Yo! So, one of my reviewers pointed out that the next chapter is Syrus's promo. You're half-right. Syrus, along with all of the First Year Slifers from the previous story, became Ra's at the end of EOD. Because of that, this is not a promo, but rather another one of Edgar's schemes to make stars out of the students.

Also, I wanna thank the suggestions for Fiona's new deck! I've settled on the Fur Hire series and working on a rough idea on when she duels. I'm thinking of having our idiot Tennis star make a final appearance. But that's up in the air right now. For now, some Review answers!

Guest - Hmm, the Jurrac archtype is a Synchro based one...I can see him using it in the future chapters. Thank you so much for the idea!

Barryc10 - I have something VERY special planned for a third story. Xyz summoning will be part of it, make no mistake.

Now that the reviews are out of the way, I want to make something a little clear here regarding the characters. Lot of you seem to think that Amelia AKA Amy is based off of SEGA!Amy. This is not the case. I am using VERY early Pre-SGW Archie!Amy for this. Now before you all kill me, let me explain!

Pre-SGW Archie!Amy is, in my point of view, a brat. I forget which issue it was, given its been YEARS, since I last read the Archie Sonic comics, but one issue that always stood out to me was Amy Rose making herself older via a Power Ring that was Sonic's 1 millionth (Or was it 1 billionth?) to join the FF so she could be close to Sonic. Elias Acorn, Sally's older brother least in the Archie-verse, wanted to use the power ring to make their mother feel better without having to risk life and limb to get the cure from Robotnik/Eggman.

Long Story short, Amy Rose used the last bits of the Ring's power to age herself.

I'm sorry, but THAT always rubbed me the wrong way. Using a powerful artifact for such a selfish gain tells me where her priorities lie. Will she grow up and gain Happiness? Perhaps...but it probably won't be for a while. I'll try not to go too overboard, but I did give her Marian-Susan for a middle name. Look up the nicknames for those two and you'll see.

That out of the way, enjoy!

The weeks bled into a month for the second and first years. The Central top was teaching full time as were the teachers. Chazz was currently recording the various duels the Study Group was doing to use them for future use. Currently, Hassleberry was talking to Syrus. When he accidentally insulted the smaller yellow, that got started a shouting match.

"I am not short! I've just not hit my growth spurt! But you ever hear of showers?! How Miles can stand being around you is a mystery, private!"

"Now see here, them's fighting words! And I showered last week!"

"Stay UNDER the water then!"

The two glared lightning bolts at one another. Chazz groaned, pausing his recording and walking over to the two. Asking what was going on, it devolved into another shouting match. Chazz clapped his hands over his ears, the two coming close to blows.

Several boys pushed back Hasslberry while Harry grabbed Syrus.

"Easy, Sy! You'd know what Jaden would do if you start brawling instead of dueling!"

"Yeah, you do not want to make him disappointed in us do you?" James asked.

Syrus calmed down, but still glared at Hassleberry.

"For your information, I do too have as much talent as my older brother!"

"Yeah? Then how come he's a pro and you ain't!?"

Chazz unplugged his ears, scowling.

"SHUT UP! Syrus has got a LOT of potential much like his brother. Trust me, I've seen him duel and he's come a long way since the entrance exams."

Syrus smiled.

"Thanks Chazz."

The boy nodded, giving a thumbs up. The groups all headed into the Slifer Dorm, their home away from homes. Professor Sweet smiled, looking at the groups. He put out their lunches, various salads, fish, burgers, the works. While not Obelisk Blue cuisine, it was paradise for the Reds and a step up from last year. The second year and former Reds all saluted a picture of Banner, making Hassleberry pause.

"Whose that guy?" He asked, pointing at the picture.

"That is a picture of Professor Lyman Banner, the former head of the Red Dorm." Professor Sweet said, crossing his arms. "He passed away last year due to a rare disease his family had. He made the Slifer Red Dorm feel quaint and homely. Nearly everyone here knew of him. He was a good friend and a surrogate father."

Hassleberry went quiet, looking at the image. He gave a silent salute to it.

There was a knock at the door and everyone looked up. Professor Sweet got up and opened it, revealing Jasmine, Mindy, and Alexis. He ushered the three in, confusion on his face.

"Girls', what's wrong?" The Professor asked.

The three explained. Edgar Snivels had cornered Alexis and made demands of her to dress up and sing pop songs while dueling. Saying that CDA was going to be place for stars and pros to shine. Here, Professor Sweet scowled, crossing his arms.

"That man...he's using a lot of loopholes to get around Midori. It's no doubt making her frustrated as hell." Jason said.

Alexis pulled out a red dress, holding it up to her body.

"Can you imagine me wearing something like this?"

Here, Jason smirked.

"Maybe not in dueling, but to show off to Jaden? Most likely."

The girl blushed red, now imagining how Jaden would react to her dress. Lost in the fantasy, Jasmine and Mindy took over. They pulled out matching Bunnygirl suits, grimacing. Everyone cringed, seeing the items in question. Even Professor Sweet looked enraged.

"That slimy little toad wanted me and Mindy here to be like Gambler Angel Bunny when dueling. Sorry, but that is only reserved for our future boyfriends." Jasmine snarled, tossing the item to the floor.

"So is it alright for us to crash here? Headmistress Fontaine already gave her approval." Mindy asked.

Jason nodded, stating that they were allowed to crash. There was ANOTHER knock and everyone turned to the opened door. There, standing in the door way, was the King of the Ring himself. He had a very pissed off expression on his face. Asking if Edgar trying to get him to use his fame to increase his own rep was the cause to making him flee to the Red dorm, the golden eye teen shook his head.

"It's Amelia. She broke into my room. Funny enough, the cameras just happened to be down for maintenance."

"So its your word against hers. Damn..." Jason said, scowling. "You can use Chumley's old room..."

Seeing Jasmine, Mindy, and Alexis, Jaden asked why they were there. After telling him, Jaden groaned.

"Crazy assholes to the left, crazy fangirls to the right." The king moaned.

Yet ANOTHER knock had everyone groaning. Bastion walked in, frowning. One explanation later, Bastion understood the entire situation. Thankfully, he was not here to join them. Rather, he was here for Syrus.

"Huh? Why me?" Syrus asked.

"Edgar is at it again, this time trying to make you a star. He wants you to duel one of the New Obelisk Blue Freshmen who if wins, goes onto the Pros."

"And what does Syrus get? He's already Ra Yellow." Jaden said, crossing his arms.

"I'm not too sure, but perhaps this could be used to influence his chances into getting into Obelisk Blue."

"So I'm to be a guinea pig huh...whose my opponent?" Syrus asked, scowling.

Bastion told them it was a First Year girl by the name of Missy. Alexis frowned, recalling the name. She used insects, Weevil Underwood being her main inspiration to her deck. Missy rubbed Alexis the wrong way the first day they met.

"She was haughty, arrogant even. Not to mention obsessed with Zane." Alexis said.

Here, Syrus pulled out his deck, looking at it.

"Guess its time to debut my Techno-Mages."

EODGX

Everyone had been running for the Duel Arena when word got out. The Central top and GX crew were all seated together, the girls jealously defending their spots against fangirls or Amelia. Said pink haired teen was most put out that her Maurice and Jadey were both surrounded by 'harlots' in her mind. She ended up sitting next to Jerome, the boy sulking at having to spend his second year in Slifer.

They were ignored as they watched Syrus step out and onto the arena. On the opposite side stood a girl with red hair, wearing the a modified version of the Girls' uniform with a locket around her neck. Many of the younger boys were smitten with her, calling her the 'Insect Princess' of Blue. All Syrus did was calmly attach his disk. Missy, seeing this, scoffed.

"Wow, so you're the brother of Zane. They send a little brat to duel me. Hon, do us a favor and just quit! Everyone knows Zaney had the talent of the family."

"You know, if you were here last year, then that insult would have fazed me. But I was trained to be the best by the very best. So let's shelve your pitiful display of trash talk, ready that disk of yours, and get ready to duel! " Syrus barked, making the girl falter.

While this was going on, Edgar was sitting, watching with a smug grin.

The odds are against this pipsqueak! I did all my research on him. His duel deck, his tactics...everything I know, Missy knows! Fame and glory, here I come! The man thought, cackling in his mind.

Missy: 8000/Syrus: 8000

"I'll start!" Missy cried out, drawing.

Glancing at the card that was drawn, she added it to her hand and then chose another. A lady in a pink dress and thorny vines for arms appeared.

"Meet Prickle Fairy. I summon her in defense!"

(Prickle Fairy – LV/****, Attribute/EARTH, ATK/300, DEF/2000, Type/Plant/Effect.

Your opponent cannot attack Insect monsters. If this card battled a monster, at the end of the Damage Step: Change that monster to Defense Position.)

"I'll end my turn."

"Then I'm up. Draw!" Syrus proclaimed.

Looking over his hand, he thought to himself. He needed to show off his new cards in a big way. Spying a spell, he smirked. Well, he wanted big!

"I play...Techno-Tome – Velocity!"

"WHAT?!" Everyone exclaimed in shock.

(Techno-Tome – Velocity – Type/Spell/Continuous.

Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 monster that has "Techno-Mage" in its name from your hand or GY. If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY; Add 1 "Techno-Tome" Spell card from your deck to your hand. Destroy this card on your 2nd Standby Phase.)

A spellbook with various circuits and resistors appeared, opening up. Syrus smirked, explaining the spell card. He could Special Summon one of his Techno-Mages from his graveyard or his hand.

"Let's give a big CDA cheer for...Techno-Mage Solaris!"

(Techno-Mage Solaris – LV/*******, Attribute/LIGHT, ATK/2500, DEF/2100, Type/Spellcaster/Effect.

This card's name is treated as "Dark Magician" while in the GY only. This card is also treated as Machine while on the field. When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, add 1 "Techno Fusion" OR "Techno-Mage Tome" Spell card from your deck to your hand.)

With a burst of light and fire, a man wearing white armor and holding a staff appeared. His right eye was Cybernetic, as was his left arm. He landed next to Syrus, the man smirking. Chazz commented that it looked like Dark Magician in attire only. Everyone agreed, stunned at the new monster.

"Thanks to him being summoned, I can add Techno Fusion from my deck to my hand. But now, I play it! I fuse my Techno-Mage Aria with my Techno-Mage Diva! Ladies! Show the power of the Techno-Mages!"

Two ladies appeared above, both having cybernetics. They swirled together and a new monster appeared.

"Meet Techno-Mage Morgana!"

(Techno Fusion – Type/Spell/Normal.

Fusion Summon 1 "Techno-Mage" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is in your GY, except the turn it was activated, you can Banish this card. Reveal 1 "Techno-Mage" Fusion monster and banish Monsters in your GY as Fusion Material listed on the card. (This is treated as Fusion Summon.)

(Techno-Mage Morgana – LV/*******, Attribute/DARK, ATK/2400, DEF/2000, Type/Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect.

"Techno-Mage Diva" + "Techno-Mage Aria"

Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Each time a Spell card is activated, place 1 Spell counter on this card. Increase the ATK by 100 multiplied by the number of counters on this card. Once per turn, you can remove 3 Spell counters; Special Summon 1 Level 5 or Higher Spellcaster monster from your deck or hand. This card's name is treated as "Dark Magician" while in your GY. This card is treated as Machine while on the field.)

Morgana was a lady draped in a black cloak with a string of cybernetics running from her eye to her forehead. In her hand was a large tome, containing several blue orbs on it. Syrus smirked at the shell shocked expression on Missy's face.

"Now, I play Pot of Greed, drawing two cards." Syrus said, drawing.

One of the orbs lit up, though no one really noticed. Syrus launched an attack on Missy, his Solaris blasting it away with his staff. Morgana was next, launching several electric orbs at the girl.

Missy: 5500

"ARGH! Damn, I was told you used Vechroids!" Missy shouted.

"I used to. But I won a tournament over the Summer that got me these new cards from Pegasus himself."

That earned a lot of whispers of shock. Syrus ended his turn with a facedown monster, letting Missy take over.

"Not bad. Sy hit her hard." Jason said, smiling.

"No joke. But I have to wonder...will we see this Synchro of Syrus's?" Fonda asked, looking at her fellow staff.

"Hard to say...this duel is just getting underway, but if Syrus has set his cards up...yeah, we'll get to see it. As for its name...It's called Techno-Mage Merlin. What its effect is...well, I'll leave that hidden for now." Fudo said, smiling widely.

Everyone was cheering for Syrus, the boy blushing, but not letting it go to his head. He was gonna make his entire group proud and show he could duel with the best!

Missy drew, adding the card to her hand. She played Tribute to the Doomed, discarding a Insect Knight monster. She destroyed Solaris. Then summoned to the field a Pinch Hopper. She revealed her Multiplication of Ant spell, sending her Pinch Hopper to the grave. Syrus frowned; true, she would get two Army Ant tokens, but Pinch Hopper's effect would activate. Meaning she was gonna summon a high level Insect monster!

"Judging by that look on your face, you realized what I'm doing. Yes, I summon my Insect Princess from my hand via Pinch Hopper's effect! She's sweet and strong!"

(Insect Princess – LV/******, Attribute/WIND, ATK/1900, DEF/1200, Type/Insect/Effect.

All Insect monsters your opponent controls are changed to Attack Position. If this card destroys an Insect monster by battle: This card gains 500 ATK.)

A tiny woman with four arms, butterfly wings and large eyes appeared. Syrus frowned; his deck did not contain an Insect types whatsoever so why play it? She had a combo planned, he was sure of it!

"Let's change the scenery shall we? I play my Insect Garden Field Spell!"

"Not good. That allows her to give her insects to Syrus." Bastion stated.

(Insect Garden – Type/Spell/Field.

While this card is face-up on the field, your opponent takes control of all face-up Level 4 or lower Insect-Type monsters you control.)

"So I get your tokens and you attack right?" Syrus asked, resigned.

"Well, you did get some good genes in you, namely the quick thinking. You're partially right, hon. I equip my Princess with Insect Pheromones!"

(Insect Pheromones – Type/Spell/Equip.

Equip only to "Insect Princess". If the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, you can force 1 of your opponent's face-up Insect-Type monsters to battle the equipped monster during the same Battle Phase.)

"Oh man..."

"Now attack his token, my Princess!"

The small monster charged, her jaw opening wide. Everyone was disgusted as the Princess ATE the token, taking out some of Syrus' Life points.

Syrus: 6600

Princess – ATK/1900 → 2400

"Now comes my Equip! That other token you have attacks! But its no match for my Princess so it too bites the dust!"

The ant charged at the monster, more cries of disgust coming from the noisy eating. Syrus flinched, but still standing.

Syrus: 4200

Princess – ATK/2400 → 2900

"I think I'll use my Double Summon spell and play my Magical Longicorn which I will give over to you. I made you suffer enough. Your turn."

(Magical Longicorn – LV/****, Attribute/EARTH, ATK/600, DEF/1600, Type/Insect/Effect.

While this card is in face-up Attack Position, negate the activation of your Spell Cards.)

A beetle with glowing eyes walked to Syrus field, the boy frowning.

"Draw!" Syrus exclaimed.

Looking at the card, he was shocked when he heard a familiar giggle. Appearing next to him was DMG!

"Hey Sy! Wow, she's got you on the ropes." DMG said, looking at Missy.

"Yeah, no joke...but I think its time to set the stage for you and him."

DMG squealed with delight, nodding. Syrus used Velocity to special summon Techno-Mage Gavin to the field.

(Techno-Mage Gavin – LV/****, Attribute/WIND, ATK/1500, DEF/1200, Type/Spellcaster/Effect.

When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, you can add 1 "Techno-Tome" spell card from your deck to your hand. This Card is also treated as Machine while on the field.)

A young boy in page's clothing appeared, one half of his face completely robotic. Syrus gained a Tome from his deck and added it to his hand. He then played it.

"I play Techno-Tome – Heat!"

(Techno-Tome – Heat – Type/Spell/Normal.

Choose 1 "Techno-Mage" in play. Increase its ATK by 500. It is unable to attack your opponent directly this turn.)

"Sorry but my Magical bug takes it out." Missy said, the beetle eating it.

Syrus didn't look too worried, in fact he was delighted. He followed it with Techno-Tome - Astro, only for it to be eaten as well. Syrus played another Techno-Tome – Quake only for it to be devoured like the one before it. Now smiling, he flipped his facedown monster.

"Meet the Tuner of the Techno-Mages, Techno – Mage Avis!"

(Techno – Mage Avis – LV/**, Attribute/LIGHT, ATK/800, DEF/1400, Type/Spellcaster/Tuner/Effect.

This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle. When this card is sent to the GY by a card effect, you can Special Summon it from your GY during your turn. Banish it when it leaves the field.)

Avis was a small girl, with a cybernetic eye patch on her left eye and a robotic leg on the right. In her hands was a small wand.

"Tuner?!" Missy cried out.

"Yep. And YOU helped me out big time Missy! I tune my level two Avis to my Level fours Magical Longicorn and Gavin!"

Avis waved her wand, the two monsters joining her as she became rings and stars. The three monsters joined together, Syrus smiling.

"Behold the most powerful of all the Techno – Mages...or rather, Techno – Master! I Synchro Summon Techno – Mage Merlin!"

There was a flash of light and an elderly man in sky blue robes and holding a large metal staff appeared. His face had several lines of circuitry running over it, part of his head a shiny metal.

(Techno-Mage Merlin – LV/**********, Attribute/LIGHT, ATK/3500, DEF/3000, Type/Synchro/Spellcaster/Effect.

1 "Techno-Mage" Tuner + 2 or More Non-Tuner Monsters.

Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This monster's effect is determined by how many "Techno-Tomes" the controller has in the GY. This card's name is treated as "Dark Magician" while in your GY.

1+: This card cannot be Destroyed by battle.

2+: Add 1 Spellcaster or Machine Type from your deck or GY to your hand.

3+: Banish 1 "Techno-Mage" monster from your GY to Target 1 card on your opponent's side of the field. Destroy the target.

4+: Draw 1 card.

5: Special Summon 1 Spellcaster OR Machine-type monster from your hand or Deck.)

"But why stop there! I play Techno-Tome – Supernatural!"

(Techno-Tome – Supernatural – Type/Spell/Normal.

Send 1 "Techno-Tome" to the GY. You can Normal Summon once more this turn. If the monster is Level 5 or higher, you do not need to offer a tribute. Take 1000 points of damage at the end of your turn.)

"Now, thanks to Supernatural, I send Velocity to my grave. Now I can normal summon once more this turn so I'll be playing my personal favorite...Dark Magician Girl!"

"WAIT WHAT?!" Everyone, sans the Central Top, cried out.

With a burst of bubbles and light, the infamous witch appeared, winking at the crowd, flying overhead. Landing next to Syrus, she gave a peck on his cheek, making many of the boys shoot death glares at him. Missy's eyes were wide and her jaw dropped.

"What, how!?"

"Oh, I just got lucky is all."

DMG – ATK/2000 → 2300

"What the? Syrus doesn't have a Dark Magician in his grave. He only has Solaris." Chazz pointed out.

"Unless...Solaris's name is treated as Dark Magician while in the grave!" Salome pointed out.

Syrus nodded, explaining that many of the higher leveled Techno-Mages had their names treated as Dark Magician within the grave. Normally, he'd also take control of any Machine types with some of the Techno-Mages, but took them out since Missy didn't have any but insects. Now it was time to go on the offensive.

"Uh, hello! My Princess is stronger then all of your monsters." Missy pointed.

"I know. So I'll use my Techno-Mage Merlin's effects."

Merlin gained effects based on the number of Techno-Tomes in his graveyard. He counted five; Velocity, Quake, Supernatural, Heat, and Astro. He used the Fourth effect of Merlin. He could banish a Techno-Mage from his grave and then destroy a monster in play. He banished Techno-Mage Avis, targeting Princess. Missy watched her monster be blasted away, shocked.

"Merlin! Show no mercy! Mystic Cyber Lightning!"

The man roared, conjuring a ball of white lighting and throwing it at Missy. Said girl yelled as the orb struck.

Missy: 2000

"No! I..." She gasped out, seeing DMG standing before her.

"Lose. DMG, attack with Black Specter blast!"

The blonde haired girl pointed her scepter at the girl, a blast of pink hitting her hard.

Missy: 0

"I won!" Syrus cheered, everyone following.

Edgar was fuming; that brat made a fool out of him! He stormed off, thinking of another plan to make stars and pros out of this school.

EODGX

Syrus sat with his old group, chuckling and smiling. Hassleberry was impressed at the way the boy handled himself.

"You've come a long way, Sy. Keep up the good work." Harry said, smiling.

All the boy did was nod. It was good to be popular for a change.

Techno - Mages. They were a seedling when I concluded Emperor. A quick run down of them; they are a Synchro Fusion deck meaning they support both Synchro and Fusion monsters. Most of the Higher Leveled Techno-Mages have the effect of their names being Dark Magician or Magician of Black Chaos while in the grave and only in the grave. This is mainly to support DMG.

The low to mid level Techno mages also have the ability to take over Machines. Granted, this didn't happen given that Missy used Insects, but they will be important later on during the GenX Tournament arc.Techno - Tomes have a variety of effects and based on Elements, methods of travel, or natural disasters which deals with summoning them but with costs later on.

If you guys have some more ideas for Techno - Mages, drop em in a review!
