So here's the fifth chapter and I do hope you enjoy it as this one is longer than my other four chapters that I've done.

Chapter 5

Reneta POV

So here she was standing guard hidden within the shadows of the corner of the throne room, she was so silent and stayed still that she literally became part of the shadow which made her as invisible as possible as she was wearing her black volturi cloak which made it more possible to blend in. She made sure that her mind was as clear as possible and that her focus was on what was happening to ensure that she was always ready, for any possible attacks that could happen to her master. She knew these attacks could happen at any time or anywhere her master went and she was to follow but not be seen or heard so it gave her the advantage to protect her master when he required it to make sure he wasn't attacked by anyone who has a grudge or vengeance against him.

She also ensured that she heard everything that was happening in the throne room so she has the information to make the right judgements as she doesn't want to protect her master if it's not needed or if someone in the coven is just coming to him to show him what they seen through his gift of tactile telepathy which allows him to see everything anyone has ever thought.

One of the conversations that happened in the throne room that piqued her interest in particular was what was said with Heidi when she brought in the human child that was mentioned that was called Isabella. She found that she actually liked the name and she herself thought that while it was a little newborn baby that she assumed must not be any older than a few weeks from how it was so well hidden in Heidi's arms that she knew it must be harmless at this moment in time so she saw it to be no threat to her master and chose to not intervene and continued to keep observing and listening.

A few hours later after the discussion had ended, they decided what they were gonna do with Isabella. She felt excited to find out she will get the chance to see her grow up and hopefully get to spend time with her or even get to babysit or something along those lines if she ever got the chance.

More time has passed and Heidi returned back into the throne room, she looked quite frustrated from which she guessed due to the tone of her voice and her body language which she herself has learnt about from observation of the guards and all other vampires throughout her time she has spent with the volturi. She noticed how Heidi didn't give the kings any reason for why she felt the way she did. and she asked her master and his brothers that Isabella was asleep in the basket that she arrived in, also that she was safely in her room, lastly that she needed to go feed and deal with her thirst.

When Heidi had left, her master called with some urgency and seriousness in his tone "Reneta I need you to do something for me please and I need it done now".

She knew it was very uncommon for her master to want her to do anything that wasn't protecting him so she made herself known and went in front of the three ancient and righteous looking, black and gold thrones. Each of the three thrones containing the three kings sitting down in a way that shows that they differ from each other as Marcus sits on his throne with a bored look where he wishes to not be there and rather be somewhere else instead, Caius sits on his throne with serious look that gives the effect to fear him and that he is always up for a fight, and finally her master Aro sits his throne with such majestic nature but close to enough to seem like a small child who fidgets from being so giddy with seeing new people some who may have gifts or some who have information that adds to his current knowledge that he picks up from everyone his touches with his ability.

Once she is front of the three Kings she bows her head in a submissive way awaiting for any command that she is given and will do what shes told as she loves to please her master and his brothers as she wants to show that she's loyal and worth the high level that she has in the guard that puts her as master Aros personal guard, she waits for her master to speak to her to let her know what he requires of her in such urgency.

Aros POV

"I'm assuming you already have guessed, for what I'm about to ask of you is this unusual request that I'm about to ask of you as you have always been my personal bodyguard of sorts ever since you started here" he expressed in a calm manner.

He carried on saying "so as you already know we have a human in this castle, who is a newborn baby called Isabella and I would like you to guard her until I say otherwise" he told her with a bit of doubt a bit of worry as he wasn't use to not having her around if any possible danger was gonna get him.

"Since you have done such a brilliant job of guarding me throughout just over these six centuries and a decade, I thought you would like a change of scenery, but also I want to see how you cope with dealing with Isabella who has different needs and is more likely to have more need of your services as a guard due to her being human and not a vampire, so she is more breakable and more likely have vampires who want to kill or harm her".

He waited to see if she had a response to what he said even if she was the timid, shy type but loyal to a fault.

"Are you sure master?" Reneta said rather timidly.

"Yes I'm sure, all I ask of you is to stay hidden but keep a sharp eye and guard her like you would if it was me". He paused then continued "Make sure no harm comes to Isabella as I know that Heidi is awfully protective of her as she was the first to see her and as you know also has a bond with her."

"Not just that but you're the only one from the entirety of the guard with this, and I know I'm repeating myself with this but I trust as you more than the rest of the guard to have a level head when it comes to this and of course you been so loyal to me for so long and with your exceptional gift, I'm certain that you be perfect and the best guard that she has ever seen, and not to mention be grateful for in the future" he explained while feeling very proud and showing how much he has been very grateful for all the work she has done for him.

"Another thing is you have to stay hidden even from the rest of the guard, including from anyone else who enters the room who may try to harm Isabella". He continued "Therefore if I say otherwise don't let them tell you to do anything apart from what I've just told you, as we can't trust that the rest of the guard will treat Isabella the same way as none of them know what has been said in the meet except you, Heidi and us three as of yet but we will be calling a guard meeting to tell the rest in due time" he said with a bit more of a serious tone than normal.

Reneta bows her head and turns around and heads through the throne doors.

Reneta POV

As I'm walking to Heidi's room to keep guard like my master has requested of me, I can't help but have this one thought in my head with some doubts. "I hope I don't mess this up as I've done well so far and this is the first time that I've been away from personally guarding my master and I know he isn't one to ask me to do this type of request so easily".

I arrive close to Heidi's room and so far the door is still closed and intact, so it's safe to say no one has entered since Heidi's departure which means it should be safe for me to go in and start doing what I do best.

So I opened the door and looked in to see my surroundings of the room and where would be best to stand guard and have the best view of Isabella and anyway that anyone who may enter will come in. After getting a good look of my surroundings I found a spot that I decided is perfect, and after a lot of consideration I chose the corner of the room with a darker enough of a shadow that's near a window but close to the door, which is a close proximity to where Isabella is sleeping. The shadow in the room is good enough to help keep hidden, close enough to be invisible due to still wearing my cloak.

I debate quietly in my head if I should see what Isabella looks like or not, I choose to do it quickly and quietly, have a glance over as I don't see any harm and when I do, I don't regret it. "She's beautiful" I thought to myself with surprise and adoration, I quickly moved back to my spot in the shadows and kept watch.

(One hour later)

Not much has been happening really, only Isabella turning about in her basket getting comfortable but other than that it's been a quiet and calm atmosphere in the room. Few minutes go by and there is still nothing until I hear some movement by the door but I still don't move and continue to listen. I just watch to see if anyone comes in, but a few seconds go pass and no one comes in, so I begin to relax again but still keep my guard up just to be sure.

"Hmm, guess it must have been nothing and it was just my mind playing tricks on me" she thought after it went quiet again in the room.

Then all of a sudden the door gets forced open with a loud "BANG!!!!" She was surprised with the force that the door was forced open that the door itself didn't fall off. "I'm glad that all the doors and hinges in the guards rooms are made of a tough material as if they weren't then it could cause a lot of problems" she thought while watching the scene unfold in front of her, while mentally preparing herself for what will come through the door.

After the door was open in the way it was she knew it wasn't long until she saw who forced the door open to get into the room. She was so ready for it to be nomad but was in for a surprise to see that it was none other than Felix, an trusted guard one who was in a high position like her, charging into the room and straight towards Isabella with a dark, sinister look on his face, "boy was he angry but I don't understand why he is feeling that way and at Isabella" she was thinking in her head but shocked at the same time.

From the shock of seeing Felix charging at Isabella, she completely forgot to put up a shield to protect Isabella but within that time that she didn't put that shield up was when, she looked to see if Felix got to Isabella or not, she was shocked for the second time, as Felix in fact didn't make it to Isabella. Instead he got launched back towards the wall which was very close to where she was standing in the corner, and he was embedded into the wall. Due to the force that he was launched at he was stuck in the wall, one due to the shock but also due to being completely knocked out which is very rare or none existent for vampires to be that knocked out where they have reached the level of unconsciousness.

She moved away from where she was standing and went to check on Felix and he was still completely out of it and unconscious. She then walked over to Isabella and noticed that she was fine but was awake but not crying like she thought she would have expected, but her eyes were red but then she blinked which reverted them back to their original brown coloured eyes. She didn't want to believe it and just assumed it must have been the lighting or something because from what she knew no human can willingly change their eye colour as babies or any other stage of their life, unless they wear contacts to change the colour.

She knew for a fact that Isabella wasn't wearing any contacts at her age either or had gift or ability to forcibly change her colour of her eyes or even be able to do what she did to Felix who has the strength of a newborn even after the newborn vampire stage which was like his gift of some kind, so she was completely clueless as to how everything happened and how Isabella did what she did at the age she is.

She stayed near Isabella who was still awake, but thought that she might need more sleep as it's still early hours of the morning, so she sang her a lullaby from a time she barely remembers to help get her to sleep when she was human, she hoped it would do the same for Isabella. She waited for a few minutes after singing the lullaby a few times to see if Isabella was sleeping but still nothing. So she decided to pick up the basket while Isabella is still awake and walked out the opened door of Heidi's room, with felix still embedded in the wall and unconscious, and decided to go and tell her master and his brothers about what just happened and let them decide what they are gonna decide to do about Felix and how they will explain it all to Heidi when she returns from where she went to feed, as it happened in her room and that she was Isabella's aunt.

She kept walking at a human pace while still having the nagging feeling of dread and worry, as she has never failed at protecting Aro her master but failed protecting Isabella who isn't her master. She felt terrible inside as she loves her job and can't stand the thought that the first time it's been someone who isn't her master and she has failed so badly even if Isabella is alive she didn't do anything but froze on the spot as it wasn't who she expected and things could've gone worse if Felix actually got to Isabella.

She eventually managed to walk into the throne room to see the three Kings sitting on their thrones just staring in her direction. Her master Aro decides to stand from his throne and walks to her with worry and concern as she's guessing he's assuming that she's here because something happened and she knew deep down that he was right to worry because it did go wrong.

"I hope there's a reason why you're here with Isabella in the basket in your arms and why I heard a loud sound, please explain what happened," Aro said quickly with anticipation and worry.

"I don't know how the best way to explain it but I beg of you to please let me try to explain as best as I can in detail, then you may see it yourself when you look at my memories and decide what you like to do with the information I have given you through the memories and what I'm about to tell you" she said timidly but with as much confidence she could muster while slightly shaking inside from asking my master of this as he doesn't like being told what to do by the guards who are ranked below him.
