Two Days After Dry Bowser and Co met El Cinco

BGM: Memories of Dust (Nier Automata)

"Oh good, something that's not sand anymore." Felix said.

"We would've been here earlier if someone didn't want to explore the entirety of the desert." Medusa said.

"Hey, I just wanted to see how far the City of Nil went." Dry Bowser explained. And… trying to stay far away from El Cinco.

"Well, at least we have a mountain to climb now." Dimentio said as he spotted a sign.

"Now leaving City of Nil

Now entering Banshee's Retreat"

"Ooooh, sounds spooky! Let's go take a look~" Dimentio said.

"Sounds like fun. This should be a piece of cake!" Felix said.

"Hope so." Locus nodded as they walked past the sign.

BGM: Ancient Castle Stage (Devil May Cry)

World 4-1: Steep Climb

They immediately started to climb the mountain, which they immediately realized that the climb was immediately getting steeper.

"Goodness me, haven't they heard of gentle inclines?" Medusa wondered as they kept going, where they were instantly greeted by Boos.

"Hey Locus, do you believe in ghosts?"

"I do now."

"Good. So do I!" Felix said as the Boos cackled and flew away as they continued to climb. They were greeted by more Boos as one offered them a Poison Mushroom, but they shooed them away.

They soon found themselves in front of a rickety bridge. They looked down to see nothing but a dense black fog underneath. "My my, that'd be quite the fall…" Dimentio mused as he levitated off the ground and hummed.

"Show off." Felix mumbled as they crossed the bridge as Acidtail flew over and Medusa simply used a portal while the bridge lightly swung from a breeze as the bridge also started to bend underneath Dry Bowser's weight.

However, it did not snap in half as they made it across, then continued to climb another steep incline as some Boos decided to push some boulders down a cliff just for the hell of it.

"Incoming!" Locus exclaimed.

Felix's suit crackled with electricity. "I got it!" He said as he put one foot behind him and punched the boulder, causing it to explode and sent debris everywhere. "Hoo… BABY! Now this is the kind of energy I like to see!"

"What about the other boulders?" Dimentio pointed out.

"Pfft, what about them? As long as we stay single file, we'lll be fiiiiine." He said… and then the Boo pushed another boulder. "Oh…"

"You were saying?" Dry Bowser asked.

Acidtail landed on the ground. "Follow me." He said as he walked up as the boulders struck his legs but he didn't care as they climbed up the incline and got to the top, causing the Boos to cackle and disappeared, where they would see a forest in front of them.

World 4-2: Steep Climb, Now With Trees!

"So… judging by the looks of this, we have another incline to get through, in a dark forest." Locus said.

"Bah, that's nothing." Felix said as they walked through the forest, but as they entered… they heard a loud cackle that echoed through the land.

"Boos?" Medusa wondered.

"No. This one sounded deeper." Dry Bowser said as they continued through the forest, coming across a few Fishin' Boos and a few Broozers going around the area. One Broozer turned to glare at them before going about its day as a deep cackle echoed through the land.

Boo Guys flew around alongside Ghoul Guys, as some Fangs, Gusties, and Swoops flew overhead, but everyone kept climbing up the incline where they noticed the steep climbing slowly softened.

"Phew… glad it's letting up a bit." Felix said.

"I've never seen so many ghosts in my life…" Locus mused.

Another cackle echoed through the air once more.

"That sounded close." Dry Bowser said as they came across some Boos after a few minutes of walking, where they inflated to gigantic balloon sizes.

"Out of our way, airbags!" Felix said.

"Allow me." Dimentio clapped his hands, unleashing powerful beams of light to scare the Boos away, but as they flew away, they saw a mansion at the peak of a mountain. The moonlight shined behind it as clouds were also above the mansion as lightning flashed in the night sky.

They also heard more cackling.

"That looks inviting." Medusa chuckled.

"Indeed. Let's go pay it a visit." Dry Bowser said as they walked toward the mansion.

World 4-3: Trick or Treat

They approached the front steps of the mansion as Felix knocked on the door.

"Trick or treat! You better have candy!"

He cocked his guns.

"Or else."

Locus sweatdropped. "I don't think it's Halloween this time of year."

"Eh, might as well score some candy very early in the season, no?"

The door creaked open, but no one was there as Felix peeked in.

"Helloooooo? Any haunted candy dishes around?" Felix asked. "...I'm actually craving a Three Musketeers. Where is it!"

The rest of them, save for Acidtail, wandered inside the main lobby of the mansion as they saw it was illuminated by candlelight. They went further into the mansion with Felix having his weapon drawn as they went through the dark hallways illuminated by candles.

Soon, they reached a door and found themselves out in the courtyard… but as they walked, a dark fog swallowed them whole.

Next, they heard the sounds of cackling as they all looked around through the fog. A cackle echoed around them.

Dimentio shifted his eyes, seeing a faint purple glow through the fog but it disappeared almost immediately. It was as if the light sprinted through it.

More cackles echoed around them.

"What the fuck…?!" Felix yelled, seeing sinister red eyes peeking through the fog before they disappeared as Felix instinctively shot at where the eyes were, but he hit nothing.

Locus looked around, unsure of where to shoot. Deep down, he was actually kinda creeped out by this… of course, he wouldn't admit this to Felix, otherwise he'd never shut up about it.

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and opened them…

…And saw a ghost figure mere inches in front of his face.

BGM: King Boo's Illusion - Phase One (Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon)

"Ah!" He yelped as they turned to who just spooked Locus.

"HAHAHAHAHA! Well, this is quite a surprise!" The ghostly figure spoke.

"Who are you?" Dry Bowser demanded.

"I am King Boo, the king of the ghosts of all the Mushroom Kingdom! And you must be Emperor Bowser."

"You know who I am?"

"Oh yes, I've heard about your escapades with good ol' Toadstool, how you declared war all because of a rivalry! I'm impressed that it lasted five years, let alone actually killing Marcus Toadstool! …However, I'm not impressed that you lost to Jade Toadstool mere minutes after she took over."

Blue flames erupted out of Dry Bowser's eye holes. "You dare mention that name…"

"Bit of a sour spot, hmm? I can relate… I, too, have suffered from a Jade as well. Bit of a sore loser, if I'm being honest. You take her parent's souls and destroy her deceased petrified parents in front of her one time and I'm suddenly the bad guy! Sheesh, talk about poor sportsmanship! I ain't the one who decided to slap ghosts into portraits with the Portraitificationizer and called it a day!"

"...Portri-... huh? English please for us non-ghost types?" Felix asked.

"That is the first time I ever heard you say "please"." Locus said.

"Jade Toadstool gave you hell too?"

"Nah, Jade Gadd."

"Gadd… I had one in my timeline. Albert E. Gadd. I have a pretty good feeling he helped Jade Toadstool in the war."

"Bah! It's always a Gadd ruining our lives!" King Boo grumbled.

"Excuse me, mister King Boo…" Dimentio spoke up. "Yeah, hi, big fan… um… aren't you supposed to be in a portrait by now?"

"Well, look who it is!" King Boo frowned sinisterly. "If it isn't the bastard who decided to Grimmify me to help a mistake out just so she can destroy a huntress in peace!"

Dimentio sweatdropped. "You know about that?"

"Know about that? I was aware of what you were doing when my scouts watched you create it! And thanks to YOU, Princess Daisy has new powers under her belt! Don't think I wasn't aware of your misdeeds, clown!"

"Aheheheh… I thought you wouldn't have cared since you were-"

Lightning flashed in the sky as King Boo got into Dimentio's face.

"I'VE BEEN OUT OF THAT PORTRAIT MONTHS BEFORE DARK RUBY KICKSTARTED HER SAD CAMPAIGN AND LET ME TELL YOU, I DO NOT APPRECIATE YOU GRIMMIFYING ME WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!"

"Aheheheh… uh… would you have said yes if I asked you?"

"NO!"

"I thought not…"

"I WOULD HAVE MADE YOU A GRIMM, YOU JESTER HATTED EYE SORE!"

"Okay, settle down… there's no need for-"

King Boo's crown crackled with energy and proceeded to shoot Dimentio point blank, immediately turning him into stone, Keyblade included.

"Ah… I've been wanting to do that to him for a long time." King Boo chuckled. "Tell you what, Emperor. I'll release this clown if you can show me what you're made of. Ancient emperor vs ancient Boo! Does that sound like a fair trade?"

"Sounds good to me." Dry Bowser said as Medusa picked up Dimentio and put him to the side.

King Boo cackled. "I've been looking forward to cut loose for a long time!"

BGM: Suffer (Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening)

Ghoulish Comeback - King Boo

King Boo conjured up Will-O-Wisps and threw them at Dry Bowser, where he quickly jumped over and clawed at King Boo, only for it to phase through him as King Boo's crown crackled with energy and fired lightning bolts point blank at Dry Bowser, knocking him back a few as he then breathed blue fire at him.

King Boo conjured up a pale blue fire and unleashed a stream of fire, both of them connecting as they were a stalemate with no one pushing against the other, and then Dry Bowser punched the ground to create a fiery shockwave that knocked King Boo back as the emperor jumped over and fire punched King Boo in the cheek.

The ghostly king let out a cackle as he swung his tongue, knocking the dry king away as a blue aura surrounded King Boo's crown and shot at the ground, creating a line of ice that shot up toward Emperor Bowser, where he jumped out of the way and then Fire Lashed him in the face a few times.

With a smirk, King Boo conjured up more will o wisps, but then he tossed them up to create a giant pale blue fireball as King Boo flew up and smacked it down with his tongue as Dry Bowser crossed his arms to block it, but as it hit him, his arms and legs frosted over… not that he cared as he broke free anyway as he then unleashed his Oblivion Fire, hitting King Boo.

However, King Boo let out a laugh. "This only works on the living!" He said as he phased out of it completely unharmed. "Your precious Oblivion Fire won't work on me… for you see… ghosts. Don't. Die."

Dry Bowser smirked. That answers that theory. He thought as he conjured up fireballs and threw them at King Boo, where he proceeded to phase around him before his crown crackled with energy again as he split himself up, surrounding the emperor as they all cackled at him.

They all charged up a powerful will o wisp attack, but Dry Bowser took notice that all the kings had dark blue flames… except for one that had pale blue flames. Dry Bowser took his attention to that one as he ran over and fire punched King Boo, causing all other clones to disappear.

"Perceptive!" King Boo wrapped his tongue around Dry Bowser's arm as he threw him to a tree as he fired lightning at him, but Dry Bowser got out of the way as he breathed fire before he jumped into the flames and enveloping himself in fire as he swung at him, delivering an uppercut to his ghostly chin as he jumped up and punched King Boo to the ground, before landing in front of him.

"Hahahahaha! So this is the power of the emperor! I'm impressed… and I've seen enough." He said.

King Boo turned to the petrified Dimentio and fired a bolt of lightning, freeing him of his prison.

"Hoo! Can't say I did not deserve that…"

"How do you feel?" Locus asked.

"Stiff, thanks for asking!" He then turned to King Boo. "You didn't answer my question about how you escaped."

"I don't answer to those beneath me."

"How did you get out of this portrait?" Locus asked.

"It began on a cool night-"

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Dimentio yelled.

"It was a few nights after JINXY made their base of operations in Toad Town. Jade has a secret vault inside of her lab where she does routine check ups on my portrait-ified prison. Earlier in the week, her grandfather considered putting me into a garage sale… but her granddaughter adamantly refused, so she took matters into her own hands. She built a secret vault, no doubt that I imagine that crossbow pun loving gal knows about it, and stored me inside where she can keep an eye on me with state of the art security cameras, lasers that can only harm ghosts, and a state of the art prison that was a glass container that held my portrait. She had made it ghost proof… she thought of everything. I will admit, I respect her genius. She even had a surveillance robot to watch me when she was out on a mission with her team or when she was asleep."

King Boo smirked. "However… she didn't think of everything…"

That night, a few days after dealing with the Shake King…

Jade let out a yawn as she climbed into bed after brushing her teeth, immediately conking out as soon as her head hit her pillow.

Out in Jade's lab, her surveillance robot was hard at work watching King Boo's portrait. At that moment, the picture started to static, causing the robot to tilt its head… before a Boo planted a USB cord into it to paralyze it and made it shut down.

BGM: Ghost Theme 2 (Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon)

The Boo softly cackled as he looked at the security footage as another Boo came out with a smirk.

"Did you disable them?"

"They'll be out for about an hour."

"Good! Now let's wait for the signal."

Back in Jade's room, a Boo gently opened up the window and flew in, looking directly at Jade. It rubbed his nubbins mischievously as he proceeded to go straight inside of her.

"Mmmm…"

Jade slowly rose up from her bed, her eyes opening as they went from green to a sinister red with her sclera being black.

The Boo that was possessing Jade looked at her hands, moving them individually and then her feet. She slowly rose out of bed and walked into her lab, sporting a never ending smirk as she walked downstairs into her lab where the other Boos were waiting.

"You lucky ghost." The first Boo smirked.

Jade smirked back. "I didn't take classes for human possession for nothing."

The boo infested Jade opened up the hatch and then hopped in, looking directly at the portrait in question. She walked over to the glass container, opening it up as she picked up the portrait and giggled mischieviously, then they walked out of the lab together, the portrait underneath her arm as a Boo grabbed a kitchen knife as they went through Jade's room and crawled through the window, then they took off straight for a forest.

"We should be safe here." The second Boo said as he tossed a knife to Jade. "Let's get this ritual started."

With a nod, Jade gleefully took the knife and cut her right hand with it.

"Nnngh! I didn't think I'd develop… feelings again."

"You felt that?"

"Yup… those rumors were no joke."

Jade smirked again. "Never mind that. Let's do this."

Both Boos took some blood that dripped from Jade's wound as she took some herself as they proceeded to make a blood painted pentagram on the ground, then they created will o wisps to act as candles.

Jade placed the painting in the middle of the pentagram as she clapped her hands together, along with the Boos.

"Omnireachita Kentopalooka Nedorishika Wepololo Yestgana Jerukabana Pedanirighta Vousha Koppode Frankikilla Geanzra… TUTANKASTRINGA!"

The full moon shined down on King Boo's portrait as ghostly flames shot out of the portrait as King Boo rose out of the portrait, cackling evilly.

"I have RETURNED!" He declared as he saw the two Boos fly around while Jade bowed before him.

"My king… you have returned to us."

"Yes. I have." King Boo smirked. "Ya know something, Jade… if I wasn't so weak right now, I would reunite you with your parents. However… I cannot do that right now. When the time is right… I will come for you, and we will finish what we have started!"

King Boo chuckled. "Take her back to her home. Make sure she does not remember this night!"

"Understood, my king."

"Hold on!" King Boo picked the portrait up and flipped it over on its back. "First, allow me to take some of her blood." He said as Jade held out her hand as King Boo dabbed his nubbin in the wound as he floated down.

"Tum tum te tum~" King Boo hummed as he wrote a message on the portrait, dabbing his nubbin into more of Jade's blood. "There we go!"

"King Boo was here. The Gadds are LOSERS."

King Boo took the portrait back to Jade. "You know what to do."

With a nod, Jade went back to her home and then put the portrait back to how it was, all the while King Boo watched.

"So that is her new home…" King Boo mused as Jade walked out of the vault, where one Boo unplugged the surveillance robot, slowly causing it to activate once more.

The Boo that possessed Jade put her back to bed, then the first Boo wrapped a bandage over her hand as the Boo messed with her memory.

"Sleep walking. Midnight snack. Accidentally cut yourself with the knife as you prepared a sandwich. Perfect!"

"Let's get out of here."

They quickly flew through the walls and rejoined King Boo as he cackled.

"Sweet dreams, Jade." King Boo smirked as they took off.

Back in the present…

"Hoo, that's vile. I like it!" Felix said.

"Indeed. I am not back to full strength, but I am close.' King Boo smirked. "Soon, I will make Jade reunite with her family."

"You want to tag with us for a while?" Dry Bowser asked.

"Eh… sure, I got nothing better to do. I still have some anger left over… I could definitely use the clown as my punching bag for a while."

Dimentio sweatdropped. "Don't I have a say in this?"

"No."

"Lovely."

"Let's go." Dry Bowser said as they walked off… and would immediately find a lab just a few trees near the mansion.

"Would you look at that, another lab." Medusa said as they walked/floated into it where they would see lab notes at a desk.

"Alright, what do we got here?" Felix wondered, rubbing his hands together as Locus picked up the first note.

"Boos are curious things. They're mischievous, but they're also playful. They don't mean any harm. Heck, they even have a benevolent king by their side, can you believe it? There's actually two brothers! Although, the second brother seems a bit more… "Cowabunga dude" then anything. Well, regardless… this first King Boo seems to be really friendly. He offered us gifts and friendship! I've heard Boos and other ghosts were mean, but he seems to be in good spirits.

…Pardon the pun. Anyway, they seemed to have taken a liking to us, so we kinda stayed here for a while. As I did, my assistant found this peculiar gem in a lake near the mansion. I don't usually care much for jewelry but I thought it was cute. Anywho, at least THESE boos love me! At least THEY know how to respect female scientists! What's your damn excuse, Elvis Gadd? Ugh! You're annoying! You pathetic piece of shit… I hope you rot in hell with your sexism.

Ahem, anyway… I need to cool off a bit. M seems to be interested in giving King Boo the gem. I'm curious as to what she'll say about it! - V"

Felix picked up the second note.

"Sweet merciful shadows… what have I done? I see this peculiar rock in the lake and I thought "Hey, it'll look great on King Boo's crown. Make it pop… make it fashionable". He seemed rather excited since he never seen this jewel before. The moment I put it on… oh gods, it's too horrific to say. He… he changed. Something inside that jewel changed him. It infused in his head… he… it's like he became a different person. He went from kind and benevolent to outright ruthless overnight. I don't know what happened… but I should have listened to SQ. She said that something felt off radiating off of that jewel, but I thought she was paranoid… what have I done… there's no way to get that thing out of his head now… he's forever changed - M."

"Huh… that's interesting…" Medusa said.

"Hmm, that handwriting looks a bit familiar…" King Boo mused.

"Come on, let's go. I'm curious about what the other labs contain." Dry Bowser said as they walked off, while Dimentio was looking warily at King Boo.
