While The Heroes Were Enjoying Themselves at the Theme Park…
"Geez louise… these guys just don't know when to quit!" Falco said, shooting down a few Griffons and Nevermores.
"Have to hand it to Dark Samus, she doesn't know when to quit." Fox said, destroying a few Space Pirates.
"I'm gettin' real tired of Phazon Queen's reign here." Falco grumbled as he shot down the last Nevermore. "Alright, that should be it for that wave."
"Here's hoping it'll let up soon." Fox said as the two of them flew back into the Great Fox, landing in the docking bay and then a few Wolfens landed inside as well, with Wolf and Leon hopping out.
"It'll let up when Dark Samus gets her just desserts and unfortunately, I don't see that happening any time soon!" Leon said.
"Patience, Leon. Her time will come." Wolf responded as they would make their way to the cockpit.
"What's the status on the other ships?" Fox asked.
"So far so good. We did get the upper hand with Eggman showing up with the Egg Carrier." Peppy said.
"How many Egg Carriers does he have anyway?" Slippy wondered.
"I will make as many as I want to, frog boy."
"Ah, I forgot Peppy was chattin' with him." Slippy sweatdropped when suddenly, the alarm sounded.
"Another one so soon? Come on, let me at least relax a bit!" Falco said in dismay.
"We got an incoming transmission." ROB 64 said as he pressed the button.
"Star Wolf. Come in. Do you read me? Over. This is the Metroid Prime."
Wolf raised an eyebrow. "What does she want?" He wondered as Peppy would try to say something but Wolf walked up. "This is Wolf O'Donnell. Over."
Dark Samus appeared on the screen. "Hello Wolf."
"Dark Samus, you look different." Wolf said. "Where's that fancy helmet of yours?"
"Never mind that. Look, you and your crew are mercenaries, correct?"
"Yes, what about it?"
"I want you guys to help me out with a problem. I'm sure you're familiar with Samus and her friends?"
"The ragtag group of misfits that went off after you considering what you've done at the Star Festival? How could I forget?" Wolf chuckled.
"Well, I'm hiring you guys to help out and take care of the problem for us."
"What's in it for us?"
"Loads of cash."
Wolf let out a chuckle. "You're gonna have to do better than that."
"Okay. The number one followed by twenty-five zeroes."
"Ten septillion, hmm?" Wolf mused. "Alright, you got yourself a deal. Link up your coordinates and we'll be with you shortly."
"Gladly. See you there." Dark Samus smirked and hung up, then sent the coordinates to them.
"Hmph, she's desperate. She doesn't have that amount." Wolf said. "Not to mention she's the one that's killing all the worlds, so why would I side with that expired blueberry?"
"I've noticed she didn't spot us." Falco said. "Either she has tunnel vision or the blueberry's screen is so tiny she could only see Wolf."
"I hope it's the former. That'd be hilarious!" Andrew laughed.
"The coordinates she has sent us are in some quadrant called the Space Graveyard." ROB 64 informed.
Wolf let out a chuckle. "Fool. She doesn't know that she contacted the Great Fox. This is a golden opportunity." He turned to face everyone. "Alright, listen up. We have a golden opportunity right here. We'll "side" with Dark Samus and fight whoever the heroes throw at us. However, I have a feeling the heroes will call in for backup, so we will need to disable their communications. We will go in alone. Peppy, when we engage the so-called enemy, I will secretly contact you to give you the signal. Once that happens, we'll get the jump on Dark Samus when she least expects it."
"Sounds good to me." Peppy nodded.
"I advise that you take the refugees we have on some other ship, just in case." Wolf advised.
Falco let out a chuckle. "Heh, so this is gonna be a blast."
"Just don't get cocky, Wolf." Fox told him.
"Heh, do you realize who you are talking to, Fox?" Wolf smirked as he turned around. "Panther. Leon. Andrew. Let's move out. We've got a job to do."
"Right!" The three of them nodded as they would walk off.
"I sure hope they know what they're doing." Krystal said.
"It's Wolf, I'm sure he knows what he's doing." Fox nodded.
"Hmm…" Peppy mused, rubbing his chin in thought and then contacted the Halberd. "Hey Meta Knight, you wouldn't mind if we dropped off a few folks on ya, would ya?"
"…Just what are you up to?" Meta Knight would ask. "I just saw Star Wolf jump into hyperspace."
"Let's just say… a golden opportunity arose."
Later…
The Wolfens arrived at the graveyard, spotting the ship in the distance. "Perfect place for an ambush, I'd have to say." Wolf mused.
"Heh, she thinks so." Leon snarked as they flew toward the ship and docked inside where Dark Samus was waiting for them.
"What's wrong?" Wolf asked as they hopped out. "You look a little tense."
"Ridley informed me of a possible rebellion against me and I'm trying to figure out who it is. That said, I know you won't betray me." Dark Samus smirked and then walked off, leaving the mercenaries alone.
"Did she say that there's a possible rebellion?" Panther asked.
Wolf smirked. "Music to my ears." He said as the four would walk off.
Up on the bridge…
"Oho! So you recruited Star Wolf, did you?" Ridley asked from the screen.
"Yes indeed. I have a feeling this will be the start of a comeback."
"Indeed. Have you snuffed out the traitors yet?"
"No. All of them are willfully denying it. I'll hunt them down… I know they're close!"
"Heh, make sure you nip this in the bud. It would be a shame if someone were to stab you in the back."
"I'd love to see them try." Dark Samus smirked and closed communication with Ridley. "For once, I'm making a comeback." She said as she walked away from the bridge with an evil smirk on her face.
On Ridley's ship…
"Star Wolf? She must be joking." Mother Brain mocked. "Doesn't she know Star Wolf doesn't operate like that anymore? Star Wolf and Star Fox are on good terms these days."
"Heheheheh… she's desperate. I'd like to know what amount of cash she desperately offered them. Just so I can laugh in her face later."
"I can imagine it was quite a lot."
"Indeed." Ridley smirked. "I cannot wait to see this blowing up in her face. Heh… I imagine the look on her face will be worth it."
"Yes. Now… I can imagine she'll be calling for backup."
"Already on it." Ridley pressed a button. "Attention all ships. When that little blue failure decides to call for backup, remain where you are. Better yet, just say you're refueling. I don't want anyone helping her. Are we clear?"
"SIR YES SIR. ALL HAIL THE TRUE LEADER."
Ridley let a smirk. "Let the mindgames commence."
Ibuki: Ooooh, sabotage~!
The era of Dark Samus is crumbling down and she's not even seeing it.
