Moments After Chaos Ruby Lost Contact With Ruby

BGM: Sad Girl (Super Mario Galaxy)

"Breaking news! A beam of darkness has struck the moon and large chunks of it are falling to Remnant! No sources are sure of where the beam of darkness came from… but the moon has been destroyed and it's about to fall on top of us!"

Palutena quickly arrived in a heavenly light, watching the meteors fall toward the planet. "What happened…" She wondered as she swiftly aimed her staff to try to slow the meteors down when Rosalina teleported in and caught some of the meteors telepathically, crushing them in force fields while other meteors slammed into the planet, destroying fields and buildings while narrowly destroying Atlas if it wasn't for Esdeath freezing it on the spot and shattering it.

"What is going on? What happened?" Palutena wondered.

"I don't know… but I feel like this is just the beginning of something tragic…" Rosalina responded. "It's as if someone is in great agonizing pain…"

Three Days Later

BGM: Answers (Final Fantasy XIV) (Start at 0:55)

"It has now been three days ever since the moon was struck. Meteors are still falling to Remnant as the goddess Palutena and Rosalina are doing everything they can to minimize the damage. However, people are now in mourning over the moon. Lives have been lost… and no one knows what has happened to the moon. Clean up crews all over the world, fixing what had happened. However, they're at their wits end as more moon chunks continue to fall."

At Beacon, Yang and Coco moved a moon rock away with the help of Xena, tossing it into a pile. "There we go… I'm glad Beacon didn't get hurt too badly." Coco said.

"Yeah, and the tower itself is in good shape." Yang said. "Still… I wonder what was the cause of this." She said as Xena teleported away to see if there were any other moon chunks nearby.

"Yang!" Reflet called out as Yang walked over to her, seeing Weiss and Blake approaching.

"You got any leads?" Yang asked.

"Unfortunately, no… but Weiss did mention she swore the beam of darkness looked familiar."

"Yeah… it was-"

Darkness formed in the middle of the ground as they turned to see Chaos Ruby emerging from the darkness. A saddened, broken Chaos Ruby.

"Ruby!" Yang smiled as she walked over to her. "Oh, I'm so glad to see you. Have you come back to-"

A wave of darkness punched Yang in the gut.

"HNNNNGH!" She grunted as she was sent flying, her aura shattering instantly.

"YANG!" Weiss yelled.

"I do not go by that name anymore…" Chaos Ruby said, her voice sounding absolutely broken and defeated. Tears ran down her cheeks. "I have lost everything… and there's nothing I can do… except for restoring this world in my image… where I can be truly happy…"

"What…?" Blake looked at her in concern. "What do you mean?"

"...This is what I mean…"

She raised her hands up in the air, darkness pouring out of it and shooting up into the air as it formed into the Chaos Heart, as said Chaos Heart started to transform into a giant dark blue draconic beast.

Nothing Left to Lose - Chaos (Ruby)

Chaos Incarnate - Chaos Bahamut

Chaos Bahamut opened up its mouth and charged up a powerful chaos breath attack into the sky, where said breath exploded and sent down dark meteors across the land of Remnant and the Mushroom Kingdom.

Some of them even reached Beacon Academy, destroying everything around it as Chaos Bahamut flapped its wings and flew off toward the ends of Remnant, the wings shooting off more chaotic energy as they slammed into the ground and created powerful explosions.

"RUBY! Why are you doing this?!" Blake called out to her.

"I told you… I don't go by that name anymore…" Chaos Ruby said, forming a blue scythe as she threw it at Blake, where she used her semblance to dodge, but the scythe exploded behind her, sending blue fire into her back.

"Gyah!" She screamed as she fell on both knees where a dark aura surrounded Reflet.

"So, this is how you wish to fight? Then so be it!" Reflet levitated off of the ground as Grima emerged out of Reflet. "Raise some hell, Grima!"

"With pleasure!" Grima unleashed a powerful breath attack onto Chaos Ruby, but she aimed her hand and manipulated the flames to go around her while also unleashing a dark energy beam from her hands as Reflet attempted to help out but the dark beam of energy overpowered them and engulfed the two.

"AAAAAGH!" Reflet cried as she was blasted into the lake as Weiss immediately went into her Fierce Deity form and swung her blades at Chaos Ruby, but she summoned two dark blue blades and blocked Weiss.

"Ruby! Is this how you want it to go? This isn't like you!"

"I don't care anymore… this whole world needs to go…" Chaos Ruby said, parrying Weiss and then telekinetically grabbing Weiss by the throat and then throwing her down and blasting her with blue flames.

"I… I don't get it… how is she not realizing she's fighting us?" Blake wondered as Chaos Ruby clapped her hands together.

"Beacon will fall!" She punched the ground and unleashed a powerful explosion that engulfed the entire academy.

As for Chaos Bahamut, it was wreaking havoc everywhere, breathing fire as the ground exploded as soon as the fire touched it, buildings were swiftly destroyed, mountains were leveled… nothing could stop this draconic despair.

It flew toward the Smash Mansion and breathed fire as the Hands teleported in to stop its rampage as they tried to launch their own magic attacks at the beast, but it flapped its wings to knock them back as meteors came down as Bahamut unleashed a Chaos Megaflare at the Smash Mansion as the Hands attempted to block the attack but the Megaflare pushed them down into the Mansion, forcing them inside as the Megaflare exploded, destroying the entire Smash Mansion.

A Hyper Beam struck the creature as Bahamut turned around to see who had dared to attack it. It would see that Rayquaza, being ridden by Zinnia, flew toward the dragon as Zinnia backflipped off and Mega Evolved Rayquaza, but Chaos Bahamut raised its paw and backhanded Mega Rayquaza into what was left of the mansion. Zinnia's eyes widened in shock as Bahamut flew away, deeming Zinnia unimportant.

Meteors kept striking the Mushroom Kingdom as Bahamut arrived and unleashed another Megaflare as Rosalina and Palutena tried to prevent it from harming Toad Town as Rosalina flew up and threw comets at the creature as it breathed fire. Rosalina formed a barrier, but to her horror, the barrier cracked before it shattered and engulfed Rosalina. "AAAAAAGH!" She screamed as she was thrown toward Peach's Castle.

"ROSIE!" Palutena yelled as she turned her head to see Bahamut charging up a Megaflare, forcing Palutena to teleport straight to Rosalina as the Megaflare struck Toad Town, unleashing a powerful explosion that leveled it, then it flapped its wings and stared at Peach's Castle as Palutena helped up Rosalina.

It flapped its wings, unleashing blue Ragnarok-like meteors straight for the duo. However, a large Pokemon landed in front of them and blocked the attack with its hands, taking most of the blow while explosions danced around Peach's Castle.

Palutena looked up with a small gasp. "Zygarde…" She said as Zygarde, in his complete forme, stared at the gigantic beast before it as Bahamut roared. Zygarde jumped up and raised its arms up in the air before unleashing Thousand Arrows, striking Bahamut as it was forced to the ground as Zygarde then proceeded to use Core Enforcer, drawing a Z into the ground and it exploded as Bahamut roared.

Zygarde landed as Bahamut snarled at the Order Pokemon as the two of them charged at each other as Bahamut opened its mouth while Zygarde pulled back his fist and slugged him in the face.

"Ruby!" A voice called out as Chaos Ruby turned to see Ozpin staring her down. "That is quite enough!"

"Ah, Ozpin. The one responsible for all of my pain." Chaos Ruby said after throwing away Xena and Yagami.

"I understand that you are deeply hurting, but please… stand down. I know this isn't you."

"Those are just empty words. Your words mean NOTHING TO ME ANYMORE!" She screamed. "It's time you paid for all of your sins!"

Ozpin pulled out his staff. "Forgive me, Ruby… but this is for your own good."

Both of them launched themselves toward each other, both of them swinging their weapons and clashing against each other, both of them struggling to gain the upper hand. "The longer you have that dragon out, the more powerful it becomes! Only you can stop this, Ruby! Just because you're suffering doesn't mean everyone else should!"

"I do not go by that anymore. It's only Chaos!" Chaos Ruby slugged him in the gut as a dark explosion knocked the professor back. He responded by firing lasers from his staff, but Chaos Ruby put up a forcefield and disappeared into the ground, reappearing behind Ozpin and unleashing chaotic waves, sending him flying into what remained of the tower.

Ozpin slammed his staff on the ground. "Never thought I'd have to use this…" He said as the staff glowed and unleashed a powerful green explosion, but Chaos Ruby unleashed a shockwave of her own to counter it, both of them connecting and then unleashed a powerful explosion that left a smoldering crater of where Beacon once stood as the shockwave was enough to level the city of Vale.

Ozpin fell on both knees as Chaos Ruby approached him, kicking him in the face to knock him down. "You may have bought time for the students to evacuate, but this is the end for you… Ozpin."

"STOP IT! PLEASE!"

"Huh…?"

Inside Chaos Ruby's subconscious…

Chaos Ruby looked up from her fetal position as she saw someone tearing through the darkness, a light shining in front of her. "What…?"

"Hrrrrgh… nnnngh! GRAAAAAAAAAGH!"

To her surprise, Ruby tore through it and forced her way through. "Almost… there… GRAAAH!" She tore through it and fell on her knees. "Hah… hah…"

"Ruby…? No… you're dead. I saw you fade away…"

"I'm alive and well. I tried to reach out to you but I couldn't pull through… now I finally did. Amazing that I can do that while I'm knocked out despite Dark Ruby tuckering me out."

"You're not Ruby… you're just a figment of my imagination…"

"No, I'm the real deal. We're still connected."

"Name the first thing that pops up in our heads."

"Hope/Despair."

Ruby facepalmed. "Ugh… seriously…"

"Name something I said to you."

"You told me to never give up hope. I'm strong… I'm brave… something that you gave up on. You may have lost your humanity, but you weren't going to give up on me. And now I'm returning the favor by not giving up on you. I still don't know where the portal is to your world, but I'm going to kick that chaos out of you!"

Chaos Ruby's eyes widened. "So it is you… you're actually alive…"

"Yes! Now please, put Ozpin down. This isn't like you!"

"Why… he's the cause of all of our pain… if he didn't scout us out, we wouldn't be in this mess!"

"You think he could have known that? He never could have predicted Dark Ruby or Dimentio or you succumbing to the Chaos Heart! You can stop this…"

"Why should I?"

"I realize that you're hurting, but this isn't the way to go!"

"This is in the best interest for Remnant… for me…"

"By becoming a god?! I hate to say this, but you're starting to act like Dark Ruby!"

Chaos Ruby's eyes widened. "Wh-... what?" She said in shock, while outside, Chaos Ruby stopped choking the life out of Ozpin.

"The more you do this… the more you're becoming like her. Worse yet, you're letting Dimentio win! You're also becoming like Dimentio!"

"I… I…"

Chaos Ruby looked around, seeing the destruction that she had caused as she saw Weiss down and out, Yang staggering and Blake trying to get up. She also saw her friends trying to get up. She looked up to see the moon had been destroyed by her despair.

"Ruby… I don't know what is happening… nor why you have relented… but if killing me makes you feel better, then feel free to do so…"

"What have I done…" Chaos Ruby said, tearing up.

"Ruby, you can stop this… please, call off your dragon. Remnant can still be saved!"

"I don't know how! I don't know how to stop this!" She sobbed.

"But I do…" Ruby smiled and reached forward and wrapped her arm around Chaos Ruby, hugging her gently.

BGM: Soft Light (Super Paper Mario)

Chaos Ruby's eyes widened, more tears fell as she wrapped her arms around Ruby and hugged her back, burying her head on Ruby's shoulders as the darkness in her subconscious started to fade away.

Outside of her subconscious, Chaos Ruby's eyes changed from a dark blue back to their silvery color. She dropped Ozpin.

At the Mushroom Kingdom, Zygarde was on one knee as Bahamut was also pretty beaten up but it flapped its wings, unleashing a powerful Megaflare to finish off Zygarde and destroy Peach's Castle.

…But the Megaflare never touched Zygarde. In fact, it didn't come out as the Chaos Bahamut faded away.

Chaos Ruby clapped her hands and lifted her hands up, repairing Beacon Academy while healing everyone up, she then shifted her hands toward what was left of Vale and repaired it as well.

"Ruby…?" Yang looked at her.

"I'm sorry…" Chaos Ruby quietly said and disappeared in her own chaos magic.

In the subconscious…

"It's going to be okay… I'm here." Ruby said, releasing her from her hug as she looked around to see her subconscious back to the way it was. "Wow, so this is what the paper world looks like. Just like our own…"

Chaos Ruby sniffed, wiping her tears away. "You would not believe how much I needed one… I didn't think I even deserved it after succumbing to the Chaos Heart. Of course… now I'm going back to a life of exile… but maybe a little less sad now." She smiled and then looked at her hand, gasping. "Your arm! It's… it's completely unrecognizable."

"Yeah, you can thank Dark Ruby for that. Shoved her Grimm arm into it where my Palm was and pretty much ripped it apart from the inside. I can't even move it… heck, I think she shattered my hip bone too. I dunno how I was still standing after that. Probably the adrenaline was kicking in."

"...You're a hell of a trooper. I think I'd be sad if I lost a part of myself."

"Eh, I see this as more of moving forward, regardless of what happened. Heck, if she died and my body was a total wreck to the point where I'd be a cyborg, I'd accept it gratefully since I wouldn't have to worry about her anymore." She laughed nervously. "Of course. I hope I don't become 100% cyborg, that'd suck…"

Chaos Ruby laughed. "Yeah, I suppose so… you think you're gonna get a cybernetic arm?"

"I'm not sure… though I think I just heard Viridi, of all people, is repairing my arm…" Ruby rubbed her head. "If that's the case, I don't think I'm getting a cybernetic arm. Probably… a plant one."

"A plant arm? …That's unique."

"Eh, it is what it is. New chapter of my life, I might as well roll with the punches."

"...You're a hell of a trooper, you know that? An inspiration. Never thought a version of myself would inspire me."

Ruby smiled. "I guess that hug helped a lot, huh?"

"Yeah…" Chaos Ruby nodded. "It did. Although, I don't think I'm ready to face everyone after what I did. It's gonna take time… maybe I'll wait until it all blows over. Let Xerneas repair the land, let the people rebuild… I'm not sure what I'm gonna do."

"Hey, I'll be here. We're connected after all. If you need someone to talk to, I'll be there. And I'll still try to find a way to get into your world and get this Chaos poison out of you." Ruby smiled. "Are you feeling okay?"

"Honestly, I feel a lot better. Sure, I still have the Chaos powers but I think I can control 'em a lot better now."

"That's good!" Ruby smiled. "And hey, I think I'll come visit you subconsciously every so often."

"I think I'd love that… and your hugs too." Chaos Ruby smiled. "Just… do me a favor and don't die on me again."

"Don't worry, I'm not planning on dying anytime soon." Ruby winked at her as she hugged her again, where Chaos Ruby hugged her again.

"See you soon…" Chaos Ruby smiled as Ruby pulled away and waved, disappearing in front of her.

End BGM

Chaos Ruby inhaled and exhaled deeply, collapsing on her bed and sighing. "Ruby… you are a massive dolt, you know that?" She scolded herself.

Meanwhile…

"DAMIAN. COME FORTH."

The Loss Leader approached Calasmos. "With all due respect, M'lord, I shed that name. My father was a fool for calling me such a simple name so I gutted him alive and made him eat his own intestines. I go by Magog now."

"VERY WELL. BUT I NEED YOU FOR THIS IMPORTANT MISSION."

"And that is?"

"REMNANT WAS BROUGHT TO ITS KNEES AND WAS ALMOST DESTROYED."

"...And that's a bad thing? You wanted to destroy it yourself."

"YES, BUT SOMEONE ELSE NEARLY BEAT ME TO IT. HER POWERS ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND WILL PUT AN END TO ME IF I AM NOT CAREFUL."

"Oh, I guess Salem decided to be competent."

"SHE WISHES. THIS DESTRUCTION WAS CAUSED BY THE CHAOS HEART, DWELLING INSIDE OF RUBY ROSE, KNOWN AS CHAOS RUBY. I WANT YOU TO ELIMINATE HER AND TAKE THE CHAOS POWERS OUT OF HER. I WISH TO STUDY THIS CHAOS HEART AND USE IT FOR MYSELF."

"...Are you afraid, m'Lord?"

"NO."

"As you wish, M'lord." He walked out with a smirk on his hands. Chaos Powers, hmm? I wonder what power it holds… perhaps I should take it for a test drive once I get my hands on it.

Major shout out to KaizertheWrighter for approaching me and suggesting this Gaiden happen after Dark Ruby's defeat. Hence why I said this was a special Gaiden. Another shout out to Wyvern for the ending scene.
