Two Days Into Velvet's Vacation
BGM: Toad Town (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story plus Bowser Jr's Journey)
"Just one more should do it…" Luigi said, fixing up a sink with his wrench. He then crawled out of the sink and turned it on, water freely flowing down the pipes as he inspected it. "Mhm!" He nodded with approval and turned it off.
He then put his wrench in the toolbox and walked into the living room. "Alrighty, the leak is fixed, ma'am!"
"Oh, thank you!" The Toadette hugged him. "My husband tried to fix it but he made it worse… so we had no choice but to call one of you. Speaking of which, I wonder how Mario's doing?"
"Knowing him, he's probably taking a nap around this time." Luigi chuckled.
"Aaaah, that'll do it." She smiled, proceeding to hand him a small bag of coins. "Here's the exact total… though I might have thrown in a few extra coins."
Luigi laughed. "Ah, don't sweat it." He said and walked out the door as he headed back to his home, but as he did, he spotted a poster on the community board at the square. Normally, he'd take a quick peek before going about his day, but something about this poster in particular looked… really colorful that he couldn't take his eyes off of.
He approached the board to get a better look at it.
"GRAND OPENING: Introducing the Mushroom Kingdom's latest eye candy! Feast your eyes on this extravagant new place that will make your sweet tooth crave the sugary goodness: Sky High Sundae! Enjoy delicious treats while wandering around the ice cream themed area! Located a few miles near Snow Land!"
"Fascinating!" Luigi chuckled, deciding to take a picture of it and headed back to his home.

As he walked up the front steps to his home, he heard the sound of a motorcycle driving up behind him. He turned around to see Marnie parking her motorcycle nearby with Neo holding on to her. Both of them took off their helmets and waved to Luigi.
"Hey girls!" Luigi waved.
"Sup!" Marnie greeted.
"I see you have some free time on your hands." He chuckled.
["Our schedules just cleared up. We're freer than usual."]
"Freer than usual?" Luigi raised an eyebrow.
Pause BGM
Earlier…
"Hey Cinder!" Bowsette approached her.
"Hmm? What's up?"
"Well, um… this is kinda… awkward to ask you this, but considering you've been through a lot and uh… I wondering if…"
"What is it?"
Bowsette blushed. "How do I put this… Rei and I have been talking about it for a while… and um…"
Cinder flipped a pancake. "Yes?"
"Um… we were wondering if… it's alright with you, if you'd like to be… part of the family?"
"Huh?!"
Flambe nearly choked on some soup that he had just tasted. "Hack! Mmph!" He coughed in surprise as they looked at him. "Sorry! …Went down the wrong warp pipe!" He lied. Lady Bowsette, what the heck are you doing?
"I mean, you told me you had a hell of a difficult childhood, especially that bitch in Atlas so, talking with Rei about it, she's open to the idea." Bowsette said. "I mean… if it's okay with you, I mean, you don't have to but-"
Cinder chuckled. "Honestly? I'm honored." She smiled. "I… wouldn't mind, to be perfectly honest."
Bowsette smiled. "I'm glad… hey kids!" She called out to them as the Koopalings gathered around. "Say hello to your new sister!"
Wendy gasped immediately. "We have a new sister?! YES! I'm not alone anymore!" She grinned as she took Cinder's arm. "Come on, we must do our nails together! Put on some make up while we're at it!"
"Huh?!" Cinder exclaimed in surprise as Wendy yanked her away. "W-wait! Don't I have a say in this?!" She then turned to Rhodes who was leaning on a wall. "Do something!" She quietly mouthed.
"How can I? I'm just a figment of your imagination." Rhodes shrugged. "You girls have fun." He gave a teasing smile with a wave.
"Traitor!" She quietly mouthed again as Wendy kept dragging her away.
"MORTON WELCOMES NEW SISTER."
"Eh… seems kinda random but… that's pretty much how our lifestyle goes." Roy shrugged.
"Heh, let's be honest. If things weren't random, then it'd be pretty boring around here." Morton said.
Roy laughed. "True!"
"Note to self: Give Cinder a nice welcome pie…" Lemmy said.
"You're gonna throw it in her face, aren't you?" Iggy asked with a knowing smirk.
"Whaaaaaaat? Noooo!"
"He's lying. Atta boy!" Larry grinned.
Neo watched this nearby. ["Oh. My. Oum."] She immediately busted out her scroll and texted Marnie.
Dude! Bowsette just invited Cinder to be part of her family and now Wendy is applying makeup on her.
Wait, what? We're no longer Wendy's make up slaves anymore?
Nope!
HELL YES! FREEDOOOOOOM!
Hell yeah, sister!
Wanna go hang out with Luigi? I feel like celebrating.

In the present…
Resume BGM
"Huh… good for Cinder!" Luigi chuckled.
"Freedoom~!" Marnie grinned.
["Yeah, now we're here spending the day with you."]
Luigi smiled. "I just got home so, hey, I'm all yours." He said as he walked in with the girls. "Make yourselves at home!"
"Will do." Marnie said, sitting down on a chair. "Aaaah, nothing like unwinding."
["You said it."] Neo agreed as Luigi then remembered the poster back in the square.
"Hey, so… I found something interesting back at the square." He said, showing them a picture of the poster he found.
"Sky High Sundae?" Marnie looked into it. "Hmm, looks interesting."
Neo's eyes sparkled at the thought. ["Oooh, that looks pretty good!"]
"So, what do you say. You wanna check it out?"
"I'm game."
["Count me in!"]

"Alright, let's-a go." Luigi said as he went into the garage and drove out in his green Jet Bike as Marnie and Neo climbed onto Marnie's motorcycle and drove off.
About an hour and a half later…
BGM: GBA Snow Land (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)
The three of them drifted around a snow bank and went down a slope as they proceeded to drive on a frozen lake. Penguins slid on their bellies on the ice having a great time. One penguin dove into the water as a few others spotted the three and waved at them.
Luigi and Marnie jumped off of a ramp and then drifted to the right after landing. They kept going until they reached a fork in the road as they both slid to a halt and looked at the signs.
Sky High Sundae - Five miles to the west
Vanilla Lake - Thirty miles to the west
Sherbet Land - Fifteen miles to the east
Shiver Mountain - Twenty miles to the east
The trio turned to the left and headed toward Sky High Sundae.

Five miles later…
BGM: Gleam Glacier 1 (Super Princess Peach)
"Wooooow!" Marnie said in awe, staring at the area in awe.
"Mama mia, it's prettier in person!" Luigi said.
["That building is literally a refrigerator. I love it."] Neo giggled as the trio walked around, walking down the stairs and seeing the various ice cream shops. Neo immediately went into one and came out with a neapolitan sundae with a dorky smile on her face.
"Ya know… when they said everything is made out of ice cream, I was not expecting the ground to be made out of ice cream too." Marnie said, dipping her metal finger into the ground and scooping up some chocolate chip mint as she licked it off. "...Definitely fresh too!"
Note to self, take Daisy out on a date to this place later… Luigi thought.
"I think maybe I'll bring Gloria to this place later." Marnie then playfully nudged Neo. "Maybe you could invite Victor~"
Neo blushed at the name, causing Marnie to giggle as they continued to walk around the place as Para Biddybuds flew by with ice cream over their heads. Some Paratroopas flew overhead while eating ice cream cones.
A helicopter flew by, where they would see the front being made entirely out of strawberry ice cream while the tail was an ice cream cone. "That's creative." Luigi chuckled as they made their way to the fridge where they would see it was a massive ice cream parlor.
"Oh wow, jukebox and all." Marnie said.
"Hey, what can I get for you three!" A Penguin asked.
"You guys do milkshakes?" Luigi asked.
"We sure do! Root beer floats, milkshakes, frosty beverages, ice cream bars… pick your poison!"
"I'll have a chocolate sundae." Luigi said.
"Strawberry with some chocolate sauce on it. Make it a cone." Marnie requested.
["You got any neapolitan ice cream sandwiches?"]
"We got it all!" The Penguin said with a smile.
["Then I'll have that!"] Neo's eyes sparkled.
"Coming right up! By the way, the ice cream might need to thaw out a bit. The freezer tends to make it really frozen." He said as he pulled out blocks of ice. "To be fair, they just got out of a frozen lake. Really makes 'em nice and fresh."
"...Good Arceus." Marnie said in disbelief.
"If you wanna pass the time, this place is not only a tourist trap, but it's also been tricked out into a race track." He said. "Heard it'll be part of the rotation in some Mario Kart tournaments."
"Is that right?" Luigi mused. "Mind if we take it for a spin?"
"Sure, knock yourselves out! Which do you want: The fast way or the slow and boring way?"
"...Uh, which one's which?" Marnie asked.
"The fast way is your standard Mario Kart stuff. The slow and boring way is basically Anti Grav mode. Which normally isn't a bad thing, but whoever made this place didn't test it out properly. The railings are a bit finicky with Anti Grav and you fall at a snail's pace that would make a slow moving Pokemon look fast. Which is… odd, considering I've heard it's been done better in Big Blue and Mute City."
"We'll do it the normal way." Luigi said.
"Yeah, doesn't sound fun with the other one." Marnie admitted.
"That's pretty much the consensus. Even I'm not a fan of it."
["This is awkward… I don't have a vehicile. I usually just ride with my surrogate little sis."]
"Ah, we got plenty to choose from in the back."
With a nod, Neo went off to go look for something while Luigi looked at Marnie. "Surrogate little sis?"
"What? It's cute. Besides, I see Neo as a big sister anyway." She winked.
"Well, you two are definitely close…" Luigi chuckled.

A few minutes later…
Neo came out with a Neapolitan Jet Bike with a smile on her face. ["Found one~!"]
"In your own colors too. Nice." Marnie chuckled, summoning her motorcycle and getting on it as Luigi got on his as a Lakitu came flying over, all three of them revving their bikes.

BGM: Sky-High Sundae (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)
The three of them boosted off as they launched off a glider ramp as they glided their way through, Neo taking a detour as she went through the ice cream cone tower. She reached up and licked some chocolate off of her hands as they landed on the ground, then they drove off as Luigi and Marnie took the left path of the railings while Neo took the right.
Neo hopped over on the railing, grinding down on it as she was in the lead. "Huh, you can do that here? Nice." Luigi said as they drove up the steps as the onlookers watched on and cheered for all three of them.
The three went up the ramps, Neo and Luigi taking the right and Marnie taking the left as they all drove off and landed on some wafer cookie platforms before hopping off on some translucent tubes before they all reunited and went up the U turn going past a massive ice cream sundae.
"Hmm?" Marnie looked at some ice trays up ahead while they were at the top. I wonder… She quickly swerved off and drove off, activating the nitro on her bike as she boosted off and landed perfectly on the ice tray, leaving Luigi and Neo in the dust. "Nailed it!" She smirked as Luigi and Neo used wheelies to catch up to her.
Marnie drove off the last ice tray where she found herself on top of the freezer. "Huh? Okay, this is pretty sweet!" She said as Luigi and Neo joined her on the top as they hit the glider ramp and glided their way down on their second lap, unaware that down below, the penguin proceeded to press a button as item boxes popped into existence.
Oh, this just got fun! Neo thought as she struck an item box and used a Blooper, which proceeded to spray chocolate ice cream on the both of them.
"Ack!" Luigi yelped as Marnie slowed down and wiped the ice cream off of her eyes.
"Okay, I see you." Marnie smirked as Luigi shook it off as they chased after Neo, Luigi running over an item box and pulled out a rainbow colored Bob-omb.
"Wha…?" Luigi wondered as he threw it, where once it hit the ground, it exploded in a rainbow sherbet-styled explosion that caused rainbow sherbert to cover Neo.
["Oh, it's on!"] Neo smirked playfully as they drove down the stairs as Marnie ran over an item box and a red wafer cookie Koopa Shell popped into her hand.
"Sorry big guy." Marnie smirked and threw the red shell, but Luigi responded by dropping a green wafer cookie Koopa Shell to block the red shell. "Aw…" She pouted before chuckling as they went up the ramps as Neo hit an item box as a banana cream lightning bolt appeared in her hand.
With a smirk, she raised it up as lightning struck Marnie and Luigi, their vehicles turning into bananas and their wheels were soft and mushy, causing them to slide all over the place. "Whoooooa!" Marnie yelped.
"Waaaah!" Luigi cried as Neo went past them, and in slow motion, Neo turned her head and playfully stuck her tongue out at the two while pulling her eye socket down as she drove off, and then their bikes turned back to normal right as they drove down the wafer cookies and the translucent ramps.
As they went about the U-Turn again, Marnie tried to do the same tactic as before, only for Luigi to cut her off and dropped a point blank banana peel that made her slip. "Waaaah!" She hit the brakes. "Phew… alright… you asked for it!" She chuckled and chased after him while Neo threw down a Mushroom as she took the shortcut instead, landing in front of Luigi.
["Nailed it~!"] Neo grinned as they drove over the ice trays and made their way into the final lap where Neo was in the lead. She casually looked in her rearview mirror as she saw a blue wafer cookie blue shell coming her way. She immediately drove over an item box and once she landed, she hoped it was a Super Horn.
…Instead, a chocolate coin materialized in her hand. ["Oh come on…"]
The blue shell slammed into her, exploding into cookie wafers as Luigi and Marnie drove past her. "Sorry, sis!" Marnie laughed.
Neo shook it off, and quickly drove over an item box after eating the chocolate coin, where a Bullet Bill materialized in her hand as she threw it down and became a neapolitan Bullet Bill as she launched past the duo, going back to normal where she drove up the ramps and launched off to the right, going through the translucent tubes as Marnie and Luigi had quickly caught up to her as the three of them were neck and neck as the girls pulled up ahead of Luigi, but he had a trick up his sleeve as he had drove over an item box.
"Sorry girls." He smirked, throwing down a golden mushroom as he blazed past the two.
"Whoa!" Marnie exclaimed as Luigi took the shortcut, landing on the ice tray and drove his way forward until he hit the brakes and skidded to a halt right as Marnie hit second and Neo was just a split second behind Marnie.
End BGM
"Hell of a race." Marnie chuckled, high fiving the two as they went over to get their treats that had thawed out.
["You know what I think? We ought to bring Roxas, Xion, Lea and Isa here one of these days."]
"I was thinking the same thing." Marnie agreed.
"Might as well bring Mario and Daisy here too." Luigi said.
["Now you're talking!"] Neo smiled as they ate their treats with smiles on their faces.
The next day…
"Oh, you know I love surprises, sweetie but did it get cold all of a sudden?" Daisy asked.
"Okay, take off the blindfold!" Luigi smiled as Daisy did so, and gasped, seeing Sky High Sundae in front of her.
"Oh. My. Gosh… I love it!" She said.
"Yeah, the girls and I raced here earlier. It was pretty fun!" Luigi said.
"Oh, when you said you'd take me on an ice cream date, I didn't think this was what you had in mind!"
Luigi grinned. "Pretty sweet, eh?"
"Mhm! Have the Keyblade dorks and Mario been here yet?"
"Not to my knowledge, no."
"Well, we can all invite them later. Hell, same with Peach and her retainers! …I'm assuming the Ashen Wolves are her retainers now. Eh… whatevs."
"Sounds good."
"Soooooooo, loser pays for the treats?" She winked.
Luigi let out a chuckle. "You're on."
Ibuki: Nan-chan, did you write this Gaiden because it's your 26th birthday today?
Whaaaaaaat? No, that's crazy talk! Merely a coincidence! ...Though I am having ice cream cake later.
