Chapter 06 : Rao's Ascension

At the center of the Universe there was a hidden city, bigger than some planets on the planet, this was the city where the gods gather and excuse important matters in a council of Pantheons.
The biggest name was undoubtedly the Asgardians and Olympians, the Asgardians had the greatest army and warrior Gods, and Olympus for having the greatest destructive power and noble blood, with the oldest God among them being Zeus, who was the President elected by the gods.
And now it was time for a new meeting, the reason was the new people that emerged in the galaxy where most of the empires resided.
"Heads up !!!" A man, in golden armor and white toga, with a golden crystal Thunderbolt in his hands, with a white beard slammed his fist into the hand rest, the impact created a shock wave that covered the entire city.
"I know everyone is upset, but whispering like a bunch of kids won't solve anything!!, we are Gods! , if we need to do something we do it!" That was Zeus, the King of Heaven, God of the Gods, Father of Olympus and Chairman of the Council of the Gods.
"Lord Zeus, these Kryptonians are completely off the record!!, no God to represent them!, this is simply out of order, may bring chaos to the delicate balance between Pantheons!" Said the former and abandoned God of the Kree, the Kree were now a much more atheistic population and their gods had lost a lot of strength.
"Bullshit!!, you're only saying that because of the Kree's defeat in the last war!!" Said the many-faced God of the Skrull.
"Okay, okay, order!!, I know a people your Gods can be a little out of the ordinary! , but don't you see how this can be easily resolved?" Zeus declared to everyone.
"Forgive me Father, but how can this be resolved?" Athena, Zeus' favorite daughter asked.
"Very simple daughter!!, the good old fashioned way of the Gods of Olympus!!" Zeus declared with a lascivious grin, causing his daughter to cover her face in embarrassment as much of the council laughed.

A fifity years have passed since the victory over the Kree empire, first the occupation of new Kryptonian space defense agents, serving as a border guard. The Kryptonian population grew greatly, completely occupying the mother planet Krypton and some colonies in space.
I was old, I could say that, a thousand years of life can do that to you, luckily it looks like I'll live for a few more centuries, at least that's what the exams say, it looks like it's the limit of Kryptonian longevity under a yellow Sun . My two "oldest" children Kal and Lara had many children, creating the El house, inspired by my name, I allowed this because it seemed more like a tribute, not to mention they were my heirs.
I was investigating some space disturbances near one of the farm worlds, operated completely by machines, no complex artificial intelligence, just an irrigation system and simple maintenance, did not want to depend on computer systems, not when we thought faster than they.
Observing there didn't seem to be anything wrong, but on closer inspection the air seemed to vibrate around a specific area, I was about to use a reading device when out of nowhere the sky went dark, lightning danced across the sky, and then a big circle of lightning formed in front of me.
A bright light covered everything, along with a strange white mist like clouds, after my eyes got used to the light, a huge figure stood before me, a golden armor, a white roga, and a Thunderbolt in his hands.
"Jor-El!!, Emperor of Krypton!, lord of all Kryptonians!, feel honored, for before you stands the father of Olympus!!, I am Zeus!!!" The massive figure ended up being the King of the Greek Gods, and being the Marvel universe he was way more than that.
"Well...triumphal entry?" I say uncertainly, he just looks at me for a moment.
"Hahahahah!!!" Until he let out a mighty laugh, making the ground shake, this was without a doubt one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
"Yes, yes, you are definitely different from most mortals, that's good for you." He said wiping a tear from his eye.
"If I may ask Lord Zeus, could you tell me the reason for your coming to this world?" I needed to know why someone so capricious was here.
"Well, let's say it's related to you and your people." He said, now getting more serious, this was worrying.
"Like this?" I ask.
"Well, you see, you and your people even after almost a thousand years of existence still don't have a God who can represent you in the city of omnipotence, a place where the Gods solve important issues, this has created a vacuum that if not filled soon can result in your people suffering from petitions to worship Gods who want more influence." The explanation made sense, this was worrying.
"And…how do you suggest we work this out?" If he was here it was probably to prevent this, or he would have simply attacked me and not explained it.
"Dark carefully Jor-El of Krypton!!, I'm offering you something that hasn't been done in eons!, something that many don't even realize, tell me Jor-El, are you willing to become a God?!" In his hand, a golden light appeared and then a golden apple was revealed.
"This comes straight from Asgard, from the gardens of Idum, with some alterations with ambrosia from my people, this fruit will make anyone who resists an immortal god, so you could represent your people." I didn't expect this, I wasn't exactly comfortable dying again without seeing the heroes of future ages, here was a rare chance.
"I accept Lord Zeus." I took the apple, and bit into it, immediately a maddening pain covered my body, it felt like my blood had turned to boiling water, my bones felt like they were being torn apart, my brain felt like it would short circuit, but all this was in less than micro seconds, when I came to consciousness Zeus was still before me.
"Oh, those are good domains you have, but don't get cocky, there are Gods that can still take you, but overall you get on the same level as my brother Poseidon, and other high level Gods." He smiled, then disappeared, leaving the location of the City of Omnipotence.
"What a crazy day." I became a God, but I still had my look a little aged, but I feel all my vigor back, this is just amazing!!

A year has passed since the events with Zeus, the Kryptonian people gradually accepted my new status, I did not demand worship or prayer, only recognition, my name was abandoned , changed to my divine name Rao, Kal took the surname of El, he deserved it and his lineage would have prestige for it.
Now this would be my first assembly as a member of the divine council, representing the Kryptonian people, all the most varied types of Gods you could find, even it seems that some of them live here, Gods without worshipers I heard.
The great divine hall was crowded, and I could see a woman, she had black skin and ancient Egyptian robes, with a lot of gold and silver, but the most interesting were the panther ears.
"May I sit here?" I asked in a polite tone.
"Oh, the new high-level God, Rao right? I've heard a lot about you." She replied with a smile.
"I hope only good things, could I know your name beautiful Goddess?" I asked even though I already knew who it was.
"Not really, I'm Bastet, the Panther Goddess." I think she was already the main Goddess of Wakanda.
"Well, I hope we can get along, well excuse me, this is my first meeting after all." I said, soon Zeus made another one of her entries.
"Don't worry, most of the time it's just the same discussion, Zeus brags a little, and then we discuss the status of each pantheon." This is useful, so I won't be too unprepared.
"Now!, many of you may know, we recently welcomed a new member, it's been over a million years since the last God took his place on this council, please welcome God Rao!" This damn old man, even though I look old, he's millions of years old.
Bastet gave me an apologetic look, I sighed and headed towards the floor in front of Zeus' throne, I could see all the Gods from here, some even looked less glamorous than others. Aztec, Inca, Mayan, Chinese, Japanese, Babylonian, Central European Gods, and a handful of alien Gods, it amazes me that Earth has so many.
"Ladies and gentlemen Gods , and Genderless Gods, for we also have diversity!, this God has already achieved something that very few have ever done, having defeated and imprisoned a Sun-Eater, something worthy of a great feat!" Soon everyone shouted in decorum.
"Now, I couldn't help but notice that he is alone, as you know Rao is a very recent God, he doesn't have a pantheon of his own, so I'll give him a gift!, the possibility to choose gods without worshipers for his own pantheon!, a way to solve our housing problems." I see, that's what he wanted me for, the excited cries of Gods filled the room once more.
Well I suppose it wouldn't hurt to bring in different species of Gods, between us I have no problem with that, it actually gives me some ideas for working on new species to occupy Kryptonian space.
"I humbly appreciate the proposal Lord Zeus, but do I believe I have the right to ask that one or two more of my own people may ascend as I do?" I didn't want to be the only divine Kryptonian in a pantheon of immigrants.
"Hmm, well, I suppose it's not absurd, I'll talk to Odin about it, wait for my answer, for now think about who you will choose!" That's enough for now, now it was time to think about the best Gods for my pantheon.
Just to let you know that the gods are going to be OC's, each one will represent an alien from Ben 10.It won't be a large pantheon, with a maximum of ten members, to reference the Omnitrix. Maybe I should add Viltrumites and Daxamites.
