Chapter 4

Heidi POV

She was thinking of who would be stupid enough to be in her room, her sanctuary, her private place to spend time to relax. She put Isabella closer towards her more protectively. She pushed her door with force, and was shocked to see none other than Felix, the one and only person who is a big flirt and definitely loves to flirt with her.

Felix was there lying on her bed with his shoulders holding his head up, with his head facing towards me with a look that she was looking into her soul and making her feel like she was gonna melt on the spot. She was startled with the shock and all the feelings that he made her feel of him being there caused her to accidentally wake Isabella.

"Shush, shush Isabella your auntie Heidi is here so you don't worry go back to sleep everything is fine".

"Erm, Hi honey! Who is that you got in your arms? He questioned with a slight curiosity.

"Sorry that I accidentally woke whatever that is in your hands." He followed up with a bitter tone and a frown on his face, as he could see that something else was getting her attention, and it wasn't him. He was so used to it as she knew he liked the attention that she used to give him before Isabella came into her life most recently.

She decided to speak up " this here is Isabella, yes she's human but she was left at the castle doors and the kings have allowed her to stay and Marcus said I have an auntie bond with her so I will protect her like she's my family" she stated to him.

Felix sat up and just looked shocked but didn't say anything.

She carried on "she is also not a that or a thing or anything that you may think to call her, her name is Isabella and I want you to start calling her by her name" she finished off with an irritated tone in her voice.

"Also another thing: when did you get back and why didn't you call to say that you were on your way back". She said with frustration.

Felix just stayed silent in shock as he wasn't used to seeing this different side to the same woman he often flirted with in the past.

"Erm, erm, I'm sorry that I called her that I will try to call her by her name" Felix replied sheepishly while still in shock. "I just wanted to surprise you but I didn't expect to find you holding that thing… I mean Isabella in your hands when you came into your room" he continued with a slightly bitterness and resentment in his tone but still keeping a smile plastered on his face.

"Well if you don't mind me I would appreciate you to leave the room so Isabella can sleep some more until her room is sorted and before you ask I know you just got back but when I know she is fast asleep we can talk more and it's already pretty late in the night coming up for the morning a few short hours" she told him.

"If you're sure," Felix said with a slight annoyance in his voice as he walked out of her room and closed the door behind himself.

After Felix left her room she noticed that Isabella was fast asleep in her arms so she slowly placed her on her bed, even though she knew that Isabella needed a cot for her to sleep safely without her falling out and possibly injuring herself or worse.

So she found the basket that held her before when she found her by the castle doors and placed her in that so she could move freely and quickly get herself a snack to deal with her thirst that she only just noticed due to everything that's gone on that caused her to forget about it.

She knew that her masters the kings would make sure no harm comes to Isabella especially Aro as he declared that he be a father figure to Isabella even if she herself was a bit unsure if Aro knew what that meant.

She walked towards to the throne room and told her masters that she going out to deal with her thirst so she doesn't get any temptations near Isabella and if they could make sure that Isabella will be safe while shes out as she doesn't want to be out long even in the early hours of the morning.

She knew where to go to deal with her thirst as she likes to get her blood from criminals as she would rather have less of those in the world than kill off the innocents who don't deserve death. So off she went in the early hours in the morning to go to the alley ways where she knew she would find her meal.

Felix POV

After I left Heidi's room I knew that I should go to the masters to let them know of my return from the mission and let them know how it went and any other details they need to know about but I still felt bitter from what happened in Heidi's room and I couldn't get it out of my head.

What the hell would a small human be doing in this castle among vampires when humans have always been seen as cattle, food or as blood bags with legs. I just couldn't work it out and I found it even more strange how my masters, the kings of the whole freaking vampire world would be so allowing of it.

I continued to keep walking at a slow pace as I didn't see any point in making my way to the masters with all that's going on.

"Why would Heidi pick that thing, parasite over me who makes her knees melt at the sight of me, it couldn't be my looks or my strength that's causing her to not want me it's that thing and I know what I need to do to get my Heidi back" he thought darkly, with bitterness and resentment.
