Hey everyone! This chapter will be the one to set the stage for Fiona's new deck! After looking over your suggestions, I've chosen her new deck. Hope you all like the choice!
The weekend. A time for students and staff alike to relax from a week of hard quizzes, studying and tests or a chance to review and revise homework given on the later days of the week.
But for one small blond haired blue eyed boy, he was spending the first part of his weekend running around. Miles wasn't doing this because he was being chased. No, he was searching for his girlfriend, Fiona. She had been reclusive for the past few days, something Miles was worried about. Scourge showing up at CDA was a nasty enough surprise and was worried the green haired bastard was getting into her head again.
"Fi!?" He called out, near the Beach.
"Over here, Miles!"
Turning his head, he saw Fiona standing at the water's edge, looking out at the waves. He joined her, scared. Taking her hand in his, he asked her what was wrong. Here, the girl sighed. Opening up her deck box, she pulled out the cards.
"This...this is what the matter is, Miles..." She said, gloomy. "This deck...I made this deck when I dated that...that fucker. I thought I got away from him, but him here just brought back all the pain and heartache."
Miles frowned. He knew the history, his cheek still feeling the phantom slap she gave him so long ago. He looked at the deck, scowling. Fiona sighed.
"I kept this deck...but I don't have a damn clue why..." She said, clenching the cards.
"Then...how about we make a new deck?" Miles suggested, making Fiona look at him. "The two of us...together?"
Fiona blinked, looking at her boyfriend and then at the deck. Smiling, she chucked the cards into the ocean, seeing them scatter onto the incoming tide. She then picked up Miles, nuzzling him.
"Yes! I want to put this nightmare of my past to rest!"
The two headed off to the Card Shack, leaving the ruined deck behind.
EODGX
Jaden Yuki walked into the card shack. He was there to get his latest comic from Dorothy and saw the pair with several card packs. He walked over, making sure to walk loudly so as not to spook the pair. When they saw Jaden, they jumped up.
"Jaden!"
"Hey. What's going on here?"
Fiona sighed. Scourge's coming had opened up some really rotten wounds and her deck whenever she had used it reminded her of those times, not of the times she was now having with Miles. Understanding, Jaden asked if they were trying to make a new deck. The pair nodded and showed him some cards.
"But...they just don't feel right to Fi." Miles said, glumly.
Jaden frowned, crossing his arms. He looked over the cards, his frown deepening.
"Miles. What can you tell me about Fiona?"
Miles blushed red, but began to rattle off. Fiona was strong and took no shit from anyone...save two. The first was him, but that was because he grounded her, kept her from flying off the handle. The second was Scourge for obvious reasons. She was kind enough to stick up for those who couldn't.
"She never backs down from a challenge...she'll see a job through." Miles said, proud that he described his girlfriend to a T.
She was happy also, kissing him on the cheek. Here, The King saw a single card glowing and smiled. Reaching down, he picked it up and flipped it over. Miles and Fiona saw a Dragon standing on two legs, wearing dark blue pants with gold plates at the sides. The dragon charging at something, its maw in a yell. In its right arm, which was covered in the same material as the pants, was a sword. Jaden handed Fiona the Card.
"I think...you just found your deck." Jaden said, smiling softly.
Fiona stared at the card, a lightning bolt surging through her. Her heart beat loudly in her ears, becoming a dragon's roar. Behind her, a ghostly image of the Dragon appeared, bowing to Jaden.
"Rafale, Champion Fur Hire..." Fiona whispered. "Yeah...yeah, I think I did!"
Jaden smiled, leaving the pair as they began to scour the cards, searching for more of the Fur Hire cards. He expected great things now from them.
Short, very short, but I like how it came out. Fi will be showing off the deck soonish. I want your guys opinion on a question I got. Should I do a Promotion Exams chapter or bring the story back on track with the canon? Let me know in a review folks!
