Here it is. A duel many of you have been wanting ever since this story started. Jaden does something that I always, always wished the canon had done with that Key. We also get a debut of a new Line of HERO Fusions so Enjoy!
The next morning for CDA was one of pure chaos. Sartorius had woken up feeling exhausted for some reason. He ignored it and headed to the safe containing the keys. The Satellite was nearly in position to fire at the warring nations. Entering the code, the possessed being took out the case containing the controls to the orbital weapon.
The lid opened and he grabbed the keys. Frowning, he looked down and saw only-
"One key?! Where is the other one?!" Sartorius hissed.
He searched the case and then his room. He threw around all his objects, eyes wide in panic. He let out a scream of frustration, throwing a chair. His hair was frazzled and split in some places.
He heard a chuckle and turned to the mirror. Inside it was the true Sartorius, grinning up a storm.
"What are you-? NO!"
The false Sartorius finally got the memories of last night and was furious. He punched the mirror, shattering it.
"Do you have any idea what you have done?!" The fake roared.
"Oh I do. And it was well worth the price to see your face. I cannot wait to see you fall to Jaden like you did in the distant past."
The fake snarled, listening to the voice of the real deal. He wiped his hand free of the blood, stepping out to see his Society all surrounding his door.
"Master, we heard you yelling...is-?" Aster started.
"Just a bad dream, I'm afraid. Come...we must see the brackets for the second round of the tournament." Sartorius said coolly, everyone walking behind him.

The SoL looked at the brackets with some trepidation. There were two sections each containing four groups of duelists. Each one had a name in one of the brackets. Sartorius eyed the bracket, seeing he was in the third group and facing against Grimsley.
Professor Sweet would duel the D, that would be an interesting duel. The pair of them were in the second group.
The top duel of the third group was to be Jasmine Fairbrooks against Daniel.
But it was the first duel of the first group that had Satrotius' heart sink. Alexis vs Jaden. It was too soon for that! He kept his cool...but inwardly was wondering why the bugs in the Chancellor's office didn't alert him to this!? Aster looked enraged, seeing that he was dueling Bob, not seeing the first duel.
"Of all the-I want a challenge not a sideshow." Aster snarled.
Sartorius just rolled his eyes. He wondered briefly where the EoD was at, but soon put it out of his mind. They would show up soon enough. For now, he needed to make Alexis nothing more but a vicious bitch to Jaden.
EODGX
Currently, Jaden was with Baxter, a tall reedy boy with black hair, blue eyes, glasses, and wearing a Yellow uniform. Both of them were in the metal workshop class, a metal grinder before them both. Baxter put on his safety glasses, Jaden doing the same. Once the glasses were secured, Jaden took out the SORA key and placed the pointed end near the fast moving wheel.
Sparks flew and the sound of metal being ground down screeched in the classroom, Baxter glaring. He had lost his girl to the Light and hearing that this key's destruction could save her, well, he was all for it. The key ground down to a nub, Jaden pocketed the key, sighing.
"Baxter, thank you so much."
"No problem, Jay. You just make sure this Demon posin' as an Angel gets his ass handed to him."
Jaden nodded, smirking. He had planned on that. An alert to his PDA made the King look at it. Seeing it was related to the tournament, he opened it up. He skimmed over the message then looked at the bracket.
Baxter was putting away the glasses when he saw Jaden stiffen out of the corner of his eye. Turning around, he asked what was wrong. Wordlessly, Jaden looked at Baxter, frowning.
"I'm dueling Alexis..."
Baxter thought Jaden would sound relieved. But the King sounded anything but. He sounded...a mixture of confused, despair, and finally, dread.
"That's...a good thing isn't it?"
Jaden shook his head. It was, don't get him wrong. But now, The Light was gonna play more head games with him. He walked off, needing to prepare for his duel in two hours time.

Alexis walked into her master's room, bowing before him. Ever since she had seen the Light, it had freed her from the doubts and troubles. They had cropped up thanks to Mindy and Jasmine, but her master put paid to those thoughts once more. Sartorius told her to rise up which she did.
"Master, what is thy bidding?"
"Let's forget the theatrics...you're not in the right outfit anyways for that." Sartorius said, a rueful smile on his face. "You have seen the brackets?"
Alexis shook her head. At that, Sartorius frowned.
"You will be dueling Jaden first in the forest near the Abandoned Dorm ruins."
Alexis' head snapped up. She was to duel Jaden in the first duel? Sartorius revealed a case. Inside were several cards. She looked over the offered cards. Alexis made eye contact with his, opening her mouth to tell him thank you, but she would rely on her own cards.
He struck. A surge of power and Alexis's eyes glazed over, becoming cruel and vicious. Sartorius smirked, though that smirk quickly fled as he groaned quietly.
"Use these cards to remake your deck to destroy Jaden and make him see the light."
Alexis nodded silently, picking up several cards, a cruel smile on her face.

Jaden stood in the area where he and Alexis were set to duel. Nearby, a referee stood, looking at their watch. Five minutes before they could declare Jaden the winner, Alexis walked up, duel disk on her arm.
"You're late." The ref said coldly.
"Shut up. Let's get this done and over with. I can't think of a better break-up then in a duel."
Jaden grit his teeth, knowing that was not Alexis talking but Sartorius trying to play with his head. Both deployed their disks, the Ref speaking up for the first time.
"There's been a slight change to the rules...what it is, you'll need to figure out." The Ref said, smirking.
Both looked at the ref, but nodded. The Ref pulled out a coin, tossing it. In the air, Alexis called out Heads, Jaden Tails. The coin was caught and slapped onto the back of their hand.
It was tails.
"Jaden starts this duel off."
Both disks deployed and a cry of 'duel!' echoed.

In the main arena, everyone gathered, eyes glued on the screens. Jason frowned, looking at Alexis' eyes.
"You think Jaden will keep his cool?"
"Hard to say, Professor." Jasmine answered, scowling. "Hard to say."
EODGX
Jaden: 8000/Alexis: 8000
"Alright, let's do this." Jaden said, drawing a card.
Looking over his hand, he saw he didn't have that good of a hand. Elemental Hero Necroshade, Neo-Space Cadet, three spells, and Elemental Hero Sparkman. He grabbed the spell card first.
"I play Hand Destruction. I throw out these two cards and gain two more." Jaden said, discarding Cadet and Necroshade.
Upon drawing his two cards, he saw one of them was Bubbleman. One summoning later had him draw another two...and reveal the hidden rules.
Bubbleman – ATK/800 → 1040, DEF/1200 → 1560
"What the-?!" Both Alexis and Jaden called out.
"Seems you discovered the secret." The Ref said, laughing. "Depending on the type of monster and the field, your monster gains a thirty percent power boost. Bubbleman is a warrior and around Jaden is an open field."
"So its like Duelist Kingdom." Jaden said, smirking up a storm. "That makes this interesting!"
Jaden revealed Dark Fusion, fusing Bubble with Spark and Avian. Evil HERO Typhoon landed, kneeling down. Alexis scowled. That monster was more trouble then it was worth. Jaden placed a card facedown, ending his turn.
Alexis drew, looking at the card. She instantly played it on her MZ.
"Meet my Snow Fairy. I play her in attack mode!"

Snow Fairy was a woman covered in icicle like armor. Jaden scowled, seeing the monster. Thanks to that card, he couldn't use his spells. Alexis placed a card facedown, Jaden drawing. Seeing Clayman, he placed it in facedown defense mode, ending his turn.

"Why is Jaden playing defensively?" Someone asked.
"Its Alexis' deck. Its totes new! He probably doesn't want to be taken by surprise." Another answered.
All of the group watched, frowning hard. Atticus watched his little sister, the demented look on her face breaking his heart.
"Jay...save her..." He whispered.

Alexis drew her card, revealing it once she looked at it.
"I play White Night Fort!"

Jaden didn't react to the new spell. He just simply waited for his turn. Alexis snarled, placing a monster on the field.
"I'll summon out my Illusion Ice Sculpture in attack mode."

When this card is Summoned, select 1 face-up monster you control. This card's ATK and DEF become equal to that monster's original ATK and DEF. A cluster of ice in the form of a golem rose up. It suddenly melted, the waters becoming an exact replica of the Fairy next. Alexis smirked, stating that as long as Sculpture was in play, only it could be the target of attacks. She launched an attack on the facedown, the monster flipping up to reveal-
"Clayman." Jaden stated coldly.
Clayman – ATK/800 → 1040, DEF/2000 → 2600
Alexis winced as her monster was bounced back, several shards of ice hitting her.
Alexis: 6500
"D-damn it...I end with this card facedown."
Jaden drew his card, looking over his hand. He nodded, playing Card Trooper in attack mode. A tiny robot appeared next to Clayman, beeping and whirring.

"I use my Trooper's effect. I send three cards from my deck to the grave, increasing his attack power by five hundred times the number of sent cards."

Jaden slotted the top three, noticing that all three were Chrysalis monsters. Chicky, Larva, and Pantail. He ignored it, switching Typhoon to attack mode. He declared an attack with Trooper first, making Alexis mentally scowl. Her quick-play would only work if a monster two thousand or more attacked first. Her sculpture was wiped out by Trooper.

"Now, I'll have Typhoon attack your Fairy."
"Not so fast. I reveal my facedown, Cold Snap!"

A biting chill shot out over the field, flash freezing Trooper, Clayman, and Typhoon. All three shattered, Jaden covering his face. Seeing Alexis smirk, he drew a card, stating it was Trooper's effect. The card he drew felt warm, so the King looked at it.
Seeing who it was, he checked his hand. Nodding, he chose three cards.
"I play three traps."
At hearing that, Alexis's eyes went wide. Fort may prevent Jaden from activating traps, but not setting them! A pillar of fire erupted, making Alexis cover her face. She stared as Uria, Lord of Searing Flames rose up. Everyone in the EoD cheered at the sight of the Sacred Beast, the SoL screaming in fear.
Uria – ATK & DEF/0 → 3000
"Crikey! That's one monster of a monster!" Jim stated, staring in shock.
"So that is the power of the Sacred Beasts..." Adrian mused, a look of greed in his eyes.
Jaden placed another card facedown, ending his turn. Alexis drew, scowling. Uria was not what she expected to face down. She looked over her hand, revealing a spell card.
"Icicle Sacrifice. This spell allows me to gain a Token, so long as I give up a monster zone."
(Icicle Sacrifice – Type/Spell/Normal.
Select 1 of your unused Monster Card Zones, and Special Summon 1 "Icicle Token" (Aqua-Type/WATER/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0). That selected Monster Card Zone cannot be used during this Duel. The "Icicle Token" can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a monster.)
One of her zones dimmed, a large spear appearing. Just as fast as it appeared, it vanished. In its place a ice woman appeared wearing a white cloak. Alexis smirked.
"This is my White Night Queen!"

"I'll use her effect, destroying your facedown."
A sheet of ice appeared on the facedown card. It blew up, but a blood soaked medal appeared. Alexis hissed in anger.
"Evil Medallion!"
Jaden nodded, adding the card back to his deck and shuffling. He drew three cards, seeing one was another copy of Avian. Alexis ended her turn with a facedown, scowling. Jaden drew, looking at the card. He nodded, adding it to his hand. He grabbed the second copy and played it.
Avian – ATK/1000 → 1300, DEF/1000 → 1300
"Avian, attack that Fairy!"
Avian let out a cascade of quills, the monster screeching as it was destroyed. Alexis covered her face, scowling.

"Uria, you're next!"
The Sacred Beast roared, sending a cascade of fire down at White Night Queen. The monster was consumed in the fire, Alexis hissing as her points dropped more.
Alexis: 4600
"I play Pot of Greed, drawing two cards. Next I follow that up with spell Difficult Choice. This is a more powerful version of Painful Choice. Instead of you picking, I do."

Jaden chose five cards, adding one to his hand. The cards he discarded were three traps and two chrysalis monsters, Mole and Dolphin. With the three traps, Uria gained more power.

"Now, I'll use his effect to destroy your facedown."
No one saw the smug smirk on Alexis' face as Uria's sonic scream came down on the card. The card blew...but then Uria was covered in ice and dragged into a portal!
"WHAT?!" Everyone and Jaden cried out.
"That was my Black Ice Void trap."

Jaden frowned, seeing the words 'Turn End' on his disk. He looked at Alexis who had drawn her card. She looked at it and smirked.
"I play Cold Fusion!"

"I send my three white night dragons from my deck to the grave...behold, White Night Titan!"

White Night Titan was a massive giant of a man, covered in white armor, a cloak behind him. His face was covered by a helmet. At his side was a large broadsword. The monster drew it, a gust of ice cold wind gusting around them. Alexis smirked, playing another spell card.
"White Veil!"
The monster was covered in the white aura, Jaden grimacing. Alexis ordered the attack, the monster roaring as it swung. Jaden howled in pain, the biting cold touching his skin.
Jaden: 3500
"HAHAHA! Can't you see! This is the power that Sartorius has given me. The Light has given me this power, Jaden! I am no longer weak!"
"I cough I never thought you weak, Alexis." Jaden said, struggling to get up.
Alexis paused. What? He never thought her weak? Jaden righted himself, staring at his girlfriend, barely holding back the destructive power of his past. He never saw Alexis as weak. He saw her as a strong woman. Capable of handling herself many times over.
"Titan. Your brother's disappearance. Everything life threw at you, you handled it with grace. Yes...you stumbled...yes, you had moments. But not once, have you ever let those moments rule you." Jaden said, sighing. "If anything...I am the weak one...because I have let myself become what I was in the past."
"And...what is that?" Alexis asked, cautious.
Jaden closed his eyes. When he opened them back up, his whites were black.
"A monster."
Jaden watched as Alexis took a step back, fear flitting across her face. Jaden calmly waited for her to end her turn. Alexis shook her head, playing another spell card.
"Monster Reborn to bring back my Snow Fairy."
The monster reappeared, Jaden not giving a reaction. He simply waited. Alexis smirked, placing a facedown and ending her turn.
As Jaden drew, she spoke, a haughty tone in her voice.
"You know you'll soon lose. So why not hand over the SORA key and save yourself the trouble?"
Jaden looked at her, a slow grin coming across his face.
"Even if you win...you and your master have lost."
Confusion reigned in the SoL. What had their master's enemy mean? Seeing Alexis' confusion, Jaden reached into his cloak. What he pulled out made her eyes widen and Sartorius to scream in fury.
"As I said...if you win, you still have lost." Jaden stated coldly, showing the destroyed key. "But...you aren't going to win."
"What!? Of course I will! You have no means to use your spells and traps!"
Jaden chuckled. He decided it was time to show them the TRUE power of the Neo-Spacians and Elemental HERO Neos.
"I first use the effect of my Necroshade, summoning Neos from my hand!"
The space warrior appeared, roaring.
Neos – ATK/2500 → 3250, DEF/2000 → 2600
"Not done yet. I use the effect of my Neo Spacian Cadet!"

You can Banish this card and up to 5 "Chrysalis" monsters from your GY. Special Summon from your deck the respective cards listed on the "Chrysalis" monsters. If you banish this card while "Elemental HERO Neos" is in play, you gain 1 extra monster zone until the End Phase of the Turn.)
Cadet looked like a boy dressed up sloppily like Neos. He gave a salute, five chrysalis monsters joining him and doing the same. The five glowed brightly, becoming-
"Meet Neo Spacians Air Hummingbird!"

Once per turn: You can gain 500 Life Points for each card in your opponent's hand.)
A large winged monster that stood like a man appeared, striking a heroic pose. Alexis wanted to comment on the pink feathers, but saw the glare from the monster at her. She watched as Jaden play another monster.
"Aqua Dolphin."
Aquos appeared, cracking his knuckles. He looked at Jaden, nodding grimly. Jaden returned the nod, playing another monster.
"Grand Mole!"
The tiny mole appeared next to Aquos, looking around.
"Dark Panther."
The large caped monster appeared on the other side of Neos, growling. Jaden petted the panther's head, earning a slight purr from it. One final card made itself known.
"Finally, Flare Scarab!"
(Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab – LV/***, Attribute/FIRE, ATK/500 → 1300, DEF/500, Type/Insect/Effect.
Gain 400 ATK for each Spell and Trap card your opponent controls.)
Flare was a humanoid monster with an insect's carapace and two loud buzzing wings. He landed on the other side of Dark Panther, crossing his arms.
Alexis blinked. None of those monsters were powerful enough to take on her Titan. Then she counted and pointed out there was SIX monsters in play. Jaden smirked, nodding.
"That's right. Neo-Cadet had another effect. If Neos is in play when I banish it, I gain an Extra Monster Zone until the end of the turn. In regards to my monster's power, you are correct. Right now, they aren't...so its time to reveal an old favorite fusion. Sorry Chazz, but you're no longer the only one to do contact fusion."
In the stands, Chazz grumbled about smart alack friends making everyone around him laugh.
"I first use Humming's effect and gain five hundred Life points."
Three flowers bloomed on Alexis cards, making her hiss.
Jaden: 5000
"Next, I use Dolphin's effect and discard this card."
A sonic pulse came out, showing Alexis her hand. Jaden chose her White Night Princess, making the girl scream in anger.
Alexis: 4100
"Finally, I contact fuse Neos with Panther, Dolphin, Mole, Scarab, and Hummingbird!"
The six monsters soared into the air, each one glowing brightly. Alexis covered her face as a rainbow colored comet appeared. She heard Jaden's voice.
"With the powers of Neo Space, the Gentle Darkness and Cosmic energy divine, a new hero is born! I contact fuse...Cosmic HERO Galaxy Neos!"

Cosmic HERO Galaxy Neos looked exactly like Neos in terms of body. However, his body itself looked like a piece of the universe itself. Stars, comets, planets and other celestial bodies moved when he moved. The jewel in the center of his chest contained a galaxy, his eyes were like nebula. His hands were red, indicating Red Giants. He landed next to Jaden arms crossed.
"Galaxy gains five hundred attack points for each monster he shares an attribute with. Since both your Titan and Fairy are light, he gains a thousand."
Galaxy Neos – ATK/3900 → 4900
"Big deal. He can take out my Fairy, but not Titan." Alexis boasted.
Jaden shook his head. He'd let the effects speak for him. He used the first effect of Galaxy Neos. Snow Fairy exploded in cosmic fire, Alexis screaming in shock.
Alexis: 3000
"I use my facedown, Cryo Healing!"

Alexis chose Titan, her life points jumping up.

"Next, I use his second effect reducing your Titan's attack to zero."
Titan – ATK/4000 → 0
Galaxy Neos attacked, his fist covered in cosmic energy and fire. It slashed downward, cutting through the larger monster with ease. Alexis covered her face at the explosion that came.
Alexis: 3100
Jaden watched as three pillars of Ice rose up. The pillars shattered, revealing three dragons made entirely of ice.
"By destroying Titan, I bring forth the three monsters used to make him. Meet my three White Knight Dragons!"

"Guess now would be a bad time to mention that Galaxy Neos can attack a second time huh?" Jaden stated cheekily.
Alexis' eyes went wide as Galaxy charged again, taking out the middle Dragon. She covered her face, scowling.
Alexis: 200
"With the ending of my turn, I am forced to send Galaxy Neos back to my Extra Deck. HOWEVER! That triggers his final effect. When he returns to the Extra Deck, I can summon one HERO Fusion monster while ignoring whatever summoning conditions they may have."
Galaxy Neos flew back to the Extra Deck, but they heard the clopping of hooves. Jaden smirked.
"And I looked, and beheld a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was never uttered, and Hades followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with disease, and with the beasts of the earth. Arise...Vile HERO DEATH!"
(Vile HERO Death – LV/************, Attribute/DARK, ATK/0, DEF/0, Type/Fiend/Fusion/Effect.
Must be Special Summoned with "Mask Corruption II". This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle. This card cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects. You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this card. When this card attacks or is attacked, destroy the targeted monster. When this card destroys a monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the destroyed monsters original ATK. When this card is removed from play, Special Summon 1 monster, ignoring any summoning conditions.)
Vile HERO Death was monster draped in a black cloak, a pair of red eyes glowing from the hood. Several chains slithered out of its back as four wings unfurled themselves. Death looked intimidating to say the least. Jaden calmly ended his turn.
Alexis drew her card, looking at the new monster. Looking at her hand, she smirked. She chose a card and revealed it.
"I play Frostfire!"
(Frostfire – Type/Spell/Normal.
If you control "White Knight Dragon": Destroy all monsters your opponent controls.)
From the three icy blue fire rushed from their maws. Death simply floated there, waiting and watching. The fires washed over him, turning everything to ice and trapping him inside a massive crystal. Alexis smirked, seeing the new monster encased in ice.
"White Night Dragons! Attack and en-!"
The sound of cracking ice stopped her cold. She watched with horror as the massive ice crystal shattered, revealing that Death was okay. Its wings fluttered a bit shaking off the last bits of snow and ice on it. It looked at Alexis with those red eyes.
"One cannot merely freeze Death...for Death is everlasting."
Alexis scowled, ending her turn, daring to not attack. This would cost her. Jaden drew, but ordered an attack. Alexis laughed, as did the SoL watching. But Sartorius wasn't laughing. He knew the power Death had...and what it meant.
Alexis had lost.
Death's chains wrapped around one of the Dragons, the dragon spewing ice cold fire at them. The chains did not break, only tightened. The HERO drew the Dragon in, the cloak becoming a massive, yawning maw of darkness. Alexis watched in horror as her dragon was devoured. It cried out and screamed, but nothing was done to stop it.
Death finished his meal before looking at Alexis.
From the hood came a rush of blue fire, her eyes widening. The fire crashed into her, making her cry out. Jaden looked away, not wanting to see his girlfriend hurt.
Alexis: 0
Jaden shut down his disk, walking up to the downed girl. As he got closer, her eyes snapped open. Before he could react, she shot up and ran at him. Expecting the worse, he braced.
Soft lips crashed on his, arms wrapping around his neck. His eyes snapped open, seeing her kissing him with tears running down her cheeks. She pulled away, sobbing.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."
He didn't say anything. Just held her tightly to him as she sobbed into his shoulder.
SHE IS BACK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! I am really proud of this duel and the twists I threw in. Yes, I am using the old power boost rules from season 1 of the original Yu-Gi-Oh. I felt a slight twist was needed and wanted to pay homage to the Anime that got me both into the game since elementary school and got be me back into watching Anime in general.
Speaking of homages...I would like to dedicate this chapter and all Yugioh Stories, past and future, that I have made to its creator, Kazuo Takahashi/Kazuki Takahashi. I know I am a month late to honor him, but life, she is a cruel bitch. Thank you, Takahshi-san, for giving us a manga, anime, and card game that still thrives to this day.
