In the arena of gem training, a clash of blades is present. Not one to the death but out of practice. After wild adventures he went through, Jamie decided that it's finally time and learn how to fight. He is not much of physical force against a much stronger opponent, however he is quite agile.
And that gave him an idea, and reminded of Pearl's swordsmanship. Pearl is not as physically strong as Garnet or Bismuth but she is fierce in her speed and sword skill which was perfect style for Jamie. After all he can be elegant like Pearl... eventually
Today he came to practice again and slowly he does get progress.
(In training arena)
Pearl and Jamie trade blows, with Pearl not breaking a sweat. Jamie on the other hand was sweating a lot.
His dedication surely pays off, as Pearl looks on proudly.
Pearl : Connie was like that too, my humans do surprise with their stubborness
Jamie : We are in a way. *sighs* What can I say.
On the sidelines, the two gems were cheering for her human partner.
Garny: I still don't understand why all of this is necessary. Jamie has me... *Moonstone glares at her*...us to defend him, he doesn't need any training with some low level pearl.
Moonstone : You do realise that we are not always around him? First Citrine, then that green *thing*, then those travels he had with Otar...I don't think that uncontrolled pink power and luck will be enough.
Jamie took a break from sparring as he noded
Jamie : Yeah, and I don't think I'll walk away so easily every time.
Pearl : About that pinkness, you still don't know how to control it?
Jamie : No...not yet. Didn't had the time really, I mean I did ask Steven and Lars about it, but Lars isn't certain if my case is same as his and Steven? Well he only recently obtained his own glowing powers. I'm not exactly pink, only on my back scar.
Pearl gave it a thought . She remembers them training Steven with his powers, which wasn't easy. At frist Steven couldn't even properly use the shield at least until one strange uncle came in which she prefers not to remind herself, but Steven did learn to use them eventually via his concetration and emotional mindset.
Pearl : Wait maybe that's it!
Garny : What is it Pearl?" She said in low tone
Pearl sighs as she continues
Pearl : Steven's powers are depending on his emotions. Maybe if you focus, you will conjure enough strength to project a weapon or a shield
Jamie never thought of that, nwo that he thinks about it...maybe he should've as it mainly worked around the time he felt extreme danger for himself or his friends.
Jamie : Maybe...
Jamie put his sword down as he made his way to edge of the arena
Moosntone : uhm Jamie what are you doing?
Jamie responded with "Just in case"
Jamie looked on first into the clouds, he liked this place. It makes him feel relieved and in a way free as eagle. "It's beautiful here really, but that will be later"
But back to the topic, he lifted his hand, closing his eyes and concentrating. For a moment, there was nothing. He pushed his attempts further, there was a glitch in front of him seconds later. Pearl could see that it was visible but transparent which meant it is unstable.
Moonstone : Wow Jamie you're doing it. Keep it up!
A small glitch was becoming bigger as Jamie's focus struggled.
It wasn't enough unfortunately as his focus broke and he fell to his knees, breathing heavily.
Pearl made her way to him, helping to stand up. "I think it's enough for today"
Jamie smiled in understatement, while he is young and energetic in his own right even he has his limits.
As four of them made their way out of the temple arena, water balls came down on their heads.
Pearl : Wha!?
Moonstone : Woah
Jamie : Hey what was that?
Garny : Who did this?!
A certain fusion stood beside the sofa that answered her question "Well did you like my surprise? I hope you don't mind"
Jamie almost forgot that they had a new fusion in the house, a pranky one at that. Not to mention that this is a fusion of his previous captor, Aquamarine, a gem who had him, sadie, lars, ronaldo as prizes for a Blue Diamond's human zoo, and her ruby companion or as Steven called her "Eyeball".
Bluebird : Well what do you think?
Jamie : Hoooh well… I guess this is... nice?
Bluebird in her thoughts
( Aquamarine : My how easy is this?
Eyeball : And they don't even have an idea!
Aquamarine : Hm and Riot said it won't work.
Eyeball : Well I will be glad to see his expression when we are done hehehe)
Moonstone , Garny and Jamie walk through the beach shore. Luckily there was no pizza thrown at anyone in the face so it was safe.
Jamie however was puzzled that they followed him all the way to his house.
This happened third time already.
Jamie : Can I ask why you came with me?
Moonstone : Well I like your house, and thought maybe you won't mind
Garny : And I'm here to serve you in case of emergency Jamie .
Jamie : Haah ok but don't you feel it's a little unccomf-…..
He searched for something but couldn't find it
Jamie : Wait where is my sword?
Moonstone : ….Wait I think we've left it in the temple
Jamie : haah okay listen you two can stay here to my house I guess, just don't break anything ok? I'll come as soon as I get my sword
MS : Sure just be careful with Bluebird.
Jamie : Don't worry. Believe me I know
The sun is going down, it was a bright pink sky. You might not be able to see such rare sights everywhere.
Amethyst : You do like being here already aren't you huh?
Jamie : Am I really? It's so obvious?
Garnet : Not just that, we come here sometime to train yes but we also like the view here
Pearl : It helps to think and clear the mind
Jamie : yes…well I guess I'll amek my way then
(In the hallway )
Steven : Did you find your sword?
Jamie : Yeah here
Jamie shown his blade
Relief was cut short though because they then heard screams coming from outside
The two ran out , looking for the source
Greg : UP HERE SON!
Lifting their heads, they saw Bluebird holding Greg by his leg
Steven : Are those screams of fun?
Greg : NO!
BB : " Years ago there were two gems celebrated to take down homeworld's traitor but then they were cast out, FORGOTTEN! When the traitor duped all of home world into loving him instead…."
Jamie didn't like where this was going so he held his sword in preparation
… Now rhey've come to earth… for their revenge!"
Bluebird then throws Greg aside and flies jst to split in to gems "THEIR NAMES ARE AQUAMARINE…AND RUBY!
A : Well ?It's us!?
R : Always been us and you never knew!
Steven and Jamie looked at each other, frowning
Steven : Uhm I always knew …
Jamie : Everyone knew actually
This took them by surprise
Aquamarine : What?!
Ruby : If so then why were you and those gems so nice to us!?
Steven : They are nice people what else did you expect?!
Aquamarine : Enough of this!
Aquamarine angerly said as she took hold of Greg by his hair and Ruby took out a small knife from her eye gem.
Steven : hey careful with my dad! If this is another prank, then you better cut it out!
Ruby : That's just softening you up! Now it's a time for a real torture!
Aquamarine : We've learned much about you, Steven! Especially your love for your precious "my dad"!...
Jamie got an idea as he prepared to thorw his sword. He's careful not to harm mr universe and disarm ruby instead. He better not miss
….but if you want him back then you have to do what we say, such as….destroying your house, bubbling your friends, and BURN little home world to the ground!
Ruby : Yeah do it or else…
Steven : NO!
Aquamarine : Then "my dad" gets it!
Jamie : No! You will!
Jamie said as he immediately flung the sword at Ruby, knocking her knife out of her hand and casing Aquamarine to let go of Greg.
Steven managed to catch him after that
SU : You ok?
Greg : Yeah lucky me
Steven relaxed before telling his father to go inside
Steven : Okay for all the pranks you did, this one we won't let you get away with!
Steven activated his pink power and flied up to them, knocking both of them with relative ease.
Aquamarine : We need to fuse to beat him
Jamie watches on and then remembers to get his sword.
Ruby : WHAT WAS THAT!?
But when he does return to fight, he isn't kinda thrilled anymore
A : You were uncoordinated try again!
He joined Steven, confused as the two tired time after time to fuse again
Ruby : THAT'S IT! I HAD IT WITH YOU!
They began sand fighting each other instead
Jamie : Guess they are teaming anymore
Steven noded "tisk tisk tisk"
SU : You guys fused just out of your hate for me didn't you?
"YES"
Jamie : Then it's no wonder you can't keep it together. Hate isn't as cooperative as love, or friendship or supporti-
Jamie's speech was cut though
Ruby : Great not only is universe this annoying but even this low life asks for it!
Aquamarine : I hate them both!
Ruby : As do I!
The two then managed to find a collaboration much to the their disappointment
Steven : Are you kiddin me?
Jamie sighs 'guess a honorary speech isn't always a solution'
Floating upwords a fusion came back "AT LAST! HAHAHAHA!"
Bluebird moved towards us as we prepare for a fight
She send numerous fragments of her sword towards them. Steven managed to block with his shield while Jamie hit them back with his own
Azurite dashed in their direction Steven and Jamie tried to strike her down to the ground, her speed however proved to be superior as she disarmed Jamie and thrown him into the water.
He looked on as the gems came out of the house, witnessing what happens and formed Alexandrite. Tables turned on Azurite after that .
Jamie swam back to the shore and seen the two rouge gems fly away with words 'We'll be out there' or hating forever'
Amethyst : You okay?
Jamie : I'm fine ….so they are gone….
Amethyst : I guess there really are gems that hate Steven…
Jamie : Or us in general….
Steven : yup
Greg : I'm sorry son. Everyone can change but not everyone want to.
Jamie : That's an unfortunate part of the reality we live in….so should we go after her?
Garnet : No. While they maybe bad, they have their own rights.
Amethyst : Yeah if they come, we'll deal with it. It's not like they are that much of trouble for us, right?
Aquamarine and Eyeball flew away far into the deep forest, to the place of meeting.
Those present were Citrine, Red Sapphire, Holly Agate, Emerald and Vincent Riot.
The latter was amused though "You have failed I see"
Ruby : Oh shut it!
Aquamarine : It was worth a try. We discovered their temple location for example.
Aquamarine explained as she looks upwards "And we can destroy it anytime we please"
Emerald : Really? Then a surprise attack will be effective to steal weapons and artifacts hidden there.
Red Sapphire : Everything goes well according to the plan.
Riot : Good. For now we'll hinder them as much as possible. It won't be much longer before the second gem war will begin.
Riot said as a dark black snake formed around his hand "Wouldn't you agree Pearl?"
A pear lemerged from behind him, hari as pinkas a rose yet eyes as black as darkness, smiling like a maniac "Of course my masters"
