"This doesn't bode well…" Ozpin said. "Many of our star huntsman teams aren't here at the moment."
"Where are they at?" Glynda asked.
"If I were to wager a guess, I'd say they're far away…" Ozpin said. "If that comet I've seen in the sky is anything to go by."
"Mmm, that's going to be an issue."
"Unfortunately. On top of that, Port is on an expedition with Oobleck, Lucario and Robin."
Glynda folded her arms. "So, we're short on heavy hitters."
"Indeed." Ozpin nodded.
"To make matters worse, the latest attack on Toad Town has left a lot of people uneasy. An unknown substance called Phazon are infecting everything they touch. People, Grimm, the Koopa Troop, the Heartless... nothing is safe."
"We do have a few strong teams, however. FNKI, ABRN, BRNZ, NDGO-"
"But are they enough? Several teams here at Beacon aren't as strong as Team RWBY, JNPR, CFVY, JINX... just to name a few."
"Glynda, do you not remember team STQ putting faith in these kids? They helped them overcome their fear of Salem."
"Yes, but this is Phazon we're dealing with. No one knows what this is. As you know, the unknown is just as scary as the Grimm."
"I am well aware of that." Ozpin nodded. "I'm sure things will be-"
At that moment, the alarm started blaring.
"-all right..."
Glynda pulled up the feed. "Oh no, Vale is being attacked by Phazon-infused Grimm... and it looks like the Heartless are involved too! Considering a lot of our heavy hitters are away... it won't be long until Beacon will be overwhelmed."
"I'm sure our other teams will handle it."
"Will they be enough?" Glynda asked with a hint of worry in her voice, which was enough for Ozpin to worry, and as such, he pulled out his scroll.
"Can anyone hear me? This is Professor Ozpin requesting support. We are heavily outgunned and all our heavy hitting teams are unavailable at the moment. We need back up now! ...Anyone?"
Seconds ticked by, which felt like hours to Ozpin and Glynda, both of them waiting for a response.
"This is General Esdeath reporting in. I was actually on my way to Beacon for a visit. I'm close to your position."
"Thank you. We look forward to your visit." Ozpin said and then hung up.
"I know this is Esdeath, but can she one woman army this alone?"
"She'll be fine."
"Are you sure?"
Ozpin hesitated before looking at Glynda. "...I should make some calls."
"Good thinking."
A few novice huntsman stood firmly in front of Beacon, seeing a few Phazon-infused Nevermore fly toward them, as there were some Griffons accompanying them.
"Are we sure we can take them on?"
"I... I think we can. After all, STQ taught us a few things, so let's see if we can get through this wave!"
"But those are Nevermore!"
"I'm sure we can handle them..." One huntsman noticed a bear Faunus looking a little scared. "Together."
"...Right!"
As they prepared themselves, the Nevermore dive bombed the novice teams... until a woman landed in front of them and blasted the Nevermore with ice, freezing it solid before it shattered.
BGM: Yami o Kiru (Akame Ga Kill)
A few of the students looked on in awe when they saw Esdeath in front of them. "Is that Esdeath?!"
"I thought she had longer hair..."
Esdeath turned her head slightly. "I need you to secure the perimeter of the academy. We must not let Beacon fall. I'll handle the front."
"Right!" One of them nodded as they ran off, leaving Esdeath alone as Phazon-infused Soldier and Wyvern Heartless appeared in front of her as they were joined by Phazon-infused Griffons.
Esdeath let out a smirk, forming an ice sword. "Bring it."
A Wyvern dive bombed Esdeath, but she would proceed to backflip and then slashed at the Wyvern, cutting its wings off and then slashed through it, destroying it effortlessly as several Soldiers Phazon Kicked her but she formed an ice shield to block them before she waved her arm to shoot out icicle spears to destroy them.
A Griffon would dive bomb her and clawed her, but Esdeath backflipped again and caused a blizzard, instantly freezing the Griffons before they fell to the ground and shattered. Once she got rid of the blizzard, a Beringel had already swung its arm and slugged Esdeath in the face, sending her flying but she immediately recovered.
The Beringel pounded its chest and let out a roar as Esdeath wiped her mouth, smirking as she did a "come at me" gesture as the Beringel charged at her, his fist glowing with phazon as Esdeath infused her arm with ice as she charged at the Beringel, both of them swinging their arms and their fists connecting to their faces as both of them were knocked back.
Esdeath slammed her hands on the ground as ice stalagtites rose up but the Beringel jumped to the side, picked up a stalagtite and threw it at Esdeath, but she swiftly bent her back as the stalagtite went flying past her as the Beringel slammed its arms on the ground to form a small phazon tidal wave but Esdeath jumped over it, forming an ice halberd and swung it down on his head, but the Beringel caught it with his hands.
"Predictable." She smirked, her foot turning into ice and kicking him in the throat to make it back up before she swung the halberd to behead the giant beast.
"Anyone else?" Esdeath offered as she felt giant footsteps underneath her feet as she looked up to see a large Grimm approaching her. This particular one was lizard-like and had a pair of big strong jaws, short stubby arms and bony armored plates on his back… not to mention it had a very large imposing tail. This… was a Grimm T-Rex.
"A King Tyrant… I've heard about these dinosaurs." Esdeath mused before smirking as the King Tyrant roared in Esdeath's face. "No amount of freezing in place will stop these things." She said as she rushed ahead and slashed at the Tyrant's chest. It would respond by flicking its tail at her, which hit her and sent her sliding but she brushed it off. Yes… show me your true potential. She thought as she formed two swords in her hands as she ran ahead.
The Tyrant lunged at her, attempting to bite down but Esdeath would roll over and slashed its cheek before unleashing a stream of ice at it. It powered through and attempted to headbutt Esdeath, but she held back with her swords as she would impale it in the chest… where it would respond by swatting her away with the tail.
"Hmph." Esdeath smirked. "Good, a challenge." She said, and then spotted other Phazon-infused Heartless surrounding her as would Phazon-infused Rathians circled around her, along with some Nevermores.
With a chuckle, Esdeath tossed her swords up in the air and clapped her hands before extending her arms out and unleashing a massive blizzard to freeze them all, but before she could snap her fingers, suddenly the King Tyrant bit down on her arm, having flanked her. "What?!" Esdeath said in surprise as the Tyrant threw her across the campus, where she would hit her back on a lamp post.
"Nnngh!" She grunted, wincing from the attack as the King Tyrant roared at her. "Clever girl…" She said as she got up, nearly stumbling a bit as the Tyrant lunged at her as time slowed to a crawl before stopping.
End BGM
Immediately, knives surrounded the King Tyrant and then they embedded themselves into the Grimm as time resumed, causing the Grimm to roar as a maid appeared before Esdeath. "SOUL SCULPTURE!" She yelled, slashing through the Tyrant as it fell to the ground, fading away.
"Huh…?" Esdeath looked at the maid. "Who are you?"
The maid turned around, smiling. "Sakuya Izayoi." She said as she turned around to face a few Deathstalkers… until one Deathstalker was thrown at its cohorts where they both would see Meiling having thrown one of them.
"Hooooaaah!" Meiling said, doing a combat pose.
"Is this some sort of cavalry…? It's not much." Esdeath said as she noticed several Nevermores flying over head, only for them to get shot down as four Arwings came flying by, and then Zelda (ALttP) teleported in with the three Links by her side.
"No, this is a cavalry." A voice said as they would turn to see an Ursa falling to the ground as Celica stood in its place.
BGM: Air Traffic Control (Halo 3: ODST)
Then Esdeath would turn her head to see Alm, Marth, Caeda, Roy, Lyn, Ike, Chrom, Lucina, Frederick, Reflet, the Corrins, Xander, Ryoma, Camilla, Hinoka, Byleth, Dorothea, Dimitri, Mercedes, Annette, Ilia, Mewtwo, Ness, Lucas, Pyra and Mythra, and then the Hands showed up.
"Ozpin called us. Thought you could need a hand or two." Master Hand said.
"Hahahaha! Beacon will stand triumph!" Crazy Hand exclaimed.
Esdeath chuckled before smirking. "Form a perimeter around Beacon. Make sure nothing gets in! Ad make sure the students know the cavalry has come!"
"Sounds good. Let's move!" Marth said as they all took off while Esdeath stood tall against the approaching Grimm, joined by Sakuya and Meiling.
Sakuya aimed her knife at some Grimm. "Let's dance." She said.
At the west side of Beacon, team FNKI and ABRN were busy fighting off the Grimm heading toward them, with Neon Katt skating around a Beowolf. "Never miss a beat, never miss a beat~!" She smiled, jumping on a railing and smacking him in the head with her nunchuck. The Beowolf would try to swipe at her, but she did a 360 spin.
"Missed~!" Neon grinned while Flint blew into his trumpet to blow the Beowolf away, as some Heartless would pop in and to try and sneak attack the two from behid only for Kobalt and Ivori to take them out.
"Okay, what exactly are these shadowy things popping up from the ground?" Neon wondered, running a Shadow over with her rollerblades.
"Roadkill." Arslan said, as her team were slicing/shooting away at some Phazon-infused Jaggi.
"Okay, yeah, I ran over one thing." Neon rolled her eyes.
"Focus!" Flynt said, using his semblance and blew away a few Dark Balls and Defenders, and then Marth, Caeda, Kamui, Xander, and Camilla showed up.
"You guys need help?" Caeda asked.
"Who are you guys?" Reese asked.
"Let's just say we're friends of Beacon Academy." Camilla said as she held her axe in such a way that managed to make Neon's skin crawl. "Now let's get rid of these naughty monsters~"
"Ooookay, glad she's on our side…" Neon paled. Goodness, I think she's more top heavy than Yang! She thought.
Marth raised his sword up in air. "Together, we ride!" He said as he, Kamui and Xander charged ahead.
On the east side of Beacon, NDGO were having trouble with several Heartless popping in while phazon-infused Boarbatusks and Deathstalkers were making their lives hell… that is, until Ryoma and Frederick came in and destroyed them.
"We were handling them just fine!" Dew said.
"Sure you were." Ryoma responded.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Nebula asked. "We can handle them just fine without your help."
"Yeah." Gwen agreed.
"You think you can take on giant scorpions?"
"Of course!" Octavia nodded. "So if you don't mind-"
They were interrupted by an army of Deathstalkers and Avalanches as the two turned around and proceeded to effortlessly destroy them with Ryoma cutting off the tails and Frederick plucking the wings off of the Heartless as they were all in a big pile but were still raring to go as they charged at the group.
"All yours." Ryoma said as Frederick nodded as he got ready where there was a significant spark in his eyes.
"Pick a god and pray!" He said, quickly destroying them until there was nothing left, and then they turned to a stunned NDGO.
"…Okay, we'll follow your lead!" Nebula quickly said. "Dew, Gwen, Octavia… let's cover these guys!"
"Right!"
"That's more like it." Ryoma chuckled.
Up at the southern side, BRN were busy with taking on a Phazon-infused Rathian and an Anjanath while May Zedong was in position near a tree, shooting the Rathian and the Anjanath. The Anjanath stopped attacking the team and turned toward the tree before breathing out a phazon fireball that made May's eyes widen before she jumped out. The Anjanath roared and charged at her, forcing her to run away while shooting at it but it would quickly gang up on her.
"RHYTHM!"
Immediately, Ilia would skate around the Anjanath, placing music notes all around before gracefully backflipping off of it before she snapped her fingers, as the music notes exploded and made the Anjanath roar as Mercedes would destroy it with her magic and Annette came in to finish the job by stabbing it.
"You okay?" Ilia asked.
"Yeah… I'm fine." May nodded.
As for the rest of BRN, they would be quickly grateful for when Lyn shot the Rathian down with a few arrows to the wings and then both Roy and Ike jumped in with fully charged blades as they unleashed both Flare Blade and Eruption on it. The Rathian would attempt to claw Ike, but he had countered and slashed at the Rathian where Roy would swiftly use a fiery dancing blade attack and slashed upward to make the Rathian move back before Roy jumped in and unleashed a flashy Flare Blade to finish it off, with the help of Lyn impaling it in the head for good measure.
"Nice work." Ike said as he turned around. "But we got more coming. Lyn, Roy… let's move."
"You got it!" Roy nodded.
"Right behind you." Lyn said as they ran ahead and leaving BRN behind.
"Wait… that guy has the same name as our Roy?" Brawnz asked as they turned to Roy Stallion.
"Apparently so?" He shrugged as May came running in.
"What'd I miss?"
At the center of Beacon, Lucina and Chrom were busy slashing away at several Grimm with Celica, Alm, Corrin, Reflet, Byleth, Dorothea and Dimitri, the latter impaling a Beowolf with his lance, and then he picked up the Beowolf and threw it at some Creeps, while nearby, the three Links would blow up some Phazon-infused Minute Bombs which caused them to explode on several Griffons, Zelda unleashing Din's Fire to finish them off.
They would hear a roar as a Beringel jumped in and punched Chrom straight into the academy. "Father!" Lucina exclaimed as the Beringel swatted Lucina away as it leapt forward, heading inside Beacon.
"Tch…" Chrom wiped his mouth as the Beringel pounded his chest. "You wanna tussle? I'll gladly do it with you!" He said as the two charged at each other, with the Grimm punching him where he countered and sent the Beringel flying into a wall.
"Your end has come! AETHER!" He yelled, slashing him in a flash and sent the Beringel flying through several rooms until it hit something electrical. Chrom went running through and finished it off with an Aether attack which not only destroyed the Beringel but he also accidentally hit the machine which caused the academy's entire power to cut off.
End BGM
"…Whoops."
"Father! You okay?" Lucina came running in.
"Yeah, I'm fine… but the power isn't." Chrom said, rubbing his head as they would see a gigantic cut through the mainframe.
Lucina sweatdropped. "Uh… do you think maybe… they have a generator for this?"
"I don't think it can fix that." Chrom said as he turned around and walked away, putting his hands behind his back and casually whistled.
"Well… I'm sure they'll fix this. Not like anything bad will come from this… except for maybe… spoiled food, ah, I'm sure it's fine!" Lucina said as she ran off.
With Ozpin…
Ozpin used his magic to swat away a few Heartless when he noticed the lamp posts had gone out. "No…" He whispered as he turned his head to see Beacon gone dark. "No!" He said as he ran off. "Glynda! The power's shot! We don't have much time!" He said in the scroll. "You and Esdeath meet me in the basement!"
"Understood!" Glynda nodded.
"Oh no…" Esdeath whispered as she turned around and ran toward Beacon after destroying a Nevermore.
"Patchy, how much longer until we got the barrier situated?" Sakuya asked in an earpiece.
"Just about done. Give me a minute longer. This barrier will prevent any monster from entering Beacon's domain!"
In the basement…
BGM: Heroes and Monsters (RWBY) (Start at 7:40)
An ice drill drilled through the ceiling, considering the elevator isn't working at the moment, as Ozpin, Glynda and Esdeath landed on the ground, the three of them seeing the Aura Transfer machine that Amber was in. Ozpin quickly hurried toward the machine, seeing that the power for it was no more.
"Is it…?" Glynda asked.
Ozpin closed his eyes, lightly punching the device in frustration. "With the power cut off… Amber has mere moments left to live." He said somberly. "Help me open this." He said as the three opened up the hatch as Esdeath gently picked up Amber, then knelt down, gently cradling her in her arms.
"Mmm…" Amber slowly opened her eyes. "Is… is it over… is she…?"
"No. I'm afraid not." Ozpin nodded. "The power was unfortunately cut off by unknown reasons. You have just mere moments, miss Amber." He closed his eyes. "I'm… so sorry…"
"Don't… don't be…" Amber whispered. "It wasn't your fault, I know this…" She said as she weakly looked at Esdeath.
"You're going to be okay…" Esdeath said somberly.
Amber weakly smiled. "Your eyes… they're fierce, yet gentle… if only I could transfer my power to you… instead of my assailant… you would make… a wonderful… Fall Maiden… instead of… her…"
She took one last breath before falling limp, her eyes half open as small tears swelled in Esdeath's eyes as both Glynda and Ozpin closed their eyes in solemnity, all of them unaware of Patchouli successfully forming a barrier on the top of Beacon, disintegrating every monster and Heartless within the vicinity as it would successfully form around the campus of the academy.
"Status report!" Xander said. "Were there any casualties?"
"Just a few students, but we kept it to a minimum." Byleth said.
Xander closed his eyes. "We've done all we could."
Meanwhile, up in space…
Cinder walked around before she felt a surge of power go through her body. "Mmm!" She said in surprise. "This power…" She whispered as she smirked, flames coming out of both eyes. "Yes… finally, I'm the true Fall Maiden."
She would slowly rise up. "Hmmhmhmhmhm… hahahahahaha! Finally… it's all mine! HAHAHAHA… hahaha… haaaah… ha…"
End BGM
She floated back down. "Oh forget it, what's the point? It's nothing more than a hollow empty victory anyway…" She mumbled, putting her hands in her pockets and solemnly walked away, remembering how it all went down in Beacon after she was exposed. "Stupid Eggman…"
So originally, Roy was going to be the one to accidentally cut the power (And inadvertently causing Amber's death) but as I was watching a MasterOfHyrule challenge video, I saw Chrom and I thought "What am I doing? Chrom is right there!" soooo, Chrom accidentally destroying something important (without realizing it being important) would definitely be a Chrom thing to do.
Also, massive shout out to DarkRebellion for coming up with the King Tyrant Grimm!
