Chapter 9

Heidi POV

"You haven't missed much, with Felix he is just in the dungeons as we was awaiting your return to discuss a suitable punishment as we want your involvement in it as it not just happened in your room but affected Isabella who sees you as auntie so it's only fair you have a shared opinion on the punishment which we don't offer on a normal basis, but what happened wasn't or isn't something that can be called normal either" Aro explained to her to answer her earlier question.

"As to what we have been talking about is been about the mission from Jane and Alec's side of it as they went one side to do their mission and we are yet to ask Demetri about what he saw when he was with Felix on the same mission as that could clue us in on what could have made Felix do something so stupid but if not then it might make punishing him easier, the reason we haven't spoken to Demetri is that he was taking Felix to the dungeons at the time and we all know how long that takes to take anyone there" he followed up from his previous explanation from her earlier question.

Just as she was about to respond back she saw both of the twins walking towards her, she got a bit worried as she still had Isabella in her arms. She saw the twins stop a few feet away from her.

"We are not gonna harm her we just want to introduce ourselves to her as it seems everyone has but us and Demetri who I think will come over in his own time it looks like but I think even him won't harm her as our masters explained what happened with the whole Felix thing and everything before that too with how she was found and other stuff, we promise that we won't let anyone harm her or even attempt to and you know how protective I am and plus with my gift and my brothers gift, you know how everyone is afraid of us with our gifts as they don't like being under it so trust us little Isabella will be in safe hands with us protecting her" Jane told her with a genuine smile with the first part of her speech and then one of her knowing evil smirks playing on her lips as she said the last part of speech.

"Thank you Jane and alec I appreciate it and Demetri your welcome to come and say hi when your ready as I think that Isabella will love to have a big protective brother" she said with a smile and a slight laugh one she hasn't used in so long it hurt but she didn't care.

"So should we get on to what is gonna happen with Felix as on my way here I swear I heard a grumble from the dungeons that I assumed must have been him when I got here, and we know that if he has awoken then it won't be long till he start shouting and demanding to be released and so forth" she turned back and asked her masters knowing that they would like to get it over and done with all well.

"You are correct we shall and I can also find out what Demetri knows if he could bring me his hand so I can check too, yes I heard the grumble too but we leave him there for a bit till we're ready and I will send someone to fetch him"

Demetri allowed him to check and it confirmed what he knew that Felix wasn't with him the whole time but just assumed it might have been to deal with his thirst and then after he checked he spoke to his brothers about what they was gonna do and ask everyone their opinions to see if they match his and his brothers decisions.

Felix POV

"Why the Romanians they won't be able to help as the last I heard from the Kings there are only two of them remaining from their coven" he told his shadowy self.

"That is where you're wrong as that is what the volturi thinks but the Romanians always made sure they kept an ace up their sleeves just to be on the safe side if things didn't go their way"

"That still doesn't explain how the Romanians can help me," he said.

"Easy you find them and you get more explanation, because as long as you're still with the Volturi nothing that's said can be hidden, also I can only block pieces of this conversation from him so you do what you have to with the Volturi and when you get your chance to escape and find the Romanians then do it."

"We will wait for as long as it takes as there are still other important parts and other factors that are missing to make this war be in all of our favour as you have to lose some battles to win a war."

You will now be woken but remember stay alive and when the time is right find us and try not to harm Isabella just yet as it will make it harder for you to get out and if you can gather as much information as possible that would help out but don't think too much about what I said just act as you was before all this happened" his shadowy self reminded me.

Not long after my shadowy self finished talking I began to awake and all I could do was grumble and get myself to stand up and take in my surroundings to see if I could escape but realised that I was in the dungeons in a jail cage that I knew I couldn't escape from plus that I couldn't find anything to use to climb up to get out of it due to it being so far down into the ground.

I began circling the cage more and more waiting with anticipation hoping they wouldn't keep me here for too long but I heard nothing as I was too far away to be able to hear anything but then I had an idea to try and get their attention to know that I'm still alive and awake. I went from one side of the cage and charged with all my might into the other side of it to cause as much noise as possible and I did this for a few minutes which I knew I couldn't break the bars of the cage but it would cause an enormous amount of sound to ricochet off the walls of the dungeons like an echo to alert everyone of his presence and to know he wants out now.

Aro POV

"Jane be a dear, would you be so kind as to get Felix out of the dungeons, bring him here, you may do whatever you need to get him here and behave accordingly" he told Jane with a small smile on his face.

He knowingly had a smile on his face due to the fact that he knew Jane would use her gift on Felix as much as possible for what he did and just because she can to torture Felix all the way back here which he didn't have a problem with as Felix was to be punished and if it means getting tortured on the way to be given the punishment then so be in and he isn't one to usually be happy with it as it was usually Caius who be OK with it but because it was one of his guards that he thought was loyal to the coven and that he attempted to harm Isabella and also didn't come straight to the throne room right after returning from his mission like he was supposed to he had little of care about it now.

"You're smiling again master, is it that you're gonna get Felix in to give him his punishment and you started it early with getting Jane to bring him here as you know she loves using her gift and that it will ensure that even after coming out of his unconscious state he will still be tortured?" Heidi asked him.

"Why yes that is the precise reason for why I got Jane to get him and I also think that Alec you may use your gift on him anytime during his time being punished to make sure that he doesn't feel that the punishment he's getting is him getting off easy as I feel that everyone will enjoy seeing Felix getting punished and he won't be the wiser to some of the attacks or certain types of punishment he be getting" he told her as he knew that both of his brothers agreed with him on it as both him and Caius was talking about it early on during the day before Hindi's outburst occurred.

The door opened with Jane dragging Felix with some of the vampire metal cuffs that were tightly secured around on his legs with a chain that was made of the same stuff. H

He remembered that he got them made ages ago alongside when the vampire proof cage was done just in case for emergencies or if he wanted to chain them up while outside of the cage like Felix is currently.

"So it looks like you been having some fun with him I hope you didn't do too much that you left none for anyone else who wants a limb or two of him" Caius darkly chuckled behind him while he was cracking his knuckles.

He could see where Felix finally managed to stand up while still chained and being held by Jane who despite her tiny statue was able to hold him close by to her with strength that you wouldn't expect from her size but that is why you should never underestimate her. He knew for a fact that when she found the chance between missions or doing guard duty she would train with her brother and other guards and sometimes on the rare basis when Caius was in the mood to train and train to improve herself with her gift so she could be a force to be reckon even without her gift to be used.

Felix looked terrible as he looked worn which he knew must have been from mainly from Jane and her gift torturing him and also what Caius said when he entered the room as well which if it was possible it would have made he turn even whiter than possible for their kind.

"So now that the pleasantries is over with and felix has arrived and im sure that everyone is here who should be I think we should get down to what we all been waiting for…. which is what the punishment is for Felix for trying to cause harm to our dear isabella and also for disobedience as when anyone returns from their missions they are to come straight to us to give us the details of the mission and let us know how it went so we able to make the decision to decide what to do, but he has chosen to ignore it and therefore deserves punishment for that alongside it" he announced to everyone in the room.

No one chose to say anything except for Felix who decided to speak up but before he had a chance to Jane used her gift which caused him to scream very loud which made Caius start to get annoyed which everyone knew he hated screamer as it shows weakness and he hates dealing with weak vampires as their kind are supposed to be strong and not weak.

"Jane would you be able to let him speak and if he still hasn't got anything of use to say or relevant to say you can use your gift on him again as I think his screaming is irritating my brother and we know if that happens then felix may be left without a head for quite some time which would be good but we need his head in tact so we can deal with punishing him now" he told Jane.

"If your certain then I will but I swear if his head gets removed I have a few ideas for where it could go and I think Caius would like them" Jane said with her usual sadistic nature showing once more.

"Jane please after we dealt with this weakling's punishment stay behind so we could discuss more of your ideas for his head as he won't be having his head on all the time and I think we could have some fun with his head" Caius said with a evil smirk on his face and also some joy in his voice, which made everyone worry what they could be upto and made Felix try and move away from Jane but she wouldn't make it easy for him and pulled him closer.

"So now we can discuss his punishment, for disobedience he is to not go on any missions for five years, but if he thinks that is good then he forgets that isn't because we don't trust him it's so he can be the test dummy in the training room for all recruits to train their gifts on and for anyone to use as a punching or kicking dummy as well, secondly when he isn't busy as a testing dummy he will be kept in the dungeons chained and alone in the cage he was previously kept in for additional of ten years for attacking isabella who is not just a newborn child but who is also in our care and protection as she was left here and we have plans for her when she is older enough to be able to do them such as being a fellow ruler of the vampire kind as a princess" he announced to everyone in the room.

He knew that everyone was waiting for him to finish as they knew he wasn't finished yet, which he wasn't and this bit he wasn't looking forward to saying as he hated this bit but he knew it had to be said too.

"Finally as much as neither any of us wanna admit but unfortunately it has to be said we do want to thank you for your stupidly as it did show us something we didn't expect or knew existed which dear isabella has shown to have a gift which is untested due to her age which when older enough we be training her to harness and strengthen more than it is, also that she may not be fully human but something else which may become clear in time" he said with a bit regret, which came with a bit of self doubting in his mind about the whole thing.

He always hates it when he has to thank anyone, ally or enemy who did a bad thing that may have lead to something good to come out of it, but it just never felt right to him as something bad shouldn't always have something good to come out of it but he knew he wouldn't change it as this time it was something he may regret saying it but doesn't regret what came from it either.

"Felix you should be grateful for the loyalty that you have shown during your years of being with us as that is the only reason you was let off easy instead of just being ripped from limb to limb and then thrown into the fire to your death, so take this chance to try and make amendments with everyone and learn from your complete stupidly, as one more mistake and you be thrown into that fire by myself and I was the one who was determined to throw you in it but its thanks to my two brothers and the others who were your friends who managed to persuade me to agree with my brothers to let you off easy just due to your service with us and nothing more" Caius said with anger in his voice as he cracked his knuckles against his throne arm rests.

Felix didn't say anything as it looked like he was in deep thought as to what just happened or he hoped that felix was as he would have regretted his decision and would have favoured Caius decision instead because no matter that he wants to be like a father to isabella and a good master to the others in the coven he had to be a king which comes above everything else which meant he had to make the tough decisions which they don't always go in his favour as it has to be unanimous with his two brothers and he always tries to let the others in the coven to have their opinion heard so they felt they have a opinion that could make a difference.

"Just remember Felix that we will be watching you at all times and that will be through our eyes or from everyone else as I will get my brother to use his gift to be checking on you to ensure you don't make us regret our decision to keep you alive" Marcus said with a unnecessary breathe to get his point across as he doesn't usually talk much.

Now with Isabella in their lives, with everyone in the castle knowing that she can't be harmed due to telling Jane and the others to spread it to everyone else now that the unpleasantness of Felix's punishment has been sorted. He knows that things have only just begun to change already in the castle and it will be interesting to see how far things change and what's gonna happen next.

He's hoping life will be quieter, but knows deep down that with Isabella in the castle things will definitely won't be boring or quiet for very long either.
