A Day After the Phazon War

BGM: Hau'oli City - Day (Pokemon Sun/Moon)

"Hmm…" Umber looked up at the Alolan sky while sitting underneath a palm tree.

"What'ya thinkin' about, cousin?" Kukui asked as he walked over to him, handing him a lemonade.

"Oh, I'm just wondering…" Umber chuckled.

"Heh, wondering that we all made it out alive during that crazy time?"

"Nah, I'm thinking of something else."

"Okay, what'ya thinking?"

Umber smiled. "Well, you know those Game Corners, right?"

"Ah, you mean the ones in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh?"

"Mhm."

"The same ones that were closed down for some illegal gambling practices?"

"That's because they did it wrong. They allowed children in those places."

"So you want to have the same problems here?"

"What? No, of course not. We're gonna do things differently. I'm thinking… no children under the age of seventeen are allowed inside. That way, we can avoid all that legal trouble crap."

Kukui smiled. "Well, shoot, cousin! That sounds like a good ide- wait…" He gave Umber a suspicious look. "This wouldn't be because you're seventeen yourself, right?"

"Whaaaaat? Whatever gave you that idea? That's totally not the reason."

Kukui continued to give him a look of suspicion, narrowing his eyes before replacing it with a smile. "Well, alright then!" He then turned around. "I'll see if I can get some Timburr and their line of cousins to help with this project!" He said, unaware of Umber wiping his forehead and breathed a sigh of relief.

That was a close one… Umber thought.

"So! What island do you want to put this new Game Corner on?"

"I was thinking Melemele."

"Well alright then, let's get to work!"

Later in the day…

"Alright, so…" Umber had his arms folded while several TImburr, Gurdurr and Conkelldurr were building it in Hau'oli City. "I was thinking of having some arcades to go with it, aside from ya know, slots, poker and what not."

"Ah yes, that'll do." Kukui nodded. "What are ya thinking of?"

"Oh, some arcade games that I've seen in the Mushroom Kingdom. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Street Fighter… all those games."

Kukui smiled. "Goin' with the classics? Nice." He chuckled as he looked through the blueprints, showing these to the construction workers.

"Uh-huh. A whole room dedicated to the arcade games… next to a bowling alley. Well dang, you're going all out with this!" One of them chuckled.

"Timburr…" A Timburr mused as he looked into it. "Burr Burr!"

Umber let out a chuckle. "This is gonna be great."

"Honey?" A voice caught his attention as he would turn his head to see his mother holding a bag of groceries in her arms. "What are you building?"

"A game corner." Umber smiled.

His mother raised an eyebrow. "The same game corners that were forced to close down in Kanto and the other regions because of children gambling?"

"He said it'd work differently! No children under seventeen will be permitted to enter. We'll even have a Machoke guarding the entrance!"

"Oh, how wonderfu-…" She narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "This wouldn't happen to be because you're seventeen, correct?"

"What gave you that idea?"

His mother simply gave him a knowing playful smirk and ruffled his hair. "Oh, you goof." She said with a chuckle and walked off. "By the way, when are you going to introduce me to this girlfriend of yours?"

Umber's eyes widened. "When did you-"

"Guzma told me. He said you picked a winner." She gave him a wink. "Can't wait to meet her~!" She walked off.

Umber sweatdropped. "Dammit Guzma, that was going to be a surprise…" He mumbled under his breath.

"Excuse me for a sec." He said as he walked off, then he pulled out his phone and started to text.

"Hey you two, you wanna come hang out in Alola?"

"Of course! We'd love to!"

"Great. Oh and uh… my mom wants to meet you."

"LOL! The funny thing is, we were wondering when we'd see your mom anyway so this is perfect! We'll see you soon! Love you!"

"Love you too."

Umber let out a chuckle. "My girlfriends meeting my mother… this oughta be interesting." He said and then right on cue, Xena teleported near him.

"Yo!"

"Wah!" A construction worker yelped in surprise. "Where'd she come from?!"

"It's okay guys, she's cool!" Umber chuckled. "You two ready?"

"Ready as we'll ever be!"

"Let's go. My house is this way." He said as the three walked to his house, and on the way to his house, several Alolans looked on.

"Who's that girl?"

"Is Umber dating someone?"

"Haven't seen her around here before…"

"Daaang, she's a good lookin' gal."

"Holy Arceus, he picked a good one."

They would soon arrive at Umber's house, where he would open up the door. "Mom? I have someone who'd like to meet you."

"Hmm? Oh! You must be his girl that Guzma told me about!" She said happily, causing Xena to snicker. "Alola!"

"Alola to you too." Xena giggled.

"Come! Sit! Make yourself at home!" She said, taking Xena's hand and gently taking her to the couch. "Tell me all about yourself. Start from the beginning!"

"Mom!" Umber said.

"What? Can't a mother be excited that you have a girlfriend?" His mother smiled.

"Yeah Umber, can't your mother be excited~?" Yagami telepathically said to him.

Hey!

Xena giggled. "Well, let's see… my name's Xena Ayami, I'm from the Mushroom Kingdom."

"Oh, how exciting, you're an other worlder!" She smiled. "Tell me, what's it like? Umber's been traveling there all the time and I've been wanting to know what it's like!"

"Oh, it's pretty chill. We technically get invaded by a big strong guy named Bowser but he means well for the most part. I'm also a huntress of Beacon Academy, I have a semblance that has to do with utility, I can make platforms and other kind of stuff that helps out… oh, and I'm also a psychic."

"Psychic?" She asked curiously.

Xena smiled and then decided to telekinetically lift a chair and Meowth up. "Mrow?!" Meowth yelped in surprise.

"Let's just say a walk around Dreamland gave me this power."

"Wow…" She said in awe as Xena gently put them down. "So you must belong to a family of psychics then! You're gifted!"

Xena frowned. "Right… family… the thing is, I'm an orphan."

"Huh?" She tilted her head as Xena went on to explain what had happened. "Oh, you poor dear… war did this to you."

"And there's… one other thing." Xena spoke up. "When I say "I", I really mean to say "we" because… I have a split personality. At first it sucked but then I embraced it… made us more powerful than we used to be."

"What do you-" Her eyes would start to widen as Xena glowed, letting her other self take over.

"Sup." Yagami greeted. "Name's Yagami."

"Oh my Arceus… your whole voice and demeanor changed… not to mention appearance."

"Yeah, I used to be her dark side… I mean, I still am but not as "dark" as I used to be. Explosions set me off, I went haywire… it wasn't pretty. I can you say I'm Xena's crazier side whenever she feels like cutting loose. When that happens, the semblance changes into destruction. In a way, we have two semblances in one body… hell, you could say we have two auras because if one of us is exhausted, the other half takes over. Not only that-"

"But the other side is still active in a way." Xena spoke up. "Hi, I'm still here."

Umber's mother sat there in silence, taking it all in.

"We know it's a lot to take in. We won't blame you if you're weirded out by this."

"…Umber."

"Yeah?"

His mother cracked a smile. "Guzma's right. You do have a winner~! Or should I say winners~?" She smiled.

"Wait, what?" Yagami blinked. "You're taking this surprisingly well."

"Oh, don't be like that." She giggled. "Our island has seen crazier things like Ultra Beasts, and just recently, that blue goop thing that took over half the universe. Don't worry, I made it out but I decided to hang back in that one ship while everyone was fighting on that planet… the Blue Typhoon, I believe. So, honestly? Two girls sharing one body is just another day in paradise for me." She winked.

"Huh, she's more laid back than I thought…"

"W-wow, Mrs. Lightwave… we're kinda shocked over how chilled out you are." Yagami admitted.

She smiled. "It's probably the Alolan atmosphere. Heck, when that weird bald guy broadcasted to the world over these Salem and Cinder people, the people of Alola were in awe but… we stand in support of that young Ruby Rose."

She then let out a giggle, standing up from her chair and walked to the couch, giving Yagami a hug. "You two deserve this… after all you've been through, you probably needed a motherly hug~"

Yagami sat there for a few seconds as tears swelled in her eyes before she hugged her back. "We… we didn't realize how much we needed this…"

Umber's mother let out a bright smile and sat down next to her. "Xena, Yagami… if you two are ever feeling down and no one else is around… my door's always open."

"Thank you."

She smiled. "You're welcome… oh! By the way… stay right there!" She took off running and then came back with a scrapbook. "You both wanna see pictures of Umber when he was a little baby?"

"HUH?!" Umber looked on in shock. "Mom, you told you lost it during the move!"

"Guess what? I found it~" She smiled as Yagami had an idea and decided to do some Astral Projection as Xena came out of her, and then sat down on the other side of the couch. "Astral projection? Nice~!" She smiled as she sat down between the girls.

"Mom, I really think-"

"Oh, babe, it's not gonna be that bad~" Xena giggled as the two would look through the scrapbook together.

"Now here he is as a baby~!"

"Aww!"

"Mmm…" Umber blushed. Note to self… pummel Guzma later… He thought.

"Here he is having his first bath in the sink~ My baby boy decided to eat some soap bubbles and immediately regretted it!"

"Oooh, look at that cute little baby butt! It's adorable!" Yagami giggled as Umber hid his face in his hands, blushing in embarrassment.

"And here we have-"

Several embarrassing photos (for Umber) and dinner later…

"You three have fun now~!" She waved and then giggled. "Oh my goodness, my baby boy grew up to have two girlfriends. Soon he's gonna have a harem before he knows it…"

"MOM! I HEARD THAT!"

"Good!" She giggled, watching them disappear from the house. "Aaaah, I will never stop teasing that boy."

BGM: Hau'oli City - Night (Pokemon Sun/Moon)

"Well… that was… eventful." Umber rubbed his head.

"Aw, but you looked cute!" Xena said.

"Totally!"

"…You two are still gonna be separated for a while?"

"Why not, let everyone see how much of a bad boy you really are… dating two people in one body at once~" Yagami winked.

Umber chuckled, deciding to rest under a palm tree with the girls sitting next to him, all of them looking at the stars together. "Just think… the Game Corner will be finished soon and then everyone'll be flocking over to it."

"Yup." Xena nodded.

Umber frowned. "So um… I've been thinking about something for a while."

"What is it?"

"…Honestly, I think maybe I should just pass the torch to someone else as champion."

"What?!" Yagami exclaimed in surprise. "What do you-"

"Well, I never imagined how exhausting a champion could be… I mean, it went on for so long, with all the all nighters I've pulled, not to mention Team Rainbow Rocket…" He sighed. "I mean, look at me… I was a bright happy child and now… because of this, I've become narcoleptic. I still don't know how the other champions manage to pull it off without being stressed. Hell, I'm not sure how GLORIA does it."

"Honestly… we won't blame you if you did." Xena said. "I mean, if it had you develop narcolepsy, then… I dunno…"

"Exactly." Umber nodded. "I'm just thinking about it, though. I'm not sure if I want to go through with it and yet… do I really want to be stressed out again? I mean, yeah, I finally found a balance after Delfino, but… there's that chance where it might happen again, this time ten times worse…"

"That is something to think about." Yagami nodded. "Honestly, we'll support you either way."

"Yeah… and I don't think anyone would blame me if I did."

The three of them would continue to look at the stars together, before Xena and Yagami looked at each other with a playful smirk and turned to Umber. "Hey, we know a way of what might cheer you up~"

"Hmm?" He looked at them curiously as both girls snapped their fingers as bikinis magically appeared on their person. "Wh-whoa…~" He said, his eyes shifting down. "DD cups?"

"Uh-huh~ Just relax, honey~" Yagami smiled, both of them shoving his arms between them, his blush going a deeper red as he had a smile on his face, where both of them kissed them on his cheeks.

Nearby, Guzma was watching with binoculars. "Heh! I always knew they'd be the dominator of that relationship."

"What are you talking about?" Lillie asked as she gently took the binoculars and took a look, where she started blushing and shoved it into his hands. "You're awful…"

"What can I say? I suggested they oughta do that with him after we finished up the war."

"So that's what you were up to when we were coming back from K2L..." Lillie mumbled, still blushing.

As the trio would be snuggled up together under the moonlight, not a care in the world... they would soon feel vibrations underneath them, and the vibrations continued to grow, with louder stomps each time.

"What the..." Xena wondered.

"Am I interrupting something?"

The three looked back to see none other than the Koopa King himself. "Bowser?!" The three exclaimed, then the girls separated themselves from him.

"We weren't doing anything too sexual, we promise!" Xena said.

"Yeah, we were just-"

"I don't want to hear it." Bowser picked up Umber and strapped him over his shoulder.

"Waaaah!" He yelped.

"I've been looking all over for you. You're coming with me." He said and turned to Xena and Yagami. "Ladies." He nodded at them and walked off, while Umber had a "What the hell is going on?" look on his face.

"What just happened?" Yagami asked.

"I don't know, but I feel like our guy just got kidnapped." Xena said.

Yagami folded her arms. "Unless..."

"Huh?"

"I have a theory." Yagami turned to her lighter self with a smirk. "And I have a pretty good feeling we're going to be dating a bad boy soon."

Later, at Bowser's Castle...

BGM: Bowser's Castle (Fortune Street)

"Everyone, I'd like to make an announcement!" Bowser said. "He helped Junior out during the Blorb Crisis and he also saved my tail when I was corrupted in that phazon junk! So, with that in mind, and with the request from my son, please welcome our newest minion in my army, Umber Lightwave!"

"...Oh my Arceus, I just got conscripted." Umber said in disbelief as everyone cheered.

"Alright, alright, dismissed. Go back to what you were doing!" He said as the minions dispersed. Bowser patted him on the back. "Hope you don't mind fighting your girlfriends." He chuckled and walked off.

Umber still stood in the throne room, still completely in disbelief. "What the hell just happened?"

"Don't feel too bad. I have to fight my girl too." Marnie spoke up, putting her hands on Umber's shoulder to shake him to get him to snap out of it.

"...Ya know, when Junior "conscripted" me, I didn't think it'd go this far."

"First time?" Marnie snickered, causing Umber ro laugh with her. "Don't feel too bad, Lord Bowser's a sweet guy once you get to know him. Sure, he drives me crazy sometimes, but he means well."

Umber chuckled. "Yeah, it's not like we're serving under Ganondorf or Baldy McNose Hair."

Marnie laughed. "Could you even imagine..." She chuckled.

"So true." Umber smiled and then looked down at Marnie's metal arm. "You know, there's not a day that goes by that I wish that day was different... if only I were fast enough to get around that barrier and saved you from nearly dying."

Marnie sighed. "You know how some days are better than others for me? This isn't one of those days." She looked down. "Every day, I wake up and I see my metal arm... a reminder of what happened. Then I'm reminded of my eyes and it's just..." She teared up. "I hate it... I hate him so much..."

"If only there was a way to get them back." Umber said sadly.

Marnie looked away. "Honestly, it feels like a pipe dream at this point..."

Umber wrapped himself around Marnie to hug her. "It's going to be okay..."

"I wish it was..." Marnie mumbled, sniffing a little.

"Hmm... oh!" Umber pulled out his phone and snapped a selfie of the two, showing Bowser's throne in the background.

"Guess who got conscripted in Bowser's army?"

"LOL! CALLED IT! Guess we're dating a bad boy now! - Yagami"

"Hey, Marn's feeling down. You think we could cheer her up?"

"Thought you'd never ask."

At that moment, Xena had teleported to their location where Yagami had merged back with her. "Come on, Marnie. We're gonna cheer you up~!"

"What do you have in mind?"

"Ever heard of Mantine Surfing?"

"Mantine... Surfing?" Marnie tilted her head.

Xena grinned. "It's all the rage in Alola. Come on!" She said, grabbing Umber and Marnie's hands and teleported to Alola, where the four of them would have a grand time Mantine surfing.

Ibuki: That's one way to cheer Marnie-chan up!

Pokémon today, Pokémon Direct tomorrow... wonder what'll happen tomorrow? Personally, I think it's a tad too early for Gen 9, but I've heard of rumors regarding Legends DLC.

Ibuki: Maybe another Mystery Dungeon remaster?

Hey, if it's Explorers DX, hopefully I'll finally see what these side stories were about that were in Explorers of Sky... and maybe finally get revenge on that stupid Darkrai that I could never beat.
