After lecturing another set of homeschool gems on the earth cultre of freedom, Amethyst wa making her way to the beach house to get some break. She then met Jamie on the middle way
Ame: Hey Jamie
Jamie: Ouh hye Amethyst!
Ame: Sooo...what are you doing here?
Jamie: Well I was playing volleyball with Pearl and the Quartz gems but then Otar called me. He didn't go into details and told me to come here.
Amethyst: May I come along too~?
Jamie: hahah of course c'mon
Ame: I see you fit in pretty well in homeschool don't you?
Jamie: It goes fine I guess...though some gems don't like me there
Ame: Well half of them are not used to listen to humans in era 1 or 2 you know?
Jamie: So was it bad to be an individual?
Ame: From what I know, everyone followed orders and if not...well you get what I mean.
Jamie: Ouh...right.
Otar was in a stinky position right now... literally. His house was upside down after that party months ago, he didn't had either nerves or time to clean up the mess due to his adventures in other worlds. Branded as criminal, nearly drowned or fell from big heights...
Otar: Honestly this job will be the end of me. Compter couldn't you do the cleaning?
Comp: Mr Otar this does not go into my programming
Otar: Perhaps...alright you can turn off for a while.
Comp: Break mode initiated.
Computer turned off when the door of the house opened as he turns to see a confused Jamethyst couple
Amethyst: Wow this makes me think of my room in the temple
Jamie: Okay this surely stinks
Otar: Wow captain obvious is also a master of aforizm...*sighs* sorry it's just that I had a lot going on with a wild creatures, gems and people in either here or elsewhere. Also I'm a bit lazy at times
Ame: Dude relax we're here now and I can totally understand
The three started to unpack and place back the clothes and junk around the room with Amethyst using her whip to make it faster though it only scattered the mess around even more.
Amethyst: Maaan now I get why Pearl was bothered so much with my room
Jamie: Hah welcome to the other side of the fence
Amethyst chuckled before she stumbled upon a particularly strange belt with an hourglass
Ame : Wahhaaw look what I found and it's glowy...
Otar: Wait that's...Oh no!
The said belt suddenly brightened up the entire room as the three figures dissapeared from the room out of sight.
Amethyst didn't understand what was going on as at first she felt a bright light emanating from a fond belt and the next thing she knew was that she opened her eyes to see herself in a big hall, in a quartz uniform and her hands forming a diamond shape
Ame: 'WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!'
Otar: 'Amethyst I think we are in trouble'
Ame: 'Otar where are you? What happened? Why is your voice in my head?!'
Otar: 'When we were in that belt's range of work, it left a quantum trace on us that gives a mental connection. About the rest...Amethyst prepare yourself. We are either in a timeline where Homeworld still stands or in the past'
Amethyst's eyes shrunk at the statement as she began to worry 'Cmon Ame you can't let this get to your head even if you don't have a head'
Amethyst tried to relax and breathe as Garnet taught her. She then looked around to see that she was in a big hall with numerous gems around and in front of her were the Quartz soldiers, some of them even Amethyst from her world. 'Wow somethings don't change.'
She realised it couldn't be the past since she never served on homeworld, she wasn't even created yet at the time. That means that either the rebellion lsot or never even happened in the frist place.
Ame:'Wait Otar where is Jamie?!'
Otar: 'Ouh man I don't know...we were seperated so it beats me as well'
Ame: 'Wait we have this mind thing so can we call him?'
Otar: 'I tried that but it didn't work. Maybe he is unconscious and doesn't answer yet.'
Amehyst was about to continue but she heard a familiar voice
"Quartz 3F 37 "
"Shattered"
Amethyst recognised the voice. It was Sapphire's voice but she was shaken at her speech. Sapphire was once a prophet in Blue Diamond's court. 'Still is here...boy this really busts'
Otar: 'Okay listen we need to be careful. Just try to keep a low profile for now and I'll first find out where... I ...am...'
Amethyst:'What? What is it?'
Otar didn't answer for a while until the two gems entered the hall. Amethyst saw them and realised they were Pearl and Rose or more presently Pink Diamond. Aemthyst smiled sadly that Rose was alvie and well here
She noticed a human in her hands and her face went down 'Ouh great'
PD: Holly Blue! Why is this human here? If I didn't found him he would've got hurt!
HBA: I'm sorry my diamond!
Amethyst smiled a bit as she remembered Holly blue treated and treats the other famethysts. She then noticed Pearl was looking at her(*gasp* They zinged! Yay!) as their eyes made contact. It was beautiful and pretty, Amethyst could feel her presence right then and there. The two blushed at one another but Pearl was forced to look away when her diamond called her.
PD: Pearl c'mon we have some humans to visit!
Pearl: Y-yes my diamond
Amethyst stood there and watched as Otar was taken away to the zoo. So she decied to sneak away eventually when the others weren't looking. Luckily she managed to hide in the blind spots arond the zoo.
Amethyst followed Pink and Pearl down another hallway that shows an assortment of doorways on both the left and right sides.
This hallway leads to the Human Disposal Chute and a service door that allows direct access to the containment area.
Pink Diamond: You can come out Amethyst.
Amethyst's expression changed from calm to nervous and confused. Did they know she was following?
PD: You shouldn't be here. You will be scolded if not shattered for falling out of your line
Amethyst flinched at that moment while Otar gulped in his tracks. In this era, there are still many execution laws for even smallest failures.
Ame: May I come with you then?
Pearl: My diamond she can accompany us.
PD: Well you can hide under my cloak but be silent.
Amethyst: Of course!
The trick worked as they managed to get Amethyst into the zoo, unnoticably.
The containment area seemed as good as it was in their world. Trees were healthy, air was fresh though no humans were around yet.
Ame: Probably hiding for a surprise
PD: Here you go human. Back to your home.
Otar: Wow not much different
Amethyst: But where are other zoomans?
PD: Zoomans? That's funny
Pink Diamond looked around to find the 'zoomans' . Amethyst saw pearl staring at her. She knows why which makes it even more complicated.
Then the zoomans came out of the bushes to welcome their visitors
"HELLO THERE NICE PEOPLE"
"WELCOME MY DIAMOND"
"YOU ARE WELCOME TO OUR HOME"
Amethyst could recognise yet another familiar faces: J10, Y6, U-12, F-3 and ...
Little voice: It is time for the choosening. Please gather around for the circle of choosening.
Right then Otar laughed as he remembered about Zoomans last choosening which ended with crying faces and mourning tears.
J10: I'm so glad you are happy for the choosening time.
Y6 : Come with us ! It's finally time!
Ame: Ouh man kinda wonder who-
Amethyst stopped in her tracks as she saw her friend Jamie standing on the left of the circle
Ame & Otar: Just great.
Otar: We need to get out of here before-
Little voice: Jemi / J10 step into the center of the circle
Jamie: Uhm should I stand here? *goes into the circle*
Glowy earrings: you have been choosened.
J10 then immediately kisses Jamie on the lips much to the two's surprise.
PD: Oaaah Pearl look at them.
Pearl: C-certainly.
Pearl had a strange feeling inside of her as she starred first at Amethyst and then at the zoomans choosening 'Why do I feel like this? Unprecedented! She's an Amethyst and I'm just a Pearl. No one would want to be with someone like me'
Ame: Hey P? Maybe we can talk?
Pearl: Of course my diamond is preoccupied at the moment so.
Ame: Great *grabs Pearl's hand and goes off to the trees*
Ame: Pearl I know this will be weird but me and Otar must take Jamie out of here.
Pearl: *confused* I'm afraid it's not allowed to have humans outside of the zoo. Even for a diamond and especially not a Quartz.
The zoomans suddenly ran around them crying in tears
Y6: waahhahhaaaa
Ame: Wha? Why are everyone running around? Unless of course . Cmon P!
PD: Wait humans it's okay. Everything is fine
"I WILL NEVER BE CHOOSENED AGAIN"
PD: of course you will
Otar felt like a complete jerk here. 'Well guess that's what I get for laughing at Mr Universe earlier'
Jamie:This maybe our chance c'mon!
Otar: Right! Amethyst!
Ame: Here hide in the bushes!
The three were in the bushes waiting for Quartz guards to open the door which happened minutes later
Amethyst: Go for the exit!
They ran full force at the door, entering the exit but before they could get away the two Quartzes captured them.
Otar: Hey let us go!
Quartz: Oh no I won't!
Pink Diamond appeared, angry and suspicious. She told the gems to take the trio to her private palanquin for explanations.
PD: Can you explain what's gotten into you or them?
Otar looked at Jamie then at Amethyst. He thought to not tell her but this was Pink Diamond. She wouldn't stop caring about it if it took too long.
Otar: Uhm listen we are not exactly from here?
PD: I know you from Earth. A planet I... colonised unfortunately.
Otar: Well yeah but actually no. You see we are from another timeline
"Oh." Pink Diamond said, "Did I send you?"
Jamie: No it happened by accident.
Amethyst: And things there are different than here.
Otar: Indeed. In our timeline, you decide to use your Rose Quartz disguise to try and save the planet earth." he said, "You do it by trying to scare off all the occupying Gems. You and the fearsome renegade Pearl." he said softly, smiling at her, "But it doesn't work. The other Diamonds begin sending more reinforcements, and soldiers to try and hunt you down. At the same time, 'Rose Quartz' begins to build her own armies. It becomes a civil war." he said, looking down.
"A lot of Gems end up hurt. Shattered. You decided to do something desperate. You faked your own shattering, with Pearl's help, choosing to live as Rose rather than Pink. But rather than demoralize the Diamonds, it just pushed them to greater extremes..." he sighed, "In the end, at the end of the civil war, you and Pearl, and... your closest friends in the rebellion, were the only Gems left capable of thought on the whole Earth. The Diamonds assumed they won, so they left the Earth alone for another four or so thousand years. But then, they came back again, with plans to make a geo-weapon capable of destroying the Earth. We and the Crystal Gems, managed to defuse it, and kind of... peacefully settle things with the Diamonds. But it was a hard journey to get there, and a lot could have gone wrong, and did go wrong." he finished, almost out of breath, before looking up.
"Sorry it took much breathe out of me" he breathes heavily before he looked into Pearl and PD's faces, as they stared bewildered at him.
That's just absurd " Pearl said, eventually.
"It is kind of ridiculous, isn't it?" he admitted, smiling, "But it's true."
Pink's expression hardened, "I- I would never fight the other Diamonds." she said, "You're lying. You must be"
Otar: Say as you wish but that's only because it didn't happen here. And earth is now slowly destroyed and well the meaningless colonizations will continue
The trio looked down at the fact as Pink Diamond pushed further
PD: I didn't want to colonise earth but a civil war? A rebellion? That- that I would give up on being a Diamond, forever, to just live as a Rose Quartz with Pearl..." she stared down at Pearl, who was looking up at Pink with equally wide eyes, "The two of us, together, on the Earth, forever?"
Pearl recoils, glancing aside, "What I want doesn't matter"
Amethyst: That's not true
Jamie: You are your own gem pearl. A caring, strong and smart. We knew other you from our world and you saved us many times and taught us much too.
Pearl: That doesn't make sense
Otar: Pearl if you didn't notice none if this does. And honestly I'm tired of everyone misinterpreting the Diamond's position as something bad.
Pink: What do you mean by that?
Otar: It's just that you ARE a Diamond. Not any less than those three" he says. "Diamonds can make mistakes. They can be clumsy, in desperate, or hateful, they can forget things and be emotional" she flinches with each word, eyes drifting to the floor, "...Not just you. The others too." she looks up, surprised, "Yellow and Blue and White, are all those things and more. From what I know Yellow can get frustrated, blue can be sad and even white can in right conditions. But do you want to know something else? Diamonds can also be kind, and compassionate, they can have remorse and guilt, and we all can change, and they have the power to fix things- to heal too. You are a Diamond, Pink, but that doesn't mean you can't do any of those things you want to do."
He breathes heavily at too much words
Pink: This is so weird. I'm confused
Jamie: You also gave birth to Steven
Pink looked up at him even more bewildered
Pearl: What? Gems can't give birth to humans. That can't be...
Amethyst: Pffft as if.
Pink closed her eyes, "...Then, if that's true, what next?" she asked, "What now?"
Otar: Well I don't know. We got here thanks to the hourglass in my belt so...do either of you two have it?
Jamie checked out his clothes but couldn't find it until Amethyst took it out of her mouth
Otar: eww that makes sense okay we will go now but before that
He turned to look at the pearl and her diamond "you two will have to to convince the Diamonds to leave Earth it's not too late" he said, "And to stop the expansion. Get them to look into new way. A sustainable way to create Gems without degrading planets. And when they try to push you away or dismiss you, keep on pushing until they understand."
"And if they just ignore me? If they decide that I can't handle the colony and they try to take things over?"
"...We rebel." he said, smiling sadly, "And if they keep trying to force our hand, we fight back. And hopefully win a lot faster, and easier, and with less violence, than before"
Pearl: But what about you? Will you just leave us like this?
Otar: Not really you see I'm a space-time traveller so I will come to help you if it comes to that. And these two are here as consciousness not physically so their versions here can help you as well. There are also many others we can convince to our side.
"Just explain to them and ask for help after we depart" he said
Pink sighed "We'll see what we can do"
Otar noted " well cmon you two put your hands on the belt"
They did so before the belt started glowing again emanating a strong light before only a human and amethyst were left.
Pearl: What should we do?
PD: *smiled* Like he said don't give up
Pearl and her diamond spend some time explaining what happened to their Jamie and Amethyst. Hopefully there maybe a rebellion yet.
