A Few Hours After Beating Lemmy in Vanilla Dome…

Everyone had fallen asleep after a good day's worth of adventuring and clobbering Lemmy… all except for Nyx. She was keeping watch. She was listening to some crickets chirping, she watched some Cheep Cheeps breach out of the water. A few Swoops flew by overhead without a care in the world.

Nyx looked down at the fire, watching it dance before her, crackling throughout the night. She put some kindling into the fire to keep everyone warm as they slept. She watched a few sparks float up into the air before disappearing. She took a deep breath and looked up at the starry sky… flashing back to her childhood in Gusty Gulch… before those two showed up.

Years ago…

A young Nyx walked around Gusty Gulch, happily humming to herself. It was then that a Boo popped up in front of her and let out a cackle. "Wah! Oh, got me good there, Mr. Boo!" She said with a cheerful smile. "You're the best kind of scary Boo unlike the rest of your friends!"

"Aww…" The Boo blushed, rubbing the back of his head.

"I'll come play with you later. I'm gonna have some lunch!" She smiled and skipped off while the Boo waved goodbye to her before floating away.

Nyx walked into her house and saw her parents chatting. "Hiya~!"

Her mother, who had wavy long silver hair, chocolate brown eyes and was wearing a dress looked down and smiled at her. Her father, who had short brown hair, a goatee and also having chocolate brown eyes while wearing a white shirt and khakis, smiled at her as well.

"Hey there sweetie!" Her mother smiled. "You ready for some lunch?"

"Yes please~!" Nyx cheerfully smiled, happily helping herself to a grilled cheese sandwich when there was a knock on the door.

"Hmm?" Her father wondered. "I wonder who that could be?" He walked toward the front door and opened it up… revealing none other than the Wario Bros themselves. "Oh, hello gentlemen. What can I do for you?"

Wario smirked. "We want your house."

"Huh? Why do you want our house? You two aren't tax collectors, are you?"

"No, of course not! This shoddy old home needs a tune up!" Waluigi said. "We need you out of here."

"And why, would I let you remodel my home without my permission? I'm not letting you relocate my family and that's final." He said.

"Ah, we were thinking you would say that." Wario said.

"Alright, we'll cut you a deal." Waluigi spoke up. "We'll play a game. If you win, we'll leave. If you lose, you leave. Forever."

The father let out a chuckle. "I like those odds, because I don't intend on losing."

"Honey, are you sure this is a good idea?" The mother asked.

"Of course." The father grinned. "These fine gentlemen want to play a game… so let's play a game then."

"Go daddy go!" Nyx cheered.

"Name your game." The father requested.

Waluigi smirked, pulling out a few cards. "Poker."

The father smirked. "Heh, wrong move. I tend to be great at Poker."

"Heheh, read 'em and weep, boys!"

"Ack!" A Boo yelped.

"I knew I should've folded when I had the chance…" A Clubba grumbled.

"Ai yai yai…" A Spike sighed.

"Well now… then this should be right up your alley." Waluigi smirked. "Let's play."

The father chuckled. "Yes, let's play."

One round of Poker later…

"I have to say, you are quite the adversary." Waluigi admitted, having a chocolate cigar in his mouth.

"You were quite the opponent. But, in the end, I'm keeping the house."

Waluigi smirked. "Ah, but Mr. Shadow… you think you've won so easily?"

"Where are you getting at this?"

"I believe that, in the end… the house is ours." Waluigi said, showing his deck.

"A ROYAL FLUSH?!" The parents yelled.

"Wahahahaha!" Wario laughed.

"But that can't be right!" The mother protested. "You didn't even have those cards to begin with!"

"It's called strategy, my good woman." Waluigi said.

"It's called rigged from the start! You cheated!"

"It's only cheating if you get caught." Waluigi stood up, taking a bite out of the cigar and smirked at her. "Now, Mrs. Shadow… did you see me cheat?"

"I… well… no…"

"Then it was won legitimately."

"No no NO!" Nyx protested. "You big bullies! You cheated! We keep our house!"

"Little lady, I suggest you keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you." Wario scolded as the young Nyx, causing her to shoot him a hurtful glare.

"Daddy… please, play him again!"

"No… he's won. Cheating or no cheating… the house is his." He said solemnly. "Mr. Waluigi… you and Wario are the owners of this home now."

"Pack your bags. You're out of here." Wario said.

BGM: Sad Girl (Super Mario Galaxy)

Nyx started tearing up. "No! I won't let you!" She said as she tried to shove the obese plumber. "You! Out of our house! You're not going to… take our house!" She said, sobbing while doing so, only for Wario to push her aside, which was enough to knock Nyx on her butt.

A gentle hand touched Nyx's shoulder, as she looked up to see her tearful mother and hugged her gently. "I'm so sorry Nyx… we have to leave…" She said, trying to compose herself as they packed the essentials and walked out, despite Nyx's protests.

"Here's the deed to the house. Take it what you will." The father said, glaring at Waluigi as the skinny plumber took it.

"Thank you very much!" Waluigi said as the three walked out. The three would see a bunch of saddened Boos, knowing full well what was going on as the three walked straight for Forever Forest.

"Honey… did he actually win?"

"No… I know very well he cheated… but there's nothing we can do about it now." He whispered.

"Daddy…" Nyx whispered, closing her eyes and continued to cry… all the while they heard laughing and explosions in the distance. "No… our home!" She exclaimed, trying to run back but her mother took her arm.

"It's too late…" She whispered as Nyx hung her head down in defeat as she knelt down and hugged her sobbing child.

Back in the present…

A tear ran down Nyx's cheek. "I'm… never forgiving them…" She whispered, wiping her tear as more came down her cheeks as she started to softly sob to herself.

"Nyx…? You alright?"

Nyx opened her eyes, seeing Sarge having woken up from her crying. "Yeah… I'm all right…" She lied.

Sarge got up, and then walked over to sit down next to her on the log. "You don't sound fine to me. You can tell me anything. I can keep a secret."

"Y-you can?"

"I may not look it, but I'd be willing to put my life on the line just to protect secrets!"

Nyx chuckled sadly. "Just… don't tell anyone until I'm ready to say anything."

"My lips are sealed."

Nyx looked back at the starry sky. "It began on any other day at Gusty Gulch… living a carefree life and having a lot of Boos for friends. And that's when they showed up…"

"Who were they?"

"They call themselves Wario and Waluigi…"

Nyx isn't getting revenge on Wario over ruining her favorite show. She ain't that petty. No no, she's getting revenge on the Wario Bros over what they did in her childhood. It was actually explained in Super RWBY World. Chapter 9, to be exact.
