Volume II: The Black Widow Part I
Note: This will be the thirteenth chapter of Volume II and a two part story, this will bring Natasha Romanoff as the Black Widow, this will be her first appearance in the story as she cross paths Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider. This will also bring Yelena Belova and the Red Room as the main villains of this chapter. Both Peter and Gwen will soon be facing off against the Black Widows as the Red Room has big plans for them. This will bring Captain America and S.H.I.E.L.D. playing the big role in aiding our two heroes . Natasha will also question her choices between her allegiance to the Red Room and doing what she believes to be morally right. This chapter will also introduce a hint to the past of Peter's parents.
It's January 12th, it's nighttime in New York, a group of armed robbers just ambushed a armored car in the middle of downtown, there's about ten of them all a red with automatic weapons. One of them has a grenade launcher fired knockout gas into the cab of the vehicle, neutralizing the driver and passenger.
A couple of them gotten to the back of the door as one of them placed C4 on it. They've pulled back to a safe distance as the C4 blew up the steel door wide open. They approached the back to see that the money is still intact inside.
"Hurry up! We don't have much time!"
Unfortunately, both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider arrived and landed on top of the armored car as the armed robbers looked up in shocked.
"I agreed! In fact, you don't have much time at all!" Spider-Man tells the armed robbers.
"It's them, kill them both!"
They all aimed their guns at them but both spiders were too quick as they've jumped down and wrapped their legs on a couple of them, they both did the hurricanrana. Spider-Man sweeps down to do the sweep kick on one thug, got him off his feet. Ghost-Spider webbed up a guy and pulls him in for a flying knee strike.
Unknown to anyone, very far from the fighting, a couple of women dressed in black are watching from afar, a redhead and a blonde, studying both heroes for their strengths and weaknesses.
One thug came at Spider-Man who is distracted with a knife but Ghost-Spider jumped in and does the sidekick to the man, knocking him off balance. Spider-Man turns around to see that Ghost-Spider jumped in and saved his life.
"I knew that guy was coming." Spider-Man says to Ghost-Spider.
"Of course you did. I just took him out first before you did." Ghost-Spider says to Spider-Man.
A couple of thugs came at Spider-Man but the hero's charged in and does the jumping scissors kicks, taking them both down simultaneously. Ghost-Spider sees several thugs heading her way as she fired a web grenade and trapping them all together. They look around to see that all ten thugs are neutralized.
"There, that wall all too easy, as always." Spider-Man says to Ghost-Spider.
"What is it about the bad guys stealing money?" Ghost-Spider asking Spider-Man.
"I don't know, maybe they just prefer to this over working honest jobs." Spider-Man says to Ghost-Spider.
The two guards came out of the cab, and sees that the two heroes stopped the robbery and took down the bad guys.
"Thanks for you help, you really saved our bacon."
"It was a pleasure. So Shall we get going? Feeling hungry?" Spider-Man asking Ghost-Spider.
"Thought you never ask. Where are we going?"Ghost-Spider says to Spider-Man.
"Have you ever had shawarma?" Spider-Man has a suggestion.
"What's shawarma?" Ghost-Spider is unfamiliar with that kind of food.
"You'll see." Spider-Man says to Ghost-Spider.
Both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider swings away from the scene to have lunch as the two unknown watched from a distance using binoculars.
"I think they're both about to calling it in for the night. We should do the same." Yelena says to Natasha.
"Agreed, I need my beauty sleep anyway. We both have to be up for work in the morning." Natasha says to Yelena.
Later in the city, Peter and Gwen are at a restaurant eating Shawarma, Peter has already tasted it before at the Expo with Tony Stark, this is actually the first time Gwen has ever tried it as she's takes the first bite, she's tasted it and her eyes widen.
"How is it?" Peter asking Gwen.
Gwen chews her food. "Hmm! They're heaven."
"That's what I'd said the first time too." Peter smiled at Gwen.
"How did you find this place?" Gwen chewing her shawarma.
"Tony recommended it, he immediately went here after the invasion, and told me to stop by sometime." Peter says to Gwen.
"This is nice, bringing your girl here on a date after patrolling." Gwen smiled at Peter.
Gwen has something on her mind as Peter picked up an expression from her face.
"What is it, Gwen?" Peter asking Gwen.
"It's just... this is nice, you and me together again." Gwen says to Peter.
"But?" Peter says to Gwen.
"I can't help but thinking that I'm the right girl for you, I know that it's been weeks since we've reconciled our relationship as a couple, but I can't help but thinking about the other girls you've had in the past, Liz Allen, Felicia Hardy, and our friend Mary Jane. I've seen you kissing Felicia on Christmas Eve, and later Mary Jane told me that she confessed her love for you. Sometimes I wonder if you've loved them in the same way you loved me." Gwen says to Peter.
"I do, MJ is the most important girl in my life, she stood by my side since we were kids, and still love her as a dear friend." Peter says to Gwen.
"And Felicia? Did you feel the same way for her?" Gwen is wondering.
"Yes, I did, I felt a connection to her since the first moment we've met. Felicia was the first person who loved me as Spider-Man, she made me think that I could still have relationship with my mask on and be true to myself." Peter says to Gwen.
"They sound like they're both perfect girls for you." Gwen felt a bit jealous.
"They are... but neither of them are you." Peter smiled at Gwen.
Gwen smiled as Peter said those words to her.
"You're the love of my life, Gwen Stacy, always have been, always will be, I'm with you till the end of the line." Peter smiled at Gwen.
"I love you too, Peter." Gwen smiled at Peter.
Peter and Gwen leaned in closer and kissed each other, their romantic relationship is stronger than ever before as they're so much in love with each other.
The next day at Midtown High, everyone has entered science class and taken their seats. Peter and Gwen sat together as Mary Jane still sits behind them, she could see that they've rekindle their more than ever before, she's still a bit sadden that Peter chose to be with Gwen, but she can't complain since she knew that Gwen is still the one for him.
"Hey MJ!" Harry came by and waved to her.
"Oh, hey Harry." Mary Jane greeted her ex boyfriend Harry Osborn.
He took his seat next to Mary Jane as he noticed that Peter and Gwen are flirting with one another.
"It's nice to see them back together again. Those two are endgame." Harry is happy for them.
"Yeah... they sure are." Mary Jane agrees with Harry.
As everyone has already taken their seats, a redhead woman wearing glasses with quite the lovely figure has made an entrance as many of the boys can't helped but stare at their substitute teacher, some girls can't help but being jealous by her beauty. She is known to the school as Nancy Rushman, a substitute science teacher filling in Raymond Warren's class who is on sick leave.
"Good morning class." Natasha greeted the class.
"Good morning, Ms. Rushman!"
"I trust that you all study last night on the importance of fertility." Natasha says to the class.
"Of course, Ms. Rushman." Gwen says to Natasha.
"Alright then, let's get started, class is in session. Please turn to page 40." Natasha started teaching her class.
Later in the gymnasium, everyone is now dressed for PE as they're jogging around doing laps around the gymnasium, a blonde hair woman is watching and observing two students in particular, Peter and Gwen as neither of them have broken a sweat from all the running. Everyone stopped after they're done with their laps.
"Okay, let's divide up the class in team of five for dodgeball. Let's have Parker, Osborn, Thompson, Robertson, and McFarlane on one team. Stacy, Watson, Allan, Brant, and Grant, you're on the opposing team." Yelena tells the class.
The fives boys came to opposing side of the room and the girls went to the other as they've all grabbed some dodgeballs to be used for the game. Everyone is in possession to play the game and are waiting.
"Alright, let's play ball!" Yelena blows the whistle.
Everyone started to play dodgeball as Yelena observed Peter and Gwen for their reaction time with their improved senses they've both possessed. Flash tossed a ball at Betty but Gwen stepped in and blocks with the ball, she tossed the ball at Flash and he got hit.
"You're out, Thompson!" Yelena tells Flash.
Flash steps out as only four player are left on the boy's side, Glory tossed a ball at Peter but he sense it and dodged the ball and counters by tossing a ball at Glory, she got hit and was walking out. Yelena is impressed by both Gwen's and Peter's reaction time, the game continues on as Yelena continues to observe both students.
Later after PE ended, Peter is in the locker room changing into his regular clothes along with the rest of the guys.
"So what do you guys think of the two subs?" Randy asking the guys.
"The blonde is one is pretty cute, but the redhead looked like a supermodel." Flash says to the guys.
"How odd that both Coach Wilson and Professor Warren got sick before school was back in session." Harry tells the guys.
"Yeah, that is strange. What do we knows about the two subs?" Peter asking the guys.
"Well, let's see." Harry uses the phone.
Harry did some search on Nancy Rushman and found her page on social media.
"Got it, Nancy Rushman, age 24, grew up in Ohio, graduated college with degrees in chemistry and biology, she's fluent in French, Italian, Russian, Latin." Harry reading off Nancy's social media page.
"Who speaks Latin?" Flash is surprised.
"No one speaks Latin, it's a dead language." Peter corrects Flash.
Harry continues scrolling down her page and found something interesting.
"And looks like she did some modeling work." Harry says to the guys.
Flash came up and looked to see images of Nancy Rushman modeling in lingerie.
"Dang, she modeled in Tokyo." Flash is impressed.
Everyone in the locker room, including Peter looked at Natasha doing some modeling.
"Gotta admit, she's quite the looker, wonder why she quit all that to become a science teacher." Peter says to the guys.
"Don't know, women are quite the mystery." Flash says to the guys.
"Maybe for you, as for me, I'm doing quite well with my girl." Peter smiled with pride.
"Have to say, I'm quite surprised that you and Gwen got back together, Parker. I would've thought that you'd gone with MJ or that white haired chick." Flash says to Peter.
"They're both great girls, but I realized that Gwen is the one, she's the love of my life." Peter admits to everyone.
Flash smiled as did Harry for Peter's love for Gwen.
"You're lucky, Gwen is one of a kind." Harry envied Peter.
"You have no idea." Peter smiled back.
Sometime later at as it's nearly sunset, Natasha and Yelena are at a safe house with pictures of Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider along with their secret identities as Peter and Gwen. Natasha is sending everything she and Yelena learned about the two spider heroes to her superiors in the Red Room.
"Still awaiting orders?" Yelena asking Natasha.
"I've already sent the Red Room data on the two heroes. We should be hearing back from them very soon." Natasha informs Yelena.
"Its been two weeks since we've came all the way to America and infiltrate the school simply to observe our two targets, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider." Yelena says to Natasha.
"What's the matter, sis? Don't like playing the role as a high school teacher?" Natasha asking Yelena.
"Not quite, but it's either this or trying to seduce Tony Stark for the Iron Man schematics. Luckily the other widow already took care of that part, as well the other one who managed to obtain a blood sample from Captain America on one of his missions. As for the spiders, the scientists specifically stated they needed the specimens themselves to be studied." Yelena says to Natasha.
"Don't get me wrong, going undercover as teachers is the closest experience we'll ever have to being in high school. Sometimes I wonder what our lives would've been like if we weren't Black Widows." Natasha says to Yelena.
"I know the feeling, but unfortunately fate had other plans for us. This is who we are, highly trained spies and assassins, we can't change who we are." Yelena says to Natasha.
Natasha is saddened by that idea, but she knows that it's true, she has been trained from her childhood into a deadly spy called the Black Widow. She had thoughts about what she could've been if the Red Room didn't take her, but unfortunately being a Black Widow came at a price, a permanent one.
Both Yelena and Natasha finally received an encrypted transmission from the Red Room superiors speaking in Russian.
"Agents Romanoff and Belova, we've received the data, now is the time to initiate the next phase of the mission. You are ordered to capture both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider alive and bring them to the Red Room facility in Russia. Is that understood?"
"Understood." Yelena speaking in Russian.
"Orders received and acknowledged, Romanoff out!" Natasha speaking in Russian as she cut transmission.
"Finally! I'm getting bored." Yelena says to Natasha.
"Now all we need to do is set the trap and let them come to us." Natasha says to Yelena.
"Got any suggestions?" Yelena asking Natasha.
Natasha walked over to the kitchen to show a couple of gas cans.
"We burn this place, no evidence. Grab a can." Natasha has an idea.
Natasha and Yelena each grabbed a can as they went around the apartment leaking gasoline around and tying up some loose ends.
Meanwhile as the sun is setting down and nighttime has come, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are patrolling the city for any activity.
"How much longer are we going to keeping on patrolling? There's nothing going on tonight!" Ghost-Spider is swinging.
"Okay then, let's gets some Chinese or whatever it is you're craving!" Spider-Man is swinging.
"So it's another date, then?" Ghost-Spider is swinging.
"Guess so!" Spider-Man is swinging.
Both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider received the fire emergency alert on their suit's HUD.
"Attention, Fire Emergency in Midtown East, two occupants still trapped inside the burning apartment!"
"So much for our date... shall we?" Spider-Man asking Ghost-Spider.
"After you!" Ghost-Spider says to Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider headed towards the scene of the fire at high speed.
(Later)
At Midtown East, an apartment is burning on fire as the fire department is doing their best to hose down the window from the ladder as it's proven to be difficult. Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider landed on the building opposite over looking the burning apartment.
"Looks like the fire department is having trouble getting inside. Let's give them a hand." Spider-Man says to Ghost-Spider.
The two heroes swings across the streets towards burning apartment building as they've jumped through the window and made it inside the apartment. They look around to see if there's any survivors.
"Hello!!!" Ghost-Spider calling out.
"Is anyone in here?!!!" Spider-Man calling out too.
They hear some noise nearby as they've both saw two women covering themselves in blankets.
"Stay right there, we're going to get you out of here!" Spider-Man is walking towards them with Ghost-Spider.
Both Spider-Man Man and Ghost-Spider picked up the two women and carried them on their shoulders.
"Hang on!!!" Spider-Man says to the two women.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider rushed out of the burning apartment and jumped out of the window as they swing across towards the other building to safety. Both heroes put them down on their feet to check if they have any complications from the fire, to see if any of them are alright.
"Okay, you're both safe now." Ghost-Spider says to the two women.
They approached them as they raised their arms with this gauntlets ready, both spider senses went off at the same time, they noticed something on their wrists.
"Look out!!!" Ghost-Spider alerted Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider both jumped and did some backflips as they've both dodge the tasers. Both women removed their blankets off and showed themselves off as wearing black catsuits with golden belts with red hourglasses on the buckle, they've made their move as they aimed their gauntlets at both sides at their targets. Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider did the same as they're aimed their webshooters at the two women, all four are aiming at one another as they're caught in a standoff. Both spiders immediately recognized the two women as their substitute teachers.
"You?!" Spider-Man is confused.
"That's right, Little Spiders... or is it Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy." Natasha knew Spider-Man's and Ghost-Spider's identities.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider both were shocked that they knew their secrets. All four are still aiming their wrists at either direction of their opponents, waiting for one of them to make a move.
"Looks like we've got ourselves a Mexican standoff." Spider-Man says to the two women.
"Looks like it." Natasha says to Spider-Man.
"It's nothing personal, but we have a mission to complete. Why not make it easier and surrender yourselves to us, or we'll have to do it the hard way." Yelena tells the two heroes.
"Afraid we can't do that." Ghost-Spider tells the Black Widows.
"Then I guess we'll have to do it the hard way." Natasha says to the heroes.
"Looks like it." Spider-Man says to Natasha.
They're all still aiming their weapons at one another from both sides and are stuck in a standstill, Spider-Man looks to his left, he sees Natasha who then turns her towards Ghost-Spider, she turns her head towards Yelena, and she turns to Spider-Man, none of them have made a move yet.
Their spider sense tingles as Yelena made the first move as she fired her tasers at both of them, they've jumped up in the air and fired their webbing back but the two Widows rolled over and dodged the webbing. Both heroes landed on the ground as the two Widows got up on their feet.
"Impressive, not a lot of people can avoid our webs so easily." Spider-Man is impressed.
"You'd be surprised what we're capable of." Natasha says to Spider-Man.
Yelena and Natasha hold themselves back and waited for the spiders to make their move, they're holding flash bang grenades hidden behind their backs. Both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider charged at them and the Widows both tossed the flash bangs at them, before the heroes knew it, it was already too late. The flash bangs went off and disrupted all their senses, leaving them both vulnerable.
Yelena and Natasha took the opportunity to strike back while the spiders are still vulnerable, they've both unleashed tasers from their gauntlets, both spiders are shocked by too much voltage in their bodies as Ghost-Spider is the one going down first. Spider-Man still remains strong as he's trying to get back up and fight back. Both Widows are surprised by how resilient Spider-Man is, Natasha took the final shot of her taser to Spider-Man's forehead, knocking him out unconscious, both spiders are down.
"I'm sorry, Little Spider." Natasha felt a bit of remorse.
"Mission success, now let's get them both ready to transport home." Yelena tells Natasha.
Both Black Widows approached the unconscious spiders as their fate is now in their hands.
It's midnight at the airport, both Peter and Gwen are dressed in regular clothes sitting in wheelchairs being escorted by Natasha and Yelena dressed as doctors.
"How are the patients?" Natasha asking Yelena.
"They've been heavily sedated, enough to put an elephant to sleep. These two have higher metabolism than any human, their bodies burns off sedatives very quickly. But it should be enough to keep them under on the trip home." Yelena informs Natasha.
They've seen the TSA men ahead as they've got everything ready to smuggle them both out of the country.
"Alright, here we go." Natasha tells Yelena.
Both Widows approached the TSA men blocking their way to the private jet.
"Hold it right there. Where are you taking theses kids?"
"Cuba, they're on the organ transplant list awaiting surgery. Here are their passports and all the paperwork." Natasha acting like a doctor.
The TSA man took a hold of couple of fake passports and documents for both teens.
"Wait here."
The TSA man went to his computer to scan the fake passports for Peter and Gwen under different names. The computer scanned them both and runs them through the database. Natasha and Yelena both remained cool while Peter and Gwen are still sedated. The computer didn't raise any red flags and green light the all clear.
"Alright, everything checks out. Have a safe trip."
"Thanks, we counting on it." Yelena says to the TSA guy.
Natasha and Yelena have been all clear to pass on through with Peter and Gwen in wheelchairs. They all approached the private jet awaiting them.
"Is the plane in Cuba ready?" Natasha asking Yelena.
"It's all fueled up and ready to take us all the way to Russia." Yelena informs Natasha.
Natasha couldn't help but feeling guilty for taking two teenagers away from their homes. She got the flashback of her first time being taken in by the Red Room.
(Flashback)
Years ago in the Red Room, a young Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova are taken along with other girls their age by Red Room operatives against their will. All the girls are lined up to meet the headmistress of the training facility.
"Welcome children, you've all been chosen. As of right now, the Red Room is your new home."
(Present)
Natasha is looking at the two teens, she's still thinking about her youth and how she was robbed of her childhood by the organization she now serves, she never chose this life, it chose her.
"Natasha?!" Yelena tries getting her attention.
"Huh? Did you say something?" Natasha snapped back to reality.
"Are you alright?" Yelena asking Natasha.
"Yeah, I'm fine... let's get going." Natasha walks with Yelena.
The two spies boarded the jet with Peter and Gwen as their captives. After everyone is on board, the plane took off and left the airport, leaving New York, heading for Cuba where they're changing planes for Russia.
The next morning on a Saturday, the alarm clock rang as May Parker woke up and hit the snooze button, she stretched her arms and yawned.
She puts on her slippers and walked out of her room, she then went to check up on Peter who might be still sleeping, she knocks on the door hoping to wake him up.
"Peter, it's morning, time for breakfast!... Peter?!" May heard no reply from Peter.
May opens the door to check up on him, only to find that his bed is still made and he hasn't come back home from his superhero duties.
May sighed. "Still out there, huh?"
May pulled out her phone and dialed Peter, the phone is still ringing as she awaits him to call back.
"Come on, pick up." May whispering to herself.
"This is Peter Parker, sorry I'm not at the phone right now, please leave a message at the tone."
May hangs up as Peter didn't call back as she knows that he's never out patrolling in the morning, he always sleeps in. She then dialed Gwen Stacy hoping that she's with Peter, she still awaiting for her to answer the call.
"Hi, this Gwen Stacy, leave a message as the beep."
May is now getting very worried since neither Peter nor Gwen are calling back, something is seriously wrong. She then called George Stacy hoping that Gwen is with him but she has a terrible feeling something bad has happened.
"Hello?" George Stacy answered the call.
"Hey George, I'm sorry to call you so early. But I was wondering if Gwen is at your house right now." May asking George Stacy.
"No, in fact she didn't come home last night. I thought she was with Peter." George Stacy says to May.
"So did I, he didn't get home last night either, I tried calling him, but to no avail. I even tried calling Gwen hoping that she's with Peter, but still no luck reaching her." May says to George Stacy.
"Now I'm really worried, we need to go find them." George Stacy says to May.
"Peter told me that his and Gwen's suits have GPS in them for emergencies. Can you come by the house and pick me up?" May asking George Stacy.
"Okay, I'll be right there." George Stacy says to May.
May hangs up as she's getting very worried for her nephew, she had a feeling something is wrong. She went into Peter's room and picked up a spider-tracer tracker inside the desk. She had hoped that it would lead her and George to Peter and Gwen.
Sometime later in Queens, a unmarked police sedan stopped by a warehouse near the airport, George and May got out of the car to see that the tracker traced it to this place.
"Are you sure this is the place?" George Stacy asking May.
"No, but their signals are coming from inside this building." May says to George Stacy.
"Alright, stay behind me." George pulled out his gun and cocked it.
George approached the warehouse door with May behind him, he carefully opened it and checked the corner for any potential threats. George looked around to find no one is here, he and May went inside to find Peter and Gwen.
"I don't see them!" George Stacy says to May.
May uses the tracker to follow the signal to both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider's suits, she got a strong signal coming from nearby. She and George follows it and finds a crate nearby, she held the tracker close to it and it started beeping strongly.
"Stand back, allow me." George Stacy volunteers to open the crate.
May follows his advice and took a step back as he got both hands on the lid, he then opens it with all his strength and got the crate lid off. George became shocked by what he's seeing, May came in closer to George and looked down inside the crate to find both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider's suits inside along with their webshooters, but no Peter or Gwen.
"What the?" May is confused.
"It's just their suits." George Stacy says to May.
"If they're not here, then where are they?!" May is very worried.
Meanwhile in Russia, a private plane is touching down on a airfield where a lot of Red Room operatives with guns are awaiting the plane and its precious cargo, the spider heroes. The headmistress of the Red Room facility is leading the operation. The plane has finally stopped as the hatch opens, Natasha and Yelena are the first ones to get off the plane to see the welcome party.
"Agents Romanoff and Belova, well done, you've done the Red Room and your country proud."
"Thank you, headmistress." Natasha speaks in Russian.
"Always a pleasure." Yelena speaks in Russian.
The operatives unloaded both Peter and Gwen strapped down and sedated, both heroes are now in Russia and in the hands of the Red Room.
"Get them to the facility immediately!"
Both Peter and Gwen are taken in the back of vans under heavy guard. Natasha and Yelena got into the sedan with the headmistress as the convoy is leaving the airstrip and heading for the Red Room facility.
Back home in Queens at the Stacy Residence, both George and May are very worried since both the heroes suits have been abandoned with no Peter nor Gwen. The doorbell rang as George gets up and walks to the door, he opens it to see Mary Jane has arrived.
"Mary Jane, thank you for coming. Please come in." George Stacy invited Mary Jane inside.
Mary Jane came in the house to see May and George with worried looks on their faces.
"Mary Jane, I'm so glad that you're here." May is worried.
"Sure. What's this about?" Mary Jane has no idea.
"Both Peter and Gwen have been missing since last night, we believe they may have been abducted." George Stacy explained to Mary Jane.
"Abducted?" Mary Jane says to George Stacy.
"Neither of them came home last night, and we've tried to contact them, but to avail. We traced their suits to a warehouse near the airport in Queens, looks like they've been stripped and left their suits behind." George Stacy explained to Mary Jane.
"My god... any ideas who might've taken them?" Mary Jane asking George Stacy.
"No, but if they've managed to abduct them, then that means that..." George Stacy was about to finish his sentence.
"... that they know who they both are." Mary Jane finished the sentence.
George and May are very worried for them both and has no idea where in the world they are.
"Got any ideas on how to find them?" Mary Jane is wondering.
"I had thought about reporting them both missing, but we have to wait 48 hours." George Stacy says to Mary Jane.
"But we can't do that, George, then we'll have to explain the real reason they've gone missing." May is against this idea.
George sighed. "You're right, we can't risk outing their secrets as superheroes, that could prove to be more dangerous as they've made a lot of enemies who would do anything to get back at them. Right now, I don't have many options, even though I'm a police captain, my reach is only to five boroughs, I don't have many pulls with everyone beyond New York."
"Wait... there might be another way to find them." Mary Jane has a suggestion.
"You have a better idea, we're all ears." George Stacy is interested.
"Peter has talked about his past ventures as Spider-Man, and during those times, he's has worked with a international spy agency who's well aware of his double life as Spider-Man." Mary Jane explained to them.
"So you're saying that these people might be able to help us find them?" George Stacy says to Mary Jane.
"It's the only option we've got so far." Mary Jane says to them.
"Any idea how to contact them?" May asking Mary Jane.
"No... wait! Come to think of it, Peter did tell me that one of the Avengers works for them on missions, and that he lives nearby here in New York." Mary Jane knows someone who can get in contact.
"Where?" May wants to know.
"Brooklyn." Mary Jane tells them where to find this guy.
"Then let's go to Brooklyn then, we have no time to waste." George Stacy says to them.
Everyone went out the door to head for Brooklyn to find the man who is an Avenger and can help them get in contact with S.H.I.E.L.D..
In Brooklyn, Steve Rogers is inside wearing his workout clothes, he's exercising by doing push-up with only one arm without any difficulty nor breaking a sweat.
"198... 199... 200." Steve stopped counting and doing push-ups.
Steve got up on his feet and heads towards the kitchen, he opened the refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of orange juice. He was about to drink it from the bottle until the doorbell rang, he stopped and wondered who it could be.
Steve opens the door to find a teenage redhead and a couple of older adults here, none of them looked familiar to him.
"Can I help you?" Steve is confused.
"Actually you can, Steve Rogers." Mary Jane says to Steve.
"I'm sorry miss, you must have the wrong guy. Have a good day." Steve is closing the door.
"I know you're Captain America!" Mary Jane revealed his identity.
Steve stopped the door from closing as soon as he heard those words, he opened back up. Both May and George are shocked to hear that they're meeting Captain America in person.
"How?" Steve is surprised.
"Because I know Peter Parker, he's Spider-Man." Mary Jane knows Spider-Man too.
"Who are you?" Steve asking Mary Jane.
"I'm Mary Jane Watson, his neighbor and best friend, he trusts me with his secrets, he even told about you, Cap." Mary Jane says to Steve.
Steve sighed. "Come on in."
Mary Jane, May, and George all went inside Steve's home, they all made it to the living room to talk.
"Okay, so you know who I am, but I'm guessing that you didn't come all this way just to meet Captain America." Steve suspects something more.
"No, in truth, we need your help. My friends Peter and Gwen are both missing since yesterday, we think that they're in trouble." Mary Jane explained to Steve.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know. How can I help?" Steve wants to help them.
"Peter told me that you and him work for a top secret organization." Mary Jane says to Steve.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Steve says to Mary Jane.
"Yeah, we need your help to get in touch with them, they maybe our only hope to finding them." Mary Jane says to Steve.
"Please Captain Rogers, we're desperate, this is our kids we're talking about." May pleaded with Steve.
Steve sighed. "Alright... let me get changed. Then we're all going to S.H.I.E.L.D. together."
"Thank you, Captain America." George Stacy says to Steve.
At the Red Room facility in Russia, Natasha and Yelena are escorting Peter and Gwen still unconscious through the hallways. Natasha looks to her right to see other Black Widows like herself and Yelena all training and practicing their skills, she then remembers her time being trained.
(Flashback)
A teenage Natasha is dressed in a karategi along with Yelena and the other trainees as they're all practicing martial arts simultaneously move for move.
Another flashback has them practicing their marksmanship with firearms, they're all shooting at the target range with near perfect accuracy.
Next, Natasha and Yelena would use dummy knives to train in Kali in knife fighting, they've proven to be even match in combat until Natasha gained the upper hand and sweep Yelena off her feet and held the knife to her neck.
(Present)
Natasha looked back at the two captive teens they've taken far away from their home, she's doing exactly what the Red Room has done to her in her youth, taking them away from their families. The headmistress is in front still walking as she speaks.
"Alright, split them up, one in each lab!"
Yelena split up and takes Gwen into another room as Natasha still has Peter strapped down on a stretcher unconscious.
Natasha took Peter into one of the laboratories of the facility, she left him there all alone for the scientists to do their work later. She can't help but feeling guilty for ripping Peter away from his home.
"I'm sorry." Natasha whispered to an unconscious Peter.
Natasha walks away leaving Peter all alone in a room.
Back in New York, at the Triskelion, headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D., Steve Rogers is escorting Mary Jane, May, and George into the building as they've made it to the office of Director Nick Fury. Nick is sitting at his desk talking with Phil Coulson and Deputy Director Maria Hill, Steve came into the room first.
"Director Fury!" Steve getting Nick Fury's attention.
"Its your day off, I did not summon you, Captain Rogers." Nick Fury says to Steve.
"Sir, there's been a complication." Steve says to NickFury.
The door behind Steve opens as Mary Jane, May, and George all enter the office, May is shocked to see Phil Coulson here.
"Phil!" May is shocked.
"Hello May, it's been a long time." Phil Coulson says to May.
Mary Jane is shocked. "You know this guy?"
"It's a long story, but right now is not the time. We got bigger problems to deal with." May says to Mary Jane.
"Captain, care to explain why you've brought three civilians into a highly classified government building without proper clearance." Nick Fury asking Steve.
"These three need our help, both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are missing, they've been abducted." Steve explained to Nick Fury.
"How can you so sure?" Nick Fury asking them.
"Because we found their suits ditched, and we haven't heard back from them, something is seriously wrong. The kids are in danger and we need your help to find them." George Stacy asking Nick Fury for help.
Nick Fury could see the seriousness in their eyes, they're all desperate to find Peter and Gwen by any means necessary.
"Hill, Coulson, have all our resources at our disposal searching for Parker and Stacy effective immediately." Nick Fury orders his agents.
"Yes, Director Fury. We'll get on it at once." Phil Coulson complied.
Maria Hill and Phil Coulson got started in their search for Peter and Gwen, wherever they are.
At the Red Room facility, a doctor is drawing out a sample of Peter's blood for study, he then looks at the IV bag full of sedatives and noticed that they're going very low soon. He pulled out the bag and went out to get a replacement. But unknown to anyone, Peter's hand started to move slowly.
Later the doctor returned with a full bag of sedatives, only to find the patient isn't on the stretcher, he then got surprised by Peter Parker awaken and not looking too happy, he got pinned against the wall.
"Who are you and where am I?!" Peter isn't too happy.
The man is speaking in Russian and unfortunately Peter doesn't understand what he's saying, but the man looks too scared.
"What?" Peter is clueless.
Peter looks around and sees the stretcher we was on, he then pulled the man and forced him on top of the stretcher, he strapped the man down to keep him from escaping, the man tries to scream out until Peter put a cloth on his mouth to stop his screaming.
"Sorry about that, pal. If you even understand me." Peter says to the doctor.
Peter then left the lab to see that he's in some kind of facility he's never seen before, he walks around hoping to sneak around undetected. He's still feeling the effects of the sedatives in his body slowly fading away, but right now he doesn't have his suit nor his webshooters.
He heard a couple of footsteps coming his way, a couple of security guards passed by the hall unaware that Peter is hiding himself up on the ceiling as he looks down to see them passing by. He jumped down after the coast is clear.
He still ventures around to find a lot of Russian letters he's unfamiliar with, he passed by a training room to see a group of women dressed in black all practicing together, they're dressed exactly like the two women he and Gwen encountered last night.
"What is this place?" Peter is very confused.
Peter continues on through the facility as unknown to him, he passed a security camera as the headmistress of the Red Room is watching. Peter found another lab up ahead like the one he was trapped in. He ran up closer to take a better look through the window, he spotted Gwen Stacy still sleeping alone.
Peter tapped the lab window. "Gwen!!!"
Gwen is waking up to find that she's strapped down on the stretcher in a lab, she looked around and sees Peter outside the lab.
"Peter!!!" Gwen yelled out.
"I'm here, Gwen! I'm going to get you out of here!" Peter says from outside.
The headmistress from her office activated the alarms all around the facility. The doors to the lab got shut pretty tight as the whole facility is going on lockdown. Peter tries to get into the room to retrieve Gwen who is held prisoner, but the door is made out of titanium, he tries to use all his strength to break on through but he's still weaken by the sedatives in his body.
"Come on! Open!" Peter is struggling to get the door open.
Inside the lab the whole room is filling up with gas as Gwen is still trapped and coughing as she's losing consciousness again, Peter looked to see that Gwen is getting sleepy again.
"Dammit!!! Open!!!" Peter tries harder than before.
Peter still couldn't get the door opened as he hears footsteps running towards him, he's soon to have company. He refused to leave Gwen behind but he's at a disadvantage right now with no weapons and his powers severely weaken. If he gets captured again, then no one will come to save him and Gwen. He looked at an unconscious Gwen as he had to make a hard choice he's not going to like.
"Gwen!!! I will come back for you!!! I promise!!!" Peter made a promise to Gwen.
Red Room security is closing in as Peter reluctantly runs away and leaving Gwen behind for now. The hallways are closing up slowly as Peter is moving as fast as he can to make sure that he didn't get captured. Meanwhile the Black Widows are mobilized as Natasha and Yelena are responding to the alarm.
Peter made it pass the lockdown as he crossed paths with many Black Widows in his path, Natasha and Yelena included. Yelena pulled out her gun and aimed it at Peter.
"Stay right there, you have no where to go! You're frozen like a deer caught in headlights." Yelena threatening Peter.
Peter is cornered as there is a squad of highly trained assassins standing in his way, he sees a window nearby but the floor he's on is very high up and it's a long way down.
"That's where you're wrong, I'm no deer." Peter says to the Black Widows.
Peter moved quickly as he jumped out of the window, the Windows became shocked as they came up to the ledge to see Peter running down the walls with his clinging ability.
"Are you kidding me?" Yelena is disappointed.
Peter kept running down until he finally made it to the ground, but he's still not out of the woods yet as the forces on the ground spotted him and tries to stop his escape.
"Get him!!!"
Peter started running away from the facility as fast as he can, he spotted a tall fence in his way, he even spotted a jeep driving towards him, he still kept running towards the fence until he used up his strength to leap high enough to get over the fence. His feet almost got caught in the razor wires but luckily he was able to avoid touching it, he made it over to the other side. He looked back to see the jeep tries to stop itself but was too late as it crashed into the fence.
Peter look around to see that he high up on a snowy mountain and it's still a long way down, but he looks back to see many forces still heading his way. He looked at the crashed jeep and sees that it's wrecked, he ran up closer and pulled the door off hard. As the forces are getting closer, he took the door with him and used it to snowboard off the mountain.
Natasha, Yelena, and the other Widows were too late to stop him from escaping as he sledding down the mountain, Peter is getting far away from the facility as much as possible.
"Damn it!" Yelena is disappointed.
"I have to admit, he is relentless." Natasha is impressed.
(Later)
After he escaped from the Red Room, Peter made it to the bottom of the mountain, he began to shiver as he only wearing a white t shirt, sweatpants, and shoes, he's freezing cold in the snow.
"Should've taken a sweater or a jacket at least." Peter is still feeling cold.
Peter then heard a train honking its horns as he looked to see a train yard about a mile and a half away, he started moving towards that direction despite feeling cold and weaken hoping to hitch a ride far away from here.
Back at the Triskelion, George, May, and Mary Jane have been waiting in Fury's office for hours hoping to hear some news on Peter and Gwen's whereabouts. May has been unusually quiet as George could tell something is bothering her.
Mary Jane sighed. "I wonder if this place has snacks or drinks. I'm going to look around, want anything?"
"No, thank you." May says to Mary Jane.
"I'm good, thank you." George Stacy says to Mary Jane.
"Okay, I'll be back in a few." Mary Jane walked out of the office.
George and May are completely alone as he's curious about somethings May is keeping to herself concerning Coulson.
"Now that we're all alone, care to explain." George Stacy asking May.
"Explain what?" May says to George Stacy.
"About this guy, this Coulson, you seemed to know him." George Stacy figured out.
"It's a long story." May tries to hide it.
"We don't know how long this search will take, so humor me." George Stacy wants to know.
May sighed. "Everything I say never leaves this room, do you understand?"
"My daughter is a superhero, secrets are something I know all too well." George Stacy smiled at May.
"No one knows the truth of Peter's parents, not even Peter himself. Me and Ben have been keeping a big secrets about them for years, secrets that we never wanted Peter to know." May explained to George Stacy.
"What secrets?" George Stacy still wants to know.
"His parents Richard and Mary were both secret agents, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to be more precise." May revealed the truth.
George is shocked. "Wow! I was not expect that, this is huge."
"When Peter was very little, his parents would often leave him with us to be taken care of while they were off traveling on their missions abroad. We never know when or if they would ever come back since the missions they've gone on were very dangerous. It was going great until one day, Phil Coulson came by the house and told me and Ben that they've both died in a plane crash on their way back home, he didn't give out details on how or why they've died. I was very angry that day and told him to get the hell out of our house, and I never saw him again, till today." May explained about Peter's parents.
"I'm sorry that you had to relive all that." George Stacy says to May.
"I wanted Peter to have a better life than the one that his parents had, but that proved impossible since he ended following their footsteps on his own whether I like it or not." May says to George Stacy.
George Stacy smiled. "I get you, more than you know. I never wanted Gwen to have this life either. But that's the thing about kids, we never know which parent they'll take after. Gwen ended being more like me, I guess you say that it's in her blood, and it's the same for Peter too."
"Yeah... I see that now." May says to George Stacy.
Mary Jane came into the room with a cup of coffee and a bag of chips.
"You know, for a top secret spy agency, they sure do have vending machines." Mary Jane tells both George and May.
May and George both remained quiet as Mary Jane sensed there was something they were discussing about in private.
"Is everything alright?" Mary Jane asking them.
May and George still remained quiet until Nick Fury, Steve Rogers, and Phil Coulson came into the office.
"Mr. Fury, is there any progress?" May asking Nick Fury.
"It's Director Fury to you, and yes, we got a lead. Coulson, show them." Nick Fury tells Coulson.
"We've ran both their photos for any hits in the system, and we found one. Last night, a couple of female doctors were escorting two teenagers unconscious in wheelchairs under the guise of being transported and awaiting organ transplant. TSA cleared them and allow them to leave on the plane." Coulson explained about Peter and Gwen's abduction.
"To where?" May is asking.
"Cuba." Coulson tells them.
"Cuba? So they're there right now in another country." George Stacy asking Coulson.
"Not exactly, our agents over there checked, and it looks like they've ditched the plane as soon as they landed in Cuba, only to took another flight to cover their tracks." Nick Fury explained to them.
"Who are these women who took them?" May asking Nick Fury.
"Unknown, but we got this footage from airport security cameras. Show them, Agent Coulson." Nick Fury tells Coulson.
Coulson connects the footage to the big screen as Mary Jane, George, and May watched the footage to see Peter and Gwen unconscious in wheelchairs being escorted by two females doctors, Mary Jane immediately became shocked as she recognized them both.
"No, it can't be." Mary Jane is shocked.
"What? You know who they both are?" George Stacy asking Mary Jane.
"Yeah, they're the new substitute teachers are our school." Mary Jane tells them.
"Are you sure it's them?" Coulson asking Mary Jane:
"Positive, I recognize their faces." Mary Jane is absolutely sure.
"Well, whoever they are, we've ran them through facial recognition and ran their prints, we've got nothing, these two are ghosts." Coulson tells the group.
"What are these two women mixed up in?" Nick Fury is wondering.
About a mile and a half away from the site where Peter landed, a group of Black Widows followed the tracks Peter left behind and traced it to the train yard, but still no sign of Peter Parker.
(Red Room Facility)
The headmistress is in her office with Natasha and Yelena as they listen to a widow on radio.
"No sign of the escapee, we've tracked his trail to the train yard but it looks like he's long gone."
"Understood, return to base immediately."
"Yes, headmistress."
"This is unacceptable, one boy managed to escape our most secured facility alone."
"He's no ordinary boy obviously, his powers gave him an edge even in his weaken state." Natasha tells the headmistress.
"But we shouldn't worry, we still have the other one sedated and under armed guard." Yelena talking about Gwen.
"That's the only good news, but we can't allow him to roam around freely with all he has seen, he knows too much. Any leads on where he is?"
"If he was at the train yard, then it's likely that he hitched a ride on one them, taking him to any of the four towns on their route." Natasha says to the headmistress.
"Then we'll have to divide our widows up, you both shall lead small teams and join the search for the missing spider wherever he is."
"And what do we do when we find him? He won't go down without a fight evidently." Yelena asking the headmistress.
"If you can't bring him back alive, then you are ordered to kill him on sight, bring his body back for an autopsy."
Natasha is shocked to hear those words, it was bad enough she and Yelena took them away from their homes, now she's ordered to kill him. She's done things she's not proud of, but killing a kid isn't one of them
"Yes, headmistress." Yelena comply with the order.
"Excellent Agent Belova, and you, Agent Romanoff?"
"Understood." Natasha reluctantly agreed to the order.
"Very well, get started."
Both Yelena and Natasha left the headmistress office as Natasha herself is still uncomfortable with this decision the Red Room gave to her.
In a town far from the Red Room, a train stopped by as Peter is hiding in a boxcar still feeling cold from being exposed to cold temperatures without any winter clothing.
Peter got off the boxcar to see that he's in town that is obviously not American, but Russian. He walks out and tries to find a place to hide himself and provide warmth for his cold body.
He still hides him away from any eyes as he climbs up onto the rooftop to overlook the town. He still feeling cold as he's becoming desperate to stay warm. He looks around to find a place that seemed deserted. He sees an apartment complex that seemed empty.
Peter climbed on through the window and finds that no one is living here, he closes the window quickly as he rushed to the heater and turns it on to higher temperatures, he looked around to find something to cover himself with, he found a blanket nearby and wrapped it around himself for warmth. He laid close to the heater letting the heat warm up his cold body, Peter felt tired from all the energy he used up to escape the Red Room and getting all the way here, he closes his eyes and rests for a bit.
Back at the Red Room, Gwen Stacy is still trapped and kept prisoner. She just woken up to find herself in an unfamiliar room.
"What... where am I?" Gwen is so confused.
The headmistress came into the room to see that the other spider is now awaken.
"Hello Ms. Stacy and welcome to the Red Room, I apologize for the cruel means to bring you here. But as a right now, time is of the essence."
"You? You're the one who arraigned our kidnapping, why?" Gwen asking the headmistress.
"Because you and your friend have something that valuable that is vital to our country's security and future."
"Our powers." Gwen figured it out.
"Very good, your powers are only one piece of the a much large puzzle we're putting together, my Black Widows have already gotten what they need from Iron Man and Captain America. We've managed to extract the blood from both you and your friend, we needed to study you both and your physiology, to know exactly how you got your powers, we plan to replicate them to create our own superhero. But your friend's escape was unanticipated, so we're now forced to switch to the next phase of this project."
A Red Room scientist came in with a helmet of some sorts, Gwen is worried what they're planning to do to her.
"What's that?" Gwen asking about the helmet.
"Let's just say that we've got some reprogramming to do. Not to worry, we've tested it out many times and only got small successes, but with your strong mind and body, you should be able to survive it. You may proceed."
The scientist came in closer to Gwen with the helmet as Gwen is scared of what's going to happen to her.
Meanwhile, Peter just woken up after being all warmed up after being out in the cold for too long. He gets off the floor and walks around the apartment to find something for him to change. He tries the closet and found some clothes for him to take.
(Outside)
An SUV came into the center of town, Natasha along with three Black Widows came out in search of Peter Parker who might be suspected to be in this town somewhere.
"Alright, start searching door to door until he is found, if he's even here. Once you find him, neutralize him and keep him alive, understood?" Natasha tells the team.
All Black Widows understood by nodding their heads.
"Alright, let's split up!" Natasha tells the team.
All four Black Widows split up and started their search around town hoping to find a lead on the little spider. Natasha is out there searching on her own as she noticed some snow shoved off an apartment ledge nearby, she had a hunch that was Spider-Man's doing.
(Inside)
Peter is now dressed in a hooded jacket, blue jeans, and snow boots. He then looked out the windows to see Nancy Rushman outside heading towards this apartment complex.
"Crap, these ladies don't give up." Peter says to himself.
Peter then leaves the apartment room and made it to the hallway as he was about to take the stairs, but he looked down to see Natasha climbing up and heading in his direction.
Peter turns around and went back through the hallway as he tries to open door to door without forcing his way in with his strength as to not draw attention to himself. None of them are opened as he's hearing footsteps coming closer to the floor, he move more forward and turn left at the corner as Natasha made it and walked down the hallway searching around.
Peter made it to a dead end with a single door without no other way out, he knocked on the door hoping someone will answer, Natasha is looking around door to door for the missing spider as her footsteps are getting closer. Peter is afraid of being discovered as he's at a big disadvantage without his webshooters in a country that is not his own.
The footsteps are heading his way as he's soon to be discovered, but the door behind him opens as an elderly woman sees a young man outside her apartment. Peter forced his way inside and shuts the door closed. Natasha came to the end of the hallway as only one door is left on this floor.
Peter is hiding inside the apartment of the old lady as she scared as to why he barged into her home, the door is knocking as Natasha is outside and Peter is desperate to stay hidden.
"Hello, I know someone is inside, please open up!" Natasha outside the door speaking Russian.
Peter tells the old lady to shush as he went into the closet and hides himself, the old lady opens the door and sees a redhead woman dressed in black. She enters the house and looks around for anything suspicious, Peter is still hiding in the closet hoping that she doesn't find him.
Natasha still couldn't find him as she looked back at the old lady looking rather odd, she moving her eyes towards the closet without saying a word. Natasha has no idea what she's trying to say, but she sensed something was off. Natasha look at the woman's eyes to see that she pointing to the closet, Peter took a peek and noticed that she's giving him away.
Natasha has her gauntlets ready but Peter came bursting out of the closet and caught her off guard. She tries to uses her taser but Peter caught her wrists and stopped her from shocking him, he pinned her wrists against the wall.
"Stop, Little Spider!! I don't want to hurt you!!" Natasha trying to reason with him.
"Too late!" Peter isn't too happy.
Natasha uses her knee to strike back below the belt and caught him by surprise as she dealt a lot of pain to him. Peter is still feeling the pain from that knee strike but his spider sense is still active as Natasha has her wrist pointing at him, she was about to shoot a taser until he caught her wrist and diverted the shot, he then aims her gauntlet back at her.
"Have a taste of your own medicine!" Peter says to Natasha.
The gauntlet fired a taser shot and hits Natasha on the chest, shocking her unconscious as she fell down to the floor. Peter got up and looked at an unconscious Natasha on the floor, he then looked at the old lady.
"Sorry about the mess." Peter apologize to her.
A few minutes later, Natasha is opening her eyes to see that she's tied up and hanging upside down in an apartment, she tries to get free but was unsuccessful. She tries to uses her gauntlets to escape but she soon learned that she doesn't have them.
"Looking for these?" Peter holding her gauntlets.
"I've underestimated you, Little Spider. Clearly you're not just some average teenager." Natasha says to Peter.
"Yeah, and you're not a schoolteacher obviously, Ms. Rushman, if that even is your real name." Peter says to Natasha.
"You're only delaying the inevitable, sooner or later, the Red Room will find you again, there is no escape for you here." Natasha says to Peter.
"I'm not planning to leave just yet, not without Gwen. So you're going to tell me how to get back into that facility you're holding her in." Peter is interrogating Natasha.
"And if I don't tell you?" Natasha says to Peter.
"Then I'll make you talk." Peter tries to intimidate Natasha.
Natasha smiled without fear. "No you won't. You don't have it in you."
"You don't know anything about me." Peter says to Natasha.
"I can see it in your eyes, you live a life surrounded by violence and yet you still don't do what needs to be done, killing. Believe it or not, Little Spider, I actually admire that." Natasha is being sincere.
Peter is still untrusting of her until her comm device started reaching her, it's one of the Black Widows.
"Agent Romanoff, are you there? Please respond!"
"You need to make a choice, if they don't hear back from me soon, they'll know something is wrong. Get me the comm device." Natasha asking Peter.
"Why? So you can tell your friends where to find me?" Peter says to Natasha.
"So that I can throw them off your trail, the Red Room has gave orders to kill you on sight, but whether you believe me or not, I don't want to. You need to choose now." Natasha tries persuading Peter.
Peter still doesn't trust her but he's all alone far away in a country that he doesn't understand, something inside him is telling him to put his trust in her. Peter picked up the comm device and holds it close to Natasha.
"Don't make me regret this." Peter says to Natasha.
"Agent Romanoff, please respond!"
"This is Agent Romanoff, I read you." Natasha replied back.
"We've lost contact with you for a while. What happened?"
"Nothing, my comm device was being glitchy, I didn't know that you were calling. But I'm fine, everything is fine. How goes the search?" Natasha lied to the Widow.
"Nothing so far, there's no sign of the target. He may not even be here at all. What do you want us to do?"
"Head back to the facility at once without me, I'm going to stick around for a while and see if we miss anything." Natasha made an excuse.
"Understood, heading back now."
Peter put away the comm device as he's surprised that she just protected him from her own people.
"Why did you do that? Why did you lie to them?" Peter is confused.
"I... I don't know." Natasha is unsure of her choice.
Peter looked out the window to see three Black Windows leaving the town in the SUV, exactly as Natasha ordered them to.
"They're leaving, exactly as you said." Peter says to Natasha.
"Yeah, but they'll be back eventually, this place isn't safe for you." Natasha says to Peter.
"And I suppose you know a safe place?" Peter says to Natasha.
"As a matter of fact, I do. Now cut me down and I'll take you there." Natasha says to Peter.
Peter has some doubt about trusting her since she and her friend kidnapped him and Gwen. But right now, he'll need some help in order to save his girlfriend from the clutches of the Red Room. Peter lower the rope holding her upside down, he then untied the ropes around her and set her free.
"Okay, take me there." Peter says to Natasha.
Meanwhile back at the Red Room facility, Gwen is screaming as the helmet on her head is doing something to her mind as the headmistress is watching her being reprogrammed.
"Don't fight it, we're almost there."
"I'll... never... join you..." Gwen is fighting the reprogramming.
"Never say never, you can keep fighting all you want but eventually you'll give in. You know, there was rumor that another helmet, exactly like the one you're wearing was once used on a solider that HYDRA once found, they've put him through the process of reprogramming his mind, he fought it so hard with all his will, but the process was too strong. In the end, they've rebuilt what was left of him and turned him into their very own super soldier. Soon Gwendolyne Stacy, you'll serve the Red Room and join the other Black Widows as the most powerful of them all."
Gwen still screamed as her mind is taking too much abuse of the reprogramming, her eye lens started to change from blue to red.
Back at the small town, Natasha lead Peter into a Red Room safe house, he looks around to see that it looked like an ordinary apartment.
"Are you sure this place is safe?" Peter has some doubts.
"Yeah, the last place they'd look, their own safe house. Trust me, you'll be safe." Natasha says to Peter.
"If you want my trust, you'll have to earn it." Peter says with distrust.
"Still don't trust me, do you?" Natasha says to Peter.
"Can you blame me? You and your whole sisterhood took me and Gwen far away from our homes, from our families." Peter says to Natasha.
Natasha is feeling guilt by everything Peter told her, what she did is exactly what the Red Room did to her, ripping them away from their families.
"I'm sorry, but I had no choice." Natasha says to Peter.
"You're wrong, there's always a choice." Peter says to Natasha.
"Not to me, I've never lived my life with choices of my own, not even when I was a little girl." Natasha says with sadness in her eyes.
"What?" Peter is very confused.
"Ever since I was very little, the Red Room took me in and made me into the person I am now. This person you see before your eyes is the result of everything the Red Room has given me. I never chose this life, it chose me. I don't expect you to understand." Natasha says to Peter.
"Actually... I know exactly what that's like. I never wanted to become a hero at first, I just wanted to be Peter Parker and nothing else. But instead fate chose me to become a hero whether I like it or not." Peter can relate his unfair life to Natasha.
"So why continue doing this? You could just walk away and live your life, so what kept you going?" Natasha is interested in knowing.
"My uncle died because I refuse to do the right thing before he died, and I guess that a part of me wanted to atone for that single mistake I made. I wanted to do right by him, by everyone, but sometimes I think that..." Peter was about to finish that sentence.
"... nothing you do will ever be enough to make up for all the wrongs you've made." Natasha finished that sentence.
"Exactly." Peter is surprised that Natasha understands.
"I've done things in my life, terrible things, I've deceived, seduced, lied, and killed all the name of the Red Room and for my country. I envy you, Peter Parker, despite being touched by darkness, you have a light inside you that no darkness can ever extinguish. I wish that I could be like you, doing what's right, but it's already too late for me." Natasha is saddened by who she is.
"Hey... it's never too late to change." Peter encourage Natasha to be better.
Natasha smiled as she felt better hearing those words.
"I'm sorry for taking you both away from you families." Natasha apologize to Peter.
"If you want to atone for everything you've done, then please help me save Gwen, I won't leave her behind, I just can't." Peter says to Natasha.
"Do you think that helping you will be enough to atone for all my sins?" Natasha asking Peter.
"No, but it's a first step in doing the right thing. And trust me, being good isn't always easy, but it's worth it." Peter says to Natasha.
Natasha smiled. "Okay... I'm in. Though we're going to need a plan. Got any suggestion?"
Peter is still thinking about how to break back into the Red Room, but he'll still need help getting out of the country, he turns his head and looks outside to see a huge satellite dish just outside of town.
"What is that?" Peter asking Natasha.
"That's a communications dish that the military owns, what are you thinking?" Natasha says to Peter.
"I may have a way to reach out to some allies back in the states. They might be able to help extract me and Gwen out of Russia." Peter has an idea.
"You're talking about breaking into a base and using their biggest toy to reach out to another country." Natasha says to Peter.
"Exactly." Peter is well aware.
"Okay, then let's go." Natasha says to Peter.
"Just one more thing, what is your name? Your real name?" Peter to know her true identity.
"It's Romanoff, Natasha Romanoff, but you can call me the Black Widow." Natasha Romanoff goes by the Black Widow.
"Nice to meet you, Natasha." Peter gave her his hand.
Natasha took his hand and they shake, at first they were enemies, now they've become allies and have agreed to work together to save Gwen from the Red Room.
