AN: Here is a very thrilling fight between two different kind of fighters, yet they both share similar abilities and fighting skills. Hope Story's Shadow and I wrote your character well Rush.
-Shang Tsung's Island, Several Minutes Later-
Raiden watched Shang Tsung whisper with Quan Chi, the two sorcerers conversed for some time since Iron Fist defeated Sektor. The god of thunder looked to another part of the crowd, seeing the Lin Kuei Cyrax fuming as he walked off. Raiden turned to his brother.
"The sorcerers will scheme for a short time. I must meet another here to investigate and try to further the realms' freedom."
"Of course, but hurry, they will see your absence as an insult."
"I would hate to disappoint them."
Fujin smiled, nodding.
Raiden quietly exited the area.
Cyrax muttered under his breath as he walked through the gardens, fists clenched.
"It would seem you're taking Sektor's defeat too bitterly."
Cyrax swiftly turned, blades in hand. Raiden stood before him, arms crossed behind his back. The assassin mumbled as he put away his blades.
"Sektor falling to a boy's hands is an insult to the Lin Kuei."
"Iron Fist fought with honor and resolve, I cannot say the same for Sektor."
"Sektor may be many things, but he upholds the honor of the clan."
"There are some actions that have occurred that would present that the Lin Kuei has no honor."
Cyrax scoffed.
"Like the Cyber Initiative."
The assassin's eyes widened.
"How do you-?"
"There are matters of your clan that I do not know, but the anger that this course of action has not been subtle."
"To turn us into machines? It robs us of our autonomy and the balance of body and spirit."
"I agree. Still, your presence here presents the idea that you still follow foolish orders, greatest of all aligning with Shang Tsung."
"At the personal invitation of Shang Tsung."
"Yet killing your own realm's warriors will doom all who call Earthrealm home, including the Lin Kuei. There is doubt in you Cyrax. I suggest you heed it."
Cyrax didn't respond, he didn't know what to say. Raiden turned his head slightly.
"Shang Tsung shall announce the next fight. I advise you question your Grandmaster's plans and listen to your heart."
Raiden then walked away, leaving Cyrax alone with his thoughts.
-The Arena-
Raiden stood with his brother, both gods focused on the sorcerers. Shang Tsung smiled as he looked over the crowd.
"For the next fight, Yuki Onna shall fight!"
Raiden turned to the young warrior, whom nodded to the thunder god. She walked over and stepped into the arena, facing the sorcerer. She remained quiet, scowling at Shang Tsung. The sorcerer simply smirked.
"Her opponent: the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero!"
Everyone turned, seeing the Lin Kuei dressed in blue and black armor and robes walk through the crowd and onto the battlefield. Yuki turned to face him, eyes narrowed.
"Another assassin?"
"Call me what you wish, Ms. Onna. I am simply following my clan's path."
Amongst the shadows, two hellish eyes burned holes in the back of Sub-Zero.
Raiden turned to Fujin.
"Scorpion fumes from where he remains. Stay vigilant, though I feel he shall not interfere with this battle. He will wish to face Sub-Zero on his own."
"And if Ms. Onna kills Sub-Zero?"
"I don't know, given what told of the Shirai Ryu, she may show no mercy to her opponent. Though she won't waste words on the matter."
"Let us watch and see."
"...It's the only thing we can do..."
Yuki stood firm, her ice armor formed around her and a katana shaped into her hands. Sub-Zero's eyes narrowed, an ice Dao sword morphed into one hand.
Spider-Man's eyes widened.
"Two cryokintetics?"
Raiden didn't respond, he just watched and waited. Shang Tsung raised one hand the slashed it down.
"Fight!"
Yuki shuffled her feet forwards slowly, katana held before her.
Spider-Man scratched his head.
"What is she doing?"
Fujin shushed him.
Sub-Zero held his ice blade before him then rushed forward. He quickly cut the blade to the side, but Yuki quickly moved hers to block. The Lin Kuei lunged forward, striking down with both hands on the sword. Yuki shuffled back, pushing the strike to the side then moved in the direction opposite of where the Lin Kuei's blade moved.
Yuk shouted as she raised her blade and brought it down. Sub-Zero blocked with his sword as he quickly turned to meet her, one hand on the handle and the other pressed against the back side of the blade. The Lin Kuei grunted as he pushed her back. As she stumbled back he pressed his advantage. He rushed forward, slashing down with the blade. But Yuki brought her sword up, halting the strike, and moved to the opposite of where her foe's strike was directed. She quickly pushed his blade back, then lunged.
Her blade's stabbed forward, but Sub-Zero blocked the strike by pulling his sword down. He pushed her sword down then jumped a foot diagonally to the side and slashed at in a short arc back at her. Yuki held her blade close to her body, pushing her opponent's sword to the side as she quickly moved to the opposite place. Sub-Zero grunted as he dropped, twirling around and throwing a sweep kick.
Yuki leapt back, evading the kick then lunged forward as he moved for a stab. But Sub-Zero used the momentum of the sweep kick to slide slightly to the side, bringing up his blade and deflecting Yuki's attack. He quickly then followed up by bringing the sword down as straightened his posture then skidded forward slightly and threw out a palm strike. But Ms. Onna moved with her sword, side stepping the Lin Kuei's attack.
She struck out with one foot, which struck Sub-Zero in his torso. Sub-Zero skidded back but quickly regained his footing and rushed forward again. He slid as he brought down the sword with one hand only for Yuki to slip to the slide, his blade just barely meeting hers as she weaved around him. Yuki quickly followed this with a stab, but Sub-Zero quickly moved the sword up and around his back to block the strike.
As the Lin Kuei turned, Yuki shuffled back and with her sword raised up. Sub-Zero's eyes were met by his opponent's, her eyes unblinking as she focused her gaze. The Lin Kuei chuckled.
"Yuki Onna, of Japan's royal family.."
Yuki didn't respond, slowly shuffling around the Lin Kuei as he continued.
"Neither I nor the Lin Kuei seek conflict with your family. Know there is no dishonor in defeat."
Yuki's eyes narrowed. Sub-Zero sighed.
"Very well."
Yuki shuffled forward then struck out when her foe was in reach of her blade. The Lin Kuei quickly blocked the strike, his sword quickly brought up then pushed her blade away. He quickly slashed horizontally, but Yuki pulled her blade up and blocked the attack. She pushed his blade to the side then used one hand to grab his shoulder. She knelt down and widened her stance, throwing him as she pulled with her hand.
The Lin Kuei grunted as he flipped in the air and landed on his feet, turning to face Yuki. He then lunged forward.
Spider-Man turned to Raiden.
"So this is the guy that 'Scorpion' was talking about?"
"There has been a long, bitter feud between the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei, both clans who mastered the most secretive and deadly martial arts. Sub-Zero is rumored to be among the most skilled of the Lin Kuei."
"No matter how dangerous they are, they won't beat us. They can't."
Sub-Zero grunted as he slashed down with the sword, which was blocked by Yuki bringing hers up then slipped around him before going for a reverse stab. But the Lin Kuei quickly slashed back and down with his sword, deflecting the attack. Both turned, their blades clashing. They stared into one another's eyes before their blades separated. Sub-Zero lunged forward, striking out with his blade but Yuki kept a sword's length distance between them as he deflected his attacks.
Sonya's eyes widened a little.
"Like watching a samurai movie."
Raiden nodded.
Ms. Onna forced the next strike from Sub-Zero to the side then quickly moved to his exposed flank as she pulled her sword back and over her head. Bringing the sword down, she slashed at the Lin Kuei. But Sub-Zero saw this out of the corner of his eyes. His foot shifted sightly and a wall of ice shot up. While Yuki slashed through the wall, its rise delayed her attack and leapt Sub-Zero flip away.
As he flipped through the air, his sword vanished as and he threw out both hands in the direction of his opponent. As his hands moved as far as they could, ice daggers morphed and flew towards Yuki. As Sub-Zero landed on the ground once again, he watched the projectiles fly at high speeds. But Yuki had he sword ready and slung her sword, cutting through each dagger.
Sub-Zero grunted as he threw more ice daggers, aiming for his opponent's flanks. But Yuki cut through every single one. The Lin Kuei leapt up, kicking out with both feet in arcing strokes. From them, balls of ice shot forward and as he landed more kicks and punches were thrown with more ice shots flying forward.
Ms. Onna raced forward, her blade cutting through each attack as she raced forward.
Johnny Cage's eyes widened and his mouth dropped.
"Whoa."
Sub-Zero's eyes narrowed as he threw one hand onto the ground, ice covered the ground around his hand and surged forward. Ms. Onna leapt onto the ice skidded forward as she propelled herself along the frozen ground.
"I'm a cryomancer as well! You won't be able to defeat me so easily!"
Sub-Zero stood his ground as Yuki lunged forward, slashing with her blade. But Sub-Zero caught the attack with both hands.
Spider-Man's eyes widened.
"H-How did he? Other than his cryokinesis, he's just a human...not even a super soldier. How did he-?"
Raiden didn't turn his gaze to the wall crawler as he addressed him.
"With the right training and dedication, humans can achieve and master great things, Spider-Man. I'm surprised you find this so hard to believe."
Spider-Man tried to speak only for his focus to return to the fight. Sub-Zero gripped the blade with one hand then used the other to break it in two. Then he struck Yuki's hands, making her drop the rest of the sword. He then skidded back then halted, taking a fighting stance.
Yuki grumbled then took her own.
Ms. Onna raced forward, throwing out a swift kick only for Sub-Zero to brush the attack down with one hand. But Ms. Onna quickly retaliated with a punch which the Lin Kuei blocked, the other arm taking an L shape. Then he struck out with his other hand which flattened and aimed for Yuki's left shoulder. But she threw one arm up, pushing the strike up and away. Then she swiftly turned, throwing a chop at Sub-Zero's shoulder but her foe side stepped the attack throwing an open palm strike forward. Yuki pushed the attack to the side with her other arm.
Ms. Onna leapt up and threw a horizontal kick which she turned with the attack. But Sub-Zero moved his head back, just out of range of the attack. Yuki grunted as she quickly fell to the ground and launched her next attack. She struck out with three kicks with the same foot, aiming for her opponent's head. But Sub-Zero blocked the attacks, moving his arms in quick succession to meet and halt each strike.
Sub-Zero quickly launched a punch forward, but Yuki pushed the strike to the side and over he shoulder. The Lin Kuei kicked out with one foot, but the attack was halted by one hand from his opponent as she caught him by his ankle. But her hand quickly started to literally freeze. She pulled her hand back and the ice instantly melted. But the Lin Kuei then struck, a horizontal chop struck Yuki's waist from the side above one hip.
Yuki grunted in pain but quickly struck back. She threw a swift punch, aiming for her foe's head. But the Lin Kuei weaved around the attack as his opponent moved forward with the strike. Yuki quickly slashed her hand back and around as she turned with the strike. But Sub-Zero ducked under the attack then launched his own punch, striking his opponent above the hip.
Yuki grunted as she quickly retaliated, throwing several swift punches as her foe moved back and blocked each attack. Sub-Zero jumped and threw a sweep kick. Yuki jumped over the attack. Sub-Zero's hand touched the ground again and froze the area where Yuki landed. But his opposing cryomancer turned the spot to snow as soon as her foot touched it before it melted away.
Sub-Zero rose to his feet and rushed forward. Yuki raced to meet him. She leapt up and threw a kick forward, but the Lin Kuei slid around the attack. As Yuki landed on the ground she quickly threw a side kick, but Sub-Zero side stepped the attack. Ms. Onna turned with her hand, trying to strike him with the back of her hand. But Sub-Zero turned with her attack, striking a blow to her exposed back with a punch.
She swiftly turned, blocking his next punch. But the Lin Kuei pressed the attack, throwing more punches as he pushed her back. Yuki grunted as she pushed the strikes to the side. Sub-Zero leapt up and threw out a side kick. Yuki grabbed his leg above the ankle as the strike nearly landed. Then she struck back, one fist slammed into his flank and forced him back. But he quickly landed on his hands and propelled himself onto his feet.
He lunged forward as soon as he was on his feet. Yuki grunted as she blocked the first punch from her opponent, but Sub-Zero pushed her arm aside with his other hand. He twisted and knelt down, his elbow striking Yuki's side. Yuki gasped in pain as she stumbled back.
She grunted as she steadied herself as the Lin Kuei stood erect. Yuki grunted as she readied herself. She rushed forward, throwing several swift punches. But Sub-Zero blocked or pushed aside each strike, one hand brushing her jabs to the side or using his arm to halt the attack.
Yuki grunted as she threw a flat handed strike at her foe's face, but Sub-Zero moved his head to the side, using the closer arm to the attack to push it to the side then turned and landed another blow to Yuki's flank. She grunted as she turned to meet him. She leapt, throwing a kick forward. The Lin Kuei blocked the attack with one arm then used his other hand to strike just above her waist.
Sub-Zero then dropped down, using a sweep kick against the leg Yuki was standing on. She fell grunting and coughing.
She picked herself up as the Lin Kuei stood over her. Yuki grunted as she launched another attack. Throwing a swift punch forward at an arc, but Sub-Zero moved the back of one hand forward and blocked the attack. Yuki quickly followed up with a swift kick, raising it and throwing it horizontally at her foe's head. But Sub-Zero blocked the attack, using the back of one arm and the other hand to push it away. Then he threw an open palm strike, the attack being caught between both of Yuki's hands. But the Lin Kuei struck with his other hand, the blow landing at one armpit.
Yuki grunted as she placed one hand over the attack, feeling the ache from her foe's attack. Sub-Zero's eyes stared into hers, only to receive a look mixed with pain and resolve.
Yuki threw one hand forward, but Sub-Zero caught her attack with both hands. One snatched her wrist the other just below the elbow. He used the closer hand to slash a chop which struck her shoulder. Yuki grunted in pain as the Lin Kuei then there a kick forward, the blow striking her hip and sent her skidding back.
Yuki cried out in pain but quickly tried to get onto her feet. But the blow to her hip kept her from standing. Sub-Zero walked forward, but Yuki supported herself on hero the leg and raised her hands. An ice bow formed in one hand and a string was pulled back into the other, an arm formed.
Yuki growled as she fired the arrow, but Sub-Zero caught it.
Spidey's eyes widened.
"HUH?!"
Sub-Zero threw the arrow away. But Yuki grunted as she fired more ice arrows. Sub-Zero used the back and side of his arms, breaking the arrows as they came near. Yuki panted as she continued to fire, but Sub-Zero closed in and continued to break the arrows, his armor protecting him.
Yuki grunted as she pressed the hand that didn't hold the bow against the ground, a small wave of ice pushed her away from her foe at a safe distance. The bow evaporated as in the other hand formed an ice spear. Sub-Zero rushed forward as Yuki threw the spear. But the Lin Kuei halted, throwing one hand up and slammed the back of it against the spear as it near and snapped it in two as it fell against the ground.
Yuki's eyes widened at this but then narrowed as she threw more spears. Sub-Zero did to these as he did to the first.
Spider-Man's eyes widened.
"...No..."
Yuki grunted as Sub-Zero closed the distance, her ice katana forming in her hands. She slashed with the blade, but Sub-Zero caught it in both hands. Her broke her hold on the blade as he did with the other before. Yuki grunted as she formed another blade, but the one that was taken from her was now held at her.
Yuki panted, eyes widened. But then she sighed, closing her eyes.
"Finish it."
But the blow didn't come. She heard the blade clatter against the ground. She looked up at the Lin Kuei. He placed one hand, formed into a fist, into the other and bowed.
Shang Tsung frowned at this.
"The victor is Sub-Zero!"
Sub-Zero turned to see Raiden and the others hurrying over to Yuki.
"You fought well Ms. Onna. It was an honor to fight you."
Before Yuki could reply, the Lin Kuei walked off. Then her attention went to the pain, she winced and groaned. Raiden knelt before her.
"Be still."
Like with the other fighters, he used his magic to heal her. Yuki sighed, finally standing, and bowed to the thunder god.
"Thank you, Lord Raiden."
Raiden bowed to her.
"You fought bravely, Ms. Onna. I'm sorry."
"Why didn't he do it? We heard Scorpion, he said Sub-Zero killed his clan."
Raiden turned to his brother. Fujin didn't say anything, but Raiden saw the look of the wind god's face.
"It's true the Lin Kuei did kill his clan...still...I sense something else happened...and is happening here."
