The next morning, Maggie woke up earlier than Isobel so she can make her breakfast before she left to go back to her own house to get ready. Maggie did her usual morning routine before making her way to the kitchen. She remembers her saying that her grandpa used to make sausage, eggs, and potatoes and also made tortillas while it was cooking. Though Maggie was not skilled enough to make her own tortillas, she did have the store bought ones. She cut up the potatoes as thinly as possible, chopped up some sausage, and got the eggs ready. She made sure her fire extinguisher was nearby before she even turned the stove on. Once it was and the pan was hot, she threw on the potatoes. Once they were almost cooked, she threw in the cut up sausage. After both were nice and crispy, she threw in some eggs. Once everything was done, and she successfully cooked without starting a fire, she threw the tortillas in the microwave to warm them up. She got out the hot sauce, salsa, and cheese in case she wanted that on them as well. She also decided to make some toast with almond butter, banana slices, and a sprinkle of cinnamon; just the way Isobel likes her toast.
"Is this what I think it is?" Isobel whispered in Maggie's ear as she wrapped her arms around Maggie's waist from behind. Since Maggie didn't hear her, Isobel ended up scaring her.
"It is. I remembered you talking about how your grandpa would make this in the mornings that you were there, so I decided to attempt making it." Maggie said.
"You remembered? And you remember how I like to eat toast?" Isobel asked.
"Of course." Maggie said.
"No one's ever remembered even the little things like this." Isobel said. She could start crying by this and how Maggie is making her feel so loved even by the smallest gesture like this.
"That's because I really care about you, Isobel," Maggie said. Maggie turned head and kissed Isobel. The kiss started getting heated, and as a 'thank you', Isobel dropped to her knees, brought Maggie's leg over her shoulder and got to work. "I should do this more often." Maggie said breathlessly after climaxing.
"That's my way of telling you thank you." Isobel said, standing back up.
"In that case, I'm definitely doing this more often." Maggie said. Isobel chuckled and gave Maggie a brief kiss before turning her attention back on the food. They ate together, both in much better moods than when they woke up. After eating, Isobel had to go home so she could get ready for the work day. She quickly curled her hair before doing her makeup. She had to cover up a few marks that Maggie left on her neck and chest. Once she was done, she decided to wear a red long sleeve shirt with a grey pencil skirt and black heels. She drove to 26 fed and parked in the parking garage. She walked over to the building and walked in. She went through the metal detectors and upstairs to the elevator.
"Good morning Jubal!" Isobel said in a chipper mood.
"You seem... happy today." Jubal said, noticing Isobel's unusual happy mood.
"I've had a pretty good morning." Isobel said happily.
"Who is it?" Jubal asked
"What?" Isobel asked.
"There's only a couple things I know of that makes someone this happy in the morning. Certain drugs or sex. I know you would never do any kind of drug, so that leaves one thing. So who is it?" Jubal asked as the elevator doors opened. They board the elevator and press the button for the 27th floor.
"Just someone." Isobel said.
"Okay. Well you'll have to tell me about this someone sometime." Jubal said.
"I will eventually." Isobel said. No other words were exchanged the rest of the elevator ride. The doors open, and they head into the JOC. Isobel said good morning to everyone happily, which they all thought was weird but nice to see her happy. She also noticed that Maggie wasn't in yet, but that is usual. She usually stopped by the coffee shop before coming in.
Maggie walked in with her daily cup of coffee as well as one for Isobel and went to her desk. "Good morning!" Maggie said to OA, Tiff, and Scola in a chipper mood. She got up to give Isobel her coffee, but OA stopped her.
"Stop. Turn around. What's got you in a happy mood this morning?" OA asked.
"It's a beautiful morning! How can you not be happy?" Maggie asked. Then she headed to Isobel's office. She noticed before walking in that Isobel was pacing as she read a case file. She also noticed what she was wearing and couldn't stop her eyes from traveling down her body. She snapped out of it and knocked before entering. "Hey! I brought you coffee!" Maggie said. She closed the door before handing Isobel her coffee.
"Thank you love!" Isobel said with a smile. She set her case file down before taking the cup from Maggie's hand and took a drink.
"It's going to be really hard not to rip your clothes off when you look so good in that outfit." Maggie said in a low voice. Isobel choked on the sip she was taking.
"Maggie you can't say that when we're here." Isobel said.
"Sorry. But, the door is closed, so no one heard me." Maggie stated.
"True, but when we're around people, you'll have to refrain from making comments like that." Isobel said.
"You're right. It's also going to be so hard to not kiss you." Maggie said.
"I know. It's going to be hard for me too. But we can kiss all we want after work." Isobel said.
"I will most certainly be doing that. I should probably get back before they suspect anything." Maggie said. She almost kissed Isobel, but she refrained from doing so. She left and went back to her desk.
"Since when do you bring Isobel coffee?" Tiff asked.
"We made a bet on something, and I lost, so I had to bring her a coffee." Maggie answered.
"What was the bet?" OA asked.
"Who could go the longest without talking." Maggie said the first thing that came to mind.
"Mags you're a talker." OA said with a chuckle.
"I know. I don't know why I thought I would win." Maggie said with a chuckle. They didn't question her any further, so she thinks they bought it. Suddenly her phone dings, indicating that she got a text.
You look absolutely stunning today! And you look mighty fine in those pants too;)
Well thank you:D You look absolutely fantastic today! And I do have to say that you're looking absolutely delicious in that skirt, almost as good as you out of it ;)
Awfully brave of you to be sending that at work.
As you know, I live for danger :P
Don't make me call you back in here agent Bell
Oh you know I would enjoy that very much Castille
"So there is someone. Whom I'm assuming you had a great morning with." Maggie heard OA say. She slammed her phone down with the screen facing down so no one saw her messages.
"What do you mean?" Maggie asked.
"You're very smiley looking at your phone. That's a good indicator that you're talking to someone you like very much." he said.
"It's no one." Maggie said.
"Doesn't look like no one to me." Scola said.
"Okay, fine. There is someone, but we're not officially dating. At least not yet." Maggie said.
"Well whoever this is, I can tell you're really happy with them. I don't think I've ever seen you this happy before." Tiff said.
"I've never been this happy. Not even with Jason. I mean, I loved Jason, but the connection I have with this person is special and nothing like I've ever felt. We've been talking for months, and I just hope I don't mess this up." Maggie said.
"I'm sure you won't. I'm happy that you've found someone special. You deserve to be happy after everything you've been through." Tiff said. OA looked upset but put on a fake smile. Maggie made a mental note to ask him what's wrong later.
The team ended up getting a missing persons case. The first 24 hours were crucial, and they already lost eight. It took them two days before they were able to locate the missing person. Luckily they weren't too badly harmed. "Hey, OA, can we talk?" Maggie asked OA before they exited the JOC.
"Uh, sure. Everything okay?" OA asked.
"It is with me. But are YOU okay? Ever since I mentioned I've been talking to someone, you have been off. What's wrong?" Maggie asked. OA looked around before dragging her into an empty office. "What the hell, OA?!" Maggie said.
"I know about you and Isobel." he said.
"What are you talking about?" Maggie asked, trying not to show that she's panicking.
"I saw you two kiss in the park as I was going for run. Maggie, you could lose your job if anyone found out!" OA said.
"I don't know what you think you saw, but that wasn't us." Maggie said.
"Really? Because the two women were wearing the exact same outfits as you and the exact same hair. It was the day I ran into you guys at the Indian restaurant. Ringing any bells?" OA asked.
"I can assure you it wasn't us. Maybe you just thought you saw us. I went home right after we left." Maggie said.
"Are you sure? Because I highly doubt you have twins who found each other and are dating." OA said.
"OA, you don't have any actual facts here. Just by what you saw or think you saw. Isobel and I are not seeing each other. It'd be forbidden even if we were attracted to one another. Plus I don't like women." Maggie said.
"One last question, would you ever consider dating me? It wouldn't technically be forbidden since we're the same rank. Just frowned upon." OA asked.
"OA, you're my partner. You're like a little brother to me, and I don't ever want to jeopardize what we have now. Quite frankly, you're like my guy best friend, and I don't want to lose you over a breakup. I like our dynamic and what we have now," Maggie answered. "You don't actually..."
"Uh... no. Nope just a hypothetical." he said and then walked out.
"That was weird." Maggie said and then walked out. She walked out to the elevator and waited. As she did, she received a message from Isobel.
Meet me at my house. I have something special planned for us3
On my way now 3
Maggie went to her car with the biggest smile on her face. She drove to Isobel's house and rang her doorbell. Isobel answered with the biggest smile and allowed Maggie to walk in before closing the door. "Finally I can do this." Maggie said and kissed her. It began getting heated, but Isobel pulled away before they could get any further.
"I would love to continue this, but unfortunately we're going to have to wait until dessert for that." Isobel said.
"Right. I'm sorry. You're just very addicting." Maggie said. Isobel chuckled lightly.
"I figured we could have a date night in. I am going to teach you how to make your favorite meal without needing a fire extinguisher." Isobel said.
"We're making steak and potatoes?!" Maggie asked excitedly. Isobel nodded her head. "You're the best! Let's go!" Maggie said excitedly and pulled Isobel to her kitchen. They got the ingredients around and started with the potatoes. Once they were in the oven, they moved on to the steaks. They both liked their steaks medium well, so Isobel taught Maggie how long each side to cook them. Once everything was done, they plated it, and Isobel got out two wine glasses and her favorite red wine. To add a romantic touch, Isobel lit some candles and dimmed the lights. She sat down next to Maggie, and they ate their food and talked. As they continued to talk after finishing their food, Maggie looked deep into Isobel's eyes and realized just how in love she was with her. As Isobel was talking about her day, Maggie blurted out,
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"What?" Isobel asked, making sure she heard Maggie correctly.
"I've fallen so deeply in love with you, and I can't wait any longer to ask you. Will you be my girlfriend?" Maggie asked, now panicking she will reject her.
"Yes, I will." Isobel said with a big smile. Isobel kissed Maggie, and that lead to them going to Isobel's room. Many rounds later, they decided to get some sleep before they had to be to work. They were only able to get a few hours of sleep, so they both were very tired when they went in even after drinking coffee. Jubal and OA were getting more suspicious of them because there were too many things in common with both of their behaviors for it to be coincidences.
