While Adam and Seryu Are Fighting the Glavenus
"I understand that you are upset… believe me, I've had my fair share of that. But like I said, would she want to see her brother lashing out in anger because of something beyond her control? What would you say to her, if you had the chance to meet her again? Would she look at you with love… or would she look at you with sadness and disappointment that her brother had turned into someone that he isn't?"
"No… no she wouldn't… are you for certain that you were not the one who left her to die?"
"If I was with her, I would have saved her."
"Don't listen to his lies, Hazel. He is just manipulating you to think differently."
"Oh, like you manipulated everyone else?"
"Ozma, Ozma, Ozma… you let our children die you decided to leave. Their blood is on your hands… everyone's blood is on your hands. Gretchen is the same way. Your silver tongue will not on dear Hazel."
"Ahahaha…" Dimentio chuckled, magic conjuring in his hands. "Good times." He said as he looked around his fellow minions. Dry Bowser was working on his magic while also bossing around several Dry Bone soldiers, Ghirahim was muttering something about Ganondorf, Medusa was hard at work teaching Grimm Ruby how to properly control and make Grimm of her own.
He hated to admit it… but he was bored. Surely, he ought to stretch his legs… and besides, he missed out on the fun when a castle flew overhead. He could've sworn it looked like Peach's castle.
"Hmm…" Dimentio sat up, a thought crossed his mind. Surely, no one in this universe knows who he is… so why not go have some fun? He could go ahead and mess with Salem, calling her uglier than her paper self…
But his mind went to Hazel, thinking of how Ozpin talked it out with him in his own universe. He let out a smirk… it was time for some fun!
But first, he needed to figure out where Beacon is at, just in case if he accidentally makes a wrong turn. He went off and teleported away.
At Beacon…
"Team SPBRR… and Blake is part of that crew?" Ozpin asked.
"Pretty much!" Ruby nodded.
"Hmm, well, I don't see anything wrong with that. Samus is a well respected bounty huntress, so I'm sure she'll take good care of Blake. Although… I can't help but feel concerned."
"What's wrong?"
"I've heard that Miss Aran has a habit of blowing planets up… and I can't help but shake the feeling Samus might teach Blake a few of her tricks, including blowing up a planet. The last thing we need is a Bounty Hunting Faunus blowing up Remnant with Samus taking the lead."
"…I think you had too much coffee."
"Hmm, perhaps." Ozpin chuckled as he walked off, both unaware of Dimentio popping up above them.
"Ah, here we are… Beacon Academy!" He said and then looked down. "Ah, Ozpin!" He smirked and then turned his head, spotting Ruby. "Oh hello there… your paper self is quite cuter compared to your 3D self." He said and then rubbed his chin in thought. "Unfortunately, I don't think the Shadow Queen exists in this universe… nor do I have a spare Chaos Heart at hand so I can easily manipulate her and happily watch the world burn… but, I'm sure I'll think of something to make her just like Chaos Ruby."
He turned his back to her… before sporting a grin. "Oh, why not have a little fun?" He smirked, snapping his fingers as a magical field surrounded Ruby and teleported her… to the top of Beacon Tower.
"WHOA!" Ruby yelled, nearly falling. "How did I get up here?!" She wondered as she looked around, making sure no one was pranking her. "Aaagh! Great… now how am I gonna get down?" She then had an idea and reached into her pocket… and felt nothing. "Ack! Where's my scroll?!"
"Mhmhmhm~" Dimentio was nearby, holding Ruby's scroll. "I'm sure you won't be needing this." He said, snapping his fingers as it teleported to a random bench, and right on cue, Pit started calling her.
"Oooh… fine, guess I'll do it the old fashioned way." Ruby sighed. "HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!"
"Ahahaha… there, got that out of my system." Dimentio said. "Now then… to go find that big tough guy." He smirked and teleported away.
Hazel was seen clobbering a punching bag, dealing swift blows to the bag. He was unaware of Dimentio popping in.
"Ah, I was wondering if I popped into the right room."
Hazel turned around to see Dimentio. "Who are you?"
"Me? I'm the master of dimensions, pleaser of all crowds, crosser of universes and making young huntresses go wild, I am... Dimentio! Remember the name well."
"Dimentio...?" Hazel wondered, before suddenly getting hit with sudden flashbacks, recalling seeing him and a strange void, not to mention working with Ozpin. "Mmph!"
"Something the matter, big guy?"
"I don't know why, but seeing you gave me a wave of flashbacks that I've never experienced before, and yet..."
"Interesting, I'm familiar to the witch and I gave you flashbacks. Could it be that my actions in my own universe has had a ripple effect in this universe? The 3D counterparts that I've met with feel waves of nostalgia... how fascinating! I wonder what'll happen if I were to meet the young Red... will she feel the waves of Chaos Ruby? Ahahaha, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it!"
"Tell me, jester... what is your purpose of this visit? Why am I getting flashbacks of talking to Ozpin? And why is my body flat as paper?"
"I'll tell you all about it, but right now, I wish to stick it to the ugly cow from the tower... oh wait, that's an insult to cows. Ah well." Dimentio snapped his fingers as a wave of magic went through Hazel.
"What the..."
"And now, we begin our journey!" Dimentio smiled, snapping his fingers.
Ozpin looked over the campus in his office. "...Why do I hear a young bird calling for help?" Ozpin wondered, unaware of Hazel and Dimentio teleporting in.
"Mmph!" Hazel grunted a bit and then saw Ozpin in front of him. "Ozpin..." He whispered before a deep growl escaped his throat.
"Hang on a moment." Dimentio whispered and then walked over to the desk. "Oh yoo-hoo! Old man~!"
"Hmm?" Ozpin turned around, seeing Dimentio. "Who are-" He suddenly grunted, hanging on to his head, getting flashbacks. "What did... you do, Dimentio..."
"Oh nothing, I just seem to have that effect on people. I guess you can call it my semblance." Dimentio chuckled. "But, I believe it's time you get reacquainted with an old friend."
"What do you-"
"OZPIN!"
Ozpin flinched, knowing exactly who that belonged to. "Oh no..."
"Now if you'll excuse me..." Dimentio conjured up a red cape and waved it in front of Hazel as he let out a loud scream and charged at Ozpin, as Dimentio pulled away the cape. "Ole!"
BGM: Face It! (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories)
Hazel broke through the desk while Ozpin jumped to the side, as Hazel turned to him, suddenly pulling out dust crystals and impaling his arms, getting a boost of adrenaline. "RAAAAAH!"
"Oh, that's new!" Dimentio said, summoning a bag of popcorn.
"Hazel, let's just talk things out!"
"You are going to pay... for everything that you have done! Especially Gretchen!" Hazel yelled, charging at Ozpin, forcing him to jump back.
Ozpin reached into his pocket, pulling out a Fire Flower and absorbing it where his suit coat turned red and white as his cane caught ablaze while Hazel charged at him, punching him but Ozpin blocked with his cane.
"I know Gretchen's death was tragic, but it was her own decision to go on that mission!"
"BUT YOU DIDN'T STOP HER!" Hazel yelled, slamming his fists on the ground to create shockwaves, making the whole tower rumble while Ozpin attempted to dodge the shockwaves.
"You don't think I tried that? I was suggesting she went on an easier mission, but she insisted on doing that mission instead! Yes, I could have stopped her, in fact, I should have, but I had hoped that she would have requested back up!"
"Her blood is on your hands!"
"I am well aware of that, and I regret sending her on that mission, but killing me will not bring Gretchen back!"
"Maybe not, but it will bring her peace if I kill you over... AND OVER AGAIN!" Hazel roared, throwing his fists to try and hit the professor.
"Goodness me, this is far better than boxing and MMA!" Dimentio said. "Heck, this is better than cable!" He happily munched on the popcorn.
Hazel kept swinging as Ozpin attempted to keep him at bay by defending himself, throwing a few fireballs and lighting the ground on fire to try and deter him, but Hazel rushed through a fire wall and lunged at Ozpin, slamming his fists into him but he had dodged, where a shockwave rushed through the room and slammed into the window, shattering the glass.
Ozpin let out an annoyed grunt, seeing that his window had been shattered yet again. "Hazel, I believe it is time for you to calm down. Your anger will not bring Gretchen back."
"You don't think I don't know that!" Hazel yelled, swinging at him violently as Ozpin would dodge these attacks, backing up to the open window as he would find himself cornered as Hazel grabbed him by the throat. "I am well aware that this will not be the last body you inhabit... but I will do everything I can to make sure your death will be a painful one!"
"Would Gretchen have wanted this, to see you kill someone that was both of out of our control?"
"SILENCE!" Hazel snarled, hoisting Ozpin up in the air and dangling him over the window.
"Oh dear, it seems I have to step in..." Dimentio said.
It seems I have no other choice. Ozpin thought, closing his eyes as a green aura of energy surrounded him.
"Farewell..."
End BGM
"ENOUGH!" Ozpin yelled, as suddenly he was surrounded by magic, the green energy was enough to burn Hazel's hand, forcing him to let go as Ozpin levitated there, magic coursing through his veins.
"Oooor maybe not!" Dimentio mused, seeming intrigued by this as Ozpin snapped his fingers as Hazel found himself wrapped up with magic coming out of the ground and ensnaring his body.
"Rrrgh!"
Ozpin then floated down to the ground, waving his hand and telekinetically removing the Dust Crystals off of his arms, seeming to snap Hazel out of his power drunken stupor.
"Listen to me very carefully, whatever Salem had put into your brain, it ends here." Ozpin said. "Yes, I am at fault for sending Gretchen away on that mission, but it was her choice and she insisted on going. Had I known that mission would have done her in, I would've gone with her. I regret not stopping her sooner."
Ozpin put his hands on his cane. "I know that you loved her dearly, and I do not blame you for hating me... but what would Gretchen say if she were here right now, seeing you attempt to kill me? I may not know you, but I can tell in that angry demeanor that you are a kind soul mislead by Salem."
"...Salem had told me that Gretchen's death was your fault... and I believed her."
"I have to say... manipulation is more than likely her true semblance." Dimentio said, casually sitting on some debris that Hazel created. "Fitting for a Goomba like her."
"But you're right... Gretchen wouldn't approve of me destroying you, nor would she approve of me losing myself in my own anger." Hazel said. "I am not sure what to do."
"I believe Gretchen would want you to do the right thing." Ozpin said.
"If I do that... then Salem will come after me and put my head on a platter." Hazel pointed out. "You, of all people, know what she is like... Ozma."
"Indeed." Ozpin nodded.
"Heavens to Betsy, must I do everything?" Dimentio asked while chuckling, snapping his fingers as Hazel felt a wave of magic going through him. "There, I gave you a protective shield that will protect you from one hit kill attacks from the old hag. Of course, calling her an old hag in this dimension would be an insult to old hags."
"Do you ever run out of insults for Salem?" Hazel asked.
"Oh no, I got a whole list of 'em! She has a face only a mother could love, but in this dimension, it'd be an insult to her great grandmother." Dimentio smiled casually.
"So, Hazel... what will you do now?" Ozpin asked, dismissing the magic.
"I am not sure... because of this, I'm not sure if I can face Salem, nor could I face Watts or Tyrian."
"Oooh, is this the part where I suggest sticking it to the hag?" Dimentio grinned excitedly. "Might I suggest going to the winning side? Someone who doesn't act like the sea monkey?"
"I do not trust you, jester." Hazel said.
"Believe me, I've heard that plenty of times. No skin off my back."
"May I make a suggestion? Perhaps you should walk a different path... a path of atonement, if you will."
Hazel closed his eyes, deep in thought as he rose. "It is a start. If it means detoxing from Salem's manipulations, so be it." He said as he turned his back. "I have not forgiven you, Oz... but you have my thanks for calming me down." He said as he walked to the elevator, but stopped walking, his back still turned to Ozpin. "No more Gretchens." He said as he walked into the elevator, disappearing as soon as the doors closed.
"Well, that went absolutely positively well!" Dimentio said. "I don't guarantee his safety when Emperor Bowser makes his move, but if it means sticking it to the cow pie, then it's a win in my book. I get to have the last laugh. Ahahaha!"
"Just what are you up to, jester?"
"What, can't a pleaser of crowds have some fun in this dimension? Hmhmhmhm, ciao~!" He said as he was about to snap his fingers, but remembered something. "Oh yes, I almost forgot." He said, snapping his fingers.
"Heeeelp... ugh, my throat is sore and croaky..." Ruby groaned, and then she disappeared off the roof.
"Ruby? Ruby! Where are you?" Pit asked, wandering around the campus. "Rubes, where are you!"
"Waaah!" Ruby yelped, landing right on top of the angel.
"OOOOF!" Pit grunted, as he came to... and found him and Ruby in a compromising position, causing both to blush profusely. "Um... just dropping in...?"
"It's been a weird day..." Ruby sighed, unaware of Coco walking by and seeing this.
"Pfft, get a room, you two." Coco teased.
"Coco, it's not what it looks like!" Ruby and Pit exclaimed in unison.
"And now I am off like a small breeze in a meadow. Ciao!" Dimentio said, disappearing in front of Ozpin.
Ozpin let out a sigh, turning around and seeing his ruined office in front of him. "...Glynda is going to have a field day with this one." He said.
As he started to pick up the rubble... something came to him in his head. "Wait a minute... did my magic return to me?" He wondered as he continued to ponder this while cleaning the mess up... while also requesting Glynda to help him out.
Yay, i've finally got around to doing this Gaiden! I've been meaning to do this one for a while now... now I have. Yay!
