind. Dagur didn't 'capture' my village. And besides Sharlene taught me that to take out a threat is to take them out permanently, so they won't cause more harm in the future. So this ends here." Heather angrily says as she unfolds her axe, spins it and aiming it at Dagur's throat.
Dagur gasps in surprise but he then started laughing evilly. "If you kill me, Heather, you'll never know-" Heather gags Dagur while glaring at him in rage. "Save it for the gods. Windshear!" Windshear lifts her bladed tail, causing Dagur to scream to his gag while Heather had a dark expression to her face. I was about to order Stormfly to stop Windshear when suddenly two plasma bolts fires near us, interrupting Windshear's attack. "Stop!" We looked up and see Hiccup, Toothless and… MATT!? WHAT IS HE DOING HERE!? HE SHOULDN'T BE OUT OF BED!
Hiccup dismounts Toothless, swings on one of the ropes before skidding in front of Heather, putting a hand on her shoulder to stop her. "Heather, stop." Hiccup pants. "Move, Hiccup." Heather threatened smacking his hand off her shoulder. "You don't understand." Matt says as he changes back to his human form. I look at him worried and angry that he would be here instead of at Dragon's Edge. "You promised me there would be another time, and this is it!" Heather yelled. "Look. You told me your gave you this." Hiccup pulls out Heather's horn and shows it to her. "He did, but what are you doing?" Heather asked not amused. "This is my father's Chief Seal." Hiccup revealed shocking the both of us.
Heather takes the horn in confusion and conflict. "Stoick's seal is carved in my horn? What are you saying?" "Years ago, Stoick gave this horn to the Chief of the Berserker tribe, Oswald the Agreeable, as a gift for his newborn daughter." Matt explained. "But…" Heather says in confusion. "You were that newborn, Heather. Oswald the Agreeable is your father. And he is also Dagur's father." Hiccup finishes as we turned our direction to Dagur. "No." Heather says in horror as Dagur shrugs, still gagged.
"While I agree that he should be taken out, Dagur is your brother, Heather. You can't kill him." Matt says, having a conflicted expression to his face as he glares at the tied Viking. Heather turned to my direction, not wanting it to be true. "Astrid." She says in hopelessness. "I-" I tried to speak but then something impacted the ship, making us rock. We then see multiple boulders fly above us as Matt investigated. "It's the rest of Dagur's ships!" Matt growled in anger.
The boulders aimed at our friends missed but we see Hookfang fire in our direction making us duck. The fire hits the ships and makes it forcefully turn and making us stumble and fall. One of the ships goes on the ships side and Berserkers started boarding. "Heather. We have to go." Hiccup says urgently as Heather crouches motionlessly there. "GET. UP." Matt suddenly growled at her as I noticed a purple and black glow came from his eyes only to disappear a moment later. What was that?
Suddenly the sound of ropes snapping draw our attention and we see Dagur no longer gagged and tied up. "I have to admit, you never disappoint, brothers. Or maybe you're actually my uncles. Who knows in this crazy world?" Dagur laughs madly at his joke before he wipes it off his face and sneers. Multiple Berserkers climbed on the bridge that allows them to board and I mounted Stormfly to stall them. "Heather, come on!" Hiccup urged her to move but she didn't.
"Heather, I'm the only family you've got left. Join me, sister! Don't fight destiny. I know you feel the Berserker blood flowing through your veins." Dagur tempted as he brought his hand towards her. Heather smirks and stands up, staring at him. Dagur chuckles in accomplishment before Heather charges at him, axe in hand. Heather jumps upwards avoiding him. "What are you doing?" Dagur says in frustration as Heather mounts on Windshear and glares at him before taking off.
Come back, sis! 'Heather the Unhinged' has a nice ring to it, no? You'll be back and I will welcome you with open arms!" He yells to her before turning around looking at the ground in thought. "We'll have to wait on that reunion. Pity." Dagur looks up and see's Matt's dragon face. "Surprise!" He jokes. "What?!" Dagur yells before Matt smacks him with his tail knocking him down as we follow him.
"All right, gang, back to the Edge!" Hiccup yells as we attack multiple ships to stall them from firing. "Under the circumstances, I wholeheartedly agree with that plan." Fishlegs agrees as Matt roars at two of the ships. Screams originate from the both of them as a swarm of Night Terrors flies out of one of the ships while a Razorwhip Shifter fires at multiple parts of the ships and makes them explode in black and purple light. "That was fun!" Tyse's voice echoes in mad laughter as Sharlene coldly glares at the ships. "Let's go!" Matt growled at the two Shifters making them follow us.
We see Heather packing up and she had sadness originating from her. Knowing who her brother is, I'm not surprised. I would be shocked as well. "Guess you're leaving. Again." Astrid speaks by me as Heather looks to our direction sadden. "I thought you were tired of being alone." Astrid asked as I looked at Heather's reaction. "I am." She admitted as we approached her. "You don't have to be. You can stay with us. You'll have support. And we're here." I conforted her as she sighs in sadness. "I know. I just have a lot I need to figure out."
We look at another with sadness as Heather picks up her satchel and puts it around her shoulder. Astrid was holding Heather's axe while I was holding her horn out. Heather smiles as she takes her axe. She went to take her horn only to stop. I was about to ask what was wrong when she gently push it to me. I look at her wide eye as she softly smiles. "Take care of it until I come back. Can I trust you to keep after it?" She asks as I look at her shock. I slowly lose my surprise before smiling gently at her. "I promise. It'll be waiting for it's rightful owner." I said as she smiles back.
She walks back to Windshear and mounts up as me and Astrid look at her sadden. "Thanks, Astrid. It was nice having a friend again. And Matt. I'm sorry I got you hurt." "Water under the bridge. Don't worry about it." I said with a smile but the atmosphere was sad. Hiccup and Sharlene walks next to us and nods to her, no words needed to be said. Heather nods back before turning to Windshear. "Let's go, girl." Heather says as the two take off towards the sunset.
I turned to Sharlene as she looks towards the two silhouettes. "Are you sure you didn't want to go with her?" I asked. She slowly turns to my direction and shakes her head. "No. I wanted to though, but I know she wanted me to stay and help you out. I will miss her and my bond sister, but I will manage." She replies emotionlessly before thinking of something. She slowly took her hands up and placed them on the side of her helmet and slowly lifted it up. I look at her in surprise as she continues lifting it up before it was off entirely. Sharlene had short silver hair and her eyes were bright green. She had a sharp and emotionless face but there was trust in her eyes.
"We haven't properly met." She coldly states but her eyes show another emotion. Happiness. "My name is Sharlene of Clan Sharp." She takes her hand out and I take it with a shake. "My name is Matt of Berk. Or if you prefer Nightshift of Clan Nightfuryous." I said with a smile as a small smile appears on her emotionless face. "Nice to meet you, Nightshift of Clan Nightfuryous." The both of us smiled at one another as we looked at Heather and WIndshear fly away. I noticed Astrid holding Hiccup and I smiled knowing what will come in the future.
Wolf growls at the Black and sparkling purple silhouette as it slowly approaches. "This is my domain, dark entity! You will not corrupt Nightshift!" He snarls as the figure chuckles darkly. "It iS oNLy a mAtTeR of TimE. DaRKnEsS sHaLl prEVaiL. NiGhTsHiFt wIlL BeLoNg tO mE." The dark entity warped voice echoes as Wolf growls. "As long as there is light, you have no power here! LEAVE!" Wolf growls as the figure chuckles and disappears back into the darkness. Wolf pants in exhaustion before sighing. "Please resist Nightshift. If you don't, the world is lost." Wolf growls as dark laughter was heard in the subconscious of the Alpha Shifter.
Well that's not good. There is now an evil entity inside of Nightshift and it already began its corruption of our hero. Besides the downsides, the Dragon Riders gained a new ally against the fight between good and evil. But what of Heather? How will this reveal of her relationship with Dagur change? Let's hope she'll be alright. And for Dagur, who was he meeting for his new ships outfitted with anti-dragon gear. Are they the same people who created the weapons to take out the Shifters. I suppose we will find out in the future. To the Great and Beyond!
