The sun was soon shining once again as cherry blossoms filled the air over a large pool.
"Hello and welcome to day 3 of the ACME 2022 TOKYO Olympic Games! Today isn't gonna be as event packed as yesterday but it'll still be fun! We're coming live from the Olympic Aquatic Centre for the 10m Platform diving event! These competitors will show off what they got as they dive right into this pool." Howard said. "And first off is...Gomamon from Team Digimon!"
Gomamon stepped onto the platform, as he moved towards the edge, before he then stretched his limbs a bit. After taking a look down at the water pool below, he then took a deep breath, and assumed diving position. With a leap, he dove into the water, he went for a combo of somersaults forwards and backwards, before he then braced himself into diving position, entering the water fairly smoothly, with some splashin.
"Amazingly clean dive. And judges say...9.2! Not a bad dive. Up next we have Team Pokemon with Misty taking the dive." Kreese said.
Misty got up on the board, taking some deep breaths as she walked towards the edge. After composing herself, she got a good height off the diving board, enough to get in 3 forwards somersaults, with 2 twists being thrown in, as she hit the water fairly smoothly, as her splash wasn't perfect, but wasn't too bad.
"Wow...not bad for a beginner. And the judges say...it's 9.3! Just a bit more wonderful. Looks like we're in for a real fun diving day." Sylvester said.
"Now...for Team Straw Hat...we have Nami!" Magenta said as Nami got onto the board. She jumped for a bit before leaping off as she did a few spins and somersaults and she dove right into the water while making an L shape.
"Well...that was good. And judges say...9.0. Not too bad with all things considered." Kreese said. "Now, we move on with Team JUMP Supestars as they send Noelle Silva onto the board."
Noelle climbed onto the platform. She bounced on it for a bit before jumping off and ditching her cloak and went diving down gracefully into the water.
"Wow! It's almost as if a real angel had descended down into the waters. Judges?" Howard said. "Oh...8.7. Seems they had a different opinion."
"Now..onto our fifth diver! From TEAM Keroro...Pururu!" Magenta said.
"Well, here I go." Pururu said as she reached the platform. She bounced off and performed some twists before doing a double somersault before straightening up a little late as she hit the water.
"Oh, a little late on that straight dive but all of that before was fantastic. Judges?" Howard asked. "And 8.9."
"Okay...up next, for Team Smash Bros we have Princess Mermista of Salinas diving." Magenta said.
Mermista was up on the platform warming up and stretching.
"Figures I'd be the one taking on all three aquatic events." Mermista said. "I guess I should give this my best shot".
Mermista approached the edge of the platform and then turned around, readying to jump backwards.
After a bid of preparation, Mermista then did an inverted somersault off the platform, followed by a fierce 1080 corkscrew before topping it off with a forward roll, shooting straight into the pool.
"Wow...now there's something you don't see every day. And the judges have given it...a 9.5!" Sylvester called out. "We have a new frontrunner!"
"Up next...we have Team Pokepals as their diver will be Sobble." Kreese said as Sobble looked down from the platform, almost on the verge of tears.
"That's who they picked?" Mermista asked.
"Oh...this is so scary. So so…" Sobble said before tripping up as he fell off the platform as tears streamed across the air from its eyes as they seemed to create a stunning visual effect as Sobble seemed to disappear upon hitting the water.
'Wow...I heard of crying a river before but wow. Now let's see what the judges think. And...it's 9.4!" Kreese said.
"Huh? Did...I actually do that good?" Sobble pondered before reappearing next to the 3 commentators.
"Uh yes...yes you did." Sylvester said. "Let's see how our next diver does. Now, from Brotherhood of Evil...Risky Boots!"
"Alrighty! Here goes!" Risky Boots said as she bounced off the board and performed several twists and spins before straightening up and hitting the water but due to the video it is revealed she used an aquatic trampoline for her tricks, disqualifying her from the event.
"All right, next up, from Team Tiny Toons...The Warner Sister : Dot !" Sylvester said.
Dot makes her way to the platform. She bounces off the platform and performed a triple somersault and a few twists before straightening and hitting the water.
"Wow...that was just wonderful. And judges say...9.1!" Sylvester said.
"All right, things are really heating up now! Next up, from the MLP Team...Apple Bloom !" Kreese said.
Apple Bloom went off the platform backwards, performing a triple somersault before doing three twists. She soon straightened up and was spinning into the water.
"Oh...stylish. Love it." Howard said. "Judges say...9.5! A tie with Mermista!"
"Okay, things are starting to get good! Next up, from Team Hamtaro, its...Seamore!" Howard said.
Seamore stood on the platform for only a second before he charged, lept off the edge of the platform and spun down through the air, landing into the water like a torpedo, the impact tossing water into the air that (fortunately for everyone present) landed back into the pool.
"And final score is...7.4? Wow...that is low." Kreese said.
"Okay...next diver up, from Team Miraculous, Ondine!" Howard called out.
Ondine stood on top of the platform before she ran and jumped into the air and performed a variety of backflips and spins that left behind a water haze before diving into the water with a small splash as the Pisces Constellation Miraculous appeared as she rose out of it, barely even wet.
"Now that was incredible! Judges? And...it's 9.6!" Kreese said.
"Okay...next up...for Team 3 Houses, Bernadetta Von Varley !" Howard said as the shy Black eagle student took her mark.
Bernadetta looked down from her mark before she took a running start and jumped right off and headed towards the waters while doing multiple somersaults and spins before spinning right into the water before emerging with her wings shaking off the water that had stuck to them.
"Wow...and that's how shy people shouldn't be messed with. Judges?" Howard asked. "It is a...9.3. Not too bad there."
"And finally for Team DIGIDESTINED, its Joe Kido !" Kreese said.
Joe looked out across the pool before she stepped back and took the jump as bits of water fell from his body as he hit the pool with a big splash.
"Not much of a dive. But he has asked us to look back at the playback. Judges?" he said as the playback showed the water had formed an image of Gomamon's face.
"Well, that is...something. Uh...Judges?" Kreese asked. "An 8.8. They took off a lot of points for the lackluster dive but gave him points for creativity with the image."
"And with that...Diving winners are: Ondine taking gold, Apple Bloom with silver and Mermista taking bronze." Said Sylvester.
It wasn't long before the groups arrived at the Ariake Urban Sports Park, a sports park built in the Koto ward.
"Now we move on to our final event of the day: Street Skateboarding, a new sport introduced to the Tokyo Olympics! Now, this course is modelled to resemble an average course with guardrails, stairs, even a few dips. Skaters will show off their moves and earn as many points as possible. Winner will be the one with the highest score. Our first skater will be from Team Brotherhood of Evil...Osamu Kaneda !" Howard said.
He attempted to jump on the board before he mistimed it and it nailed him in the crotch. He groaned in pain as he fell down the steps in pain as the board went and landed right on his head.
"And judges...just 1 point...likely given out of pity for his little injury." Magenta said as an ambulance took him away much to the Brotherhood's members anger.
"Let's wipe that...painful scene...from our minds with this next skater. For Team Digidestined, JP Shibiyama." Kreese said.
JP took a deep breath as he planted her feet on the board and proceeded through the course, grinding on rails, and performing a 540 sidespin with a double frontflip.
"Wow. Now that is a skilled skater. And the judges say...345.24." Kreese said.
"Okay...will our next skater step up? Next we have Viola of Team Pokemon. Let's hope she can skate as well as her skills in photography are unparalleled." Kreese said.
Viola stood in the field, board in hand, looking unusually serious from normal. She then laid her board on the ground, then jumped on it, bringing the board up to speed as she sped through the course, grinding on rails and jumping off of ramps with flips at every opportunity. Finally, at the last ramp, extreme concentration etched on her face, she spun her board and herself, performing a gazelle flip before she landed on the ground, standing straight on her board, letting out a breath she had been holding. "Done…and done."
"What an incredible run! And the judges say...598.12! We have a new leader!" Sylvester said.
"Yes she is. And she may be our frontrunner to take gold. But let's see if anyone can top her. Up next, Team JUMP Superstars, Natsu Dragneel !" Howard said.
"Now I'm really fired up!" Natsu said jumping right into the course as he shot across it like a rocket as fire came from his fists before his board hit a loose rock and sent him crashing through a wall.
"Uh...how would you judge that? A...13? Okay...guess that means he was just unlucky." Magenta said.
"Now...our next skater is...from Team Keroro, Giroro!" Magenta said.
"Time to kick it!" Giroro said as he started skating and shredding all across the park as he also held his blade up high as stardust seemed to spread all across the park. By the time he stopped, the entire field sparkled as if it were one large star.
"Wow...so...beautiful. Judges?" Howard asked. "593.98! Wow...someone just nabbed second place."
"Now...next up...from Team Hamtaro, Stan!" Howard said.
Well, here I go." Stan said as he got started. He was performing a lot of grinds on the rails and spins off the ramps. When he got off the big ramp, he was floating his board around him as he was spinning like a torpedo before getting back on.
"Wow...impressive! Judges?" Sylverster asked. "596.23!"
"Now let's see what our next skater can do. From Team MLP...it's Rainbow Dash!" Kreese called out.
"Alright, let's do this!" Rainbow Dash remarked, as she stepped onto her skateboard, before accelerating across the street.
She seemed to be making a few ollies down the street, just to use some simple ollie tricks, before she then immediately used the first few ramps to start with simple tricks, and even using one of the ramps to grind on a set of rails at a 50-50 stance. Through the half-way point of the street, she immediately went for more difficult tricks, as she pulled off a combo of aerial tricks on the curved ramps, and going for several 180s and 360s on the straighter ramps. To finish off her trick on the final large ramp, she performed a 360, with a Method Air performed for long enough to be seen, before she then stuck her landing firmly, passing through the finishing point, as she skidded herself to a halt.
"Wow! Now that was impressive! Judges?" Rainbow Dash said. "600.12!" Howard said. "A new frontrunner!"
"Now...our next skater, from Team Poke-pals, its...Riolu!" Sylvester said.
Riolu stepped up with a small board. He jumped onto it as he moved quickly across the field and skidded across some ramps and leapt off the board before firing some aura shots into the air as his aura shined before landing on the board as it slowed to a halt.
"Hmm...impressive. Judges?" Howard asked. "545.32. Not too bad."
"Well...least I got up there with the others." Riolu said.
"Okay...Just 6 more teams to go ! Now let's see who's up next. Oh. Team Digimon with their skater...Biyomon !" Sylvester said.
Biyomon wasted no time getting on the course. She was performing a few grinds as well as backflips and a 540 spin. When she got off the big ramp, she was lying on her board with her wings gliding her through the air before she landed back on the ground.
"Now that was some massive air time." Caleb said.
"Indeed. And judges score it...a 597.54!" Howard said.
"Okay...our next skater comes to us from Team Tiny Toons, so please welcome...Babs bunny !" Sylvester said.
"Well then, time to give everyone a good show." Babs smiled as she took off, performing a variety of grinds and spins with her hands on the board and performed multiple midair backflips before landing and finishing with a pose. "That was fun."
"Hmm. Not sure what to say. Judges?" Howard asked. "And it's...a 534.65!"
"Okay, next up for Team Straw Hat...Monkey D. Luffy!" Sylvester said.
"Oh yeah!" Luffy said jumping onto the course already on the board as he skated across while doing various kicks and flips and even slingshotting across numerous obstacles before landing with the board spinning on one finger.
"Wow...now that defines the word radical. Judges? And it's a...589.87!" Kreese said.
"Wow...that was actually pretty good." Luffy laughed.
"Okay...like that, you might like our next boarder! Let's see, from 3 houses, we have Sidney Von Moon !"
"Aw yeah! I'm about to show you all some real moves!" Sidney said jumping onto the board as he started moving swiftly between all the obstacles turning ever so slightly just like a plane would as well as grinding on a few rails before jumping off and landing on the ground as the skateboard rolled down his arms as if it were a plane landing on a ramp.
"Whoa...now that was cool. And so do the judges. It's...a 590.98!" Kreese said.
"That was wonderful. Now we're down to our final 2 skaters! So...stepping up, from Team Miraculous, we have Alix Kubdel, holder of the Rabbit Miraculous." Howard said.
"You guys weren't half bad for amateur boarders...but let me show you how the pros do it." Alix said descending into the course like a shot out of a cannon as she skated up and down a few ramps and even landed from a high place without grabbing the board, she just flowed along with the course until she finally stopped.
"Wow...now that was incredible. Judges? And it's...a 600.19! Just a few points different, meaning she is now the front runner!" Howard said.
"And that is how the pros do it." Alix said.
"Yeah, keep that cotton candy haired head in check, holder of the Miraculous. Next up we have our final skater from Team Smash Bros, Riku!" Kreese said.
Riku stood at his starting position, getting ready with his board. He then took off down the course as fast as odd, hitting the ramp and jumping into the air, doing a 720 before heading towards the street obstacles. Activating Flowmotion, he grinded on rails, leaped off the walls and did aerial maneuvers for each jump, and spun around a pole he grabbed completely horizontal...without the board slipping from his feet !
He completed his routine by hitting the last ramp and jumped off his board, doing a triple reverse somersault and landed on his hands, with the board landing on his feet upside down in perfect balance.
"Wow...an excellent performance. Judges? And...its a...612.23!" Sylvester said. "He just trumped Alix Kubdel."
"We have our scores. And our medalists are...Riku earning gold, Alix earning silver and Rainbow Dash taking bronze."
"You were amazing, Riku !" Shiki said as she hugged Riku as the latter blushed.
"Thanks Shiki." Riku said. "Least with this, we now have another gold medal with Caleb in Judo."
"That you do. And with that, all of the events for Day 3 have concluded. So until tomorrow...bye bye!" Sylvester said.
