A few weeks later, while Joe was back in the Zone with the rest of the Mystics Without Borders. As they looked around for which lost souls to help someone in the zone caught Joe's eye. In a spot in the air, was the soul of a woman.

She seemed to have short, really curly hair, and was making a clay pot at a special table.

"Huh." Joe said quietly.

"Something wrong, Joe?" asked Windstar.

"What, no nothing's wrong."

He looked back up, and saw that the woman was gone.

"She must've been snapped out of it." thought Joe.

Back on Earth, that woman had just got up from her pottery table. She had dark skin, short black hair that was in corkscrew curls, and brown eyes. She was wearing a mid-length sleeves purple shirt, blue jeans, and brown sneakers.

She also had on a white apron, a black headband, silver earrings, and a black bracelet. This woman was named Annie Carter, and she lived in Brooklyn, New York.

"There we go, another pot finished." she told herself.

Annie took the pot, and then put it in her oven for glazing.

The next day, she woke up got dressed, had breakfast, and got dressed for work. She put on a white short sleeved blouse, long black skirt, and black flats. While Annie liked making pottery, she had a day job as a receptionist at a law firm.

She hopped in her car, and drove down the road. Through the hustle and bustle of the morning New York traffic, Annie made her way to her job. After a while, she got to the building. Annie found a parking spot, and went inside.

Inside, many people in business suits or business attire were walking around ready to start their day. Annie happily said good morning to people she knew, and they greeted her back. Then she came to her station, and sat down.

As she started working, she heard a happy voice say,

"Hey, Annie."

Annie looked up, and saw a woman with light skin, wavy brown hair, and blue eyes. She was wearing a long sleeved pink blouse, white pants, and brown heels.

This woman was Brittany, her co-worker and best friend.

"Hey, Brittany what's up girl?"

"Good. Ready for another day of work."

She sat at her station, and the two got to work.

The two made calls, took messages, met with people, and around noon it was time for their lunch break. The two women left the building, and went to a nice little bistro for lunch.

"So anything new, Annie?" Brittany asked.

"There's going to be a craft fair in Washing Square Park next week, and I'm going to set up a booth." Annie explained.

"That sounds nice, need any help?"

"Thanks, I could use an assistant."

"Then I'll be there."

The two ate their lunch, and then went back to work. For the rest of the day, Annie continued her work, and then when it was quitting time.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Britt." Annie told her friend.

"Bye, Annie." said Brittany.

And the two went their separate ways.

Annie drove away from the building, but instead of going home she went to her parents' house. She had been invited to dinner, and was looking forward to seeing them. After a while of driving, she arrived in the suburbs part of Brooklyn.

She pulled into her parents' driveway, and went up to the door. After ringing the doorbell, it opened and a curvy late middle aged black woman with curly black yet slightly graying hair, brown eyes, and she wore a yellow dress with dark blue polka dots, and brown slip ons.

"Annie, you're here." she said happily.

This woman was Annie's mother, Tia Carter.

"Hi, Mama." Annie greeted.

The two hugged, and Tia invited her in.

Inside the house, Annie helped her mom get ready for dinner. They set the table, and cooked up some sides.

"Any idea what Dad's bringing home?" Annie wanted to know.

"I'm not sure, but you know how your father likes to surprise us." Tia replied.

Just like that, the door opened. A man with dark skin, graying hair, brown eyes, and he was wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers. He was also holding a paper wrapped object. This was Annie's father and Tia's husband Harold Carter.

"Ladies, I'm home." he announced.

"Hi, Dad."

"Hey, honey."

The two ladies went over and hugged him.

"How was work?" asked Annie.

"Oh work went well. And look what I brought back." Harold said.

He went over to the counter, set down the object, and unwrapped it. Then he revealed some lamp chops.

"You managed to get lamb?" Tia observed.

"That's right." Harold replied.

Harold worked as a butcher, and often brought home the meat for dinner. Tia and Annie started to cook it up, while Harold went to take a quick shower.

Soon the three were sitting down at the table eating a tasty dinner of lamb chops, broccoli, and rice.

"So Annie, how're things going?" Harold asked her.

"Oh, things are going fine at work. And I'm gonna be selling some pottery pieces at the craft fair next week."

"That's nice, sweetie. My little artist." complimented Tia.

"How's work going for you, Mama?" Tia worked as a chef in a nice restaurant.

"Work's going good. The restaurant's still getting good business."

After having some cake for dessert, some talking, and a couple rounds of uno, Annie went back home. She hugged and kissed her parents goodbye, and drove back to her apartment.
