AN: My friends... Story's Shadow's family lost a very loved family member recently. I pray that she's at peace in the Lord's kingdom, and pray that God grants him and his family strength, and hopes them heal in this midst of these hard times. Please pray for him and his family.
-Avengers' Tower, The Next Day: Three Days Until The Tournament-
White Tiger jogged in place, every now and then slashing.
Yuki stood with Raiden to the side, talking.
"Lord Raiden, we agree she is the fiercest amongst the three as well as the most passionate. Her tragic origin speaks to her will...but are you sure this is the best way to train her?" Yuki asked.
"A warrior must face their vulnerabilities at some point. She has before, but not in the way one might expect. Yes, she is much like her namesake yet still is unbalanced," Raiden answered.
-Observation room-
The younger heroes ate popcorn and placed bets over the training White Tiger would be faced with. The Avengers watched this with varying reactions.
"Friend Raiden has challenged the Man of Spiders and the Fist of Iron both, making them face difficult obstacles that stood against their weaknesses. I am most curious as to how he trains the Tiger of White," Thor said.
"She's a fierce young woman, deadly in all rights. Fury's told me she could go toe to toe with those trained in the Red Room around her age," Black Widow interjected.
Those there looked at her with shock.
"With the same amount of training and experience she has. I've seen the recordings of her training, she's impressive. Still, being faced with a challenge created by a god is no small task," she elaborated.
"Indeed. Natasha speak to the truth. Raiden will test her as she did her friends. This I look forward to," Thor agreed.
-Training room-
Raiden walked before her. White Tiger stopped jogging in place and locked eyes with him.
"Well? Let's get on with it. We don't have time to waste," White Tiger said.
Raiden looked up to the observation room and nodded. The room shifted into a tropical rainforest. White Tiger looked around, her eyes widening.
"Is this-?" She gasped.
Then she heard a familiar laughing.
She turned to see a figure standing on a branch before leaping down to the jungle floor. Her eyes narrowed in hatred as she recognized the figure as they walked forward.
"Well little cub, have your fangs and claws grown?" Kraven chuckled.
As a response, the claws in White Tiger's gauntlets extruded.
Kraven grinned at this, pulling out long dagger with a gleaming serrated edge armed in each hand. He took a low stance, one dagger leveled at her the other held to the side but ready.
"Come show me," he taunted.
White Tiger raced forward.
"HHHHiyaaahhh!" She called out, slashing with one hand.
Kraven ducked under the strike. He twisted quickly and slammed his elbow into her side. She grumbled and quickly flipped in his direction and kicked at hi, her feet striking his chest just barely as he evaded the brunt of the attack. Kraven grumbled as he raced forward.
"The amulet will be mine!" He proclaimed.
He grunted as he slashed with both blades quickly, short arcs aimed at the base of her neck. She managed to evade the attacks, striking out with her claws. But his slashes blocked each strike.
White Tiger backflipped a couple of times, grumbling in irritation as she devised a strategy.
Kraven suddenly threw both blades at her. She managed to deflect them with her claws.
"Is that all you've got?!" She snarled.
Kraven smirked, pulling out a metal tube. From either side extensions shot out and at the end of each is a glowing red and white energy blade.
White Tiger grumbled in annoyance.
Kraven shouted as he charged forward. He viciously slashed at White Tiger, who continued to evade the attacks. But Kraven's attacks became faster and closer to hitting. Tiger gasped as she barely managed to avoid the attacks, finding herself now mostly evading with little room for attacking. Kraven scoffed as he tripped her and raised the weapon, the blade's edge pointed at her heart.
Raiden held up his hand. Kraven slowly lowered the weapon to his side, his physical form taking the shape of an L.M.D.
White Tiger grunted and gasped as Raiden walked over to her. He held out a hand to her, but she slashed at it.
"What was that?! And you dare use him to train me?!" White Tiger spat in disgust.
Raiden remained calm as she continued her tirade.
"He murdered my father! Now you use his face to prepare me to fight?! And have him ready to kill me?!" White Tiger shouted.
"This was a lesson in failure, young lady," Raiden stated.
"What?" White Tiger grunted, confused.
"You fear that you will fail. Every time you go into a fight, a mission, you find yourself fearing deep within that you will fail. Your greatest fear," Raiden replied.
White Tiger grumbled under her breath, eyes narrowed.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" She scoffed.
"One must not feel so burdened by this. You are a fierce warrior, young woman. And your feats are many and impressive. But you still feel the same lingering feelings and concerns of doubt and despair. This eats at you in every mission. You push yourself to be the best, but you don't find balance with your fear. But that is ok, many share this," Raiden added.
White Tiger remained quiet, but her expression didn't relax.
Raiden stood before her.
"Fear of failure is nothing to be ashamed of. But trying to ignore it, deny or scoff at it is unwise. You are an incredible young woman with passion and heart, young lady. But to face and defeat what's coming, you must understand your fear and face it as well," Raiden advised.
White Tiger's angry expression slowly faded and nodded.
