An Hour After Leaving Jacques Behind
Azure landed on the ground near the Monster Community. "We're here." Weiss said quietly as the girls hopped off where Blake put a comforting hand on Weiss, as she was still a bit sad and frustrated after the ordeal with her so-called father.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay." Blake told her.
"I know…" Weiss nodded and with a deep breath, they walked over to the entrance where a few Restless Armours were waiting for them. "Oh?"
BGM: Bustling Town (Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age)
"Hey, you are to come with us." A Restless Armour said.
"Uh… okay." Blake nodded as the Restless Armours escorted the two to their destination.
"Think these guys are our escorts?" Weiss whispered.
"Probably." Blake responded as they made their way to Bookwyrm's office, where they would see him talking to some Slimes outside of his building. They would notice that this particular Professaurus that his scales were blue, the spikes on his back are red, he has golden eyes, his scholar clothing is white, his scarf is yellow, his cane wand has a blue orb on top and is longer than most Professaurus' canes, and he wears glasses.
"Ah, you must be the humans that you wanted to come visit." He said.
"Yeah, that's us." Weiss nodded.
"Well, technically, I'm not a human… I'm a Faunus." Blake corrected.
"And yet, you have human features, so technically… you're a human in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being discriminatory… I always found it odd that Faunus only have one animal characteristic, why they don't have more… I'll never understand. Just having cat ears and nothing else doesn't cut it for me. For all I care, those cat ears could be an accessory."
Blake raised an eyebrow. Oh, this guy's lovely already… She thought. "I… understand."
"So, why are humans like you requesting an audience with me? You want to check out the town just in case you want to destroy it later with the infamous Mario Bros?"
"What? No!" Weiss said.
"With the Luminary then?"
"No, not at all!" Blake said.
"Then what is it?"
"We want to learn magic!" Weiss said.
"So you can burn this community to the ground?"
"No, it's to help expand our repertoire of abilities and help defeat the Crimson Fang!" Weiss said. "We're not gonna destroy your town… that's not who we are!"
"Ahem… forgive me, humans… I have been a bit on edge recently ever since some of our fellow monsters recommended a cartoon or "anime", as they call it. This cartoon in question was about a team of fairy wizards destroying every town or community that they go to… and I figured that's what humans do best. So my apologies for thinking you were going to do such a horrid thing."
"Now why would we do that?" Blake folded her arms.
"Humans are full of surprises… my old heart can't take it…" He mumbled. "Speaking of which, normally humans are not allowed in this town… however, there are three exceptions. Lord Torchwick, Lady Neopolitan and… Marnie."
"Marnie?" Weiss tilted her head. "Why her specifically?"
"Because she helped save Lord Bowser from a ragtag group of aliens, and he was so elated that he brought her in the Koopa Troop."
Blake sweatdropped. "I thought that was a joke."
"So did she, but Bowser happily welcomed her. It's not every day that we have a goth in our army."
"Punk!" A voice said as they turned to see Marnie. "How many times do I have to tell you that I'm a punk, not a goth! There's a major difference!"
"Ah, the young lady always likes to kid around." Bookwyrm chuckled.
"Uh, you do know Marnie likes to hang around with us and will tend to help us out on our adventures against Bowser, right?" Weiss pointed out.
"Oh, of course! But she's always gentle with us monsters and tends to help us out, so hey, she's good in our book. And before you ask, yes, we know she's a Gym Leader in Galar, which is why we made a teleportation device that can take her here if she would like." Bookwyrm explained. "She even has a second home here! So yes, despite her helping you heroes out, she's still always welcome in Lord Bowser's Kingdom."
"Even the castle?"
"That is correct. Free reign over the castle, chat with Lord Bowser, all of that stuff."
"Wait a minute, if that's the case and Bowser wasn't kidding around, then shouldn't Jaune have free reign too?" Weiss asked.
"Technically yes, but Jaune said he wasn't entirely interested and Lord Bowser understood. However, he is still welcome if he so chooses." He explained. "Anyway, you humans want to learn magic, correct?"
"Yes." Weiss nodded.
"Well now, this is an unexpected turn of events… but if you have had trouble with Adam Taurus with his new abilities, then I don't see why not that we can train you humans up. However, there are some conditions that you must bide by."
"Oh?" Blake wondered.
"You will have to make appointments. We are helping Lord Bowser kidnap Peach on some basis in our daily lives, or doing these sports and party games. Two: Since the monsters here will be happy to help, there shall be no harming our citizens outside of training… and three: You two must come by yourselves, no other guests allowed. A monster will escort you to the training area."
"Question." Weiss spoke up.
"Yes?"
"What about my kid there?" She asked, referring to Azure.
"Kid? Hmm, I was for certain humans only give birth to actual humans and not giving birth to creatures." Bookwyrm said, causing Weiss to blush immensely, causing Blake to snicker at this.
"No no no no! You don't understand! He just hatched out of an egg and-"
"You don't need to explain anything, I won't judge." Bookwyrm said, causing Weiss' face to get even redder while Blake was starting to laugh.
"It's not funny, Blake!" Weiss scolded.
"Your dragon is fine, he isn't a human after all."
"What about our Pokemon?"
"As long as they don't cause a mess, they're fine as long as they're on your person. Now then.. To the training area!" Bookwyrm said as Weiss and Blake walked with him and leaving Neo behind, where she would turn to Marnie.
"You want to get some sherbet?"
"Sure." Marnie nodded as the two walked the opposite way together.
End BGM
"This is the training area?" Weiss asked, seeing that they were in a stadium. "This is just Bowser's baseball stadium."
"Correct! However, it's also used as a training facility for those who want to toughen up their skills but don't feel like training at Lord Bowser's castle." Bookwyrm explained. "Sometimes Lord Bowser uses it himself if he wants some peace and quiet away from the castle."
"Sounds fair." Blake nodded.
"Now then, let me take a look at what I'm dealing with here." Bookwyrm mused, taking a look at Weiss first. "Let's see, since you're known as the ice queen… the Crack line will definitely suit you. Bounce will be a good choice, along with a variety of support magic such as Heal, Squelch, Defuddle, Tingle, Zing, and buffing up your allies. There are more support magic, but those were just examples." He then looked at Blake. "Hmm, yes… I see… oooh, I know exactly what you can do."
"Hmm?"
"The Zam line, spells that can reduce enemy's stats and… Dazzle."
"Dazzle?"
"Make anyone hallucinate. In fact, along with the Crack line, we also taught Lady Neo that spell as well. Goes perfectly with that semblance of hers."
"Oh, okay." Blake nodded.
"Now then, we'll skip over the basics on how to fight considering you two are huntresses and know how to fight with your current weapons, so it'll be completely redundant. So… Lesson one! You must learn how to utilize you magic. First things first, however…" He pulled out two potions. "Here, drink these." He said, as Weiss and Blake looked at each other and with a nod, the two drank it up.
"Mmm, what was this?" Weiss asked after she finished it.
"That, my dear human, was known as a Magic Tonic. Made it myself!" He said. "The effects should kick in at any moment…"
Right on cue, the girls started to glow as a white aura surrounded Weiss and a purple aura surrounded Blake. "Whoa… why do I feel more powerful?" Weiss wondered.
"That just unlocked your MP, or magic power, if you prefer. I do recommend that you stock up on items that will give you a boost in MP." He explained. "A few items will do, but if you're one of those adventurers that tend to hoard all the items in your inventory, then by all means, go for it if that's your preference."
"Oh cool." Blake said.
"What kind of items?" Weiss asked.
"Magic Water, Sage's Elixir, I highly recommend that, and Elfin Elixir."
"Good to know."
"Now there's something else that needs to be addressed. If in case you are in a fight and you feel a wave of blue aura surrounding you, then you are pepped up. Your power doubles and you can do all sorts of neat tricks."
"Blue aura…" Weiss wondered and then flashbacked to the Beanbean Kingdom. "Wait! I just remembered Yang getting that kind of boost! …I think Luminary explained it when we met them…"
"Ah, the young firecracker got it? Hmm, I suppose the Pep Power made its way into this universe." He mused. "In any case, you get your attack power buffed up, you get defense buffed, your magic is buffed… I could go on."
"I think Ruby got it too… maybe." Blake mused.
"Now then, let us begin with utilizing magic."
Meanwhile, with Marnie and Neo…
"To this day, I still don't regret saving Bowser from those Shroobs." Marnie said, sitting across from Neo at an Ice Cream/Sherbet parlor as they were eating sherbet out of a bowl they were sharing. "I was just caught off-guard the moment he conscripted me into his army. No matter how much I protested, he didn't even hear me out." She shook her head. "Though I am surprised how supportive he was when he said he didn't mind me helping my friends out… and even then, he helped out with building me a second home here, and… at one point, got my brother to help out. I just don't get it… the guy doesn't take betrayal well so why is he so nice about it with me?"
"Well, maybe because he knows you're not much of a threat to him, so he doesn't seem to care." Neo guessed, taking a bite.
"I guess… but I got Pokemon with me, I have these claws I got from Jade… yet Bowser's understanding." Marnie shrugged. "I mean, I don't mind it… it's just surprising. Then again, he always has his soft side when he's not busy plotting anything."
Neo smiled. "That's Bowser for ya."
"Yeah…" Marnie nodded with a chuckle. "I mean, I don't really mind being part of the Koopa Troop or having a second home here… hell, I got my own ride here in the form of a motorbike, which honestly, is a lot more badass than a clown car… no offense." She said as Neo waved it off. "But in any case, I told Bowser not to expect me to help out on kidnapping Peach or fighting my friends and he was surprisingly chill with it."
"Yet you don't mind sabotaging?" Neo teased.
Marnie sighed. "It's complicated…" She said, causing Neo to giggle and patted her on the shoulder. "Mmm, it's too bad Luigi's not allowed here, I'm sure he'd have a fun time with us."
"There's always Toad Town." Neo winked.
Marnie chuckled, forming a small smile. "True that."
Back at Bowser's Stadium…
"Alright, now that you have unlocked your magic, you will need to utilize it. Now you can just throw around magic all willy nilly like a lunatic, or you can manipulate it and put your own spin to it. Now take the Luminary for example, while he doesn't normally use the Crack line, he can use it on his sword known as Kacrackle Slash. Jade and Serena, both known spear users, can use ice magic into their spears and use an ability called Crushed Ice. They all put their own spin into their magic, and you can do the same as well."
"Oh, I get what you mean." Weiss said. "Like say if, for example in some alternate timeline, Blake can use the Crack spell with her feet for like a devastating Ice Kick or use the ice on her claws."
"Precisely! …Though I'm not sure how you would use magic with your feet, but I did say put your own spin to it." He shrugged. "Now then, see what you can do with the Crack and Zam spells and we'll move on from there."
BGM: Meditative Training (Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity)
Weiss closed her eyes, feeling the magic flow through her hands as she aimed her hand up as a snowflake danced around her hand as she then blew on the snowflake where it would turn into a small flurry that covered a few Slimes. A few of them shivered while another put a coat around it. Weiss would then clap her hands together and formed an icy javelin as she threw it at a wall, where it would explode on contact and shower small icicles that scattered through the small radius.
The power of darkness flowed through Blake's legs as she rushed at a Grim Gryphon and delivered a few Zam Kicks to him, as the Gryphon felt the dark electric bolts hit him with each attack. "Mmmph! Argh!"
"You okay?" Blake asked.
"Believe it or not, this is nothing compared to what Luminary put us through!" The Gryphon smirked as Blake nodded and then summoned her Belladonna Claws, as the darkness flowed through it as she quickly did a few slashes at him, the dark electric bolts hitting him but was staying strong.
Weiss, meanwhile, encased Eiskönigin entirely in ice as she delivered swift swings as icicles were launched out as she slammed it into the ground as ice spikes shot out of the ground diagonally. She would then conjured up a block of ice and tossed it up in the air as she sliced the block a few times before she pushed her hand forward as the small sharp icicles were launched, pinning a few Slimes into the wall, none of them skewering any of them.
"Hmm, not bad… and to think this is just the first line of Crack and Zam…" Bookwyrm mused under his breath, now watching them using Support Magic and Blake using Dazzle on the Grim Gryphon. "Yes, this will do…" He said.
End BGM
"Alright, now that you got your magic figured out, it's time for our next lesson." Bookwyrm explained. "Now, each magic spell has its elemental advantages and disadvantages, such as… well, if you use your ice magic on something like, a fire user… it won't do you any good. Same with using ice on ice users. It's just redundant… won't do you any good. Using the dark magic is great, but if you use them on demons, then they'll resist the dark magic." Bookwyrm then chuckled. "You're going to get creative on this once, because this lesson will have you face some monsters that will put your magic at a disadvantage!" He said as a Bongo Fandango and a Shadeshifter came over. "See what you can do with this!"
BGM: Unflinchable Courage (Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age)
The Bongo Fandango and the Shadeshifter both attacked Weiss and Blake, but the duo would swing their weapons at the two and used their magic… and just like Bookwyrm said, they simply shrugged off their respective magic that they resisted. Weiss took a step back and formed an ice ball as she threw it at the Shadeshifter, causing it to yelp while Blake jumped over and used a Zam Kick on the Bongo Fandango, causing it to yelp as well.
The Shadeshifter would throw a ball of darkness at Blake, but she used her semblance to avoid the attack while Weiss jumped back at the Bongo Fandango's attack as they both threw their magic at the opposite monsters, knocking them down in defeat. "Yes, you got it figured out!" Bookwyrm praised as a Chihuawyrm and a Tap Devil came in next and they attacked the girls, but Weiss and Blake took a step back as Weiss would use Buff on her and Blake to buff up their defense and Oomph on each other to raise up their attack power. Blake, meanwhile, cast Sap on the monsters to lower their defense and then Blunt right after to lower their attacks.
As the monsters attacked, Weiss threw a wave of ice at the Tap Devil while Blake unleashed a Zam attack with her claws on the Chihuawyrm, knocking them both to the ground in defeat. "Yes! Now you're getting the hang of it!" Bookwyrm exclaimed. "Now for our next lesson!" He said as the monsters moved away as a Metal Slime hopped over. "Now use your magic on this Metal Slime!"
"You got it!" Weiss said, forming a javelin and throwing it at the Metal Slime, but it just bounced off and landed near Weiss. "Huh?" She wondered as Blake formed a ball of darkness in her hands and unleashed Zam on the Metal Slime, but it simply bounced off as well.
"Wha…?"
"Lesson three: There are some monsters who are completely immune to magic… like the Metal Slime for example!" He said. "You're just gonna have to attack them normally."
"Clever…" Weiss said as she rushed over at the Metal Slime and slashed at it, but her attacks would bounce off as would Blake's attacks as well.
"Forgot to mention the Metal Slime is hard to hit, unless you got an attack that can pierce through that thick armor like Metal Slash."
"Nyeeeeh!" The Metal Slime taunted and then ran away while giggling.
Pause BGM
"Aww… we didn't take him down…" Weiss pouted.
"Don't fret. The goal was for you to realize that magic will not always work on your enemies. I would have been surprised if you were able to knock him out." He said. "Now then, for the fourth lesson… you ought to conserve and regain your magic. While weaker magic doesn't use too much MP, advanced spells requires more MP to be used… like say, Kacrackle or Kazammle."
"Does that require more concentration?"
"Exactly. The more powerful spell, the more concentration you need." Bookwyrm said, tossing them a few Sages Elixir. "Here, use these. For this lesson, you will face three rounds of enemies using a limited supply of MP… oh, and to make this interesting, no healing magic. If one of you are knocked out, we will try again. I have a lot of Elixirs, so use all that you wish should you fail."
Blake's ears lowered a bit. "Oh… okay."
"If it helps, Lady Neo had a little bit of difficulty on this as well, so don't feel bad. It does take a while to master this particular lesson."
"I can see why Neo recommended us to you." Weiss said.
"Indeed… now then, let us begin this lesson!" Bookwyrm declared as two Walking Corpses and two Toxic Zombies approached them.
Eugh… Weiss groaned. These are monsters Rotty could love…
Resume Unflinchable Courage BGM
Weiss closed her eyes, feeling the magic going through her hands, feeling her hands getting colder as they turned icy blue. "HAH!" She yelled, raising her arms up in the air as she formed a massive snowflake and threw her arms down as the snowflake came crashing down and formed a misty explosion that covered the four zombies.
"What was that?" Blake asked.
"That was Crackle… I think! It could've been Kacrack."
"Well, in that case…" Blake's legs crackled with darkness as she rushed over and delivered some powerful Dark Kicks and even a flip kick to knock a Toxic Zombie back. She then transferred the darkness to her hands as she slammed her hands on the ground as a wave of dark energy shot out and struck the zombies. A Toxic Zombie would unleash a toxic mist that enveloped Weiss and Blake for a few seconds.
"Nnngh! What is this?!" Weiss winced.
"I feel my magic draining…" Blake groaned as the mist disappeared.
"Mmm… that's a problem." Weiss said as she moved her hands forward and fired a small flurry that would be enough to strike down the four zombies.
"Very good. Now the next wave!" Bookwyrm said as a Mimic and a Pandora's Box approached them. "Now usually the Pandora's Boxes tends to use the Whack line of spells… but I requested them not to use it on you two."
"That's comforting…" Weiss sweatdropped as she readied Myrtenaster, encasing it in ice and thrusting it forward, delivering waves of ice on the Mimic as it lunged forward and tried to chomp down on her, but she avoided the attack and then started to stab the Mimic. The Pandora's Box lunged at Blake and chomped down, but she used her semblance to avoid it and then pulled out Gambol Shroud and fired dark bolts of lightning at it to make it flinch.
Both girls would then deliver a powerful Kacrack and Kazam spell to knock out the two Mimics. "Good… good. Now let's hope you have enough MP because magic is the way to quickly take these guys out!" He said, as a Snooty Slime Knight, a Golden Globe and a Brollympian stepped up.
"Then let's do this!" Weiss said as they would attempt to use their magic… but nothing came out. "…Uh oh."
"Well… crap." Blake sweatdropped.
End BGM
Bookwyrm let out a hearty chuckle. "That's about where Lady Neo failed her first time too. Alright, let's reset." He said as the rarer monsters hopped away while the Zombies approached them again while Bookwyrm gave them two Elfin Elixirs.
"Now we know what not to do." Blake said.
"Yeah… this might take a while." Weiss agreed.
Many many MANY attempts later…
Weiss and Blake quickly avoided the last wave's attacks. "Time to finish you off!" Weiss said, closing her eyes as her entire body turned icy blue as her eyes glowed white as a light mist came out of the corners of the eyes while Blake's eyes glowed dark purple while dark electricity shot out of the corners of her eyes. The dark magic crackled throughout her body. Weiss slammed her hands on the ground as massive ice pillars shot out of the ground and caused the monsters to fly up in the air as Blake would put her hands together and shot out a massive purple lightning bolt from her hands, causing a massive purple shockwave once it hit the ice pillar and knocked around the monsters as they fell to the ground in defeat.
"Yeah!" Weiss cheered once her body turned to normal. "How do you like our Kacrackle and Kazammle!" She exclaimed, high fiving Blake.
Bookwyrm let out a chuckle. "Now that is more like it! I wonder how Marnie and Lady Neo are doing…"
With the other girls…
"Aaaah…" Marnie leaned her back on a crater as she and Neo were relaxing in a lava spring. "I'm so glad Kamek put a spell on us to make us completely immune to lava…"
"You said it." Neo smiled.
Marnie giggled. "It's just like a regular hot spring…" She said, leaning her head onto Neo's shoulder as Neo rested her head on hers. Soon, Marnie would flip around and rested her arms outside of the lava spring, resting her head on the crater as Neo would start to give her a shoulder and back massage. "Oooh… right there… I've been feeling a bit tight back there lately…" She said, letting out a relaxed sigh and smiling.
Goodness, her smile is so adorable. Neo thought with a giggle.
Aaah… her giggle is so cute. Marnie thought.
Back with Monochrome…
"And that concludes lesson five: Fighting an elemental resistance changer." Bookwyrm said as Weiss and Blake looked a bit exhausted but with another elixir, they were back to normal as a female Liege Lizard walked away with a satsified look on her face. "Thank you so much, Serpentina."
"You're welcome." She said, as the girls would see bows on her tails.
"Cute." Weiss chuckled. "Still, I never thought there would be someone with changing their elemental resistance on the fly."
"Tell me about it…" Blake agreed.
"Now then, for the sixth lesson… Weiss, buff up you and your friend with your support magic."
"Okay." Weiss nodded as she would start to do so… when suddenly she felt a wave of blue aura surrounding her. "Waaaah! What the…?"
"Oooh, that's perfect. You just got pepped up!" Bookwyrm said.
"Ooooh, nice!" Weiss grinned as she would give Blake and herself a variety of Buffs such as Kabuff, Insulatle Oomph, Acceleratle, and just when she was about to use Snub… Bookwyrm waved his hand and used a Disruptive Wave attack, completely getting rid of all the buffs she and Blake gained, and Weiss's pep status went away. "Huh?!"
"Lesson Six: There are enemies out there that will get rid of the buffs you've worked hard on and it will also get rid of your Pep, such as my Disruptor Wave, for example."
"Oh…"
"So make sure you don't get too comfortable for there may be an enemy where will get rid of all your buffs. Best to be prepared."
"Got it." Weiss nodded. "Sorry Blake…"
"Oh no, it's fine."
"Now, for the seventh lesson. This one is a big one… I'm assuming you're aware of Bounce?"
"That reflecting spell? Yeah, Luminary does it all the time when he's going against someone with projectiles." Weiss said.
"Indeed. It works well against projectiles. I only brought this up just in the off chance that Adam happens to have Bounce on him. Knowing him and how he roughed you two up, I'm imagining that he does." He said as Weiss stiffened a bit, looking down at her scars and took a deep breath to calm herself as Bookwyrm called over a Wrecktor who used Bounce on his own. "Now then… what will you do about this one?" He asked as both girls looked at each other and with a nod, Weiss encased Eiskönigin in ice and Blake coated her Claws in dark magic as the two of them rushed over and slashed at the Wrecktor with magic-filled melee attacks that knocked the Wrecktor down.
"Good! Magical melee attacks will do the trick." Bookwyrm chuckled. "Now then… for your final lesson." He said as a Great Dragon landed near the girls and let out a roar. "Lesson eight! Put everything you learned into fruition against… Serpentina!" He said, as the Great Dragon looked at him in surprise. "Sorry, but I think she'd be a better pick for this one."
The Great Dragon let out a pout and sadly walked away while the same Liege Lizard walked over, patting him on the shoulder. "You'll get your chance." She said and then approached the girls. "Alright, let's get this going."
Blake turned to Weiss. "You ready?"
Weiss caught two Elfin Elixirs and gave one to Blake, where she drank it down along with Blake. "Ready!" She said as they got in a fighting stance against the Liege Lizard.
"Show us how much you've learned." Serpentina said with a chuckle.
BGM: Battle Arena, Octagonia (Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age)
Master of the Elements - Serpentina
Weiss immediately used a Kabuff spell on the two as they rushed at the Liege Lizard as she attempted to whack them with her tails, but they jumped over the tails as Weiss unleashed a Kacrack spell where she threw a few massive snowflakes between her fingers and throwing them at Serpentina, hitting her on the chest as Serpentina let out a growl and then held up her orb she was holding, where it changed to icy blue as she let out an icy breath attack on Weiss, forcing her to dodge the attack as Blake ran over and delivered a few Zammle Kicks, striking Serpentina on the jaw and chest.
Serpentina would attempt to claw at Blake, but she backflipped right as her orb turned dark as her breath attack was now dark energy, but Weiss cast Bounce on Blake as a thin reflective ice mirror surrounded Blake as it bounced back and struck the Liege Lizard. Blake would then cast Kasap on her, and then used Dazzle to make her hallucinate. "Mmmph! Wha…?" She wondered, seeing several figures of Weiss and Blake as she tried to breathe dark energy on a Blake, but she didn't hit the right one.
Weiss smirked and then ran over, delivering several blows with Eiskönigin before switching to her Schnee Orbitars where she activated Crackle, as her Orbitars now fired ice lasers that struck the Liege Lizard. Serpentina would snap out of it and then switched her orb to icy blue, quickly breathing ice at Weiss but she cast Bounce on herself as the ice breath was reflected back where Blake brought out her Shadow Whip and transferred her magic into it as she delivered a Zammle Lashing that delivered quick dark energy blasts from the tip of her whip, striking her with several lashings.
Serpentina roared and then her orb switched to purple as she breathed dark energy again, where luckily Bounce was still active as Blake would flick her whip to shut Serpentina's mouth closed. "Weiss! Now!"
Weiss's skin turned blue and her eyes started to glow as she positioned herself, reading Eiskönigin as she raised it high into the air and swinging it down on the ground as a crystallized ice sculpture of Team RWBY popped out of the ground before it exploded into ice crystals and struck Serpentina as she let out a roar before falling to the ground in defeat.
End BGM
"Well done! Well done, humans!" Bookwyrm praised. "This completes all the lessons that I was able to teach you. Well done!" He said and then turned to Serpentina. "You alright?"
"I will be… just give me a few minutes…" She groaned while raising her arm.
"She'll be fine." He said as Weiss's skin turned to normal as she turned to Blake and high fived each other before resorting to embracing one another.
"Now then, just because the lessons are over does not mean training is over. There might still be a few techniques and abilities you haven't thought of yet."
"Right." Weiss nodded.
"Now, you can continue your training now or set up an appointment for another time. What would you like to do?"
Blake turned to Weiss. "What do you think… train a little more?"
"Yeah! Let's do a little more!" Weiss said.
Bookwyrm let out a chuckle. "On a magic high, are we? Lady Neo was the same way… bless her heart!" He chuckled. "Very well, let's continue your training."
With the other girls…
Marnie sat down on the porch swing in her backyard with Neo sitting next to her, both of them drinking a smoothie as they looked at the sky together. "As much as it felt so sudden to own a second home here near Bowser's Castle… I have to say, it's actually quite nice." Marnie said. "Where else do you get gorgeous sunsets in a lava land like this?"
"Yeah… well, if you don't mind the constant volcanoes erupting and blocking the sunset." Neo signed, noticing a volcano in the distance erupting.
"Eh, it's all good." Marnie chuckled as Neo leaned her head on her shoulder as they both looked at the sky. "I wonder if I can convince the guys to allow Luigi here. The three of us could have a little barbecue here."
Neo nodded. "That'd be great!"
"Yeah, it sure would." Marnie chuckled.
Later, with Monochrome…
"Phew… I'm worn out after all that." Weiss said.
"Agreed." Blake yawned.
Bookwyrm chuckled. "You definitely gave it your all." He said. "I suggest you go home and rest up… make an appointment if you want to come back."
"Got it." Weiss nodded.
"Oh, make sure you go to the item shop on your way out? Stock up on a lot of MP Restoring items."
"Yeah, we were planning on it." Weiss chuckled and then had an idea. "Oh! I got a name for your community. Monster Town!"
Bookwyrm laughed. "Nah, that's a bit generic… we'll think of one someday." He said, and with a nod, the duo headed back to the entrance where Azure was sleeping soundly. "Mmm, I suppose some humans outside of the Koopa Troop aren't so bad after all…" He said with a chuckle as the girls hopped on Azure and flew off, both of them unaware being spotted by Bowser who was looking through binoculars at his castle.
"What are those teenagers doing here?" He wondered. "I haven't captured Peach yet!" He said and raised an eyebrow. "Mmm… eh, it's probably nothing." He said as he turned away and walked off, completely unaware that the girls were learning magic.
So today I learned that despite my best efforts to find it, Dragon Quest does not have a weakness/resistance chart unlike other RPGS like Final Fantasy and Pokemon, so Drei had to go and make another DQ OC to compensate for it, AKA Serpentina the female Liege Lizard.
I didn't even know there wasn't such a chart. Learning the hard way. Yay... ah well, it's not all bad.
