Before Silver Time Traveled

BGM: Have a Nice Talk (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story)

Silver wandered around his home town, carrying a few grocery bags. "Man, can't wait to see what I can do with this batch." He said, closing his eyes, remembering the last time he hung around back in the past.

"Hey Silver, have you ever tried this recipe before?"

"Recipe? Blaze, I didn't know you were a cook."

"Sometimes, I cook in my spare time. But all you need in this recipe is-"

"All the items right here." Silver chuckled. "Took me long enough to get around to it."

He turned his head and noticed a little fox kid looking hungry. With a soft smile, Silver reached into his bag and pulled out an apple. "Here you go, little guy."

"Wow! Thanks mister!"

"Anytime." Silver nodded and walked into his home, closing the door behind him as he walked toward his stove, putting his bags on the table as he pulled out the ingredients and proceeded to mix them up together before placing it in the oven, and put the timer up to fifty minutes.

"There we go." Silver nodded as he went back to the couch and with a relaxed sigh, he turned on the TV… before he dozed off.

Fifty minutes later…

Ding ding ding ding!

"Ah!" Silver yelped as he stretched. "Goodness, how long was I out…" He said as he turned his head toward the stove. "Ah, time to bring it out."

He turned the oven off, pulled out his chrome oven mitts and opened up the chrome oven door as he pulled out a chrome-styled casserole.

"Eh…?" Silver looked at it with a tilted head. "...Wonder if I put in too much paprika." He said as he put it down on the chrome table as he put his oven mitts away and went to grab a chrome spatula before grabbing a chrome plate.

"Alriiiiight, now let's dig in and see how this… tastes…"

Silver looked around, noticing that everything looked chrome. He blinked, rubbing the top of his head. "Did someone paint my entire home out of chrome when I was out?" He wondered as he walked to the couch, noticing the spot he was on was also chrome. "...Man, I must've slept hard if I didn't notice someone picking me up to fill that spot."

He then walked over to the chrome door and opened it up. "Alright, who's the wise gu-" His eyes widened in surprise, seeing everything aside from the residents have turned to chrome. Even the sky and sun were chromified.

"What in the heck?" He wondered.

He walked over to a resident, noticing he was wearing chrome clothing. "Excuse me, do you know what the heck is going on?"

"...Why aren't you wearing your uniform?"

"Eh?" Silver blinked.

"Don't you know? Everyone must wear chrome or otherwise they will be thrown in prison."

"Thrown in priso-... HUH?" Silver rubbed his head. "Dude, what are you even-"

"Wear your clothing right this second or you will risk arrest and be turned into a chromatic robot."

"Chromatic robo-... WHAT?" Silver blinked. "Dude, everything wasn't chrome an hour ago!"

"What are you talking about? Everything's been chromified for years now."

…How long was I out? Silver wondered. …No, that can't be it. The oven dinged when the food was ready. So it's been about an hour for sure.

At that moment, the sirens blared as police cars and helicopters surrounded the area as everyone pointed chrome taser guns at Silver.

"Silver the Hedgehog! You are not wearing your chrome uniform! You are under arrest!"

"Okay, WHAT is going on here?" Silver demanded.

One officer fired his taser gun at Silver, but he telekinetically stopped it and sent it back, then he teleported away before they could continue firing at him.

"Okay… something's not right here and I'm going to get to the bottom of this." He said as Silver flew off, eventually making his way into a laboratory.

"Silver?!" A rabbit scientist yelped in surprise. "What are you doing here? And not in uniform eith-"

"Zip it!" Silver said as he walked toward the computer, telekinetically shoving her out of the way and typed into the computer. "Alright, what happened this time?" He wondered as he typed in the coordinates.

May 4th (Evening): Dr. Ivo Robotnik takes over a world known as Remnant and holds it under his iron first while capturing a staff in Atlas. He also holds Mobius hostage.

May 5th: Sonic the Hedgehog imprisoned.

May 5th: (Afternoon) - Eggman successfully takes over the Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule.

May 5th: (Evening) - Eggman takes over all worlds

May 6th: Eggman creates a new world order under his rule, changes everything chrome.

200 Years Later: You Are Here

Silver growled, punching the desk in frustration. "Why am I NOT surprised…" He grumbled as he clenched his fists. "Alright, I have no other choice. I'm going to stop him from doing all of this."

He teleported back to his home and walked into his room, opening up a safe from underneath his bed and unlocked it, pulling out a time stone as he raised it up in the air as it glowed brightly and he disappeared.

Silver landed on the ground after he time traveled, looking around and seeing dinosaurs roaming around. "...Oops, too far back." He used his time stone again to warp.

Meanwhile…

"So you had a heck of a time… and you didn't invite me?"

"You tend to hog the spotlight."

"Hey!"

"Not to mention there was no way with communicating with you, so I decided to go solo."

"Oh yeah, and I hog the spotlight." Sonic chuckled as they saw the area distort around them as they got in their battle stances… before Silver appeared before them. "Silver? What are you doing here?"

"Where's Eggman?"

"Uh-"

"And another thing, what day is it?"

"April 19th, why?"

"Good enough. I need all hands on deck. This is a matter of an emergency."

Both hedgehogs raised an eyebrow while looking at each other.

Later, in Mobius…

"Okay, what's this all about?" Vector asked as Team Chaotix, Team Dark, Team Sonic, and Team Rose (Minus Big) were all accounted for.

"...We need one more. Where is she?" Silver asked.

"Sorry I'm late!" A voice said as they turned to see Blaze walking in. "Had to give an autograph to a girl by the name of Chiaki. Nice girl, a bit loud with that fangirl squeal, but rather nice."

"Yeah, you get used to the fangirling." Sonic chuckled and turned to Silver. "So, what's up?"

BGM: Just Wondering (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories)

"Before we begin, I just realized Big isn't here." Silver said.

"Last I saw him, he was fishing in the New World." Shadow said as everyone but Sonic gave him weird looks. "Long story."

"Yeah, you're gonna have to fill me in later." Rouge said.

"Eh, we'll be fine…" Silver mumbled. "Anyway, my future took a turn for the worst again."

"I had a feeling." Sonic said. "What happened this time? Poisonous jell-o trees? Acid oceans? Rabid squirrels that turn people into squirrels when bitten?"

"That last one was… very specific." Espio said.

"Trust me, the things you hear coming out of Caboose's mouth will make you question your own sanity."

"No. None of that. Everything turned into chrome."

"...Uh…" Charmy blinked. "Isn't everything chrome in the future?"

"What kind of cartoons have you been watchin' this time, Charmy?" Vector wondered.

"What exactly happened?" Blaze asked.

"Well, let's see… I put that new recipe in the oven that you told me about, started to watch TV to pass the time, took a nap by accident… and then next thing I know, I wake up to find everything in chrome."

"...Even that casserole dish?"

"Yes."

Blaze frowned. "What a waste of good apples…"

"So I looked into it, and apparently, Eggman had something to do with it. He invades a place called Remnant and takes over it, while holding a scepter of some kind on May Fourth. The following day, Sonic is Imprisoned, then he successfully invades the Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule, and by evening, he successfully invaded every world that's connected."

"I'm held prisoner? …Wouldn't be the first time." Sonic mumbled. "Someone got real busy."

"And then after that, he established a new world order and turned everything chrome. Two hundred years later… here we are."

"So, Eggman's responsible for this." Knuckles cracked his knuckles. "We're running out of time too."

"So, we need to find Eggman. He should be at his base." Silver said.

"That's the thing. The doctor had been mysteriously quiet ever since he allied with us during the Phazon War." Espio said.

"Yeah, too quiet. We sent Team Dark to investigate." Vector added.

"I can confirm that Doctor Robotnik's base was completely empty." Omega said. "Orbot and Cubot were not there either."

"So Eggman's not in his base… that's troubling." Tails said.

Silver grimaced. "Well… if he's not in his base, then-"

"I had GUN look into it. There have been no sightings of Eggman on Mobius anywhere." Rouge said.

"Oh gosh… where could he be?" Cream wondered.

"This is horrible!" Amy said.

Silver let out a soft groan. "I have a bad feeling about this…"

Meanwhile, with Eggman…

"Preparations are almost complete. Ohohoho! And with the tech that I got from those Agarthans, it will be unstoppable!"

"I have a question, doctor." Orbot said.

"Yes?"

"Why did you pick this location for a base, anyway? I've been meaning to ask."

"Well, it was in need of repair after it was destroyed long ago. And besides, it's not like Bowser is using one of his old fortresses now, is he?"

"Ah… fair point."

Eggman smirked. "No one will ever see me coming. OHOHOHOHOHOHO!"

I was originally going for April 25th in-universe, but I remembered Skyward Sword happened a week later, so I was like "I'll just go to the previous week so it doesn't contradict anything."

Ibuki: Well, now we know where Egghead is!
