A Day After Shez and Dark Pit Were Conscripted
"Zzzzz…"
Beep beep beep!
"Uuuugh…" A hand reached for the alarm clock, trying to find the snooze button before said hand turned into a fist and punched the alarm clock hard enough to break it. "Five more minutes…"
Sunlight peeked out of the curtains, shining directly in her eyes. She groaned and turned around, trying to ignore the sunlight.
Unfortunately, the walls did not drown out the sounds of people walking around and laughing. And then there was the sound of Crocomire roaring. "Gah!" Shez shot up from her blankets. "Oh, for the love of the goddess!" She sighed in annoyance.
"Morning!" A voice said as Shez looked up to see Arval casually chilling against the wall.
"Mmph…" Shez slowly got out of bed. "Ugh, I've never actually been in a real bed…" She looked at the covers. "So comfortable, it's like it's inviting…"
She closed her eyes, remembering the day before when she got conscripted into Bowser's army, and the next thing she knew, she found herself having an apartment all to herself and things that Kamek had set her up with such as a flat screen TV, a walk in shower, a walk in closet with different styles of clothing, a hot tub, a garden, a marble tiled kitchen, and many more.
"Have to give Kamek credit… he definitely went all out." Shez chuckled as she walked around to check out her apartment while also making some breakfast for herself. She walked out to the patio and took a deep breath, exhaling deeply. "Definitely hot this morning."
"Ah, you get used to it." A voice said as Shez turned her head to see her neighbor casually drinking coffee.
"Oh hey, you're uh… Marine, right?"
She chuckled. "Not the first time I've been called that. The folks here in town affectionately call me that. Eventually, I just rolled with it." She said. "But it's Marnie."
"Marnie, right…" Shez rubbed her head. "So uh… I know you were checking out my apartment last night and I have to wonder… you're not jealous, right?"
"Nah. I'm more of a simple kind of gal." Marnie shrugged. "Punk rock music, I even have a workshop in there where I make inventions for Lord Bowser, I even have a garage for my motorcycle. I'm content with what I have."
"Ga… rage…?" Shez tilted her head. "Mah… muh… motor… what…?"
Marnie chuckled. "Oh, right… medieval times. You'll get used to it."
"I mean, I rode on a large horseless carriage with comfortable seats-"
"A train."
"...Train as in… training?" Shez rubbed her head. "Oookay, if you say so."
Marnie snickered. "Oh, you're going to have quite the experience." She said, finishing up her coffee and walked back into her apartment.
"Uh-huh…" Shez sweatdropped. "Well… might as well check the rest of this place out." She said.
Meanwhile, at Bowser's Castle…
"Pull!" Dark Pit said as General Guy pushed a lever as clay pigeons launched out, and were quickly destroyed when Dark Pit destroyed them within seconds.
"You're definitely getting faster." General Guy said.
"Yeah…" He then grumbled.
"What's up?"
"I don't get it. I was perfectly fine serving under Viridi. Why the hell would I get roped in with you guys?"
"Well, according to Lord Junior, he's seen you not interact with anyone at the Smash Mansion so he thought he could drag you here and make new friends."
"What are you talking about? I have plenty of friends!"
"And who are they?"
"Well, that's easy. Viridi, Phosphora, Arlon, Cragalanche… uh… Ruby… um… ah…"
"That's not many… plus one of them is a boulder." General Guy said. "I think you need to get out more. Smell the lava stained roses and what not."
"I get out a lot."
"Enough to make friends? Name one person who you are friends with in the Smash Mansion. Do you interact with anyone?"
"Only when it's my turn to fight. I usually keep to myself."
"Interesting. Anyone who you like fighting with the most?"
"Meh… why do I care? Although, I do somewhat enjoy fighting against Cloud and… well, Chiaki and Blake are good fighters too."
"But do you interact with them at all?"
"Not really… I'm not a social butterfly like Pit." Dark Pit said as he walked off. "I'm just saying, Junior made a hell of a mistake."
"Oh, did he now? I believe he didn't." General Guy chuckled. "...Wait, did he just say he considers Ruby a friend? How cute."
Later…
BGM: Have A Nice Talk (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story plus Bowser Jr's Journey)
"Okay… where the hell…" Shez wondered as she wandered around town. "I could've sworn I was on this street before."
"Just like old times. You kept getting yourself lost."
"I'm not lost! I'm just… exploring. It's a big town!"
"True, but we've been down this street like five to six times already."
"Not true. That… bowel-ling alley is new."
"We already walked past that five times. Plus, I think it's pronounced "Bowl"."
"No no no, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen that before." She said as she turned to the left. "See? I know where I'm going. That stadium looks brand new."
"We've seen that stadium before!"
"We have? Huh… guess we have."
"We're lost."
"We're not lost! We're just exploring!"
"Oh yeah? Where's our apartment?"
"Oh, that's easy. Our apartment is…" Shez looked both ways. "Is… is… uh…"
"Three. Two. One."
"OH SHIT, WE'RE LOST!"
Fifteen minutes later…
Kamek watched this unfold with Cinder, Bowsette and Roman. "She's definitely lost alright." Roman said.
"Have you tried bread crumbs?" Bowsette asked.
"I tried that. She ate it all within five minutes and she still got lost." Kamek said.
"How about candy?" Cinder chimed in.
"That was my next experiment. She ate them all up within five minutes and she STILL got lost!"
"Okay, how about placing maps all over town?" Roman asked.
"Weeeeell…"
"WHAT THE HELL DOES NORTH, SOUTH, EAST AND WEST MEAN?!" Shez yelled. "Northwest?! Northeast?! SOUTHWEST?! SOUTHEAST?! THIS IS WHY I CAN'T STAND MAPS!"
"Apparently I learned the hard way that she's directionally challenged." Kamek said.
"Well, it's not like we can get her Pokemon to help her out." Bowsette said.
"...I'll be right back. I need to talk with Marnie." Kamek teleported away.
"I think you gave him an idea." Cinder said.
Bowsette laughed. "Apparently so."
With Marnie…
"Hmhmhm~" Marnie hummed as she was in her workshop, listening to punk rock music.
"Marnie? Marnie! MARNIE!" Kamek yelled, before resorting to tapping her on the shoulder.
"Wah!" Marnie yelped as she turned around to see Kamek. "Oh." She put her headphones away. "What's up?"
"I'd like you to help me out with something. Apparently Shez is directionally challenged and she keeps getting lost in the Monster Community. Think we could take her to one of the Pokemon regions?"
Marnie smiled. "Of course. Although, I seriously doubt she's that bad with directions. She's probably too busy exploring the town."
Kamek chuckled. "Well, maybe you should see for yourself." He said as they walked out, only to see Bowsette at the door.
"Hi, uh… Shez wandered off."
"Oh, I'm sure she couldn't have gone that far. Where did she go?"
With Shez…
"WHERE THE HELL AM I NOW?!" Shez yelled, finding herself at Neo Bowser City.
"...All of this because you decided to turn right."
"I assumed that's what Southwest meant!"
Kamek and Marnie appeared behind her. "How the devil did you get to Neo Bowser City within a minute? Did you take a Warp Pipe?"
"No! I don't know what that is!"
Kamek sweatdropped. "Hoo boy… come on, let's go." He said as Marnie took Shez's arm and teleported away.

In the Hoenn Region, specifically Granite Cave…
"Ack! Okay… I don't think I'm gonna get used to that…" Shez shuddered. "What are we doing in this cave?"
"Searching for a Pokemon that will help you." Kamek said as they wandered around the cave, where several Zubat proceeded to swarm them but Marnie busted out a Max Repel to do away with the Zubat.
"Yeah, you better fly away."
Kamek came across some rocks. "Here we are." He said, firing magic at the rocks, but as they shattered, some Geodude were hiding behind them and looked rather annoyed with them as they hopped away.
"Gotta get a bit deeper." Kamek said as he continued firing at rocks until one boulder crumbled where a different Pokemon stood in place. "Aha!"
"Nose…?"
"...That is ugly." Shez said.
"That's a Nosepass. It always points north. It'll help you with directions." Kamek said.
"So… forward?"
"No, North."
"North is looking forward, right? Because I'm pretty sure that's how it works."
"Oh boy…" Marnie sighed.
"Well, have fun fighting this Pokemon. You weaken it and then you'll be able to capture it." Kamek said.
"You want me to… fight it?"
"Yes."
"Well, if you insist."
BGM: Fodland Winds - Inferno (Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes)
Shez unsheathed her swords. "You're gonna be my prisoner!" She declared as she lunged directly at Nosepass. "HRAAAAAAAH!"
"WAIT!" Marnie got between them, immediately blocking with her metal arm.
End BGM
"Ah, right… I forgot you're new to this stuff…" Kamek sheepishly scratched his cheek.
"What are you doing? You told me to fight this thing!"
"Not by actually killing it!" Marnie said, parrying her. "There's a more simple concept to Pokemon battles." She brought out her own. "Watch and learn." She winked and then turned around, pulling out an Ultra Ball. "Scrafty, let's go!"
BGM: Battle! Wild Pokemon (Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire)
"Ice Punch!"
Scrafty lunged directly at the Nosepass, slugging it with an Ice Punch right after Nosepass used Harden, then it used Rock Throw right after, knocking Scrafty back a bit as it Tackled Scrafty right after.
"Drain Punch!"
Nosepass used another Rock Throw, but Scrafty rolled out of the way and used a Drain Punch on its face, making the Pokemon fall on its back.
"There we go." Marnie tossed an Ultra Ball to Shez. "Now throw it!"
"...Uh… how is this going to fit inside this tiny little thing?"
"Just trust me! Hit the button and throw it!"
"...Okay?" Shez raised an eyebrow as she pressed the button, enlarging the Ultra Ball. "Whoa… and I just throw it?"
"Yes."
"Okay…" Shez threw the Ultra Ball, where it bounced off of Nosepass's nose as Shez would see a red light surrounding Nosepass before materializing inside of the ball. "HUH?!" Shez looked at it in surprise as the Ultra Ball shook three times before it clicked.

"Simple as that." Marnie said as Shez picked the Ultra Ball up, staring at it in confusion.
"How. What… I… huh?"
"Talk about a massive culture shock. I'm actually fascinated by this!"
"How in… what… how… how did this even work?! The poor thing is probably cramped in this thing!"
"Nah, they're pretty chill with it. Right Scrafty?"
"Scraft!" Scrafty gave a thumbs up.
"Now then. Based on what I've observed with your fighting style, you're headstrong, but you are completely reckless. I think I know another Pokemon that will help you out." Kamek said, teleporting them away.
In Unova…
BGM: Pinwheel Forest (Pokemon Black/White)
"Here we are… Pinwheel Forest!" Kamek said.
"Okay, so I just need to find a Pokemon here in… rocks?"
"No, you can find them in the grass."
"Oh, okay." Shez said as she walked in the grass. "Hey Pokemon I need! Come out wherever you are! I hope you're a very cute Pokemo-"
"Tranquil! Tranquil!"
Shez looked up. "Oh, is this the Pokemon I'm looking for? My, aren't you a-"
"TRANQUIIIIIIIL!"
Marnie winced. "Oh! That'll leave a mark!" She said, watching the Tranquil attack Shez.
"AGH! WHAT GIVES?! GET IT OFF ME!" She yelled.
"Should I go in and…?"
"Wait for it."
"Whirliiiii!"
"YAAAAGH!"
"Okay, I think I should give her a Pecha Berr-"
"Waaaait for it."
"OW! OOOF! GAH!"
"...She's getting beaten up by a damn Swadloon and a Whimsicott!"
"Waaaaaaaaaaait for it."
"Lilliiiii!"
"Aaand there's a Lilligant."
"OH! WHY DO FLOWER PETALS HURT?!"
"I swear, I think I need to-"
"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait for it!"
"How much longer do we have to wait?!"
Shez was down on her back, panting. "I wanted to fight… but you wouldn't let me regarding Pokemon…" She groaned as the grass rustled behind her as an Audino poked her head out of the grass.
"Audino?"
"There it is." Kamek said.
"Oh, an Audino!"
Shez painfully looked up. "Oh no… the marshmallow's come to kill me…"
Audino put her hands on Shez's chest. "Dinoooooo…" She cried as Shez immediately felt better.
"Huh?"
"Audino is known as the Pokemon that can nurse people back to health. Honestly, that took a bit longer than I had anticipated." Kamek said.
Marnie sweatdropped. "Ya think?"
"Great… so… what am I gonna catch it with?" Shez asked as she sat up, where Marnie tossed her a Quick Ball.
"With this."
"...Okay. Not sure why it's a different color but I'll take it." Shez immediately captured the Audino right after, where the Quick Ball clicked right after. She immediately sprang back up. "Alright! Where to-" She took one step into another patch of grass.
"TRANQUIIILL!"
"...Oh no."
Marnie sweatdropped. "One step? That doesn't seem fair…"
"GET 'EM OFF ME GET 'EM OFF ME GET 'EM OFF ME GET 'EM OFF ME!"
"Didn't even give her a chance to breathe." Kamek mused.
"HAVE MERCYYYY!"
One patched up Shez later…
"Haaaa… that was brutal." Shez sighed as her Audino bandaged her up.
"Told you Audino was perfect." Kamek said.
"Alright… any others before I get humiliated by another bird?"
"One final stop." Kamek siad, teleporting them all away.

In Alola…
BGM: Ten Carat Hill (Pokemon Sun/Moon)
"So, what about this place?" Shez asked.
"Well, we already have a compass, a healer… I figured you could use a companion."
"What am I, chopped liver?"
They can't see you, doofus!
"Oh, right… duh."
"I see… and what exactly do you-" Shez shifted her head when she heard some grass rustling, turning her head to see a Rockruff walking out of the grass. "Have… in… mind…"
"Woof?" Rockruff tilted his head.
"...Marnie."
"Yes?"
"Pokeball. Now."
"Here." Marnie handed her a Quick Ball.
"C'mere cutie!" Shez threw it at Rockruff, bopping it on the head as it immediately materialized into the Quick Ball, and three shakes later, Rockruff was caught.
"Funny enough, I actually had Rockruff in mind." Kamek said.
Shez immediately called out Rockruff. "C'mere boy!" She smiled, patting her knees and let out some kissing noises as Rockruff wagged his tail and jumped into her arms. "Oh, you're just the cutest~! Yes you are! Yes you are! You're such a precious little boy!" She nuzzled him as Rockruff nuzzled her back. "Oh! Ow! Yow!"
"Careful, they have rocks in their fur." Marnie warned. "Them nuzzling against you can be quite painful."
"Yeah… I… I gathered." Shez winced. "Oh, but the pain is worth it for a cutie like you~! Yes you are~! Yes you are~!" She kissed him on the forehead.
"...It's like I'm with a completely different person."
"You have anyone else in mind?" Marnie asked.
"Nope. That seems to cover it." Kamek said as they teleported away back to Shez's apartment.

"Hmm… what to name you three…" Shez folded her arms after they got situated. "Ah… I got nothing with the Nosepass and Audino, but… Rockruff? I'mma name him Pebbles!"
"Aroo?" Rockruff tilted his head.
"...No, that's not good enough… oh…"
"How about Jasper? Like the gemstone."
"Aha! Jasper!"
"Woof!" Rockruff wagged his tail excitedly.
Marnie giggled. "He sure likes it."
"Yeah." Shez nodded as Jasper jumped up and curled up next to her.
"So… Shez, I'm curious about something." Kamek said. "I don't mean to pry, but it seems to me that you tend to struggle whenever Byleth is mentioned. Why is that? She seemed very sincere in her apology."
BGM: Scent of Silence (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories)
Shez sighed. "Truth is… I want to forgive her. I could tell she genuinely meant every word. I know that she's a completely different person than when I first met her. And yet… I can't move on from the past. All I see is this… bitch who destroyed my company within seconds. And the way she acted, she was just… taunting me! Even if we had a civilized chat in that train and she apologized… I… I can't find myself moving on."
She closed her eyes. "When she got called out in that Grimm World… I honestly was excited that she was finally being exposed like the hypocrite that she was, but… no one seemed to be bothered. It just… drove me crazy. And then after all is said and done, her brother forgave her like… I never understood it!"
She put her head back. "So when I had my rematch… I thought for sure I could beat her. Instead, I got humiliated… and then Bowser just goes and conscripts me. In that time, even when I was wandering around lost, I… was reflecting on it all. By the time I finished, I realized I was truly lost in the town."
Shez opened her eyes. "I know Byleth is a good person… and I sure as hell know that killing her won't bring them back… and yet, I… I'm struggling to forgive her. I just… can't get past it."
"That's me with Cinder…" Marnie said. "I invite her into my home, not knowing she had a secret agenda and then I learned how much of a horrible person she was and thought she could have killed me at any moment. It just… freaked me out and with that, it just… made me see Cinder in a whole different light. So even if Cinder had genuinely changed, I… wish I could get past that myself."
Shez sighed. "If only I can let go of this grudge…"
"Hmm… I think I know what'll cheer you up." Kamek said. "You want to go to the ice cream parlor nearby? I think you'll like it there."
"Ice… cream…?"
"Come on, we'll show ya." Marnie said as they walked out as Shez followed them out of curiosity.

Meanwhile, with Bowser…
"How's the naming of the town going?" Bowser asked, sitting in his throne.
"Ah… well… we're still working hard on trying to figure out what to name it." Bookwyrm admitted. "Unfortunately, we're drawing blanks. We did think of Bowser Town, but we thought it was dumb… not to mention you already have a city named after you."
"Mhm."
"Koopa Town was another option but that didn't get anywhere. We've been trying for months but nothing ever stuck. I'm afraid it's just going to be the Monster Community."
An idea came over to Bowser. "Actually, I have a better idea."
"What is it?"
"Solana Town."
"Solana, sire? You're going to name it after your late wife?"
"It will be in her honor. I feel like she would love it."
"True. Solana Town it is."
"And Bookwyrm, if I may suggest something."
"What is it?"
"By policy, you said that humans aren't allowed to be in town unless they are in the Koopa Troop or they are dating one of our soldiers, hence why the Scot girl and the psychic twins are allowed in."
"Indeed."
"And Weiss and Blake are only allowed in via appointment only. But aside from that, humans aren't allowed in, but you allowed them in during that Red Sky crisis."
"Yes, but after that, they were evicted."
"Tell me something. Would my wife appreciate that?"
"...What do you mean?"
"Solana was always a welcoming Koopa. She would allow anyone in with open arms, that included the Mario Bros and Peach!" Bowser said. "With that in mind, do you honestly think that Solana would allow this policy to go on?"
"B-b-b-but sire! It-"
"No buts! Not only is it going to be Solana Town, but that policy of yours is moot. Effective immediately! Humans and Faunus and other creatures that aren't part of the Koopa Troop are allowed in Solana Town. It is what she would want."
Bookwyrm jawdropped before sighing. "Very well… but if humans and Faunus start making a mess, so help me…"
"Then kick the unruly ones out if they keep disturbing others! Personally, I'd say Solana Town could use an extra boost in tourism."
"Very well… you are the king." Bookwyrm nodded and walked off. "I can't believe it… that Yagami girl actually won…"
Bowser chuckled. "Hope you're proud, honey."
"Ehehehehehe! My my, that's quite the thing, isn't it! Wouldn't you agree, sister?"
"Oh very much so, yes!"
"Hmm? Who goes there? Show yourself!" Bowser demanded as two extremely old witches appeared before them.
BGM: Kotake and Koume (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
"Ehehehehehe! Hello there, Bowser! We are-"
"Oh great, you're Ganondorf's grandmothers, aren't you? Komaya and Kotori."
"Kotake and Koume!" Kotake corrected.
"What do you want?"
"Well, Ganondorf might have turned over a new leaf, but that won't stop us from causing mischief ourselves!"
"Indeed. We thought you would be perfect." Koume said.
"So you want to hassle me?"
"No. We wish to be a part of the Koopa Troop. You have our undying fidelity… Lord Bowser." Kotake said, both of them bowing.
"...So I get two old magical hags as minions? Ha! Oh, I like this alrea-"
POW!
"OW!" Bowser yelled, rubbing his head as both witches had pounded his head with their brooms.
"That's two YOUNG magical women to you, buster!" Koume glared.
"Ugh… you're both a headache already…" Bowser grumbled.

The next morning…
"Zzzz…"
"Woof!" Jasper pounced on Shez's back.
"Mmm… not not, Jasper… five more minutes…"
"Woof! Woof!"
"Mmm, go away!" Shez groaned.
Jasper smiled mischeviously, crawling on her stomach and then got to her neck, nuzzling against her.
"OW OW OW OW OW!" Shez yelled as she sat up as Jasper wagged his tail excitedly. "Oh… alright, I'll take you on a walk, you sleep stealing dog…"
"Woof!" Jasper hopped off of her bed as Shez got herself dressed and let out a chuckle.
"What am I gonna do with you?" She chuckled, putting his leash on and walked out the door, and then the Rockruff caught a scent and immediately chased after it. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Marnie watched this unfold from her window, casually sipping coffee. "Dog troubles already? Heh, she'll fit right in."
"HEEEL! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!"

Mhm! Shoutout to Log for coming up with Kotake and Koume joining Bowser's army and Jacob and Flash for coming up with Pokemon for Shez! ...She's gonna need it.
