Hey all. This took a bit longer then I had wanted, mainly due to it being Edgar who has taken Bonaparte's place. BUT! I hope you enjoy the deck Edgar has and the duel!
The boardroom of Central was full of the various instructors and headaches. The reason for this meeting was a report on who was the top duelist this year. Naturally, it was Jaden's group who were surpassing all of expectations. Midori chuckled. She saw the pride on Jason's face at what he was hearing about his Reds. He helped out when he could, but between his paperwork, grading papers, and everything else, he wasn't that much of a help to the kids. She really needed to hire an aide for him.
Of course, one little gremlin was in the meeting.
"I still say that the Red dorm is a waste of resources. We need to be making stars and pros, not more slackers." Edgar said, crossing his arms.
"Noted and ignored, pipsqueak." Jason said, his eyes narrowed.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!" Edgar snarled.
Jason smirked, repeating what he had said. That set off Edgar yelling and screaming, though everyone around him was chuckling silently at his temper tantrum. Julian, his uncle, could only hide his face in shame. How did he get such a nimrod of a nephew?! Midori finally got the meeting back under control.
"The Red Dorm stays, Edgar and nothing you do will change that."
Here, Edgar gained a triumphant smirk.
"That's where you're wrong..." Edgar said, chuckling. "I'm invoking article fifty-six of the school charter. I feel that Professor Sweet is unable to be the headmaster of the Red Dorm needs."
Here, they all gained tick marks.
"And...who is do you suggest be my replacement?" Jason said, his tone cold.
"Why...ME!" Edgar boasted.
"Yeah, no. If I don't agree with it, Jaden won't. Don't forget, HE'S the King of the Ring AND destroyed Aster. That was when he was in a good mood. Tear down the Red Dorm will put him in a very BAD mood." Jason said, smirking. "He'll destroy the school by taking out our Alumni once they hit the pro circuit."
Edgar frowned, seeing many agreeing with the logic.
"But...I am itching to put you in your place, Snively." Jason said, using the accursed nickname the GX crew had given the troll. "So...here's what we're gonna do. We'll duel. You win, you get to be Red Headmaster. I win, you drop this whole debacle."
"Fine. Be prepared to be bested!" Edgar said standing up.
EODGX
Word quickly spread of what was going down. The Reds and Yellows gathered at the Red Dorm. The Obelisk Blues didn't bother to come down, mostly due to them having homework to do. Without Crowler to wipe their noses this year, they had to actually WORK and so buckled down.
Jaden sat with Alexis, sitting in the bleachers of the new Red Arena. While not state of the art like the Ra Yellow or Blue dorms, it passed a lot of requirements. Jason was already on one side of the arena, making some last minute adjustments to his deck. Once done, he stood ready.
Edgar then walked in, strutting really. Everyone scowled at him, knowing that he was trying to show that he was powerful. But all it did was make him look like a sick peacock. He stepped onto the arena, showing off a duel blazer similar to Crowler's.
"Ready to lose, brat?" Edgar mocked, deploying his disk.
"Funny, I should be asking you that, baldie." Jason snarked, making many roar with laughter.
A twitch formed on Edgar's face, reminded of his receding hairline.
"DUEL!"
Edgar: 8000/Jason: 8000
"Former pros before wannabes." Jason said, drawing his card. "Here, I play Red-Eyes Fusion, sending my Red Eyes Black Dragon with my Summoned Skull to form...Archfiend Black Skull Dragon!"
(Archfiend Black Skull Dragon (Red Eyes B. Dragon) – LV/*********, Attribute/DARK, ATK/3200, DEF/2800, Type/Fusion/Dragon/Effect.
1 Level 6 "Archfiend" Normal Monster + 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Monster
You can only Special Summon "Archfiend Black Skull Dragon(s)" once per turn. If this card battles, your opponent's cards and effects cannot be activated until the end of the Damage Step. If damage calculation is performed involving this Fusion Summoned card, at the end of the Battle Phase: You can target 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Monster in your Graveyard; inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK in the Graveyard, then shuffle it into the Deck.)
The massive skull dragon rose from the earth, its six serrated wings unfurled. From its maw, fire came out with each exhale, its head lowered and eyes locked on Edgar. Said man was currently gulping in shock. He hadn't expected such a high level monster right off the bat. Still, his plan was flawless! He'd win easily! He-
"Now I play Inferno Fire Blast! Normally, I'd give up my chance to attack, but since this is the first turn, that point is moot. I choose my Red-Eyes Black Dragon!"
"Wh-wait! You don't have a Red Eyes! Foul! I win by foul!" Edgar roared.
"Jeez, you sure you're not related to Jerome?! Red-Eyes Fusion makes any fusion monster I summon through it gain the name Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" Jason said, playing the spell.
Edgar yelled in pain as the dragon launched a massive fireball at him.
Edgar: 4800
"Nice. Professor Sweet already knocked Edgar's life points down by a serious amount." Miles said, smiling.
"Yeah. Man, this is a former pro at work..." Fiona said, amazed.
"I'll throw down a monster facedown and then two cards facedown. You're turn, Baldie."
Edgar drew his card, scowling. He had NOT expected that, but he'd adapt. He always did.
"Alright, I play my SWATBot in defense mode to start!"
"SWATBot?" Alexis asked.
"I know of them...they're Badnik monsters. Pegasus was inspired by Speedy which had Robniks, but adapted them so as to avoid copyright claims. He doesn't trust the company that used to make it...or Kendra for that matter." Jaden said.
(SWAT-Bot – LV/****, Attribute/EARTH, ATK/1900, DEF/1500, Type/Machine/Effect.
During your Standby Phase, Special Summon 1 "SWATBot" from your deck.)
The monster that showed up was a humanoid-shaped robot with a shiny metallic black armor covering it. Standing at roughly six feet tall before it knelt down, everyone saw that the Swat-Bot had a domed-shaped head, a spike protruding from the top, and a single red-tinted optical visor. Melee spikes also protrude from the joints, while large "fins" occupy the forearms.
"I'll set three cards facedown and end my turn." Edgar said, smirking.
Jason drew his card, frowning. A new series of monsters and not a lot of info on them. Not what he was expecting. Still, he'd be remiss if he didn't take advantage.
"Alright, Archfiend...attack that tin can!"
"Ahahahaha! You fell for it! I reveal my trap! Muck Pit!"
(Muck Pit – Type/Trap/Normal.
Activate when your opponent's monster declares an attack. Switch the attacking monster to Defense Mode. It cannot change its position (except by card effect).)
A pit of muck appeared underneath Archfiend, the monster falling into it and forcing itself to curl around Jason. Said man looked shocked before shaking his head.
"Basic move, Jace. No matter. I'll play another card facedown and end." Jason said.
"Now with you ending, I can reveal my other facedown! Shock Therapy!"
(Shock Therapy – Type/Trap/Continuous.
Activate if your opponent has 1 monster in defense mode. During each of your Standby Phases, inflict 1000 points of damage to your opponent's life points.)
A generator appeared next to Edgar, the man cackling his obnoxious cackle. Explaing what it did, Jason scowled, watching the man draw. The generator came to life then, sending out an arc of electricity at the man.
Jason: 7000
"Argh!"
"Shocking isn't it?" Edgar giggled.
"I'm yelling in pain at that pun, Snidely! Get some new material for fuck's sake!"
Edgar snarled, stating that thanks to his SWAT-Bot, he got another two. Now thanks to that, he sacrificed one of them for his SWAT-Commander.
(SWAT-Commander – LV/*****, Attribute/EARTH, ATK/2400, DEF/1900, Type/Machine/Effect.
All Machine-Type monsters gain 400 ATK.)
The SWAT-Commander was similar in make to the SWAT-bot monsters, but had a blue and black color scheme with more pronounced body armor. It's red visor glowed, as did the other two SWAT-Bots.
SWAT-Bot x2 – ATK/1900 → 2300
SWAT-Commander – ATK/2400 → 2800
"Not bad...but none of his monsters can take out Archfiend due to its defense." Maurice pointed out.
"But his other monster is a different story! Commander! Take out that facedown monster!" Edgar said.
The machine's arm became a laser gun that aimed at the facedown. One blast later, a tiny black dragon appeared before blowing up. Here, Jason smirked.
"Thanks! That was Red-Eyes Baby Dragon."
(Red-Eyes Baby Dragon – LV/***, Attribute/DARK, ATK/1200, DEF/700, Type/Dragon/Effect.
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster from your Deck, and if you do, equip this card from the GY to it. It gains 300 ATK. If this card is sent to the GY while equipped to a monster: You can add 1 Level 1 Dragon monster from your Deck or GY to your hand.)
The Slifer Headmaster explained to everyone his baby's effect. When it was destroyed as a result of battle, he was allowed to summon one level seven or lower Red-Eyes monster from his deck. Then his baby equipped itself to the summoned monster. Here, Edgar smirked.
"Not going to happen! Here's my final facedown! Level Penalty!"
(Level Penalty – Type/Trap/Continuous
Inflict 100 points of damage times a summoned monster's level.)
"Oh that's not good. Now if Professor Jason plays any monsters, he loses life points." Hassleberry said.
"But Edgar is in the same boat." Bastion pointed out.
"For now...for now." Edgar muttered.
"Doesn't stop me from playing Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning in attack mode!" Jason called out.
(Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning – LV/******, Attribute/DARK, ATK/2500 → 2800 (Red-Eyes Baby), DEF/1200, Type/Fiend/Gemini/Effect.
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect.
●Once per turn: You can destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls with DEF lower than this card's ATK.)
Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lighting looked exactly like Summoned Skull in height and appearance. But there were differences. For one, Red-Eyes Archfiend skeleton was black with the lungs being red. The eyes of the monster red as well, sticking to the name. The tiny black dragon appeared and nestled on the shoulder of the monster. Jason's entire frame became shrouded in darkness from the trap effect.
Jason: 6400
"I have to thank you, Edgar. I'll show you why on my next turn."
"Hardly! I play the spell card, Ray Shield!"
(Ray Shield- Type/Spell/Continuous.
Negate any Effect damage you take.)
"Sam hell, that prevents him from taking effect damage, meaning he's safe from his own trap!" Hassleberry moaned.
"I'll set one card facedown and end." Edgar said, smiling smugly.
Jason drew his card, but didn't play anything from his hand. Still, everyone was shocked at his life points falling again.
Jason: 5800
"What the? Why did you lose life points?! You didn't summon a monster!" Edgar said, shocked and confused.
"I did...but I'll explain later. For now, I reveal one of my facedowns, Red-Eyes Fang with Chain!"
(Red-Eyes Fang with Chain – Type/Trap/Normal.
Target 1 "Red-Eyes" monster you control; equip this card to it. It can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase. You can send this Equip Card to the GY, then target 1 Effect Monster on the field; equip that target to the monster this card was equipped to, and if you do, while a monster is equipped to it by this effect, its ATK/DEF become equal to the original ATK/DEF of that equipped monster.)
The artwork of the trap showed a Red-Eyes Black Dragon kunai attached with a chain. Jason smirked, choosing his Archfiend Lightning Skull.
"Now my skull can make two attacks. So target his SWAT-Bots!"
With a roar and crash of thunder, the monster zapped the two monsters. Edgar covered his face, the dust and smoke billowing away.
"Nice try, but you triggered my facedown Recycled Production!"
(Recycled Production – Type/Trap/Continuous.
When Machine-Type monster(s) are sent to the GY, Special Summon them at the end of your opponent's turn. Reduce their ATK by 1000.)
The two SWAT-Bots returned, kneeling down. Jason just frowned, ending his turn.
SWAT-Bot x2 – ATK/1900 → 900 → 1300
"I draw! Now I play the Field Spell card, Robotropolis!"
Jason: 4800 (Shock Therapy)
(Robotropolis – Type/Spell/Field.
Increase the ATK of all Machine-Type monsters in play by 500 ATK. Reduce the level of all Machine-Type monsters in the hand and on the field by 1. When a Machine-Type is destroyed as a result of battle, add 1 level 5 or higher Machine-Type from your deck to your hand.)
All around the two, massive metal factories sprang up, a large oval building in the center of it all.
SWAT-Bot – ATK/1300 → 1800
SWAT-Commander – ATK/2800 → 3300
"I'm not done yet! I sacrifice one of my SWAT-bots to play Jinzo!"
Jinzo – ATK/2400 → 2900 → 3300
The cyborg appeared, its red eyes flashing. The shiny chain became dull, indicating its power couldn't be used. Jason did not look worried in the slightest. Edgar snarled, ordering his new monster to attack and take out Skull Archfiend. Here, Jason smirked.
"You fell for it, Snively."
"What? A trap? Please! No traps can be used with Jinzo in play!"
"Not a trap...but a spell! Go, Command Silencer!"
(Command Silencer – Type/Spell/Quick-play.
Negate 1 attack and draw 1 card.)
A totem pole appeared, sonic vibrations echoing out from it creating an invisible wall. Jinzo's attack crashed against the wall, Edgar frowning. Jason drew a card, smirking.
"SWAT-Commander! Take out his Skull!"
"Second verse, same as the first. Hell of a lot louder and a lot fucking worse! Command Silencer!"
Once more, the blaster fire from the Commander crashed against the wall, Jason drawing a second card. Edgar growled, selecting a card in his hand. He revealed it to be Amplifier and equipped it to his Jinzo.
"Great, now his traps are in play again..." Chazz griped, watching as Snively ended his turn.
Drawing, Jason looked at his hand and smirked.
"Time to end this farce of a duel. Remember how I lost life points when I didn't summon anything?" Jason called out, making many nod. "Well, let me tell you something...I preformed a Gemini summon."
That had everyone blink confused. Gemini Summon? Jason nodded.
Gemini monsters was unique. They were colored like Effect monsters, BUT when on the field or in the graveyard, they were treated as NORMAL monsters. To gain their effects, one had to first summon them to the field normally. Then if it was still around, summon it AGAIN while it was face-up on the field.
"I call it Gemini Summoning for the sake of mine and everyone's sanity. My Red-Eyes Archfiend Skull of Lightning is such a monster."
"Who cares? You're not going to break through my defenses! All of my monsters are too powerful!" Edgar said with glee.
"See, that's where you're wrong, Snively. You heard of the Summoned Skull and Maiku combo right?"
"Yes, that destroys all monsters whose defense power is lower then Skulls attack power." Bastion pointed out.
Jason nodded. His Red-Eyes Archfiend was such a combo...in monster form. And since he had Gemini summoned it last turn, he was free to use his monster's effect.
"My Lightning Archfiend destroys monsters whose defenses are lower then his offensive power!" Jason proclaimed making everyone gasp.
Several black clouds formed and the Lightning Archfiend's eyes glowed an even brighter shade of red. All around its body, blue sparks could be seen dancing. Raising its arms, the sparks grew in intensity and brightness. Edgar watched on shocked and scared. With a demonic roar, Lightning Archfiend cut loose. Several bolts of energy crashed down on the metal monsters, blasting them apart. Edgar coughed from the explosion that came up from it, staring in shock.
"Now...Red-Eyes Archfiend! Attack Edgar directly!"
The skull fiend roared, sending down another blast of lightning on the tiny troll. Edgar screamed in pain and anguish at the simulated blast.
Edgar: 2000
"Damn, so close." Jasmine huffed.
"Not over yet..." Syrus said, seeing the smirk on his professor's face.
"You think I can't attack with my other Dragon...right?"
Edgar nodded, making Jason smirk.
"Well...too bad for you, I can. De-Fusion!"
The spell card turned the Archfiend Black Skull back into Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Summoned Skull. Seeing that, everyone cheered! Jason had won!
"Red eyes...END THIS! INFERNO FIRE BLAST!"
The dragon roared, launching its signature attack at Edgar. Said man screamed shrilly, the scream cutting off when the attack struck.
Edgar: 0
"And that is that." Jason said, smirking.
All of the Reds hurried to Jason and cheered, Edgar crawling away on his hands and knees, vowing revenge for this humiliation.
EODGX
Far from the Red Dorms, many of the blues were taking a break from their studies. The group looked up to see Jerome, Ian, and Amelia standing before them.
"What the? What brings the crazies to our dorm?"
"Hey, get out of here! This is no place for you rejects!"
The three didn't answer. They just deployed their duel disks. Seeing it, the group all laughed, many of them doing the same.
"Eh, win's a win. So let's go boys!" One of the Blues cried out.
The resulting explosions and cries of shock and defeat echoed.
The Light had finally struck.
Uh oh! Trouble! Looks like Jerome, Ian, and Amelia have brainwashed the Blue Boys' Dorm! The first steps of the Light have been taken. Will it conquer the world next? Find out next time on Drag-Oops! Wrong script!
But yeah, this is getting serious. Now, don't worry, I'm not gonna have Chazz or Alexis duel either of the three, so don't worry your pretty little heads.
